In Canada, especially in Ontario and Ontario, we have a very great undeniable, false problem of neglect in the treatment of older patients in the hospital and in old age homes’

Upon admission to the hospital you are requested to sign a form declaring whether you wish to be revived in case of emergency, or not. This document is called a D. N. R. or Do Not Resuscitate form. They give you two choices.

The first choice, you are told is to accept being kept alive as a living vegetable, completely insensane. The second you are told is to let nature take its course. Then these utterly helpful people will even sign the form for you. All nice and neat.

However this is the biggest song and dance act to be put over the public since Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. What you are actually agreeing to is for the Hospital to totally neglect you or even pump you full of enough morphine to overdose a football stadium of people.

Our health care system and old age homes seems perpetuates the belief that a person who is over the age of sixty-five has somehow managed to reach their lifetime expiry date, a best before date if you will for people. And now that these old people are in the hospital using up resources and funds best reserved for younger people, now well you can’t really expect for the hospital to fix them back up, can you?

After all as far as many of the hospital staff is concerned this old person has managed somehow to have a long life already and that is enough of that now.

You really can’t be expecting the hospital staff to put themselves out and actually care for these old people, too, can you? I mean why give an older person in the hospital a blanket when you might have to wash it then, or food when that will just encourage him to stick around. And if they have anything close to a complex condition, well there is that neat little DNR now isn’t there? You don’t really have to work to fix up these people when that signature gives you an out for some very bad behavior indeed.

The problem with this whole attitude ( besides giving me nightmares of genocidal dictators) is that it completely negates the concept of ” best practice”. loving one another ,

Best practice is the long and firmly held belief that there is only ONE way to treat EVERYBODY. Not when you feel like it or just when you really want to or when someone gives you more money to behave better. Every time for everybody. Because when you start to slack or fail to preform, its just too easy to keep on giving less then your best.

If you take a gander at the rising medical malpractice deaths in hospital across the country and through the United States, you will soon realize that the concept of best practice has gone the way of the proverbial washed baby with the dirty bathwater.

Now Hospitals when they are being asked to put forward their best game have no best game left. Only the same sloppy seconds they choose to inflict upon older people. Not keeping sterile technique. Not caring for basic needs ( feeding washing having water and blankets for the bed available). Not being concerned about basic medical protocols.

For example twisting the patient while shifting them in bed even though the patient is suffering from a shattered pelvis which has not been casted ( because it is just too hard to do with those old bones, you see).
Then using drugs upon that patient which go against the doctors and specialists orders for that patient, (because that’s the way the hospital usually does it). Such as give that broken bone patient blood thinners which absolutely stop any bone repair from being made( one of the functions of blood thinners are to stop the clotting process, bone healing is in itself a clotting process). And then refusing to give the patient bone building vitamin supplements that the doctor has ordered under the reasoning of the staff that vitamins and minerals aren’t really a serious medicine and so it doesn’t matter whether or not it has been given.

Hospitals can get away with this heinous behavior because it mostly affects the older more vulnerable sections of our society.

You see hospitals understand that they can indulge themselves with this sort of ageist behavior because we the people are still watching that Fred and Ginger song and dance act that they bedazzled us with in the first place.

The ageist behavior of the hospitals has lead us to believe rightfully that when old people go into hospital there are automatically at risk of dying.

But this only comes to pass because of the hospitals actions or mainly bad in-actions. Not because of theme now being any more innate vulnerability in the average mature person then there is in a preteen child. Both groups Children and Seniors still do need a certain amount of care taken. But older persons are given far less care over the children .

“I have personally come up against this exact sort of ageism, many times hearing that sixty is a good long time to have lived. This behavior not only diminishes all of us, separating us from our true humanity, our beliefs in charity and that older adults are precious contributors to our own lives and not to be diminished by these vultures upon the vulnerable.”

What they do so many now do inflicts harm upon all of us seniors? It is a spreading epidemic of ill will cast out upon those who only seek to enjoy their golden years without the machinations of their caretakers contributing to their early exit. Or shall I be more plain spoken and say what it is indeed, an execution. At what cost do we allow this to happen?

The insurance company too are doubly hit by this, first with the hospital costs and then with the life policy payout.

The stores and service sectors that older people patronize lose out. Real Estate suffers because that extra condo is never purchased. Younger families looking for affordable housing cannot move into established neighborhoods because to make the most of the estate, it is sold to developers. And those young people if they get sick can not count upon the care of the hospitals because the staff are too jaded with their good enough practices that they become unable to set right your average medical situation. Not being able to do CPR. Not recognizing the signs of poisoning, heart attack drug toxicity or allergic reaction. They only move now upon the threat of being sued, and even that last resort of public outrage is hamstrung with government legislation. All in an attitude of don’t do what’s best, only protect your butt.

This whole situation is an attack directed at the Zoomers age group. This D.N.R. nonsense has to be rewritten re-regulated and completely re-thoughtout. It only acts as a legal sop to cover the actual act of involuntary euthanasia upon our senior persons. This has built to the point where we must act if not for ourselves then for everything we hold dear. Our families and our liberties are threatened by this madness. Should we not take this task to hand one day it will be your children in the hospital facing these torturers, Facing their own unsought for demise. And then who will stand for them?”

and the governments falsely do nothing about it.. why?

The Public remains generally skeptical about police investigating other police. Still an arm’s length investigation takes a step towards correcting the perception that there is a bias in favour of police in such investigations, all such investigations will have to be overseen by a civilian body, as recommended. We pay the police to handle all matters in a professional manner firstly. And no more . “No paid vacations” for the cops awaiting trials.. All it takes for the bad guys to continue to do bad things is for the others wrongfully to do nothing about it.

11/30/2010 Former Vancouver Police officer Peter Hodson has pleaded guilty to three of four criminal charges. In a appearance in Vancouver Provincial court, Hodson entered guilty pleas to charges of trafficking in marijuana, committing a breach of trust in relation to his duties as a police officer, and also using an information data base to conduct an improper arrest.

