Medical services in Quebec is still crap

To the current Premier of Quebec, the Honourable  François Legault of the Coalition Avenir Quebec

I got exceptional Rolls Royce Medical Services from the Cardiac Unit at the Montreal Hotel Dieux Hospital in the last year sadly this is rarely the case elsewhere.

 Why do I get   poor medical services else where still?

Medical services in Quebec is still crap including too many poor family Doctors, Dermatologists, Triages, and you can read all about it here for years mow too, just do a search on my site for CHARGE CARD HAPPY INCOMPETENT DOCTORS, DOCTORS, Health, Health Minister , Hospitals, MISDIAGNOSED SICKNESS.

To  date  I have visited many doctors,   dermatologists,  Triages as well about even an infection on my right foot and not one  of them  had diagnosed the cause.

I had to learn on the Internet the infection was caused by an ingrown  toe nail and when I went  to the Notre Dame hospital Triage to have it dealt with  the buck passing Doctor there  she next said I should go to my family doctor, one of those sad  incompetents too. She  said she was afraid to remove the toe nail as the infection  might get worse.

Doing nothing will make it worse as well

I had even waited months too have an appointment date to see some of these incompetent doctors.

You can easily get sick when you visit a Hospital and most people do and they do not know why? Not all sicknesses are due to Doctor’s diagnostic errors, Medical malpractices or bad medication substitutes by the Pharmacists.

The Quebec government spent millions of dollars building now a new 772 bedroom CHUM St Luc hospital and yet their Emergency services are worse now than before even. The Emergency department accepts about 3 patients every hour, and has at least 30 patients wanting to get seen by a Doctor.  Quebec’s pretentious FREE medical services

DSL ISPs still lie about providing advertised high speeds.

The truth is that the DSL providers, Bell included,  for decades now too often provide their  minimum speed and not their advertised high speeds and why as it is all still downright unacceptable ?

The Internet has become an   essential tool for every consumer in the digital age. The public deserves better from the providers, truth in their advertising even still.

Undeniably the DSL still can’t provide promised speeds profitably.

The median speeds provided by cable and fiber networks are still generally at least 100 percent of their advertised speeds. But DSL networks   still aren’t providing the “up to” speeds they promise to consumers., the promised download speeds.

“DSL shortcomings aren’t a surprise, as speeds over copper degrade with distance, so homes farther from a DSL provider’s plant get lower speeds. DSL ISPs can boost speeds by laying fiber deeper into their networks, reducing the distance that data must travel over the old copper telephone lines. But also  the providers’ continued poor performance indicates that they haven’t added enough fiber to their networks to eliminate the discrepancy between advertised and actual speeds.

So instead of advertising “up-to” rates like other DSL providers, many of them to the   ignorant consumers  “advertises a speed range for DSL performance and often meets the minimum advertised speeds but didn’t provide the maximum speeds they had  promised.

If so, this  is likely to lead to substantial geopolitical changes.   There is still a big amount of public opinion in the US calls for a reduction in The NATO, US  military involvement in international affairs. The West has falsely accused Russia of breaking international law by annexing Crimea. This implies that the US and the  European Union respect international law – which never was true.. And the  EU association policy is still the root cause of the Ukraine conflict. The big lie  that Russia is NATO’s “adversary.” This expression was used by NATO’s Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow  and it increases the tensions unnecessarily.. While Putin is a Russian nationalist. It would be absurd to claim that he aims for a global ideological conquest now too. 

Western false Accusations towards Vladimir Putin traditionally start with the fact that he worked in the KGB. And therefore what he is a cruel and immoral person? Putin is next blamed for everything. What no one in the West can face the reality that Vladimir Putin is a Russian hero? Vladimir Putin’s popularity in Russia and elsewhere is undeniable . Vladimir Putin has always pursued whatever he believes to be in the best interests for Russia including the acquisition of Crimea. The Russian people have always viewed Crimea as part of their homeland because of centuries of shared history and the region’s mainly ethnic Russian population. Russia annexed Crimea in March following the ouster of a Russian-backed Ukrainian president in Kiev, prompting several waves of Western economic sanctions. Mr Putin’s popularity rather has surged at home thanks to his tough stance on the Ukraine crisis. Putin’s minor opponents are not really more effective a fact the West dreaming would likes to distort as being untrue. Putin’s various successes have gained him popularity at home, and have restored his confidence when acting abroad. China has proved a good friend when its interests align with his, and this has continued with the signing of thirty year gas deal earlier this year. Half the Countries abroad do support him too, including India. Whilst European Union and the Anglo-sphere have imposed false sanctions against Putin because of his supposed Russian actions in Ukraine; Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Central/South America haven’t.

