Rogers, one of the largest telecom companies in the country, has found a way to block our access to affordable mobile services. We’re now looking at a future where just three mobile telecom giants could control a monopoly of the Internet and phones services, holding back progress and innovation. This is totally unacceptable.

1. Canadians already do pay some of the highest cell phone fees and are forced into some of the worst contracts in the industrialized world.
2. Our broken cell phone market limits our use of mobile Internet technologies, and with it our creativity and entrepreneurship. Providing more choice for Canadians is crucial to innovation, and the success of our economy.
3. Canadians suffer from poor service because three big cell phone conglomerates control nearly 94% of the market
4. To make matters even worse, Rogers has come up with a plan to block our access to the few affordable mobile services that do exist by obtaining scarce wireless spectrum assets. Who next?
5. This will mean more control for Big Telecom and higher prices and less choice for you and your family.
6. The Rogers plan breaks Industry Canada rules because it grants the Big Telecom conglomerate access to wireless spectrum assets that were specifically set aside for new, more affordable telecom options for Canadians.
7. The Industry Minister, Christian Paradis, has the ability to enforce the government’s rules for cell phone service but so far he has falsely refused to do so.
8. Tens of thousands of Canadians have already told Industry Minister Paradis to stop Big Telecom from killing affordability in Canada’s mobile Internet and cell phone market

Again all Cops need to be judged with a higher standard cause they are also to be exemplary.. it seems they are very slow learners here too. All Law Enforcement officers are held to a higher standard of character and moral judgment and they all should live up to it or quit, get fired get another job.   When they fall short of any standards they should be fired and prosecuted, not suspended or given probation or moved to another desk. They cannot be retrained now too.  They should also have their “peace officer license” taken away.  Wrongfully too it’s not hard for a police officer who has a tarnished record to move to another town or even to another place to be a police officer

Dr. Nataros  claims that members of the McGill Faculty of Medicine are attempting to defame his name  because he reported an incident in which serious errors were made by senior doctors. Nataros says that the incident, which took place in November 2012, and is still under investigation by an independent ombudsmen, had near fatal consequences. “It was more than just the wrong treatment, there was a missed diagnosis that made it infinitely worse and the patient almost died,” said Nataros. “It was only very quick treatment and a transfer to a tertiary care centre that saved that patient’s life.” According to Dr. Nataros, his decision to report the errors made by senior physicians prompted these doctors to target him with a barrage of personal attacks. He notes that in a meeting last December, two of the physicians arrived with numerous letters collected from different doctors stating that they found it difficult to work with Dr. Nataros. “The accusations were that ‘Alex is challenging; ‘Alex is argumentative;’ ‘Alex does not respect authority,’” said Dr. Nataros. “But, there has never been an issue with my clinical competency or my patient care.”

MONTREAL — A phone conversation involving a senior executive at engineering  giant SNC-Lavalin provided one of the first clues that Montreal’s new McGill  University Health Centre superhospital was at the centre of an intricate bribery  scheme.   During the taped conversation, Ben Aïssa — then the head of SNC-Lavalin’s  construction division — was also heard referencing the use of a “contract” to  disguise money transfers involving the Canadian hospital. That contract, which  involved a Bahamas-based company called Sierra Asset Management, was worth $30  million. I’ve never felt more sick about living in Montreal, than I do. While healthcare  (and education) are seriously underfunded, we are overtaxed. While the average  citizen suffers, the corrupt politicians, the engineers, the city bureaucrats  and the mob prosper. Taxpayer money ends up stuffed in political party safes, in  off-shore accounts and mafia coffers. I only wish that the Harper Feds would  step in and seize control of Quebec and Montreal. MONTREAL — Six Montreal physicians and professors of medicine are speaking out against the way the McGill University Health Centre is run, charging that the MUHC has become “dysfunctional,” that its academic teaching mission is being given short shrift and that the superhospital planning is a mess. Dissident group notes that the $1.3-billion super hospital under construction in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce will not be equipped with teaching rooms or an auditorium for medical students and, as a result, “teaching facilities may have to be rented to give lectures.”

“Furthermore, it is clear that the superhospital will be a smaller building with fewer beds and resources,” the group adds. “Many services have been abandoned, outpatient facilities will be minimal and many medical units still have no idea of how they will be accommodated in the new hospital. The health implications of these changes in hospital function have not yet been addressed.”

Dr. David Morris, a professor of medicine, obstetrics and gynecology at McGill  said in an interview. “These disasters do not occur overnight.” Dr. Andrey Cybulsky, chief of nephrology at the MUHC, said he decided to sign the comment piece because he objects to the MUHC’s “top-down planning process without really much consultation.” its.