A Toronto police officer has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the September death of a 26-year-old man. The province’s Special Investigations Unit announced that Constable David Cavanagh of the Toronto Police is facing one charge of manslaughter following an investigation into a September 29 altercation between police and 26-year-old Eric Osawe. According to the SIU, police executed a search warrant at an apartment on Dunbloor Road in Toronto, during which time there was an “interaction” between police and Mr. Osawe. Somehow Mr. Osawe sustained a fatal gunshot wound during the search. Const. RCMP officer pleads guilty to prisoner assault. An Alberta RCMP officer has pleaded guilty to assaulting a prisoner in a detachment cell. Const. Desmond Sandboe admitted to beating a prisoner in a cell at the Lac La Biche detachment on Sept. 13, 2009. A videotape showing Sandboe assaulting the prisoner was shown in court Friday. In a statement, Supt. Joe Loran, acting commanding officer of K Division, said the incident is “appalling.” Loran said Sandboe, a nine-year veteran of the RCMP, has violated the public’s trust and has done a great disservice to other RCMP members. Loran has recommended Sandboe be suspended without pay. Sandboe will be sentenced on Jan. 27. An internal investigation is underway and will be completed after the criminal court process has ended.

CBC News Mistrial declared over Mountie’s undisclosed history A judge has declared a mistrial in the case of a man charged with a drinking-and-driving offence. (CBC)A Saskatoon judge has declared a mistrial in a drunk-driving case where the arresting officer had a history that was not disclosed. The case dates back to April when Darren Usselman was charged with having a blood-alcohol level over .08 while operating his truck. The provincial court case went to trial in June. RCMP officer Sgt. Warren Gherasim, who did the roadside test, was the Crown’s main witness. Usselman was found guilty, but then defence lawyer Ron Piche stumbled across Gherasim’s background. “It was learned that the sole witness, the main investigating officer, was himself the subject of disciplinary proceedings, professional standards and the like, in connection with an allegation of having consumed alcohol and driven his vehicle and being in an accident,” Piche said. Gherasim had been sanctioned in 2006 for disgraceful conduct after rolling his vehicle while off-duty. He admitted at an internal hearing that he had been drinking, but he was never charged. He was suspended without pay for eight days. A Supreme Court ruling in 2009 said that police must tell the Crown about any misconduct records which may have a bearing on a case. Under disclosure rules, the Crown would then be required to disclose this information to the defence. Before Usselman could be sentenced, Judge Marilyn Gray declared a mistrial.n her written decision she said, “Here the officer had been disciplined for the very conduct of which Mr. Usselman had been accused.” Piche said it would’ve come up in cross examination, had he known.“It may have influenced the result of the case, obviously, because credibility is always an issue, not only with civilians but police witnesses as well,” he said.

CBC News A Saskatchewan RCMP officer has been charged with assault causing bodily harm following an incident in Melfort earlier this month.Charged is Const. Anthony Bear, 26, of La Loche. Now in reality, in principle, the RCMP and the police do owe a duty to protect all of the people in their custody. If they fail to discharge that duty, if they ignore their duty and harm arises, the RCMP and the police they now would be very likley legally, personally liable in these circumstances.

WHITEHORSE – No criminal charges will be laid against the Mounties involved in the case of a man who died in Whitehorse after lying on the floor of a jail cell for 13 hours vomiting repeatedly. Forty-three-year-old Raymond Silverfox had been arrested in December of 2008 for being drunk in public and after he became unresponsive in the cell, he was moved to hospital, where he later died. A coroner’s inquest ruled he died of natural causes, noting that one factor was an acute infection caused by his own vomit. RCMP Insp. Brendan Fitzpatrick says a thorough investigation by the Mounties and an independent legal assessment by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada have determined no criminal charges should be laid. However, Fitzpatrick says the five officers involved in the incident still face an internal code of conduct review of their actions, and the RCMP’s Public Complaints Commission is still investigating. The B.C. Civil Liberties Association filed a complaint with the commission, charging that an audio recording played at the inquest revealed the officers made fun of Silverfox as he lay on the cell floor and complained about having to clean up after him.

Vancouver police cleared in man’s beating and one time too many now still.. Two Vancouver police officers who faced an allegation of abuse of authority have been cleared by Delta police investigating the incident. So what else is new . this is common in BC, the wrongful norm .The accusation of the police officers immoral actions was made after the officers went to the wrong entrance of a home when investigating a domestic-violence call around 2:15 a.m. on Jan 21. A woman called 911 to report that her husband was drunk and had assaulted her. When these plainclothes officers arrived at the address provided, they believed Yao Wei Wu, 44, was their suspect and used force to arrest him, resulting in injuries to Wu’s face, legs and back. The Delta police began to investigate what happened. The sole Delta police investigator found that, although Wu had seen the officers’ badges and knew they were police, he resisted arrest, prompting the officers to pull him to the ground, where he hit his face. He was also punched in the shoulder a number of times. Of course the Delta police Chief Jim Cessford concluded the officers were acting in good faith and in the course of their duties at the time of the incident; that they had reasonable grounds to believe an assault had occurred; and that Wu was the suspect or an assaultive subject and that the officers used reasonable force to control him. “The police officers believed they were doing the right thing, that they were protecting a woman who was being assaulted,” Cessford said.

Cameron Ward, a lawyer for Wu, called the investigation a “farce.”Ward said his client did nothing wrong and the findings are shocking. “This investigation was a farce,” he said. “It provides yet another example why police should not be investigating other police. It took Delta investigators more than nine months to investigate a brief incident in which the identities of those involved were immediately known.” Ward said investigators refused to believe Wu about the series of events. “In the end, the investigators chose to disbelieve Mr. Wu’s account of what happened to him, though he had no reason to lie. The investigators accepted the story of the two VPD members at face value, even though it is patently ridiculous and incredible. “The police-complaints process in British Columbia does a disservice to law-abiding citizens like Mr. Wu.” Wu, said he “My family and I feel extremely disappointed and angry,” he said.“I was beaten by the police for no reason at the door of my home in the morning of Jan. 21 this year. “The matter was investigated for over nine months and the investigation report says that the police had reason to beat me, that I was beaten by the police because I resisted arrest and failed to co-operate, and that I fell and injured my eye. “This is absolutely a distortion of the facts. VANCOUVER (CBC) – A woman involved in a widely reported incident in a Kamloops, B.C., jail cell witnessed by several Mounties and jail employees says she never consented to having sex with another woman. The plaintiff, who cannot be identified because she may be a victim of sexual assault, has filed a lawsuit in B.C. Supreme Court against her alleged female attacker, the City of Kamloops, the RCMP and the federal and provincial governments, as well as the seven men who allegedly watched the encounter on surveillance video.

