All Police force members are to held accountable for their actions on the job. And  Members of the Police forces  should be held to a higher standard when it comes to the law because of the trust we put in them to enforce the law. The Police can do their part to repair their tarnished  images by firstly to acknowledging that  the person ‘s  rights, as an equal  the one right in front of them a person that the Police  force is supposed to  be  serving and protecting. even  to protect  people under arrest. Yes now what also has already raised the ire of the Citizens is that taxpayer’s cover costs for officers who are charged, but not convicted, of a criminal or disciplinary offence especially at a time when there is some criticism about the ever-increasing police budget. It is absurd that police are suspended with full pay while the local authorities, the Justice Department investigate , the court as well, all which can take years even. Paid leaves are unacceptable. All Police officers do not only need to maintain the respect and good will of citizens to do their job effectively, they also depend on that good will in their salary, pensions and benefits, in which they have been even far more successful than other public employees in recent years. . All police divisions need to hire, train, supervise, retain, to property train and/or supervise officers and to conduct a fair and impartial investigation even against police officers, . Any Police officers can even be charged for “unlawful detention,   battery, false arrest and unreasonable search and seizure,  the use of excessive and deadly unjustified, unreasonable, and illegal use of excessive force, including deadly force .

About the money. Looking more at concerns that many citizens have raised in recent years about police practices, many are about money and police departments’ roles in collecting it—whether to supplement their own or their municipality’s budget. Even there is a concern about the usage of radars, automated speed cameras and whether their use was being driven by public safety goals or a desire to maximize revenue and not  reducing  the deaths of citizens in car accidents. About the municipalities and their false collection of revenue through traffic fines these municipalities “victimize those whom they are designed to protect.” and these practices are “immoral.”  The additional taxation of the citizens through traffic enforcement is unacceptable even if it s falsely being carried out Canada wide. While the goal of having every call for Police service fast and effectively, actively engaging diverse communities, preparing for security threats like terrorism, and responding to societal problems as varied as drug abuse, mental illness, youth violence and human trafficking, having discretionary resources to allow the police flexibility in their efforts to do all those different tasks seems to be a viable goal, the devil is always in the false diversions, Promotions and empire building. These are certainly competing goals here. If the Police Management, officers start getting overly rewarded for how much revenue they bring in, the legitimate  concern becomes whether their law enforcement action will become driven more by the goal of revenue and less by the goal of public safety, service as is too often the case. They should not be forced to think more like a sales person than a public servant. . It shouldn’t be a surprise that the prospect of police departments generating revenue would seem like a great idea to municipal leaders and to the police leadership. Needless to say police resources are often misused where even the mayors do instruct the police to find out all they can about their opposition members too.  ” and it all is still unacceptable! VANCOUVER — Many years later the RCMP officer who stunned Robert Dziekanski with a Taser at Vancouver’s airport lied at a public inquiry into the Polish immigrant’s death, a judge ruled. Const. Kwesi Millington fired his Taser multiple times after he and three other officers were summoned to Vancouver’s airport in October 2007. Dziekanski, who spoke no English, had been throwing furniture in the international terminal.  Millington’s verdict marks the first time a judge has concluded that one of the officers lied. Another Mountie, Const. Bill Bentley, was acquitted in 2013, while two other cases have not yet concluded.  The Crown alleged the officers colluded on a story to tell homicide investigators and write in their police notes in an attempt to heighten the threat that Dziekianski posed. Prosecutors argued the officers’ statements and notes all contained similar errors, proving they worked together. The Crown further alleged the officers met in the Vancouver area in the days or weeks before testifying at the inquiry in early 2009 to plan their testimony. A witness, whose ex-husband is Bentley’s cousin, told the court the officers met at her home, but the defence presented telephone records, credit card receipts and other evidence to cast doubt on her testimony. The judge  noted that the officer’s errors all exaggerated the threat Dziekanski posed.

