OTTAWA – A clearly perverted Ontario Court of Justice, judge acquitted former privacy commissioner George Radwanski of fraud and breach of trust in an expense scandal that dates back more than five years of Lavish dining on the taxpayer’s dime saying falsely that George Radwanski may have fallen from favour, but that doesn’t make George Radwanski acts a criminal offence. George Radwanski rang up more than $24,000 in hospitality expenses during his less than three years in the privacy job, before a damning audit, a political storm and criminal charges drove him to quit in disgrace in 2003. ” Radwanski’s culinary extravagance made him the poster boy for charges of rot in the former Liberal government of Jean Chretien. “Radwanski was “clearly negligent” in accounting for his expenses, wrote the judge. He lacked frugality in his use of taxpayer dollars and but there was “no allegation of any fabrication or falsification,” said the judgment. ” “The court finding is a far cry from that of Auditor General Sheila Fraser, whose incendiary 2003 report on the privacy commissioner’s office led to an RCMP investigation and charges. At the time, Fraser flatly asserted there was an “abuse of public funds by the former commissioner and some senior executives, for their personal benefit.” She added that top executives “turned a blind eye to breaches of law and policy.” It’s worth noting that business dried up at several high-end restaurants in the national capital region after the Radwanski affair and at least one went out of business. “
Now rightfully fire, get rid of the judge and the prosecutors now too.
Let us all be clear about it too, pigging out, living high on the hog, or patronistic hiring practices is clearly an unacceptable abuse, theft of the tax payer s money for certainty, taxpayer’s money were never, never even intended out for this mater.
The whole truth comes out.. about the drunk drivers, snow removal, road accidents, recession, Harper.. but first can anyone tell me why the poor managers allow all these civil bad public servants, senators, aides, MPs, MLA’s, MPP’s in municipalities, provinces, Canada wide, fly all over the country, world wide, eat fine food, drink alcohol, in fine restaurants at taxpayer’s expense while the country is in a big recession?
