The Unseen elephant in the room.. what to do with the elderly?

Financially subsidising a relative who looks after a parent is a good idea, less costly too over an old age home.

At the present time in the province of Quebec even there is room for one in eight seniors that need to be placed in an old age homes, seniors who can no longer look after themselves and their family refuses to do so ..

On top of that there is not enough existing staff to look after the seniors in the old age homes.. Doctors and Nurses included.. Seniors tend to be more ill, sicker, need more nursing care, more distribution of pills, more looking after, more bed linen changing too, and a ratio of one nurse to 40 senior patients is totally inadequate.. never mind if they have seriously ill patients.. and forget any care during the night even..

So what is the government best proposed solution on this matter.. Euthanasia, kill them.. especially if no family members object and no family members visit them for two weeks.. you just stop feeding them and stop giving them any water and they will be dead within 5 days..

The 87-year-old victim died two months later but it was only on Nov. 21 that police received a complaint from someone close to her.

C. difficile is a bacteria found in feces that causes severe diarrhea. It’s extremely common in hospitals because people usually contract it after taking antibiotics, which can kill good bowel bacteria and allow C. difficile to grow. What’s more, the bacteria can spread through surfaces like toilets, handles and bedpans, and hospital staff can spread it by not wearing gloves or washing their hands. It’s the most common cause of infectious diarrhea in hospitals, and one in 10 patients who get it will die, regardless of how sick they were beforehand. And according to the study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal, it’s filling up already-crowded hospitals and draining the health-care system. A study by Quebec’s public health research institute (INSPQ) shows deaths related to clostridium difficile infections in 2010-2011 were the highest they’ve been since 2004. A total of 619 Quebecers died from C. difficile over the course of 2010 and 2011. And one death is always still one too many here too.. C. difficile is most often acquired in hospital, and the disease is highly contagious. According to the study, the McGill Montreal General had the fourth-highest incidence rate of C. difficile infection in the period studied, with 15.4 cases per 10,000 patient days. The McGill Jewish General Hospital was even harder hit over that time period, with 16.9 cases per 10,000 patient days. As I had here seen it firsthand.. It also pops up whenever a house cleaning isn’t rigorous. The causes are are well known. There is a false reluctance to prevent it’s spread by doing more active cleaning as it costs money to do this.

“The symbol of Quebec’s high-tech know-how, the computer industry, took a hit from the province’s interim auditor-general, Michel Samson, this week. He said computer companies, many of which are Montreal based, exercise only “weak competition” for the half-billion dollars in contracts that the province lavishes on computerization in a typical year. They also benefit from hefty cost overruns. Sound familiar?

Although Samson found no evidence of collusion or corruption (that’s not his job), he recommends that the provincial committees that review bids demonstrate “more neutrality.”

Finally, the federal agency that oversees one of Montreal’s top tourist draws, the Old Port, took an even stronger hit. The federal government, the Old Port’s owner, said Thursday it will abolish the Old Port Corp. and hand management of the site to Canada Lands Co., an agency with little expertise in running such a site. Public Works Minister Rona Ambrose said she was considering the change even before last spring’s headlines about expense-account abuse by the Old Port’s CEO, Claude Benoît. But Ambrose also said she was making the change in the interest of “good governance” — something the Old Port Corp. evidently could not provide.

What makes this week’s developments all the more discouraging, of course, is that they are hardly isolated. Several other prominent Quebec-based global engineering companies besides SNC-Lavalin have had their integrity strongly questioned. As well, police are investigating not only the McGill real-estate transaction but also one involving the Université de Montréal and Catania. And so far as federal bodies go, the Montreal office of Canada Revenue Agency has been shown to be riddled with officials in bed with tax cheaters.

So a grey cloud also hangs over the McGill University Health Centre, a symbol of the anglophone community’s ongoing place in Quebec. Duhaime’s fraud charge involves his successful effort to land the contract for the MUHC’s $1.3-billion hospital.