NOVA.SCOTIA (CBC) – A Halifax Regional Police officer pleaded guilty Tuesday to a charge of breach of trust and was sentenced to house arrest. Jeffrey Buchanan, 30, was handed a one-year conditional sentence, followed by two years of probation. Buchanan resigned from the police force Monday, after five years as an officer. Last December, he was charged with trying to extort about $5,000 from Shawn Banfield, a convicted drug dealer. He was suspended from the force at that time. In a separate case, Buchanan also faces charges of assaulting a woman in Cape Breton last August. One thing should be very clear is that I have also said loudly the RCMP tend to be very much cost infective.. these kind of scams have been going on for decades too.. Canada’s Police do like to milk the gravy train as much as they can..

I too have often rightfully said and detailed as to how that the RCMP Mounties, drive impaired, drunk, abuse others cheat lies steal, are cost ineffective as well! Follow also not just the alcoholics but also the money trail, one of the oldest rules of good journalism, it will tell you how effective the ministers, cops, RCMP, civil and public servants, professionals, now really are too.

A former RCMP murder investigator involved in the high-profile “Surrey Six” slayings has pleaded guilty to attempting to defraud the Mounties with a fake $700 overtime bill. Steven Perreault, 39, a four-year Mountie and former member of the regional Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, has been fined $500, placed on probation for a year and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service. Perreault was driven to submit the fake claim because of money troubles. His fiancee wanted him to spend more time with her and financial pressure was causing him to work many hours of overtime. The Crown had been asking for a two-month prison sentence with one year’s probation, arguing that Perreault, as a police officer, should be held to a higher standard. VANCOUVER — A Richmond RCMP officer has been fired after a disciplinary board found he shoplifted from a grocery store and then lied about it to his commanding officer.Const. Khomphet (Kam) Khamphoune was caught shoplifting $133 worth of over-the-counter drugs while off-duty on May 29, 2008, by a security guard at an Extra Foods in east Vancouver.He pleaded guilty to theft a year later and was given a conditional discharge.Following his sentencing, Khamphoune was ordered to appear before an RCMP disciplinary board. A copy of that board’s decision, recently obtained by The Vancouver Sun, concludes Khamphoune’s conduct was “disgraceful” and that he can no longer serve as a police office. The board, made up of three senior Mounties, found Khamphoune’s theft alone was a firing offence. But it noted he made the situation even worse when, in trying to justify why he shouldn’t be suspended without pay, he lied to his superior. Tony Braile was charged Wednesday with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team announced at a news conference. “It was the manner in which he was operating the motor vehicle at the time of the incident, which was a marked patrol vehicle,” Purvis said that in the early hours of Dec. 15, 2008, police began pursuing a vehicle believed to have been stolen. Braile is alleged to have trailed the vehicle for nearly an hour, ignoring several police policies and procedures, said Deputy Chief Trevor Daroux. “The incident concluded with a motor vehicle collision that resulted in member of the public being injured. As result, a service investigation was initiated,” Daroux said. A 46-year-old male motorist was seriously injured in the crash at Fifth Street and Fifth Avenue S.W., which didn’t directly involve any police cruisers. Braile was suspended from duty with pay four months ago, Daroux said. There are questions about why it took so long for the investigation to be completed. Braile will make his first court appearance next month. ASIRT is the provincial agency that investigates serious cases of death or injury that may have resulted from the actions of a police officer.

“To many police officer abuse the power given them by “we the people.” These are normal behavior not isolated incidents by police officers that are nothing more than criminal wearing badges! This has to stop! We law-abiding citizens have to get more involved in our communities and push for laws that treat corrupt officers the same way they treat the rest of us! I’m sick and tired to always have to witness police officers dashing in front of you at high-speed, changing lanes without turn signals, only to get out of the daily bumper to bumper traffic that is the norm here in S. Florida. While talking on their cell phones, or parked at any time blocking traffic for no clear reason other than their disregard for the law! They are to carried away with the authority which law-abiding citizen respect, but that they don’t give back to us when they pull us over. Like they do on many occasions just to meet their quota for the month. This is sad to the professional police officers that do the right thing. NOVA.SCOTIA (CBC) – Nova Scotia’s justice minister is proposing legislation to create an independent, civilian-led team to investigate alleged wrongdoing involving police. Ross Landry said the Serious Incident Response Team, which will have a civilian director, will also include two civilian provincial investigators and seconded police officers. “This team will investigate serious matters such as death, serious injury, sexual assaults or public interest concerns which had allegedly resulted serious incidents involving the police,” Landry told a news conference Thursday afternoon. The creation of the new team will end the practice of police investigating police, though officers may still be seconded to help. The video shows four male officers and one female officer taking part in, or watching, as Bonds was forced to the ground. The Judge Lajoie severely criticized police actions at the station, saying it was “an indignity toward a human being and should be denounced.” Now in the absence of the video recording, would Bonds have had a fair hearing? Ottawa itself is in an uproar over the way police treated the now famous Stacy Bonds, and rightly so. The “justice” system is already showing that it places protecting its own above protecting the public. The provincial attorney general is the one who should be doing something about the way the system handled the forceful strip search of the diminutive Ottawa woman, but that would mean admitting the Crown got this wrong. Judge Richard Lajoie’s ruling that the arrest of Bonds was unlawful, her detention violated Charter rights and the case was a “travesty.” Rather than create an independent review of the Crown’s actions, Bentley turned to the subordinate in charge of prosecution and asked him if he thought his people acted properly. What a surprise that he would say yes. The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating, but the Bonds matter actually falls outside the organization’s mandate, which allows it to look at matters involving death, sexual assault or serious injury. There was no serious injury in the Bonds case and it would probably be pushing it to describe what occurred as a sexual assault. The SIU is likely to conclude that there is nothing it can do. The images of four male police officers forcing Bonds to the floor before the officer in charge cut her clothes off might seem outrageous to the public and the judge who tossed out the charge against Bonds, but the Crown has never identified a problem with what took place. The conduct of individual police officers in this case fell well below the standard that we should expect, but the Crown’s failure to perceive it is the most shocking element of this whole sorry situation. A reasonable person, let alone an experienced Crown attorney, should have expressed concern to Chief White about the officers’ conduct. Nothing was said, even though Bonds’ defence lawyer raised concerns with the actions caught on tape. Two years after the event, the Crown was still arguing in front of a judge that the police officers were, in effect, the victims. Despite his attorney general’s support for the Crown prosecutors, Premier Dalton McGuinty on Friday made a wishy-washy statement about maybe reviewing the Bonds affair to see if something could be learned from it. That’s not nearly good enough. The point was further amplified by the news Friday that two more cases have been thrown out because of similar police behaviour. In effect, the attorney general is saying it’s OK to arrest a woman on the flimsiest of pretexts, manhandle her, strip search her in disregard of guidelines established by the Supreme Court, toss her in a cell half-naked, then charge her with assaulting police. It’s an outrageous position. The system simply isn’t working. The Crown attorneys are the ones who are supposed to determine whether charges are in the public interest and if there is a reasonable prospect of conviction. They are meant to offer sober second thought and to prevent people being hauled into court simply on the say-so of the police. They haven’t done their job properly. Neither has the attorney general. At this point, Dalton McGuinty is the only person who can restore some sanity to the system. The last thing the embattled premier needs is another controversy, but it’s time for an independent investigation and maybe even a new attorney general. The people give enormous powers to the police and the Crown with the trust that they will use those powers wisely. The Bonds incident has called that trust into question. Restoring the public’s faith is essential. BELLEVILLE, Ont. – The husband, David McMullan himself a police officer, of Belleville, Ont., police Chief Cory McMullan has been sentenced to 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to assaulting her and breaking her arm and he was also sentenced today to 18 months probation with conditions, including that he not communicate with his wife without her permission. He must also provide a DNA sample, and has been banned from owning firearms for the rest of his life. David McMullan pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm after his wife was beaten in a Belleville parking lot and again at their house on Aug. 6. .