From the very beginning of the manufactured civil war in the Ukraine, the Western powers have also revealed their intentions of creating a new “European Israel”.  Removing the Russian language and substituting Hebrew as the second official language of the Ukraine is just one quite obvious move next toward the establishment of a new Israeli enclave. The Anglo-American Axis is distinguished by one pursuit above all, it is its unquenchable thirst for oil and natural gas and Ukraine has it as well and it needs to buy it too. Recently we have seen disinformation and outright lies! As the credibility gap is widening and people in Europe and even in the US are increasingly seeking alternative news media  to find out the truth  a war of ignorant, negative words being played on the internet from Obama and PM Stephen Harper, Ukrainian ministers, etc., on the subject of Russia.. and no we do not have to believe all of their lies and spins..  such as  NATO Commander Paints Dark Picture of “An Imminent Russian Threat” as US-NATO Move to Further Isolate Russia  as  it seems they also do believe they alone now are right and everyone has to do it their way…  Threat to Russia? Ukraine-NATO Military Drills … nuts, dream on, but one day you all  will see the reality.  Both have concluded that even if there is a resolution to the current standoff over Crimea and eastern Ukraine, they  will never have a constructive relationship with Mr. Putin, cause he does not bend his will to their liking that easily. .  

Australia, Canada and Japan were unexpectedly  blocked by the Russians  from attending a diplomatic summit in Vienna NEXT which laid the groundwork for a possible future UN Security Council resolution, ceasefire and transition government in Syria,   blocked from attending a diplomatic summit  due to  their one sided support of a Obama, US vs Russia power  play. A proxy state of war between America and Russia now exists.  Putin has now  outwitted Obama in Syria anyway.

It is always the same old complaint about the Montreal Police

For the last 2 decades, every time I called the Police in Montreal , they first tell me they are really busy and cannot come shortly and when they do come they find false  reasons why it  is not their job, they pass the buck, and say that is the courts jurisdiction, that is  your Bank Manager'”s. Rental Board concern, your property manager’s  problem, etc, including even my complaints  my identity theft, phone harassments, etc,

The RCMP, Montreal police and Sûreté du Québec have allegedly become reluctant to investigate stolen vehicles found by Canada Border Services Agency officers at the port of Montreal, effectively allowing them to be exported overseas by crimes group., as the   police have argued  that costly, time-consuming investigations   and they had more pressing priorities. The Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal said the RCMP was responsible for investigating federal crimes at the port.

ALCOHOL IS  A  VICE AND NOT A NECESSITY.  These days you also so got to supervise daily even the politicians, even the civil and public servants  now as well, for it seems they will all run back quickly to their old tricks.. to their even bad habits of drunkenness, cheating, lying and stealing, and wrongfully next also they think they can get away with it. No man should adduce in favour of drinking wine unless he can prove that the wine Jesus made in the” water-pots” of Cana was just like the wine which he proposes to drink. John the Baptist did not drink wine or any other form of alcohol because Scripture prophesied that he wouldn’t (Luke 1:15). Most people don’t know where to draw the line between temperance and excess. Such people better abstain totally until they know they can “be temperate in all things.”

And the word used twice  for “good” wine is a Greek word which refers to something or someone morally excellent or intrinsically good, rather It was Christ who in the Old Testament gave the warning to Israel, that “Wine is a mocker,” so why would he make fermented grape juice? by creating alcoholic wine, Jesus would have been promoting drunkenness, which the Bible clearly identifies as sinful.

If Jesus made fermented wine, then the fact that the guests had become”well drunk” would have meant that Jesus endorsed excessive drinking. Therefore,either Jesus endorsed excessive drinking of alcohol or the wine was unfermented grape juice! Obviously, then, the wine that Jesus made was unfermented grape juice.

Too many have assumed that the Hebrew and Greek words translated as “wine” must have the same meaning that themodern usage meaning of the English word “wine” does. In the English language, the word “wine” originally was used to denote the juice of grapes, whether in a fermented or unfermented state. Long ago, of course, that word has taken on the usage meaning of only grape juice in its fermented state. That’s why today we distinguish the two drinks by using the terms “wine” and “grape juice.”

