Canada’s Justice system is fooling few persons

A disoriented Robert Dziekanski died after being Tasered and restrained by four members of the RCMP on Oct. 14, 2007 at the Vancouver International Airport. The incident has become a permanent  blight on the entire RCMP and public perception of the force hit an all time low.  The RCMP were fighting a losing battle, especially as the public has seen a witness video of the incident. It didn’t help the RCMP that they initially confiscated the video belonging to that witness, Paul Pritchard. The police later relented and gave Pritchard back the video. He made it public Nov. 14, 2007, so members of the public could draw their own conclusions. There were many discrepancies regarding officers’ statements concerning what happened, made immediately after Dziekanski’s death, compared with what Pritchard’s video revealed. The video shows Robert Dziekanski falling to the ground immediately after the first Taser shot. The officers at the scene claimed he remained standing for at least two Taser charges. The Braidwood inquiry gave the officers a chance to explain these discrepancies. They could not.

You know I get a kick out of those lying spin  doctors, from police officers, bad cops, union representatives, police lovers  who say that bad people, bad cops and their bad supervisors too they  can always be rehabilitated, retrained.. The hypocrItical police tend not to believe that bad cons can be helped only bad cops… and how many millions of them now has this happened to them.. almost none.. a bad apple tends to get worse.. The RCMP maximum 10 days punishment is always absurd, permanent dismissal is what is always needed with the bad cops and their clearly bad superiors who had managed and hired them too

Const. Kwesi Millington, the RCMP officer who fired a Taser the night Robert Dziekanski died at Vancouver International Airport, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for perjury and colluding with his fellow officers at an inquiry into the death. All four officers were charged with perjury following the inquiry into Dziekanski’s death, for testimony inquiry commissioner Thomas Braidwood called “patently unbelievable.” Millington and former RCMP corporal Monty Robinson were convicted of perjury; the other officers, Const. There were, are four criminals involved here. Not just the one who used the Taser. All four are equally guilty  bad men…  All Police force members are to held accountable for their actions on the job. And  Members of the Police forces  should be held to a higher standard when it comes to the law because of the trust we put in them to enforce the law. They should get severely punished for their failure to do so, especially in circumstances where they abuse their position to try and cover up their very poor behaviour.  Abuse of authority and  Manipulation of the truth is well worthy of jail time for all bad police officers too.

It would be easy to form the impression that the four Richmond RCMP officers involved were the only ones to blame for the tragedy at Vancouver International Airport on Oct. 14, 2007. But as the lawyer for Dziekanski’s mother has astutely observed, that’s only because the RCMP’s spectacularly bad PR has stolen the spotlight. RCMP brass and the federal government could have pre-empted a damning report from Thomas Braidwood by stepping up with a genuine mea culpa and an announcement that a major overhaul of the RCMP and CBSA was already in the works. Many years later the RCMP officer who stunned Robert Dziekanski with a Taser at Vancouver’s airport lied at a public inquiry into the Polish immigrant’s death, a judge ruled. Const. Kwesi Millington fired his Taser multiple times after he and three other officers were summoned to Vancouver’s airport in October 2007. Dziekanski, who spoke no English, had been throwing furniture in the international terminal.  Millington’s verdict marks the first time a judge has concluded that one of the officers lied. Another Mountie, Const. Bill Bentley, was acquitted in 2013, while two other cases have not yet concluded.  The Crown alleged the officers colluded on a story to tell homicide investigators and write in their police notes in an attempt to heighten the threat that Dziekianski posed. Prosecutors argued the officers’ statements and notes all contained similar errors, proving they worked together. The Crown further alleged the officers met in the Vancouver area in the days or weeks before testifying at the inquiry in early 2009 to plan their testimony. A witness, whose ex-husband is Bentley’s cousin, told the court the officers met at her home, but the defence presented telephone records, credit card receipts and other evidence to cast doubt on her testimony. The judge  noted that the officer’s errors all exaggerated the threat Dziekanski posed.

There is “no denying” aboriginals in Canada are overrepresented in the country’s penal system, says Justice Minister Peter MacKay. “This is a tragedy that we have to come to grips with,” The  Justice System Encourages the Continuation of Injustice.   Aboriginal prisoners are overrepresented in Canada’s federal prisons and waiting longer for parole, according to new numbers from the Public Safety Ministry, which is responsible for corrections. Aboriginal inmates less likely to get early release from prison.  Statistically, aboriginal offenders are more likely to go right to the end of their sentence date. Nearly 85 per cent of aboriginal offenders are detained in federal prisons until they have served two-thirds of their sentences, at which time most offenders are entitled to statutory release, compared to 69 per cent of non-aboriginal offenders.  Under federal law, inmates must be released, under supervision, at the two-thirds point of their sentence, unless authorities believe there is a high likelihood those offenders will commit a violent crime. For non-aboriginal inmates, the corresponding figure is 69.3 per cent.   A disproportionate number of aboriginal people arrive in federal prison each year, despite a federal sentencing law that requires judges to consider alternatives to custody for native people. Aboriginal people make up 23.2 per cent of federal inmates, but only about 4 per cent of the Canadian population.