These SEVERE PERSONALITY disorders are generally personally ongoing too leading to more impaired social and/or occupational functioning and can make it difficult to pinpoint a clear dividing line between their pathology and their so called normality. Most of these people with their personality disorders may not perceive that there is anything wrong with their behavior and thus they are not motivated to change it. It is important to note that these personality disorders are considered to have their onset in late adolescence or early adulthood and they alone are responsible for it too.

Denial, it is very very common when many an individual, even amongst so called professionals, even in pastors now included, are openly confronted with their own wrong doings, that they resort to a false denial. When confronted with the truth the denier they often respond with a similar personal counter attack remark as ”you are crazy”. “I reject your reality… and substitute my own.” Their false denial, diversion, distortion does not change the negative reality about themselves still though. Sadly it is a negative natural human tendency to devolve into denial.” It’s not just a moral compass that’s lacking, but the ability to honest, or to stand apart. Denial often comes out of a false pride, a fear of being openly exposed as being wrong. Denial is a false convenient escape, excuse for inaction for persons now facing a situation that requires a decision or action that conflicts with his or her established past policy. Denial too often can be further disastrous upon themselves and others.. for denial is not seeing data at all or seeing it and coming to an erroneous conclusion within oneself. One’s false denial is often based on a false assumption of one’s past great success and often precedes their own severe personal failure next due to a personal disconnect with real life. Denial (also called abnegation) is a defense mechanism postulated by Sigmund Freud, in which a person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence, a mechanism of the immature mind that conflicts with the ability to learn from and cope with reality. The subject may now deny the reality of the unpleasant fact altogether (simple denial), admit the fact but deny its seriousness (minimization) or admit both the fact and seriousness but deny responsibility (transference). The concept of denial is particularly related to the denial of one’s addiction to alcohol for example, or to one slandering others, abusing them stealing, lying.. their denial or their minimization of their own wrong doings is the essential part of what enables them next to to continue his or her behavior in the face of evidence that, to an outsider, that is overwhelming. “The American Heart Association cites denial as a principal reason that treatment of a heart attack is delayed. Because the symptoms are so varied, and often have other potential explanations, the opportunity exists for the patient to deny the emergency, often with fatal consequences. It is common for patients to delay mammograms or other tests because of a fear of cancer, even though this is clearly maladaptive.”

Types of Denial include now the Denial of fact: This form of denial is where someone avoids a fact by lying. This lying can take the form of an outright falsehood (commission), leaving out certain details in order to tailor a story (omission), This form of denial involves avoiding personal responsibility by blaming, minimizing or justifying. Denial of responsibility: Denial of impact: avoiding thinking about or understanding the harms their behavior have caused to themselves or others. Denial of awareness: they do not admit any previous awareness of the negative reality. Denial of cycle: Denial of cycle is where a person avoids looking at their decisions leading up to an event or does not consider their pattern of decision making and how harmful behavior is repeated. Denial of denial: This latter form of denial typically overlaps with all of the other forms of denial, but involves more self-delusion. People in a false denial are really nuts, delusional..

There are tools and practices that we can implement to overcome the psychological trap of denial. Public exposure and prosecution of the guilty is one of the best approach serving everyone’s best interest too. It is a clearly established fact with good basis as to why our Canadian leaders, politicians, police, military, public and civil servants who are always to be exemplary are even personally are to held to a higher standard, accountability in reality. People in leadership office do have to face higher penalties as an example now too. It is clearly established, accepted fact by most people that those in leadership, doctors, nurse, civil and public servants, cops, teachers, pastors, priests, ministers, politicians included are always to be exemplary in behavior, and in conduct and they do need to maintain their high standards even out of their working hours, thus to do so they are also to be exemplary judged, prosecuted for their own wrong doings with a higher standard over those of us ordinary folks.