Exodus 12:15 and 13:7 forbid the very presenceof “leaven” anywhere in the homes during Passover. The New Testament–in Matthew 16:12 and I Corinthians 5:7-8–provide the explanation by declaring that leaven is a symbol of evil. Leaven is a yeast, so the leavening process is parallel to the process of fermentation. In the light of these facts,plus Jesus’ statement in the disputed passages that the “fruit of the vine”represented His own saving blood, we must surely conclude that the communion cup did, and should always, contain unfermented (ie., uncorrupted) grape juice. The following Old Testament texts show God’s disapproval of wine, as “yayin:” Genesis 9:21; 19:32; Leviticus10:9-11; Deuteronomy 32:33; Psalm 60:3; Proverbs 4:17; 20:1; 23:20, 29-35;31:4-5; Isaiah 5:11-12; 28:7; Ezekiel 44:21; and Hosea 7:5. Proverbs 23:31-35–Again, the very nature of fermented wine is categorically condemned as a “serpent” and an “adder” that bites and stings.

The Bible condemns the use itself of all alcoholic beverages and highly recommends unfermented grape juice!  The only exception to this consistent rule in Scripture is Proverbs 31: 6-7, which commands that alcoholic beverages be given to those who are dying or cowards.

The assumption made by proponents of the moderate use of alcoholic beverages that the ancient peoples did not know how to preserve the juice of the grape in an unfermented state, and that therefore, virtually every instance of wine mentioned in the Bible must be to fermented wine.This assumption is totally false as the ancient historical records are abundantly clear that there were several major methods of preserving grape juice in its natural, unfermented state.

Scriptures clearly teach that the very nature of alcoholic beverages is that which brings spiritual apostasy and otherwise affects the mind (and body too) of whomever drinks it. In other words, it is not excessive drinking only that the Bible condemns,but the beverage itself and its consumption in any amount. Since most people and Christians do not know or study the Bible today they are easily deceived.

As it is abundantly clear that the Bible condemns the use of alcohol in any amounts, Persons that are simply rationalizing what they want to do regardless of the facts or the consequences to their spiritual, or physical, natures are led to do so by the demons.

Sexual assault and harassment are persistent forms of gender-based violence that are rooted in gender inequality. It is estimated that in one year alone there were more than 600,000 sexual assaults in Canada. Sexual assault is one of the most underreported crimes If you’ve been sexually assaulted, or sexually abused call the police, write to the news editors, make it public. Canada has criminal prosecution for sexual offences, abuses.

Canada’s Criminal Code has no specific “rape” provision. Instead, it defines assault and provides for a specific punishment for “sexual assault”. In defining “assault”, the Code includes physical contact and threats. The provision reads:

265. (1) A person commits an assault when
(a) without the consent of another person, he applies force intentionally to that other person, directly or indirectly;
(b) he attempts or threatens, by an act or a gesture, to apply force to another person, if he has, or causes that other person to believe on reasonable grounds that he has, present ability to effect his purpose; or
(c) while openly wearing or carrying a weapon or an imitation thereof, he accosts or impedes another person or begs.
(2) This section applies to all forms of assault, including sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, threats to a third party or causing bodily harm and aggravated sexual assault.
Interestingly, the definition ‘appears’ to include threats of sexual assault as a sexual assault itself. This suggests a person could be convicted of sexual assault without physically touching the victim if they make a threat of sexual assault

The Criminal Code also allows for increased penalties for sexual assault where the accused “wounds, maims, disfigures or endangers the life of the complainant”, see:

273. (1) Every one commits an aggravated sexual assault who, in committing a sexual assault, wounds, maims, disfigures or endangers the life of the complainant.
Aggravated sexual assault
(2) Every person who commits an aggravated sexual assault is guilty of an indictable offence and liable
(a) where a firearm is used in the commission of the offence, to imprisonment for life and to a minimum punishment of imprisonment for a term of four years; and
(b) in any other case, to imprisonment for life.

You can still sue or criminally prosecute a guilty offender even if the sexual assault occurred many years ago. Hold perpetrators accountable for their actions. If we don’t, we reinforce the notion that abuse and assault are acceptable. It allows abusers to defend and continue their actions.

Over a six-year period between 2009 and 2014, police reported 117,238 sexual assaults in Canada where sexual assault was the most serious violation in the incident. Almost all (98%) police-reported sexual assaults were classified as level 1 offences (assault without a weapon or evidence of bodily harm). According to the General Social Survey on Canadians’ Safety (Victimization), there were 22 incidents of sexual assault for every 1,000 Canadians aged 15 and older in 2014. This represented approximately 636,000 self-reported incidents of sexual assault. While anyone could be a victim of sexual assault, research has shown an elevated risk for women and young individuals.