Authorities have not stated the specifics of the accusation, so the nature of the MUHC’s involvement is uncertain. However, La Presse reported on Oct. 1 that police are investigating whether SNC-Lavalin made an irregular payment of $22.5 million to get the contract in 2010; it also said police are looking into whether Dr. Arthur Porter, the head of the MUHC until a year ago, was involved.

The reality among cancer researchers is that they’ve cured cancer thousands of times—in mice. But when it comes to ridding humans of the devastating illness, it’s a far different story. It takes much more trial and money too especially if you are not a part of the old Boy’s club.. Cancer Researchers’ biggest challenge: getting industry or governmental support for further research..

Back in 2007, Dr. Evangelos Michelakis, a professor at the University of Alberta department of medicine, discovered along with and colleagues that DCA might help slow cancer growth. DCA is a common compound that has been used for years to treat children with inborn mitochondrial diseases, by “boosting” and normalizing their mitochondria. Michelakis wondered whether DCA could also help repair the damage cancer causes to mitochondria. In test of lab rats, his team found that DCA did help reprogram cancer cell mitochondria, thereby stunting the growth of lung, breast and brain tumours in both rats and in human tissue samples. What’s more, the drug left healthy cells healthy, unlike other cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation. Because healthy cells don’t have the same mitochondrial changes as cancer cells, the DCA left them unchanged. This inexpensive drug already in use for other diseases might hold the key to a completely new way of treating cancers — not by killing off cancer cells, but by simply reprogramming them. The finding comes from some exciting Canadian research on patients with brain tumours. The study found that DCA — or dichloroacetate — can shrink the tumours by altering a cancer cell’s metabolism. While the study was small — just five patients were studied — the researchers say their findings are “proof in principle” that the treatment approach works. Dr. Evangelos Michelakis notes that all of the studies they’ve undertaken thus far on DCA have come with the support of the University of Alberta and public donations. An old drug once routinely used as a treatment for schizophrenia appears to have a hidden talent, Canadian researchers have discovered: neutralizing cancer stem cells while leaving healthy cells intact. The discovery is an important one, since traditional chemotherapy and radiation often fail to eradicate cancer stem cells, which are cells that can lurk in the body, replicating themselves over and over, causing certain kinds of cancer to return. But a team of scientists at McMaster University has discovered that thioridazine, a medication used as the antipsychotic and to treat Parkinson’s disease, can target cancer stem cells and change them into cells that are non-cancerous. The next step is to test thioridazine in clinical trials on cancer patients. The first study will focus on 30 patients with acute myeloid leukemia, or AML, whose disease has relapsed after chemotherapy.

The Bible defines them as undeniable sins. It is, indeed, the Holy Spirit’s job to convict, but it is the job of Christians, particularly Christian leaders, to teach what God’s Word says in its entirety, which includes teaching about what constitutes sinful behavior. Articulating what the Bible teaches about SIN no more constitutes unscriptural judging than does articulating what the Bible teaches about lying, stealing, idolatry, blasphemy, or adultery.

It is also COMMON fact of life, particularly amongst the young, inexperienced, realy bad persons who realy hate the truth or they cannot handle serious , heavy negative realties that false denial, ostrich approach is a serious part of their make up, and their related defense protection when you cannot discredit the facts, you make a false personal attack on the writer, persons instead.

The Hallmark of a democratic society is unregulated press and the right of free speech of all persons citizens, without any of them being bullied , lied about, slandered but unfortunately tis is not always the case not even on the Internet, not even especially in the Christian Internet where your post can be twisted, lied about distorted, censored or yourself banned from making posts, likley by the same religious control freaks who would kill Jesus Christ today as well.