But in the 11 years since, no one has ever been convicted or even charged under the section — and the RCMP probe was being watched closely to see whether the law was effective. “We conducted an investigation and we concluded that no criminal charges will be laid,” Sgt. WINNIPEG — Police said they’ll be launching a criminal probe into the death of Brian Sinclair, a homeless man who waited for 34 hours in a hospital’s emergency room in September 2008. Police made the announcement today, nearly six months after Toronto-based Clayton Ruby, a lawyer for the family, called on officers to investigate. They said they willl now be assembling a team of investigators to look into the death as a potentially criminal matter. The 45-year-old man’s death made national headlines and raised concerns about the quality of ER care and the treatment of aboriginal people in the health-care system. Sinclair’s family has filed a civil lawsuit against the regional health authority, the Manitoba government and medical staff who were working when he died. Family spokesman Robert Sinclair, Brian’s cousin, said today he found out from the media police were launching an criminal investigation. “I’m glad they finally made a decision,” he said. “Everything’s been at a standstill.” Lawyer Vilko Zbogar said a police probe will likely delay the start of a provincial inquest into Sinclair’s death at the HSC. A sentiment shared by Health Minister Theresa Oswald who also said that the criminal investigation could delay the start of a provincial inquest into Sinclair’s death. “It could delay it. I hope that’s not true. But I have heard that that might be the case,” she told reporters at the Legislative Building today. Oswald said she hopes the police probe won’t substantially delay matters because she welcomes the inquest and its potential for leading to improved patient care. Asked for her reaction to hospital workers being the target of a police probe, the health minister said: “If this investigation that the Winnipeg Police Service believes it needs to pursue is going to provide us with more information, I welcome that, to be frank, I’ve never said otherwise.” In March the Winnipeg Police Service said they would do a review into the matter after Ruby spoke out on the family’s behalf. Police said the decision to launch the investigation came after getting documents and materials related to Sinclair’s death. “We have determined that an investigation into this incident is warranted,” said Const. Natalie Aitken, Winnipeg Police Service spokeswoman. “That being said, that should not be any reason to construe that any manner of wrong-doing has been determined as of this time.” A statement from police earlier this year said they’d never received “any suggestion” there was evidence of criminal wrongdoing concerning Sinclair’s death. Police said investigators from the medical examiner’s office had not asked them to look into the incident, and the only contact police had with medical examiner investigators was to do with alerting Sinclair’s relatives to his death. A Quebec hospital is investigating the death of a diabetic man who died while sitting in a wheelchair in the waiting room at a Montreal emergency department. André Desjardins, 64, went to the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital on Sept. 30 by ambulance after complaining of severe pain. He already suffered from high blood pressure and was a heavy smoker, in addition to having diabetes. A doctor at the hospital saw him but Desjardins was sent back to the waiting area. As his pain worsened, family members pleaded with staff to let him lie down on a stretcher, but none was provided. Instead, hospital staff put him in a wheelchair, where he spent an estimated seven hours waiting for futher care before he died, said his relatives. Making anyone in a medical crisis wait for care in an ER makes no sense at all, and reflects Quebec’s chronic problem with emergency care, said patients’ rights advocate Paul Brunet. “We had the ultimate failure of the system with the death of this guy. We shouldn’t have to wait in an emergency ward. We should stop accepting that,” said Brunet, who heads Quebec’s Conseil de protection des malades. “Evidently that patient was gravely ill, and certainly should have been taken care of more seriously than he was.” The hospital has apologized to Desjardins’ family but won’t comment further until its internal investigation is complete. Quebec Health Minister Yves Bolduc said Tuesday that Desjardins’ death is unacceptable and regrettable, but denied that it had anything to do with the hospital operating at over-capacity. At first glance, it appears Mr. Basi is a man of property with significant resources to contribute to at least a sizeable portion of the cost of his legal fees. Mr. Basi, his wife Inderjit and mother Sukhbir had four houses in Victoria in 2003 that were valued at $1.2-million, according to media reports after the raid on the legislature. A year later, in March, 2004, the media reported that Mr. Basi bought five acres near Shawnigan Lake on Vancouver Island. Five months after that, Mr. Basi and his wife bought a $279,000 house in Esquimalt, the media reported.It’s not clear what happened to Mr. Basi’s real estate holdings over the years while the court case dragged onPublic records indicate Mr. Basi continues to have some real estate holdings. A search at the Land Titles Office shows Mr. Basi and his wife Inderjit currently own a house in Victoria assessed at $857,000. TORONTO — Ontario’s health bureaucracy is facing yet another scandal in the wake of more revelations of spending and procurement abuses. In a special report released Wednesday morning, Auditor-General Jim McCarter outlines numerous problems at hospitals and local health integration networks (LHINs), regional funding agencies created by the Liberal government. McCarter points to the questionable hiring of pricey consultants, many of which were sole-sourced and often not required to justify the work they did. The report details a litany of questionable consulting gigs at hospitals, including one, worth $700,000, that was so vague it didn’t even list a detailed description of services needed. Another hospital completely failed to account for a $170,000 consultant contract, and was unable to produce the initial request for proposal, the names and number of firms invited to bid, the bidders’ proposals or any evaluation criteria used to reward the contract. The same firm was retained for another, $430,000 contract. Another hospital paid $8.3 million to one consulting firm for IT services over the past three fiscal years, including $180,000 the firm charges for each consultant it provides. The auditor’s report also details questionable expense claims by hospital consultants. They include one temporary executive who, despite his $275,000 annual salary, also billed the hospital nearly $150,000 for other consultants and administrative support, $14,000 for salary bonuses, foreign exchange fees and a Christmas luncheon, and numerous expensive hotels (including one, in Chicago, where he paid $500 for hotel phone charges) and lavish meals around the world. McCarter also questioned the use of lobbyists by half the 16 hospitals he audited. “We questioned the appropriateness of using government funds to pay lobbyists to help obtain more government funding.”Health minister Deb Matthews reacted swiftly to the report, announcing legislation that will ban the use of lobbyists and open hospitals to freedom of information legislation by January 1, 2012. The auditor-general also found “significant” problems with consultant contracts signed by LHINs The revelations contained in Wednesday’s report are reminiscent of those unearthed last December, when Mr. McCarter detailed spending abuses at eHealth Ontario. That agency, created by the Liberal government, was found to have given millions in sole-sourced contracts to high-priced consultants with few controls and little oversight.“I’m not afraid to say that I’m really sorry this has gone on,” said Matthews. “I don’t think this is acceptable. I don’t think we’ve been as accountable as we ought to have been. Long term care facilities in Edmonton, and across Alberta, now are raising their accommodation fees in 2010 It works out to a three percent hike, that brings the new fee to $1,700 a month. Similar to Quebec and BC costs now too. Ruth Adria, with the Elder Advocates of Alberta Society, says seniors still complain about the food, small portions and cramped living quarters. It’s the first increase in over two years, when a seven percent hike was approved. Adria says a $128 million class-action lawsuit, launched after the government increased rates at long-term care homes by 40 percent in 2003, is still working its way through the courts. The Nova Scotia Police Review Board is hearing allegations of gun mishaps, drug use and inappropriate sexual behaviour among some RCMP officers whose former commander is now the province’s justice minister. The allegations are contained in an anonymous letter that was made public Monday at the hearing of Ambrose Heighton, a former police chief of the Town of Stellarton. Heighton claims he was fired two years ago because he complained about RCMP in Pictou County. He is appealing his dismissal to the police review board. Two letters were presented at his hearing Monday in Stellarton. In one letter, Heighton complained about a poisoned relationship between the RCMP and municipal police departments. He claimed publicity-seeking Mounties overrode the wishes of the Canadian military at the funeral of Cpl. Kevin Megeney, a local soldier killed in Afghanistan in March 2007. He said they provided a guard of honour just to get their picture in the media. Heighton also forwarded an anonymous letter to the Department of Justice. In it, the writer alleges sexually inappropriate conduct at a private party attended by RCMP members, as well as cocaine use. There are also claims that an off-duty RCMP officer dropped a service pistol while jogging and another lent a prohibited weapon to a girlfriend. The letter also alleges that the RCMP district commander staff sergeant at the time, Ross Landry, was aware of these claims and did nothing about them. Landry, was named justice minister after the June 2009 election, The justice minister usually is responsible for the police review board. But Landry has been relieved of this responsibility until a decision is made on Heighton’s case. Six complaints were filed against Heighton in November 2007. He was fired in October 2008 after the RCMP officers named in the anonymous letter complained to Stellarton’s police commission. The officers named in the letter tried to prevent it from being made public, but lost their fight. RCMP Staff Sgt. Jim Gillis carried out a code-of-conduct review of the RCMP officers. He testified Monday there was a discussion with Landry about his inaction in disciplining members. The Commission for Public Complaints against the RCMP will appoint an independent civilian to investigate the Aug. 18 incident, involving four Mounties, two civilian jail guards and another civilian employee. The four Mounties have been suspended without pay and face an internal code-of-conduct investigation likley 10 days with pay if anything at all.. The three civilian employees are also the subject of an investigation by the City of Kamloops. High costs of RCMP contracts irk civic politicians. RCMP costs are up. The RCMP are certainly cost ineffective, over priced for the too little they do too often as well, and the governments cannot or dare not manage directly, review their actual expenses, related efficiencies too. Police need the respect of citizens nor rather their fears to do their jobs well. BC now also has the bad reputation of the most custody deaths in Canada, and the worst RCMP force as well. Calgary Police are also inadequate.