A Quebec  SQ officer is facing charges of falsifying evidence. A constable with B.C.’s Abbotsford Police Department has been criminally charged and 16 other officers are under investigation for allegations related to the integrity of statements used in a number of criminal cases to obtain search warrants. Const. Christopher Nicholson has been charged with  breach of trust, obstruction of justice and conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance, the Office of the Police Complaints Commissioner (OPCC) said in a statement released Wednesday.  During the Vancouver Police Department investigation, it says it uncovered further allegations of misconduct against 16 other members of the APD and a total of 148 accusations of misconduct against seventeen members of the Abbotsford Police Department. The accusations include corrupt practice, deceit, and neglect of duty. The OPCC says it has not been able to adequately determine the extent to which prosecutions may have been compromised “due to the lack of adequate disclosure from the police. Deputy Police Complaint Commissioner Rollie Woods says the officers are accused of making up information to secure search warrants. “The concerns raised have an impact of the interplay between key institutional stakeholders within the criminal justice system which include the federal prosecution service, judicial officers and the police. Furthermore, what remains an active concern to the OPCC is the extent to which the search warrants in issue may have contributed to potentially unsafe prosecutions,” reads a statement from the office.

The exception was information that pointed to tax-related crimes.  The new provisions apply to offences including breaking and entering, vehicle theft, arson, corruption and kidnapping. Mountie charged with trafficking cocaine and Ecstasy

The now-suspended officer has been on the force nearly seven years and was stationed in Swift Current as a general duty constable since 2012, the RCMP said.

The Finns also see education as a long-term investment, a cost of doing business as an advanced economy. Recently, the government of Lower Saxony (a German state) decided to abolish tuition fees and make Germany a tuition-free country once again. Free tuition-supporters in this country have noticed this development and are now asking, “Why not Canada?”

It is within this context that the Nova Scotia branch of the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) published a report in September calling for the elimination of all provincial university tuition fees by 2026.

CFS regional chairperson Anna Dubinski says that student debt hinders the province’s economy by deterring people from attending post-secondary institutions. The CFS argues that abolishing tuition fees would lead to greater participation in post-secondary education at little overall cost to the provincial treasury.

Eliminating tuition fees for university students is an  efficient policy idea. Students themselves share in the benefits of higher education through increased lifetime earnings and the citizens next as well though the earned taxes paid. And we’d raise the quality of our own teachers by making their training free as well — if they qualify. And when the Students all do graduate, they shouldn’t have to struggle to pay bills for food, shelter or clothing, and thus will not be a burden to the state.

The problem of doing your own thing

The problem of doing your own thing, sadly can too often mean also that it is harmful to yourself and still  also  next to the others. but there will be always the 30 percent hard core persons who will still vigorously support it..

Alcohol is still a basic  “stepping-stone drug” to other immoral acts, bad drug usages.. even if it is legal, cheap, potent. The people who take pot still tend to not stop consuming alcohol.. and other bad drugs too.. People who approve of their usages are stoned, or  then they must be just plain stupid! The myth that  people who use it cause no harm to other people is a myth still too..  The negative side effects of alcohol and bad drugs  are well know already…the false supposedly positive statements is an ostrich approach that  still neglects all of the other real negative realities.

Not much has changed since his September 2014 study for the Fraser Institute found a key cost driver to be the rising number of officers in Canada per 100,000 population. According to his analysis, per capita police expenditures rose more than 45% between 1986 and 2012, while Criminal Code incidents per officer declined by almost 37% .  Call volumes to police remained stable between 2002 and 2012, but provincial expenditures on security grew at an average annual rate almost double the GDP growth. An arbitration system some feel consistently awards salary increases to police without regard to  their productivity.  is part of the problem.  There is a need for a “consistent and rigorous” review of internal police operations to ensure services are efficient and are deploying officers appropriately. Communities across the country grapple with police budgets that in some cases are eating up to 50% of their operating budgets. Most attempts at cost-cutting to date have amounted to tinkering around the edges. Many communities are over-policed, laying off officers is   the best way to save money.

The RCMP gas spent over 4 million dollars per year for 500 police officers  against terrorism and has  yet to catch one major terrorist in Canada.