They even try to tell us what to write.. How all now absurd. When most aNy person no matter who he says he is too now does tries to enforce any rule upon me I immediate rightfully do next often do ask them who they think they are that they think I now have to respect their man made rules over God’s rules firstly? What makes them now also think I have to be now their false slave too? And as to why do they think I am their false slave and that they are any kind of boss over me in these matters?

These same bad persons who tend to too readily judge others, and who to often falsely demand, want to enforce their one side rules upon the others, they themselves are now also the lying hypocrites. We all have a right to be heard, to speak, on the net as well.. 30 percent of the people I meet daily in real life are the bad guys that jails exist for still too.. and they should be put in there often too.

The critics as well CAN SPEAK but THEY still cannot call us all the bad names they want or bully us though.

So overall still now what really is needed firstly is not more CHEAP, PRETENTIOUS self regulations, the supposed discipline of their members , or even their ensuring their education, but real INSPECTIONS, EFFECTIVENESS , competency testing. For it is a fact that anything that will put a self regulating body or a Ministry into a negative light will have a built in tendency still to be denied, suppressed, minimized in reality, to be ineffective .

There in reality is the main one important step that all consumers can take to protect themselves from any unscrupulous persons and that is enforced, exemplary public exposure and prosecution of the supposedly guilty persons by a recognized judicial public body, and so now how many such bad persons now have really been exposed, prosecuted in the last few years in reality too by the responsible Ministers as well? None? and why not?

It is clearly established, accepted fact by most people that those in leadership civil and public servants cops, teachers, ministers, politicians included are always to be exemplary in behavior, conduct and they do need to maintain their high standards even out of their working hours, thus to do so they are also to be exemplary judged, prosecuted for their own wrong doings with a higher standard over those of us ordinary folks. Public exposure and prosecution of the guilty is one of the best approach serving everyone’s best interest too. “In the case of police, it is in everyone’s best interest that there is full, effective, independent, transparent and objective oversight. It goes without saying that an absence of effective oversight will inevitably result in the erosion of the community’s confidence .

Drunk drivers still cause most of the car accidents but the police prefer to go after speeding tickets, it is easier to to get the speeders.. and very profitable, sadly it also ties up our courts with the mostly unnecessary cases too.

If you are an alcoholic you should be immediately fired from your job, even if you are an MP, Senator, or an MPP, MLA, a cop , civil and public servant.

So rightfully do Fire all the drunks, alcoholics, tax payer money abusers in the government firstly too. The Quebec government plans to create an independent body to investigate incidents involving police. Public Security Minister Stéphane Bergeron confirmed Wednesday that “in the following weeks,” the ruling Parti Québécois would follow through on its pledge to assemble a civilian police oversight agency. Currently, investigations into incidents involving police that result in serious injury or death are handled by officers from another force.But having “police investigate police” has been strongly denounced by the Quebec Human Rights Commission and the provincial ombudsman. Several other provinces have independent police oversight bodies, though some of them are staffed by current or former police officers. Ontario has one for serious incidents and another for less-grave cases, while Alberta and British Columbia also have agencies.

Quebec’s cops for the last 50 years too now have always been as bad as our Quebec Politicians..

Montreal City hall was too busy prosecuting citizens for parking violations, working hard at revenue more generation and not working at all to reduce the taxpayer’s costs.. Other mayors and their subordinates clearly have been corrupted now as well.. “The corruption is not only in construction, it is in the courts too as People paying their lawyers large sums of money (cash) to avoid jail sentences?” The governments behaviour has clearly been disgusting even in all of this. The PM and the RCMP even here should be forced to step in and setup a team of investigators, and deal with all the corruptions, criminals now too. The rest of the Bad Guys think they are got away but many already know who they are and have little respect for them too.

Canadian Justice is too often an empty one. The establishment cover ups for it’s own but eventually they are still found out as to who they realy are.. liars, crooks, thieves,..