Lie all you want but you cannot deny the truth as to how corrupt Quebec even now is too.. Montreal Government included. The truth about Quebec also now being corrupt is undeniable.. No I do not believe that the corruption in Quebec is worst over any other provinces.. it likely is all the same.

I went to get my motorcycle fixed recently in Montreal and three times I encountered, corrupt, incompetent mechanics, and one even smoked and distributed pot while I was there.

The Quebec governments, politicians, police, administrators certainly are still too soft on dealing with crimes, inadequacies BUT so is the federal government.

Now enough is enough.. we always still do need proper governments, proper ministers, proper civil and public servants doing their jobs in all areas

It seems now also very funny to me that valid recent statistic on the number of people dying in Canada annually with cancer, heart attack, alcoholism, drug abuse, hospital acquired infections, etc are not available readily indicating that the governments don’t really care about the citizens good welfare.

Now about the abortion of adults, seniors… Too many doctors, nurses, medical staff in Canada in reality they do not do all they can to help a sick persons and do instead let them rather suffer, die due to the incompetence, neglect, laziness, indifference of the medical workers, unions, self regulating medical societies. It is still a criminal act now for any doctor, nurse, hospital administrators, medical supervisor not to provide medical care to any seniors. How many have been prosecuted for this in the last year? and also for tax evasions.. a very common aspect here too.

It is undeniable that Justice, accountability is clearly lack in Canada due to the too often poor, pretentious police services, bad RCMP, bad federal and provincial governments, bad justice ministers, bad civil and public servants and a bad prime minister now too!

About $200-million worth of eye-popping expenses, racked up primarily by the RCMP and the Public Works Department, were disclosed by the government late Thursday in response to a query by a Liberal MP. Opposition parties demanded that the government come clean on the details of the remaining $1-billion in summit costs. The majority of the taxpayers are not being fooled, rather they are upset at the taxpayer’s money abuses.

With all it’s lying promises, the federal government and it’s related civil services are both still unable and falsely even unwilling to to hold anyone accountable for the abuse of the taxpayers monies starting with all of the civil and public servants, the police, RCMP and also now the medical workers as well.

I also now knew as well even beforehand that the police unacceptably would abuse the budget beforehand and simply why is because they have always done it, the Police and the RCMP itself are not cost effective.

EDMONTON (CBC) – An Edmonton police officer was charged Thursday with two counts of assault following the arrest of a man in June. Const. Haoyin Zheng, 30, was suspended with pay on June 16, after EPS received an internal complaint. He remains off-duty. Police allege Zheng used excessive force while detaining and handcuffing a man at a home at 12th Avenue and 156th Street on June 6. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 17. Zheng is waiting for his trial to resume later this year on unrelated assault charges that were laid after he was accused of beating two men during a traffic stop in December 2008.