The pretentious, useless, cost ineffective RCMP is not something new even if the Canadian Auditor General now says the same thing… Several major federal departments have failed to fix previously identified weaknesses in safeguarding taxpayers’ dollars and are dragging their heels on long-overdue changes, the federal auditor general says in a new report. Some people who pose a threat to Canadians’ security managed by the RCMP  have managed to enter the country illegally because of lax border entry controls. Auditor General Michael Ferguson said he was “very concerned that our audit found too many examples of controls not working.”

RCMP still cannot say for sure what percentage of people get nabbed when they try to sneak across the border between regular ports of entry.

The two were involved in a dubious business deal involving a $120 million investment by Russia in “port development” in Africa.  It turned out that Porter was also claiming to be ambassador plenipotentiary of Sierra Leone, one of the most corrupt countries on earth — an obvious conflict with his SIRC role.”

Quebec’s anti-corruption task force suspects Porter and four high-profile  executives involved in the construction of the McGill University Superhospital  were part of a massive fraud conspiracy.UPAC issued arrest warrants Wednesday morning for Arthur Porter, Pierre  Duhaime, Riadh Ben Aissa, Yanai Elbaz , Jeremy Morris. UPAC confirmed  Wednesday that Elbaz – the former associate director general of the MUHC – is in  custody and will be charged Thursday. Duhaime — the former CEO of SNC-Lavalin – will turn himself in to Surete du  Quebec headquarters Thursday morning, He has already been charged with fraud. Ben  Aissa — another former executive at SNC-Lavalin — has already been arrested  and questioned by police for his possible role in other plots. Quebec’s police task force on corruption is probing the billion-dollar contract for McGill Montreal mega-hospital awarded to a consortium led by Montreal engineering giant SNC Lavalin Group Inc. SNC-led consortium had won the McGill University Health Centre contract. Police raid the McGill University Health Centre . Up until six months ago, the hospital project had been overseen by Riadh Ben Aissa, a former head of SNC’s construction division, and also a central figure in an ongoing scandal. One of SNC’s original subcontractors in the project was a company controlled by construction magnate Antonio (Tony) Accurso – a controversial figure who now is also facing fraud and corruption charges. The hospital deal was put together under the watch of the previous chief executive of the health centre, Arthur Porter who left his own job under a cloud late last year. Arthur Porter had been appointed chair of the federal government’s security-intelligence watchdog agency, when his African business dealings with an arms dealer were revealed. Dr. Porter stepped down from both jobs. The Quebec government has earmarked $2.35-billion for an effort to reconstruct Montreal hospitals, the lion’s share going to the McGill University Health Centre campus. “Quebec’s anti-corruption unit has put several high-profile figures in its crosshairs since being established last year. It has arrested construction magnates such as Mr. Accurso and Paolo Catania, as well as Frank Zampino, a former city councillor who was the right-hand man of Montreal Mayor Gérald Tremblay.”

Not much of a surprise? The tip of the iceberg is being revealed only as  the overall depth of corruption will take much more time apparently to uncover, corruptions that likley permeates the whole project. Birds of feathers tend to flock together. And no one should tell us that  these initial suspected persons, now  were even  just isolated individuals acting on their own without the vast help and knowledge of any others now too. Higher education never insures one’s good moral standings.

Former CSIS watchdog Arthur Porter arrested in Panama .Arthur Porter, the well-connected oncologist and hospital administer whom Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed three years ago to oversee Canada’s spy agency, was arrested with his wife in Panama on charges including fraud against the Quebec government relating to his alleged role in the handling of a $1.3-billion Montreal hospital construction and maintenance contract, awarded three years ago to scandal-plagued engineering giant SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. The head of Quebec’s anti-corruption task force made the announcement Monday evening. In a written statement, Robert Lafreniere said the arrest was conducted after an investigation — code name Project Lauréat — by the Sureté du Québec, the RCMP and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).Dr. Porter and his wife, Pamela Porter, are in police custody.