Gwendolyn Nacos, a member of the board of directors who was elected by the population, declined to comment on the letter, saying the policy of the board does not allow for individual members to comment to the news media.

The other signatories to the open letter are Dr. Barry Posner, director of the polypeptide hormone laboratory at McGill; Dr. Mark Sherman, interim director of endocrinology at the MUHC; and Dr. Walter Gregory; a senior physician at the MUHC.

Great Quebec Liberal expecations are headed for a great fall

As we know in the past and definitely in the future  the Liberals were useless, twits when it came to exposing and supporting Anglophone speaking rights in Quebec, and dealing with the vast Quebec Corruptions even at the McGill super-hospital contracts. The really bad  Liberals  including  Philippe Couillard, a Liberal party favorite,  even  a BAD  former health minister,  downplayed the extent of his ties to his colleague, a very controversial federal  appointee, Arthur Porter, He and Porter were once appointed by Prime Minister Stephen Harper to the  committee that monitors Canada’s spy agency, and they also ran a consulting  business together. Porter, a former hospital administrator, now faces fraud charges in  connection with a scandal-plagued contract to build the large McGill large hospital Now here is what I find disturbing  for 5 years Couillard partnered with Porter  and  he did not see how corrupt Porter was, either  Couillard is incompetent, or he has the same bad values as bad Porter! Philippe Couillard thus also  had  allowed the Quebec province to go down in a mess, corruptions.

OTTAWA – Federal procurement watchdog finds more evidence of rigged contracts. A federal watchdog is blowing the whistle again on a series of  cooked contracts. Frank Brunetta, the procurement ombudsman, says he found more evidence that  the Canada School of Public Service rigged contracts to make sure they went to  favoured suppliers.Today’s report looked into the way contracts were awarded to six  consultants, altogether worth more than a million dollars. The complaints to police include concern that Bonwick was hired to represent a local group looking to bring a slot machine facility to town. The citizens also complained that he worked for PowerStream, which last year successfully bought a 50 per cent stake in Collingwood’s public utility company Collus. MONTREAL — Union Montreal did not declare a $1,000-a-plate fundraising dinner businessman Lee Lalli says he held at his office for Mayor Michael Applebaum in August 2009, while Applebaum was still in the party. On Thursday, an aide to Applebaum confirmed that the dinner took place.. Lalli said the dinner, to which he invited local construction entrepreneurs, garnered cheques for Union Montreal from 20 guests.   It was one of two $1,000-a-head fundraising events Lalli organized for Union Montreal, which lost its majority on city council in November after its leader, Gérald Tremblay, resigned as mayor. The first fundraiser, also attended by 20 people, was held in August 2003 at La Cantina restaurant on St. Laurent Blvd, Lalli said. Union Montreal reported in its financial statements that year that it sold 12 tickets to the event for a take of $12,500. MONTREAL –Project Lauréat targets ex-MUHC leaders Arthur Porter and Yanaï Elbaz, ex-SNC-Lavalin executives Pierre Duhaime and Riadh Ben Aïssa, and Sierra Asset Management’s Jeremy Morris UPAC arrest warrants for 5 linked to MUHC contract. A former McGill University Health Centre administrator was arrested by Quebec’s anti-corruption task force on Wednesday. Yanaï Elbaz will be charged with defrauding the government, money laundering and conspiracy to commit fraud in connection with contracts awarded for the construction of Montreal’s $1.3-billion superhospital. Elbaz is one of five people named Tuesday in arrest warrants targeting executives from MUHC and engineering firm SNC-Lavalin, which won the lucrative contract to design and oversee construction of the hospital. Former MUHC director Arthur Porter as well as former SNC vice-president Riahd Ben-Aissa are also wanted by the Unite permenante d’anticorruption. Daily on the news we all now do read about perversity done by perverse, corrupted politicians, civil and public servants, cops and now even professionals – Doctors and Engineers. “Developers, politicians, lawyers, civil servants and throw in the Police for good measure. If that isn’t a sure recipe for corruption I don’t know what is?”

It is not just in Quebec that we have now had corrupted officials for decades. it is still a Canada wide event, it even happens cause “they see Conservatives getting away with this stuff every day of the week” ” We have had this conflict of interests, corruptions in every city/town in Ontario… it is just too often that the insiders who know about it, none feels safe so that they can say much about it as they could lose their job and/or live in fear of verbal or physical reprisal, both in in the large towns. “I would like to see the OPP start at the top with the Ontario Liberals, then work their way down and I would like to see the same with the RCMP with our federal government.” But are there enough ‘honest’ and integrity bound’ cops able to do this honest, decent investigation? as sadly it seems that they too have their own corruptions..