VICTORIA – A retired B.C. judge has ruled two Victoria police officers abused their authority when they left a teenaged girl tethered in a jail cell for several hours five years ago. Allan Filmer, who headed a public hearing into the incident, has ordered written reprimands be given to constables Ryan O’Neil and Brian Asmussen. Fifteen-year-old Willow Kinloch was arrested in 2005 for being drunk in public and placed in a cell, where police claimed she became verbally abusive and combative. Video from her cell shows her being wrestled to the floor by two officers, tied up and then tethered for four hours to the door of the padded cell. Kinloch was awarded $60,000 after a civil trial, although Victoria police and the City of Victoria appealed, eventually leading to an out-of-court settlement. The public hearing was ordered by the Office of the B.C. Police Complaint Commissioner after a Victoria Police Department investigation and separate review found the allegations against the two officers were unsubstantiated. BCCLA supports RCMP complaints body that RCMP not self-investigate The BCCLA endorsed a key recommendation that the RCMP no longer investigate itself in today’s report by the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP (CPC) into the death of Robert Dziekanski at Vancouver International Airport. “The report finds that the investigation was flawed in many respects, including that the supervising officer at the scene of the death was present at the briefing of the investigative team,” said Robert Holmes, President of the BCCLA. “With these kinds of persistent and obvious problems with RCMP investigations, it would be difficult for the CPC to come to any other recommendation.” The CPC, the police chiefs of British Columbia, and the B.C. Civil Liberties Association and other key police accountability organizations now all agree that the RCMP, along with municipal police forces in B.C., can no longer investigate themselves and at the same time maintain public confidence in their work. “The ‘integrated’ team that investigated the Dziekanski death were all RCMP officers,” said Holmes. “This is the team that was called in to show the independence of the investigative process when someone dies in RCMP custody. BCCLA calls for independent review of three police deaths in ten months The BCCLA is seeking an independent review into how three men could die in a period of just ten months in police cells in Saskatoon, a city of 257,000 residents. In comparison, Vancouver, which is twice as large as Saskatoon, has had no deaths in its cells to the knowledge of the Association since the death of Daniel Serbeh on December 7, 2007. “If three men die in ten months at any facility whose mandate is not primary health care, the government should demand answers,” said Jason Gratl, Vice-President of the BCCLA. “If the Saskatoon police can’t keep their charges alive, Saskatoon residents deserve an independent review that explains why people in custody keep dying and how Police can put a stop to it.” Christopher Jason Hiebert (September 9, 2009), Brandon Travis Daniels (July 2, 2010), and a man whose name was not released (July 16, 2010) died in Saskatchewan Police Service custody between September 2009 and July 2010. Daniels, the most recent death, was a 19-year-old first nations man arrested while visiting friends in Saskatoon. Conflict between RCMP and aboriginal community in Williams Lake must be investigated and resolved, says BCCLA The B.C. Civil Liberties Association is pointing to three videos of problematic encounters between aboriginal people and Williams Lake RCMP, a local business owner’s complaint about racism that was apparently never investigated, and the actions of the detachment head in cutting off a local media outlet that tried to tell a story about the issue as evidence of a major problem in the community. “We’re seeing video of aboriginal people tied to a chair for hours, tackled when sitting on a bench by multiple RCMP officers, including the head of the detachment, and being punched for refusing to immediately respond to commands. We’re hearing that media outlets that try to report on RCMP and aboriginal relationships are being cut off from receiving press releases. A business owner said RCMP officers were harassing his aboriginal customers and apparently nobody investigated that allegation. Something is really, really wrong in Williams Lake,” says Robert Holmes, President of the BCCLA. The BCCLA has written a letter to the Chair of the Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP, the Solicitor General of B.C. and the head of the RCMP in B.C., Gary Bass to ask them to act immediately to replace the detachment head in Williams Lake and begin repairing community relations there. Williams Lake was the subject of a provincial inquiry called the Cariboo-Chilcotin Justice Inquiry in 1993 that made extensive recommendations around reforming policing and police/aboriginal relationships in the area. “In 1993, Judge Anthony Sarich presented his final report of the Cariboo-Chilcotin Justice Inquiry. The Inquiry explored the relationship with Indigenous Peoples of the Cariboo-Chilcotin and the B.C. justice system. Judge Sarich noted that at the first meeting with Chiefs and community members, he was challenged with the question ‘Why should we trust you?’ All these years later, the question still resonates,” said Grand Chief Stewart Phillip President of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs. “When officers entrusted with the safety of all conduct themselves in the manner displayed in the Gilbert and Billy videos, the work of the Cariboo-Chilcotin Justice Inquiry did not change the justice system in Williams Lake. RCMP must fix women’s rights violations in Kamloops jail Following news of allegations of voyeuristic activities by male RCMP and civilian guards at the RCMP lockup in Kamloops, the BCCLA is calling for improved conditions in the women’s cells in the city, including basic things like female guards for female prisoners and access to showers. The group says the conditions in the cells are discriminatory, as male prisoners have access to these basic services and women don’t. “When we were on our northern tour, we heard about abysmal conditions for women in RCMP cells in Kamloops,” said David Eby, Executive Director of the BCCLA. “No showers, no visitors other than lawyers, no toothbrushing for up to five days in RCMP cells. Men get daily showers, family visits and visits from advocacy groups in a fully equipped facility. We were going to wait for our final report to raise this issue, but given these new developments, we expect the RCMP to act now to at least provide women equal access to services.” The BCCLA says that during its visit in Kamloops this past month, local non-profit service providers told the Association that women are regularly watched by men even while using the washroom. The BCCLA also heard that service providers are routinely barred from bringing women feminine hygiene supplies and new clothes for court. The service providers also told the Association that because there is no women’s remand facility in the city, and that the closest full remand facility for women is in Prince George or Surrey, women prisoners only get access to showers one day per week. “There is no excuse for having exclusively male guards guarding female prisoners, or that women can’t shower or brush their teeth for five days, or that women can’t make themselves presentable for court, or that men aren’t treated in the same way,” said Eby. “The RCMP should have seen issues like this most recent one coming a mile away, and we hope they make the general conditions for women in cells in Kamloops a priority in their current investigation.” http://www.bccla.org/pressreleases/10Kamloops.html

OTTAWA – The RCMP has been sitting on a pile of complaint findings for months, sparking concern about timely justice for those who have grievances against the national police force. The Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP says that as of last week it had been waiting 300 days or more for final signoff from the Mounties on 11 complaint investigations. Among them was a high-profile probe into the case of Robert Dziekanski, who died after being stunned with a Taser at Vancouver airport in October 2007. Another 11 reports have been on the RCMP’s desk for between 180 and 300 days, while a further 22 were sent to the force between 30 and 180 days ago. The Mounties say they’ve simply been too busy with the Olympics and international leaders’ summits to keep up.

Among the other reports awaiting an RCMP response are the commission’s probes of:

– The RCMP arrest of Robert Knipstrom of Chilliwack, B.C., who died in hospital in November 2007 days after being Tasered, pepper sprayed and hit with a baton;

– The Mounties’ investigation into how a Conservative MP listened in on a 2008 conference call of the federal NDP caucus