Sexual assault offenders were most often men, acting alone and under the age of 35. Just over half of victims knew the person who sexually assaulted them. The rate of sexual assault was higher among Canadian especially aboriginals, woman, who were single, never married. Research has shown that individuals with disabilities—particularly women and those with mental disabilities—are at greater risk of sexual violence, which may be partially attributed to greater vulnerability, negative social attitudes and perceptions, and abuses of trust.

Substance, use drug use, binge drinking are associated with higher rate of sexual assault, especially among women. Evening activities—such as going to work, night class, meetings or volunteering, or going to bars, clubs or pubs—were all associated with higher rates of sexual assault Another life experience associated with higher rates of sexual assault was homelessness

The risk of sexual assault was impacted by marital status. Individuals who were single were about four times more likely to be sexually assaulted than those who were married or common-law. Age also had an impact: individuals aged 15 to 24 were over three times more likely to be sexually assaulted than those aged 35 and older.Aboriginal identity also significantly impacted the risk of sexual assault after controlling for other factors. Individuals who identified as Aboriginal were over two times more likely to be sexually assaulted than those who were non-Aboriginal.

A medical patient can become the victim of a sexual assault by a doctor. Sexual assault by doctors includes any inappropriate touching that goes beyond the required scope of the examination. It can also include the doctor performing unnecessary examinations, or intentionally not wearing gloves during an examination. Given that doctors routinely perform pap tests, pelvic exams, and other procedures involving intimate areas, patients are particularly vulnerable to sexual assault.

Students in Canada also are at risk of being sexually assaulted by a teacher or other school employee. sexual assaults against students are being reported more frequently in Canada than ever before. This is resulting in both an increase in criminal prosecutions of teachers and students suing for sexual assault.Taking action against the teacher and school is important and helps prevent others from being sexually abused. Such actions force schools and governments to take action to protect children and stop more sexual assaults from occurring.   If a student is sexually assaulted by their teacher, or by a school employee, the school board (government) may be found vicariously liable for the student’s sexual assault lawsuit. This effectively means that the government will have to pay a future settlement or judgment to the victim

BELL STILL LIES

Montreal, Quebec I pay $250 a month for Fibe tv, & internet .. I don’t appreciate being lied to! Our service actually goes out often.. they claim it never gets interrupted ..

We have SERIOUS issues with our internet. It’s absolutely DISGUSTING!!! It’s RARELY available and when it is, it’s so slow i have flashbacks of dial up!!

Oh and they make you believe you have amazing internet speed because you’re not sharing with the general public. This is complete BS. As soon as anyone is on the internet with ONE device, all of internet connections are USELESS. They are so slow that a signal is usually not even detectable!

Finally Bell will get sued.. I suffered a lot with them, they have the worst customer service I ever seen, prices going up regularly, unexplained charges. They fool people of promotions for 6-12 months and then you spend the rest of your life paying for overpriced service

I’ve been given every song and dance from Bell about our poor service. The node is almost 2kms away and our so called Fibe is always going down and we are always on the phone with Bell. In fact, this week we received a new customer service contact number in mail for being a preferred customer. I don’t want a special number I want good service so that I don’t HAVE to call Bell.

I just had this argument with Bell this week . They are saying I am with Fibe ( fiber optic) and I am saying no Fiber optic here only copper !!

I for one can verify that the so called “Fibe” uses the old phones lines in the basement of my apartment building – no fiber optic cable – then it connects from my phone jack to the modem – it’s basically DSL with the illusion of a Fibe network with a premium price tag

It was my biggest problem having fibe was the maIn box down my street. Have internet that was down more than up withbell fibe. They said not enough room in the box… so i was the final one jammed in and they needed to build a new entire box but 7 service calls could jot get that done! So I quit bell ! After the months of grief and torture with the customer service which isnt any service at all. Ill be watching and waiting to get some money back

I fully agree with all the comments regarding poor technical and customer service. I have so many service outages that it is frustrating. I used to call technical service and after so many calls I realized thay have two steps, first you contact a person that asks for the problem then this person tells you to do this ando do that and you do it and nothing happens so he transfers you to a higher level where yo have to repeat the process again and with no definite results. Then they decide that a technicien has to come to your house to fix the problem. So, they schedule the technicien who comes to your house, spends a couple of hours doing the same things that you were asked to do on the telephone with technical service. The system works ok for a couple of weeks and there it starts again.

When something is advertised, a company is expected to deliver what they advertise. A customer shouldn’t have to do any kind of research.  Wrong advertisement is the problem here.

Bell connection really sucks and their technology requires cables at different places.