One of the clearest ways that still indicates the Canadian governments lack of viability, real sincerity in dealing with the abuses, offences, tax payers wastes, thefts, for me is indicated not just how the realy deal with the criminals, the white collared crimminals now too but also by their lack of reply to my very detailed, personal letters of complaints to them, or their responsive lies to them and that is also still unacceptable

When you criticize openly the bad persons , especially bad cops, doctors, nurses, professionals you tend to
get a false denial, remark in response like you are crazy, you need professional help. They still really cannot face the reality there are things in their life that need serious, drastic changes. These people in denial are the ones who often need professional help for their own short comings, sickness. Their false denial, diversion, distortion does not change the negative reality about their own unacceptable acts. Corruptions occurs now Not just in Churches, amongst the police, politicians, civil and public servants.

Enforced laws and Exemplary Public exposure and prosecution of the guilty persons serves not only as a valid deterrent nut it also serves everyone’s best interest, the criminals and the abusers included. Follow the money trail, one of the sure way to find corruptions.

You cannot fool all the people all the time and now matter how smart you are there is still someone more wiser who can see the truth still too.. Now I myself was perturbed that with all the vast amount of the taxpayer’s money being spend in Quebec clearly very little was also done overall now to control it, to account for it, to manage it properly, including to prosecute all of the the abusers at the federal, provincial, municipal levels, even in city hall, universities, hospitals and the police forces now too, and I rightfully had indicated it openly in wring for many decades now as well.

All the governments have been unacceptably now still too too soft on white collared crimes, , taxpayers money absues and evasions even in Quebec. And that was and is always unacceptable to most citizens cause when money is abused it is no longer available to social, Medicare programs that are still essential.

We have recently seen 2 liberals premiers out of office, mayors being exposed for their alleged corruptions, would learn as well and clearly the hand d writing has been on the wall indicating the end of many persons involvements into corruptions and you would think by now the others would learn by now that crimes do not pay and lies and cover-ups, false denials do not work. .

This is what they call improved Medical Care?

The Montreal Notre Dame and St Luc Hospitals have severely degenerated in the last year as I have witnessed myself. They have become too high and mighty, falsely indifferent to real patient care too now.. the medical personnel , resources are not being properly managed and no one falsely cares to do anything about it. Severe budget cuts here would drastically improve their overall performances now firstly, get their attention .. ..

Here also is what I know for sure as well, too many people especialy the health care Ministers are still liars, pretenders and lazy too, so good Medicare does not come along automatically, as promised rather too often you have to falsely still in Canada fight for it, persevere for it too. It seems also that too many of the rather still bad Administrators in the Hospitals still do think their job falsely is to let the medical workers have a easier job, let them have a great special time, and they all seem to forget that Hospitals man reasons for existence is to help and to deal firstly with the sick.. any propsoed medical program insuring that more citizens can get access to either more nurses, doctors, clinics that still does not insure they get the immediate medical help they need! How do I know that? I have written about it on the net the last 20 years at least my experiences with even about 100 different Montreal Doctors… Myself, my senior father and my senior Mother I have spent the last 20 years visiting about a dozen hospitals trying to get the medical services I wanted, needed too..And Pharmacies and family doctor are all still very useless when you have a major sickness, which most people will eventually have too, .. even if you visit 5 different ones now, like many people do.. as they can only help you if you have a visible minor medical problem.. and not any major unknown problems.. or they are of help when you know what you want them to do such as give you a referral to a specific doctor.. the rest of the time they are useless cause they do not have access to the high tech medical equipment need to solve my health problems. Only the larger emergency room hospitals do..

Here are just some of the very serious Medical deficiencies that I encountered in Montreal that were still not adequately solved firstly even by my family doctors..

– Emergency room doctors and a family doctor gave me a complete good bill of health and could not see I had water on the lungs, had congestive heart failure.. even twice now..

– An emergency triage nurse at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital firstly was unable to realize that I needed Quintuplet heart Bypass surgery till I next had persisted with them for 6 weeks..