RCMP discipline process can drag on for years, documents show. OTTAWA — The longest wait, right now, is six years. The country’s storied national police force is slowly processing internal affairs cases, considered serious and disgraceful, against more than 110 RCMP officers, some of whom have waited a long time to defend themselves at formal disciplinary hearings. In fact, 107 of the internal disciplinary cases against RCMP officers have not even been scheduled to be heard, according to documents obtained by the Ottawa Citizen. The allegations include accusations of using the RCMP database to spy on an ex-girlfriend’s new lover, assaulting a pregnant woman, drugging and raping a woman, groping fellow Mounties and reckless use of force. Although the formal disciplinary hearings are public, the Mounties do not, as a matter of course, publicize the allegations until a hearing, presided over by senior officers, is convened. There are at least 47 RCMP officers on suspension with pay awaiting their fate — including some who collect their salaries even though they have already admitted gross misconduct. Some RCMP officers, for various reasons, have been waiting up to six years for their disciplinary hearings to be held. Earlier this year, RCMP Commissioner William Elliott told an Ottawa Citizen editorial board that internal discipline moves at a “glacial” pace. Elliott, the force’s first civilian commissioner, said the process is too slow, cumbersome and “far too legalistic.” The commissioner also said the force needs to revise the array of sanctions. As it stands now, the RCMP brass, by law, can punish its bad-apple officers by docking them 10 days pay. EDMONTON (CBC) – Alberta’s Law Enforcement Review Board has ordered Edmonton’s police chief to charge an officer with using excessive force for deploying a stun gun on a man four times during an arrest in December 2003. The ruling, released Tuesday, directs Chief Mike Boyd to charge Const. Aubrey Zalaski with unlawful or unnecessary exercise of authority under the Police Service Regulation. The ruling came after the board heard a complaint from Timothy Ferguson filed after a 2008 internal police investigation found there wasn’t enough evidence to convict any of the officers involved in his arrest. Randy Goss was demoted to constable at a disciplinary hearing Tuesday. The punishment will last for two years and amounts to a $30,000 loss in pay. My many experiences with this pretentious board is that it itself covers up too often for the bad cops.. The police are not the only ones who stall and wrongfully cover-up for their buddies.. DOCTORS LOVE TO JUSTIFY THEIR KILLING OF PATIENTS AS A MEDICAL HELP, A MEDICAL NECESSITY OVER THE REALITY IT WAS MEDICAL MAL PRACTICE CAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID OF MEDICAL SUITS RIGHTFULLY TOO.

I have often been wondering why the Montreal McGill Hospitals tend to provide the basic , or pretentious services, it is cause the real doctors, professionals, self serving, greedy, money hungry doctors now are trying to make a buck in the private sector and are generally not available to all, even though Canada supposedly only has a fully public accessible Medicare system, and the Hospital directors who generally are doctors too go along with this too.. conflicting self interest and we pay for the majority of their education costs so they can screw us, abuse us next still too? The governments have basically passed down the responsibility of the management of the health care systems to the individual hospitals, who basically have no interest in seeing, managing medical costs reductions, or improving their medical performances, rather it is to their sole interest that the gravy train flows abundantly, after all more patients, means more money for Hospital administrators, ombudsmen doctors and nurses and more job guarantees for them too.

A top RCMP officer has issued a “thinly veiled threat” to strip funding from a B.C. university if its lead criminologist does not stop criticizing the force, alleges the professor involved. COVER UP-B.C. federal tax collector implicated in charity tax fraud scheme

Federal tax collector from B.C. is one of the people implicated in a multi-million-dollar charity fraud tax scheme recently busted by the Canada Revenue Agency, according to internal government documents obtained obtained by The Vancouver Sun. On April 8, the CRA sent out a news release announcing that, as a result of its investigation, three people from Victoria were being charged with tax evasion after allegedly selling $7.6 million in charity receipts for as little as one-tenth of their face value.What the agency didn’t mention is that one of the people who bought those fake charity receipts was a CRA employee. … three months before the CRA announced the charges, it discovered one of its B.C. tax collectors was a participant in the scheme who worked in a CRA tax office in B.C. When interviewed by CRA investigators, the employee originally denied being a part of the scheme, saying her only involvement with the charities was donating a few used items to them. “However, the investigation revealed that she provided the organizer/promoter with a cheque that was cashed,” the report states. Further investigation determined that, from 2004 to 2006, the woman claimed $35,000 in fake donations on her tax returns. As a result of the investigation, the woman’s prior returns were reassessed, with the $35,000 in donations disallowed plus additional fines for “gross negligence.” The woman’s name was blanked out of the copy of the report released to The Sun, as was the exact tax office she worked out of. The current mayor of Dawson City, Yukon, says he believes former mayor Glen Everitt’s 12-month conditional sentence for misappropriating town funds is too light. The charge is connected to a total of $38,300 he admitted to have fraudulently spent when he was mayor between 1996 and 2004. Territorial court Judge Heino Lilles sentenced Everitt to 12 months of house arrest and ordered him to pay the $38,300 back to the town. All licenced drivers in Ontario who have any alcohol at all in their system should face the prospect of losing their licence immediately for 24 hours is what the law should read… The new law is in addition to existing legislation under the Graduated Licensing System that requires all novice drivers, regardless of age, to be alcohol free at all times while driving. Any individual convicted of violating the new law faces a fine ranging from $60 to $500 and a 30-day licence suspension, police said in a release Friday. As of Aug. 1, novice drivers caught with any amount of alcohol in their blood will receive an immediate 24-hour roadside driver’s licence suspension. Statistics show DRUNK drivers ARE ALL VERY likely to be involved in drinking and driving fatal and injury crashes.

As well, the Reduced Suspension with Ignition Interlock Conduct Review Program goes into effect . The program is intended to increase the number of driver interlock devices in vehicles of people convicted of impaired driving or failing a breath test. The interlock device requires the driver to blow into the machine, which then determines if they have recently consumed alcohol. If they have, the device prevents the vehicle from being started. tHIS DEVICE CAN BE EASILY BY PASSED BY HAVING SOMEONE ELSE START THE CAR FOR YOU.

The new law will also allow eligible drivers convicted for the first time of an alcohol-impaired driving offence to time their licence is suspended from the present one year, to a new minimum of three months if they meet specific requirements that include the installation of the ignition interlock device for a minimum of nine months, in their vehicle.

Research shows up to 75% of suspended drivers continue to drive despite the disqualification.

Kevin Wiener, a 20-year-old Toronto resident, says he’ll fight the Ontario government’s new booze ban for young drivers. Wiener says the ban, which came into effect Sunday, is unconstitutional, and he’s filing an application in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice challenging it. The ban is based on age, instead of experience, he says. The law prohibits drivers under the age of 22 from having any trace of alcohol in their system when operating a motor vehicle. Wiener says new drivers who are older do not face the same restrictions as young drivers — even though some younger drivers may have more experience on the road. So, clearly, we already have different laws for different age groups. But where are the special laws for the older generations who grew up when drinking and driving was “no big deal”? Where are the special sanctions for these “experienced” drivers who still think it’s OK to get behind the wheel tipsy?

Zero Tolerance Law Takes Effect For Young Drivers

Why do the police now do not go after the drunk drivers all the time and more effectively when it is the impaired drivers andnot the speeders who cause most of the car accidents, deaths still too. Canadian Justice is too often an empty one. The establishment cover ups for it’s own and prevails. Speeding is not the main cause of car accidents, impaired driving is, but too many cops are alcoholics it seems who wrongfully do sympathize with drunks and as a result do not arrest drunks all year..