I’m paying $175 for 2 years. They told me I would have my own fibre optic line coming into my house and that my service would be better than on Rogers. That wasn’t true. They installed copper line into house and my internet is slower than it was with Rogers. It cuts out just as much.

 Seriously though, it’s better to just avoid Bell services. Unlimited 3rd party Internet can cost as little as $40/ month and you can stream anything you want online.

OTTAWA — Canda’s public safety minister  Ralph Goodale says he has expressed outrage to the country’s top Mountie over the latest allegations of sexual harassment within the police force.  “All RCMP members, trainees and employees should feel safe and respected among their colleagues and superiors. Canadians expect professional and exemplary conduct from their national police service.” Ralph Goodale  also said that  he told RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson  that  he expects a comprehensive, transparent investigation, strong discipline, support for victims and a plan to end what he calls “this toxic workplace behaviour.” after the recent  News reported allegations of unwanted sexual touching, bullying and rampant nudity in the workplace at the explosives training unit of the Canadian Police College in Ottawa.   The RCMP  has STILL been beset by numerous cases of sexual harassment and bullying of both women and men. CBC News REPORTS THAT  the high-profile Mountie who first spoke out against sexual harassment in the national police force is suing her employer, alleging years of “persistent and ongoing” sexual harassment and bullying.  In a notice of claim obtained by CBC News Wednesday, Cpl. A $16-million RCMP project to help keep dangerous refugees out of Canada has turned out to be an expensive security flop. An internal evaluation says the screening project delivered information too late, strayed beyond its mandate, and in the end did almost nothing to catch refugees who might be linked to criminal or terrorist groups.Meanwhile, 30 Mounties were tied up for four years on duties that did little to enhance Canada’s security.Under the pilot project, the RCMP vetted potential refugees already in Canada — the names were provided by the Canada Border Services Agency — by checking domestic police databases for links to criminal or terrorist organizations, among other things.But the auditors found a raft of problems:The cost per screening skyrocketed from a planned $425 to $1,026, on average.The RCMP delivered screening checks to the border agency too late about a third of the time, rendering them useless The RCMP reported only 85 of 4,085 names as potential problem refugees,the RCMP’s work over four years likely had no bearing on the vetting carried out by border agency officers

Your Internet provider could be short-changing you

In the last year 2/3 of users complained about the internet in Canada, even that it  is too costly, Bell got the highest number of complaints.

We all should be really concerned now whether Internet service providers  such as Bell, Verizon are misleading customers with slower-than-advertised speeds.  Your  Internet provider could be mostly  short-changing  You, consumers by charging them for faster broadband speeds and failing to deliver the speeds being advertised. Now  each company should  provide copies of all the disclosures they have made to customers, as well as copies of any testing they may have done to study their Internet speeds. We deserve the Internet speeds they pay for. But, it turns out, too  many of us may be paying for one thing, and getting another. It seems they all still lie, are guilty of false, misleading advertisements. Most  broadband providers claiming to offer super-fast Internet connections may be rather delivering service that is slower than advertised.  It is immoral  that the broadband speeds that you pay for are so unsubstantiated  in reality.

It should also review  the actual speeds delivered  to consumers over “the last mile,” a term that refers to the point where a telecommunication chain reaches a retail consumer’s devices.

The  customers who are paying a premium fee for higher internet speeds could be experiencing a disruption to their service due to technical issues brought about by business disputes in these interconnection deals. According to a study conducted last year [PDF] by the Measurement Lab Consortium (M-Lab), customers can suffer from slow internet speeds because of these relationships. Lu Chan Khuong  had this year become the first elected female president of the  Quebec Bar Association  and she is also the partner of Marc Bellemare, former minister of justice under the Liberal government of Jean Charest.  The board of directors of the Quebec Bar asked the president, demanded her  to resign on Wednesday and suspended her after she refused  after was  reported she shoplifted jeans. In its statement, the board indicated that Khuong confirmed being the subject of a complaint for shoplifting in a store in Laval, and that her file was processed under the “program to deal non-judicially with certain criminal offences committed by adults” in 2014. The non-judicial handling of her  offence can be decided on by the Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales when the act is a minor offence that doesn’t pose a real threat to society. The decision is only taken when it has determined that the fault attributed to the offender is an offence that can be proven. Diverting the charges is often offered in exchange for community service.