The number of aboriginal women in Canadian prisons is also on the rise. Aboriginal women represent about four per cent of the general population . Women of aboriginal descent now make up more than 35 per cent of the female prison population. ”

” By a wide range of measures, aboriginal offenders fare worse in prison than others. Arriving at an earlier age (48.8 per cent of those entering in 2013-14 were under 30, compared with 36 per cent of non-aboriginal inmates), they tend to be held in segregation more frequently and to be held in custody longer till their first release. They also make up 42.3 per cent of offenders held past their statutory release date, right to the end of their sentence, because of fears they will be violent, the report said. And once released, whether on parole or statutory release, they have their release suspended or revoked more frequently than others. ”  I think Aboriginal people are easy targets. They tend to be marginalized and tend to have limited resources,”  “It’s just a perfect storm for people who don’t have the resources to stick up for themselves.” Saskatoon defence lawyer James Scott has long believed Aboriginal people faced a bias in the judiciary . He Calls for public inquiry into Saskatchewan’s over incarceration of Aboriginal people.  This   disparity between native and non-native parole rates  prove that the justice system, including the parole board, is somehow stacked against natives.

Now a huge economic prosperity gap remains between First Nations and non-aboriginal populations in B.C. and across the country, especially for those living on First Nations on reserves.“ The gaps between aboriginal and non-aboriginal Canadians remain large,” There were 1,400,685 people classified as aboriginal in 2011, according to the report — 851,560 First Nations, 59,440 Inuit, and 451,800 self-identified as Métis, meaning they are of mixed First Nation-European heritage. In B.C. there were 155,020 First Nations people (103,975 living off-reserve, the remaining 51,045 on-reserve), 1,570 Inuit and 69,475 Métis. Left alone, the situation will worsen. The first place it will become apparent will be in Canada’s prisons.

The number of black inmates sent to solitary confinement in federal prisons has doubled in the last decade, according to new figures that have prompted Canada’s correctional watchdog to declare the use of solitary “out of control.” In a 2013 report on the black inmate experience, the Correctional Investigator found that all black inmates were viewed as having gang affiliations by correctional staff, even where the label was demonstrably false. Investigators also learned that correctional programs contain little material reflecting black knowledge, culture or traditions . “From our perspective, this speaks to the general trend of anti-black racism that flows throughout the criminal justice system,” said Anthony Morgan, policy and research lawyer at the African Canadian Legal Clinic. “We strongly feel these numbers scream for the necessity to do a review of systemic racism within the criminal justice system.”

The western  News Media Again  Trash Putin and Russia  leading their descent into hysteria,  inflammatory accusations   and recklessness was, is immoral, as usual, by  their  uncritical  “Reporting” and unsubstantiated   accusations with Russia’s Vladimir Putin almost instantly convicted by the  Western media of being a dangerous terrorist.

These accusations preclude any rational discussion where Putin can strike at any place, at any time, and with virtually any weapon..  And the accusations can’t be challenged.  The evidence can’t be analyzed or dissected because there literally is none: they just make up  the accusation. This is  Western journalism  often at its Worst  and Filled with Falsehoods . That tactic continues to be the staple approach of how major US and British media outlets “report,” especially in the national security area. It’s pure stenography of the worst kind:You know, bad fiction!

Do ponder how as to how dumb someone even really has to be at this point to read  these unsubstantiated accusations, made with zero evidence, and next to even accept it as true even by questioning none of it. What kind of really dumb person would read evidence-free accusations of any  sort from the  government officials – designed to smear someone they hate – and believe them?  Their  “journalism”   is as shoddy and unreliable as it gets. Worse, it’s key accusations depend on retraction-level lies.  Western journalists” often do print  outright fabrication in order to support their key point: that Putin and Russia are bad, is all just “irresponsible” Journalism and  they had added a dose of sensationalism and then baked it with demonstrable lies. Made for the really Dumb people not surprising, and really grotesque, and it shows how  many people (including other journalists) continue to be so plagued by some combination of this stupidity and gullibility, so that no matter how many times a lie is revealed, they still do keep falling for it. If some journalists repeats it  I guess it must be true when it is still not. That’s for a start  is very indicative of the standard of Western “journalism” of multiple other falsehoods, and all sorts of shoddy journalistic practices, and remains thus far unchanged.