– My mother was sick, she kept on falling down, and no one admitted, recognized that she had Gastritis even when I had told them that was the problem..

– I had major skin diseases on my foot for 2 years that 6 doctors, not one Triage or family doctors, even a dermatologists were able to recognize and to deal properly with it too..

One of the best Medical service approach for dealing now with almost all major sickness is either

1: Expanding the Hospitals Emergency services departments…

2: Moving the family Doctors themselves to the local Hospitals where they can get access to the medical testing equipment..

Both approaches now would required expanding the basic medical services so they work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a week.. and not merely 9-5 Monday to Friday, Closed on Holidays as the essential doctors are all gone on Vacation..

Instead of realy improvising the medical care they had falsely spent the taxpayers money totally renovating the now even the still money losing, not used adequately Cafeteria at the Montreal Notre Dame Hospital cause their food is both tasteless and over priced. Price Gouging the Citizens Is a standard typical and still immoral practice in this Hospital now as well even through their costly vending machines. Unacceptable.. They need better administrators here too. A costly cafeteria does not help the medical staff it was mainly designed for nor next the citizens..

Face a family doctor is never enough.. especially when you get old you start to develop serious illnesses that takes now not only real medical knowledge, experiences to deal with it but it takes expensive, costly medical equipment that most doctors do not have access too and that is generally found in hospitals only so that is why many people rightfully do have to go to the Hospital emergency department too even if the LAZY employees there too do not like it!

We had waited 12 hours in the emergency waiting room at the Montreal Notre Dame Hospital to get a doctor’s results, waiting amongst the other sick patients, a place to easily acquire a hospital disease, only to be told to come back the next day again, along with 7 other persons, meanwhile there was some medical waste left on on the waiting room floor and when we came back the next day it still was there.. there was no decent house cleaning now done there as well.. the money for it was likley all spent on useless renovations of the Triage waiting room and the Cafeteria....

HEALTH MINISTERS, WHAT YOU ALSO REALY NEED TO DO IS TO ESTABLISH AN EFFECTIVE TRIAGE SYSTEM SINCE MANY REALY SICK PATIENT RIGHTFULLY RELY ON IT SINCE MANY CHARGE HAPPY PRETENTIOUS DOCTORS ARE STILL PRETENTIOUS, USELESS, INCOMPETENT. SELF REGULATION HERE TOO DOES NOT WORK CLEARLY

In the last few years, decade at least going to the Emergency department myself, with my elderly father or with my elderly mother I have been to at least ten hospitals in Montreal and while each one claims to be doing the same thing each one seems to run by a different standard, and uses a different approach too..I could not belive that there is still undeniably not even one decent proven, effective standard working triage program for all Hospitals. They all are dictatorial and they still seem to have major patient neglect, and much too many incompetent, pretentious doctors and nurses too..And I used to falsely believe that the medical service was here to help the sick persons in Quebec rather it is the type of medical services you would expect to find in a third worked country and not in Quebec Canada.

NOW IN ONE HOSPITAL’S TRIAGE 5 DOCTORS GAVE ME DIFFERENT OPTIONS AS TO THE CAUSE OF MY MEDICAL PROBLEMS. IN ONE TRIAGE THE DOCTOR LIED AS TO HIS ACTUAL QUALIFICATIONS, HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT SKIN DISEASES. IN ANOTHER HOSPITAL USELESS DOCTOR DEATH WOULD SEND MOST OF THE ELDERLY SENIORS NOW AS BEING WELL. IN AN ANOTHER HOSPITAL THE DOCTOR COULD ONLY SEND THE SICK PATIENT TO A PRIVATE CLINIC FOR FURTHER REFERRAL.IN ANOTHER HOSPITAL THE USELESS DOCTOR WOULD PRESCRIBED AN ANTI DEPRESSANT FOR THE PATIENT CAUSE HE COULD NOT OR WOULD NOT HELP THE SICK PATIENT.