At the peak of his power, Arthur Porter enjoyed the rarefied luxuries of a Caribbean villa and a chauffeur-driven Bentley, boasting of contacts with heads of state from around the world  — including no less than the present Premier of Quebec,Philippe Couillard .  The Quebec prosecutor handling the multi-million dollar fraud case involving Arthur Porter says she wants Quebec police to verify that he is actually dead, she wants to see official reports verifying accused fraudster’s death Tuesday. Two Quebec anti-corruption officers sent to Panama have been assured  Arthur Porter really is dead.  “The visual identification of the body of Arthur Porter turned out to be sufficient for us to formally confirm his death,” Just to be extra sure, however, UPAC investigators did take fingerprints from the deceased as well as DNA samples.  A week after Porter was first reported dead, of lung cancer in a Panama hospital, the legal case against him is now officially closed.

But  ” the investigation into the McGill University Health Centre bribery scandal will continue, and accusations still stand against Porter’s seven alleged accomplices. Porter, along with his right-hand man at the MUHC, Yanaï Elbaz, was accused of rigging the bidding process to build the $1.3-billion superhospital in exchange for some $22.5 million in bribes. Also accused are several executives from SNC-Lavalin, which “won” the contract, as well as those who allegedly laundered the money — like Porter’s widow, Pamela Porter, who pleaded guilty in December for her part in the scheme. So far, some $17.5 million in assets have been frozen.”

Arthur Porter  who so assiduously courted politicians —  including Philippe Couillard (when he served as health minister in the mid-2000s) — later became a political pariah after a warrant was issued for his arrest more than two years ago on corruption charges. Arthur Porter, M.D., also the former dismissed CEO of the Detroit Medical Center, Dr. Porter, whose management style had already raised questions during this job, at the Detroit Medical Centre, was later charged in one of the largest corruption and fraud investigations in Canadian history.  the  Police allege  Porter received $11.25 million in secret commissions for rigging the contract to build the new McGill University Health Centre superhospital in SNC-Lavalin’s favour.   The Crown alleges Porter received part of a $22.5-million payment from Montreal-based engineering giant SNC-Lavalin in order to fix the call for tenders to ensure the firm received the lucrative contract. Porter left the DMC to head McGill University Health Centre‘s hospital network, where he was administrator from 2004 to 2011. In late 2011.

Porter also quit the MUHC amid concerns he was involved in too many private business deals. He returned to the Bahamas, where he announced in January 2013 that he had lung cancer. Four months later, Porter and his wife were arrested by Interpol agents at Panama’s international airport on the MUHC warrants. Among Porter’s belongings was a passport from Sierra Leone which he claimed gave him diplomatic status.  In total, nine people were charged in the alleged MUHC scheme, including two other former MUHC executives and three ex-SNC-Lavalin ones. Porter was the only one not to appear in Quebec to formally answer to the charges. Porter moved to Nassau, Bahamas, just ahead of a lawsuit filed by McGill and charges by Quebec prosecutors of conspiracy, embezzlement, fraud against the government, breach of trust and related crimes related to the construction of a $1.3 billion “super hospital” in Montreal. Porter, a medical doctor and cancer specialist,   was arrested on an international warrant in Panama City in May 2013,  while in La Joya prison he was fighting extradition to Canada .

In the  Summer of 2005, Porter flies to Baltimore with Premier Jean Charest and Health Minister Philippe Couillard to persuade the Shriners at their annual convention to keep their pediatric orthopedic hospital in Montreal. Their gambit works and marks the beginning of a working relationship between Couillard and Porter.

Porter  founded a consulting company with Couillard in 2009, almost a year after Couillard left public office.

On  June 15:,  2009  Porter and Couillard were elected directors of mining company Canadian Royalties, almost a year after Couillard resigned as Quebec’s health minister and as a member of the National Assembly. The two sat on the board of Canadian Royalties until Dec. 16, 2009.

Up until six months ago, the hospital project had been overseen by Riadh Ben Aissa, a former head of SNC’s construction division, and also a central figure in an ongoing scandal. One of SNC’s original subcontractors in the project was a company controlled by construction magnate Antonio (Tony) Accurso – a controversial figure who now is also facing fraud and corruption charges. The hospital deal was put together under the watch of the previous chief executive of the health centre, Arthur Porter who left his own job under a cloud late last year. Arthur Porter had been appointed chair of the federal government’s security-intelligence watchdog agency, when his African business dealings with an arms dealer were revealed. Dr. Porter stepped down from both jobs. The Quebec government has earmarked $2.35-billion for an effort to reconstruct Montreal hospitals, the lion’s share going to the McGill University Health Centre campus. “Quebec’s anti-corruption unit has put several high-profile figures in its crosshairs since being established last year. It has arrested construction magnates such as Mr. Accurso and Paolo Catania, as well as Frank Zampino, a former city councillor who was the right-hand man of Montreal Mayor Gérald Tremblay.”