This week  in Prime Minister’s Stephen Harper’s Canada; the economy shrank, 30 cases of fraud and breach of trust were found in the Senate, and Canada Post pushed ahead with unnecessary and ill-advised cuts to home mail delivery.  Harper is out of the country.

” Canada is on the verge of a new recession. The first quarter GDP numbers were released by the Bank of Canada and they showed that the economy shrank by 0.6% between January and April. The report was full of bad news and showed that economic growth in March was weaker than February and growth in February was weaker than January. This shows that the negative effects of the oil price collapse are accelerating and voiding any positive benefit we may be seeing from lower gas prices. –

Canada’s Auditor general cites lack of oversight for Senate spending mess.   A fishing trip, contracts for professional services and one senator’s own 50th wedding anniversary celebration are some of the ineligible expenses filed under the guise of parliamentary business,  Auditor general Michael Ferguson’s comprehensive audit of Senate expenses,  spans a two-year period and names 30 senators, including nine whose files are being recommended for referral to the RCMP.  Members of Canada’s Senate improperly spent almost C$1 million ($810,000) in just two years, according to a report released on Tuesday. Ferguson’s investigation uncovered C$992,663 in irregular spending and expense claims made by 30 current and former senators. Eight of those senators were appointed by Harper too.   Ferguson said he was “struck by the overall lack of transparency and accountability” exercised both by the institution as a whole and by some individual senators.  80,000 claims investigated at a cost taxpayers $23.5 million .

Harper is a very poor  manager.  We can  all realize that the emperor has no clothes. Two of the 30 senators in question are Leo Housakos, speaker of the chamber, and Claude Carignan, government leader in the Senate.Both are Harper appointees, as is Senator Mike Duffy, who is on trial facing charges of bribery and improper spending.  One of the two sitting senators whose cases will be examined by police is Harper appointee Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu. This scandal makes a mockery of the promise Harper made when he took power in 2006 of more honesty, transparency, to increase accountability and clean up the Senate. “The responsibility for this scandal continues to go back to the prime minister of this country who promised reform … We deserve better,”

“Massive cuts to Canada Post are set to hit home as the Crown Corporation has announced plans to end home mail delivery to all residences and businesses with postal codes beginning with P7A, P7B, P7C and P7E early in 2016.  , Canada Post is a national institution that has generated a profit of $951 million for the federal government between 2005 and 2014. Yet, for some reason, and in spite of its significant yearly profits, the Harper Conservatives plan to make Canada the only G7 country without home mail delivery. ”

Stephen ‎Harper  again  renews  his attack on Russia’s Vladimir Putin. “Harper ‎said the Russian economy has little in common with western ones.” In reality the biggest threat to Canada and the Canadian way of life is firstly is Harper not Putin.   The more he articulates it, the more Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s speaks  on Russian President Vladimir Putin the more Harper is weird.  Harper now  why do you want to keep poking the big Russian bear with a small  stick?

Harper gains no kudos from me for stealing money from the poor native Canadians and then handing that money out to the billionaire oligarchs in the Ukraine. It is quite telling that Harper seems focused on denouncing Russia’s economy and claims they are not the same as “Western values”.   What is a “western value” economic system, Mr Harper?  gays?   “Mr. Putin runs an entirely different system … he runs an economy that is dominated by oligarchs and criminal syndicates.”  Strange comment from Harper. It’s very good description of North American “systems,” too .  Harper,  he is trying to deflect the media away from covering the Auditor General’s findings, the economy, the Duffy trial, his vacating Ministers… In short, everything that is important to Canada.  Which is why he is, was on the other side of the world…hiding!  He should return to Canada and deal with all the problems we do have at home. Until Harper learns how to keep his own house clean, he has no business criticizing Russia. There is nothing Harper will not politicize to get a vote. What a sad and pathetic sense of leadership. Harper is the last person who should be bad mouthing Putin as  a Dictator.   All coming from the man who wrecked Canada. Harper doesn’t have a clue about Ukraine, or much else:

“I just can’t get past the elections fraud and bribery.”  Mr. Harper and Co. have stolen the half billion or more of the former Canadian Wheat Board which rightfully belong to farmers. He is in the process of giving (not selling) these assets to the Saudi Arabians who are anything but democratic. Now it looks like Harper closed our veterans offices in order to pay for the Ukraine neo-Nazi government that is waging war against its own people.

Who uses public service institutions, like CRA to intimidate opposing voices. . Harper thinks attacking Putin is a sure vote-getter, instead it just makes him look like a hypocritical fool. All I can say is Mr. Harper, will you please shut up!  The last ten years at the helm Harper has only been   plotting on  how to stay in power. Harper is as bad as Brian Mulroney.  Interesting how Israel is accomplishing their goals through Canada/Harper. If you also do think Harper is a Christian, then I’m an alien from outer space!!  Harper has no values.  He’s just a hypocrite spewing talking points .

The only difference between Russian ‘Democracy’ and that of the ‘Western democratic world’ is that in Russia, Putin controls the Oligarchs. The NDP   Thomas Mulcair is  poised for clear shot at becoming prime minister as NDP surges in polls ..  All of this follows in the wake of the latest good news for the official Opposition: a Corporate Research Associates poll that shows the New Democrats resurgent in Atlantic Canada – from 14 per cent to 29 per cent in the past three months – at the expense of Justin Trudeau’s Liberals, who sagged from 56 per cent to 43 per cent.  But what really matters is Quebec, where there are strong signs that Mr. Mulcair may be able to repeat the late Jack Layton’s miraculous breakthrough of 2011. An Ipsos poll released last week has the NDP at 41 per cent in Quebec, with the Liberals far behind at 25 per cent.

Meanwhile  Quebec’s anti-corruption task force suspects Porter and four high-profile  executives involved in the construction of the McGill University Superhospital  were part of a massive fraud conspiracy.UPAC issued arrest warrants Wednesday morning for Arthur Porter, Pierre  Duhaime, Riadh Ben Aissa, Yanai Elbaz , Jeremy Morris. UPAC confirmed  Wednesday that Elbaz – the former associate director general of the MUHC – is in  custody and will be charged Thursday. Duhaime — the former CEO of SNC-Lavalin – will turn himself in to Surete du  Quebec headquarters Thursday morning, He has already been charged with fraud. Ben  Aissa — another former executive at SNC-Lavalin — has already been arrested  and questioned by police for his possible role in other plots. RCMP officers missed an opportunity to stop gunman before he entered Parliament

The   Mounties will scrutinize spending of the Senate’s top leadership along with that of several other past and sitting senators. They include Senate Speaker Leo Housakos, recently named to the top job by Prime Minister Stephen Harper; Conservative government leader Claude Carignan; and Senate Liberal caucus leader James Cowan. All three were among 21 pegged by auditor general Michael Ferguson’s report as owing money.   So the RCMP  wants to review findings on all 30 senators flagged for questionable expenses should  also start of with it’s own personnel as well.

RCMP officers missed an opportunity to stop gunman Michael Zehaf-Bibeau before he entered Parliament because a radioed warning of his approach came out “garbled,” RCMP Assistant-Commissioner Gilles Michaud said Jun 03, 2015 after the release of four reports into the Oct. 22 attack.  The report on the RCMP’s deployment on Parliament Hill, conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police, also cites a lack of “operational preparedness,” including planning, training and resources.  The report stresses the approach to security and protection on the Hill is “highly inadequate” and concludes the shooting was a “grim reminder that Canada ad the RCMP itself s ill-prepared to prevent and respond to such attacks.” The reports come as the cost ineffective  RCMP is set to assume control of a new Parliamentary Protective Service and take over sole responsibility for security in and around Parliament Hill.

A garbled police radio transmission failed to immediately alert RCMP officers that an armed Michael Zehaf Bibeau was storming Parliament Hill on Oct. 22, 2014, an Ontario Provincial Police report has found.

A woman with a baby carriage first alerted a female RCMP officer on the Hill about a man with a gun, RCMP Assistant Commissioner Gilles Michaud told a news conference Wednesday.

As the terrified woman attempted to seek shelter in the back of the officer’s cruiser, the officer tried to radio others about Zehaf Bibeau, who had forced his way inside a ministerial limo and was driving towards Centre Block.

However, the officer’s radio message came out “garbled” and no one understood what she was saying, Michaud said.

Another officer saw the limo approaching, but did not realize that Zehaf Bibeau was inside.

The gunman then made his way into Centre Block, where he was shot within seven seconds of entering the building, the OPP report says.

Zehaf Bibeau was shot 31 times, including two shots that would have been immediately fatal, according to the review.

The House of Commons and the RCMP released the redacted versions of the OPP report Wednesday. The names of all the officers and civilians involved are redacted in the OPP report.   The belief of many Parliamentarians is the RCMP officers on Parliament Hill are unhappy with their assignment and are only posted there temporarily.