By their false denials Who is fooling whom? You cannot fool all the people all the time and now matter how smart you are there is still someone more wiser who can see the truth still too. . Narcissistic, selfish, self centered Mental Disorders too evident now even in many of the so called Professionals even bad pastors, leaders leads these persons to dwell in self-absorption, fantasy, illusion, where she or he has exaggerated claims to talents, importance, or specialness, manifesting evidence of a need for constant admiration from others, a lack of empathy for all others, persistent in this too, have rigid personality traits and coping styles, clearly inflexible, do show a hypersensitivity to any criticism , defeat or negative realities thus they rather are pathological in denial by the their falsity, contrived replacement of the truths which they still must face eventually . These SEVERE PERSONALITY disorders are generally personally ongoing too leading to more impaired social and/or occupational functioning and can make it difficult to pinpoint a clear dividing line between their pathology and their so called normality. Most of these people with their personality disorders may not perceive that there is anything wrong with their behavior and thus they are not motivated to change it. It is important to note that these personality disorders are considered to have their onset in late adolescence or early adulthood and they alone are responsible for it too.

Again false Denial, it is very   common when many an individual, even amongst so called professionals, even in pastors now included, are openly confronted with their own wrong doings, that they resort to a false denial. When confronted with the truth the denier they often respond with a similar personal counter attack remark as ”you are crazy”. “I reject your reality… and substitute my own.” Their false denial, diversion, distortion does not change the negative reality about themselves still though. Sadly it is a negative natural human tendency to devolve into denial.” It’s not just a moral compass that’s lacking, but the ability to honest, or to stand apart. Denial often comes out of a false pride, a fear of being openly exposed as being wrong. Denial is a false convenient escape, excuse for inaction for persons now facing a situation that requires a decision or action that conflicts with his or her established past policy. Denial too often can be further disastrous upon themselves and others.. for denial is not seeing data at all or seeing it and coming to an erroneous conclusion within oneself. One’s false denial is often based on a false assumption of one’s past great success and often precedes their own severe personal failure next due to a personal disconnect with real life. Illustrated fully by the story of the Emperor with new clothes. .

False Denial (also called abnegation) is a often defense mechanism in which a person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be overwhelming evidence, a mechanism of the immature mind that conflicts with the ability to learn from and cope with reality. The subject may now deny the reality of the unpleasant fact altogether (simple denial), admit the fact but deny its seriousness (minimization) or admit both the fact and seriousness but deny responsibility (transference). The concept of denial is particularly related to the denial of one’s addiction to alcohol for example, or to one slandering others, abusing them stealing, lying.. their denial or their minimization of their own wrong doings is the essential part of what enables them next to  continue his or her behavior in the face of evidence that, to an outsider, that is overwhelming. “The American Heart Association cites denial as a principal reason that treatment of a heart attack is delayed. Because the symptoms are so varied, and often have other potential explanations, the opportunity exists for the patient to deny the emergency, often with fatal consequences. It is common for patients to delay mammograms or other tests because of a fear of cancer, even though this is clearly maladaptive.”

Types of Denial include now Denial of fact: This form of denial is where someone avoids a fact by lying. This lying can take the form of an outright falsehood (commission), leaving out certain details in order to tailor a story (omission), This form of denial involves avoiding personal responsibility by blaming, minimizing or justifying. Denial of responsibility: Denial of impact: avoiding thinking about or understanding the harms their behavior have caused to themselves or others. Denial of awareness: they do not admit any previous awareness of the negative reality. Denial of cycle: Denial of cycle is where a person avoids looking at their decisions leading up to an event or does not consider their pattern of decision making and how harmful behavior is repeated. Denial of denial: This latter form of denial typically overlaps with all of the other forms of denial, but involves more self-delusion. People in a false denial are really nuts, delusional..

There are tools and practices that we can implement to overcome the psychological trap of anyone’s false denial. The Public exposure and prosecution of the guilty is one of the best approach serving everyone’s best interest too.

Rhys-Davies, condemned the “extraordinary silence in the West” amid the rising persecution of Christians at the hands of Islamic extremist groups like ISIS and Boko Haram. “Basically, Christianity in the Middle East and in Africa is being wiped out – I mean not just ideologically but physically, and people are being enslaved and killed because they are Christians. And your country and my country (Wales) are doing nothing about it?” According to a recent report from the New York Times, less than 500,000 Christians remain in Iraq today – a stark contrast from the 1.5 million in 2003. Additionally, nearly a third of Syria’s Christians, about 600,000, have found themselves with no choice but to flee the country, driven out by extremist groups. In north-eastern Nigeria, thousands of minorities have been killed or displaced by Boko Haram. Since launching military operations in 2000, the group often targets Christians in an attempt to rid the region of religions other than Islam, the BBC reports. – The persecution of Christians continues to increase, “and the rate of increase is accelerating.” “It used to mean several years in a forced labour camp. Now it means watching your loved ones being beheaded.”

Crown corporations are created through either an Act of Parliament or by articles of incorporation under the Canada Business Corporations Act. They are accountable to Parliament through the minister responsible for that particular corporation. The minister responsible, with approval of the federal cabinet, appoints the corporation’s board of directors, and the cabinet (technically, the “governor in council“) appoints the CEO and determines the rate of pay for all directors and the CEO. The board and MPs have some input into the appointment of CEOs and board chairs, but the government makes the ultimate decision. All have to undergo an annual audit, and most have to submit annual corporate plans, operating budgets and capital budgets for approval by the minister responsible, who then tables them in Parliament. As of 2011-12, they also have to submit quarterly financial reports.  The  MOSTLY STILL USELESS CANADIAN government can intervene in the management of a Crown corporation by having the minister responsible issue a directive to the board of directors ordering them to take some specific action. The CBC HAD its government funding slashed by $115-million beginning in 2014,  the reduction is about 10 per cent of the $1.1-billion the public broadcaster has received annually from the federal government in recent years. It needs more serious cuts still too.

A damning  report  on  the  CBC  finds  that even the “management’s clear, direct failure  to  effectively  deal with  Mr. Ghomeshi’s negative  behaviour gave him licence  to  continue” and many  persons  unacceptably  suffered as a direct result.  Ghomeshi himself had clearly also had fallen  short of the decent, moral  “behavioral standard” as even defined in the employee code of conduct and anti-discrimination and harassment policy, management, and even  the CBC union, did not properly handle complaints and “missed opportunities” to conduct proactive investigations into what they were hearing; and this was all down to “host culture,” which was  the CBC’s  way of saying that at CBC, MANAGERS, Radio, stars were pretty much untouchable. It’s all  indefensible. There NOW STILL ought to be a massive parade of pink slips, not just two sacrificed token executives as the BAD manager were not   eager for any outside revelations of the truth in the CBC , AND ALL THIS is just the tip of  much larger abuse revelations, facts..  Their tolerating the unacceptably poor, bad behaviour from all managers, employees did the CBC organization no good especially EVEN in the long run.  Allowing any of them to NOW remain in the work place will still  not only damage internal workings, it will  have negative public repercussions. The CBC brand damage, EXPOSED bad reputations,  of all of this is permanent too.

A Rubin’s report said that CBC management knew about Mr Ghomeshi’s behaviour, or should have known. It said the members of management did not take steps to stop it. The CBC had workplace policies  to provide a safe, DECENT environment even free of harassment, but that  Managers  wrongfully were not following them: Employees have said they were reluctant to complain because of “a lack of trust and confidence in the complaint process “also.

A majority of witnesses said Mr Ghomeshi engaged in “a pattern of behaviour and conduct” that was “deeply disrespectful to employees”. That behaviour included playing pranks and cruel jokes, yelling, humiliating and belittling others, and in a small number of cases, sexually harassing colleagues. “We saw no compelling evidence that Mr Ghomeshi was ever told his behaviour would have to improve, or he would have to refrain from certain types of behaviour, or else face disciplinary action including termination,” the report said. CBC president Hubert Lacroix described the findings by lawyers Janice Rubin and Parisa Nikfarjam, released on Thursday, as “troubling and disappointing.” The CBC’s ugliest secret, until Ghomeshi blew himself out of the water, is that it tolerated, even condoned, a radio show host who abused his colleagues.

The CBC’s failure to rein in Ghomeshi showed the Management OWN utter disregard for respect and safety in the workplace. And the abuse continued for years. The report faults CBC for failing to properly respond on “at least” three occasions to “allegations and concerns regarding problematic behaviour.” “While Mr. Ghomeshi’s star was allowed to rise, his problematic behaviour was left unchecked.”

NOW the CBC needs to clean up its act. The report makes REAL suggestions including the naming of a workplace ombudsman, a confidential hotline to report abuse, better staff training and workplace surveys and spot audits. It’s all good. CBC BAD attitudes clearly need adjusting. The CBC should start there.;
