A new study has found most Canadians think the internet is their best source for news, but they would not be willing to pay up if websites started charging them to read their stories online. When asked whether TV, newspapers or the internet provided news and information that was most interesting to them, 52 per cent of respondents said the internet was the best source.   The University of British Columbia survey of nearly 1,700 Canadians reveals 81 per cent say they won’t pay to read news on the internet, and 90 per cent would find free alternatives if their preferred news websites started charging for content. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/windsor/story/2011/04/13/technology-internet-news-online.html

The news on the TV was, is  free and so this study should come as no surprise..  http://news.google.com/nwshp?hl=en&tab=Tn&edchanged=1&ned=ca&authuser=0

..  keep up the good work but Canada is a professing Christian country yet the CBC falsely promotes gays and unacceptable talks very little about Christianity even which for the last 200 years has rightfully opposed gays..

,

Canada is a professing Christian country yet the CBC bashes the Christians and  falsely promotes gays and unacceptable talks very little about Christianity even which for the last 2000 years has rightfully opposed gays and gay marriages.. The CBC is FALSELY anti Christian or  why then  is the CBC giving so much publicity, programming rather  to the  Jews, Muslims too as  even the CBC spy series X Company is full of  Jewish Propaganda, where they have to bash US ALL  with the Jews being persecuted over and over on our heads , but  how many non Jews, the Christians  were killed by the NAZIS, Jews  and are still being killed by the  Muslims today.  DOES THE CBC HAVE A MAJOR  SHOW ON THIS TOO . CHRISTIAN PERSECUTIONS? NO!   https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2015/04/17/cbc/

All Cops need to go after real criminals still

 .

People in leadership office do have to face higher penalties as an example now too. It is clearly established, accepted fact by most people that those in leadership civil and public servants cops, teachers, ministers, politicians included  are always to be exemplary in behavior,  conduct and they do need to maintain their high standards even out of their working hours, thus to do so they are also to be exemplary  judged, prosecuted  for their own wrong doings with a higher standard over those of us ordinary folks.

.

The self serving political watchdogs, the police forces in Canada  in reality they  still do too  often lie when they say they serve the citizen’s, public best interests..

.

Too many police officers are now too often guilty of their most serious neglect of public trust and their duty. The related truth is that neither an independent police investigation, a new police commissioner,  a promised provincial or federal investigation, or just more politicians promises too often still   will not bring the much needed justice. All of the governments can prohibit the initial and further employment of any known racists for any jobs, and can  punish them for their racists acts, views.

.

Police managers continue to lie with their own promises of the reforming of bad cops and the bad cops keep killing, abusing  innocent persons. The possible retraining of bad  police officers is always anyway a false myth. What thus is always needed is the real  the dismissal, criminal prosecution, of the guilty cops. So where is it?

.

Speeding is not the main cause of car accidents, impaired driving is, but too many cops are alcoholics it seems who wrongfully do sympathize with drunks and as a result do not arrest drunks all year..

.

Ontario stands firm on street racing law Toronto Star  A judge overturned the stunt-driving conviction of Jane Raham, 62, of Oakville who accelerated past a truck to get out of its blind spot. A second Ontario judge has ruled that the province’s stunt driving legislation is unconstitutional, but provincial police say they will continue to lay charges under the so-called street racing law.A street-racing charge automatically leads to a conviction, which can carry a minimum fine of $2,000, an immediate driver suspension and vehicle impoundment, as well as a maximum jail sentence of six months.Justice Peter West, a provincial court judge in Newmarket, found that an accused driver’s Charter rights are “clearly infringed” by the potential jail time because the law doesn’t permit the person to put forward a defence. More than 15,000 drivers have been charged under the stunt driving laws since they were introduced in 2007, Ont. street-racing law constitutional, says AG CTV.ca

Judge tosses stunt-driving charge as unconstitutional National Post

EVEN COPS DO NOT THINK SPEEDING IS A SERIOUS CRIME…

Feb. 10 2009 4:35:51 PM  The Canadian Press  TORONTO — It appears no one is exempt from Ontario’s street racing law — including the police. A provincial police officer in an unmarked vehicle was stopped on Highway 403 on Jan. 31 for driving 65 km/h over the limit. Det.-Const. Heidi Fischer was charged after an investigation determined she was “not within the lawful execution of her duties at the time.” Because she was charged with exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h, her driver’s licence was suspended for seven days — and her police vehicle was also impounded for a week..

ALL THESE HARSHER POLICE DEMANDS ARE MAKING CANADA  A  POLICE STATE  Giving more money to the polcie does not increase justice rather it tends to make a police state instead..

It is billed by the London Police Department Chief as “the best (shooting) range in Ontario.” At $22 million, it is certainly modern but one of the features might sit poorly with judges and civil libertarians.  While police can shoot a fleeing suspect that presents an imminent threat to the public, it is relatively rare in most crimes and raises obvious questions under Tennessee v. Garner. The entire project will ultimately cost $32 million and the facility’s gun range is billed as training officers to do a range of shooting,
http://jonathanturley.org/2009/12/09/canadian-police-department-builds-new-firing-range-that-helps-train-officers-how-to-shoot-fleeing-suspects/

Meanwhile  a Toronto doctor is facing a disciplinary hearing over allegations he approved special meal allowances for people on welfare and disability programs according to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.  Dr. Roland Wong,  said he continues to approve applications for the special diet but only if he believes patients have an underlying medical condition that qualifies them for the financial supplement.  “Today, I signed maybe five, four,” he said. “Sometimes more, depends.”  He accused the auditor general of having a very “slanted view” of the program, and suggested he should be looking instead at the woefully inadequate support payments paid to people in need.  Wong said he wasn’t overly concerned about the disciplinary hearing because it was based on a complaint laid against him by a municipal councillor.  “This is a case of politicians against a physician, not the patient against the physician,” he said.  The Special Diet Allowance provides up to $250 per month to a person on social assistance who requires special foods for such conditions as diabetes.  Councillor Doug Holyday said  . “This can’t go on.”  http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/torsun/091209/canada/doc_faces_probe_over_dietary_payouts     Quebec and other provinces have no such adequate help program and why?

It is not the rapists, drunk drivers that mostly  fill the courts calendars, docks it is mostly the revenue generating traffic tickets.. if the government wants to get tough on crime, as it purports, it should go after the real criminals. Drunk, impaired drivers too.  After all speeding is not the major cause of vehicular accidents, what you did not know that yet? and the police Chief himself did not tell you? What is then the cause of major car accidents? Drunk driving, road rage, impaired driving, distracted while driving…. and what the revenue generating traffic division has not gone after all this mostly instead yet too? and why Not? The Cops becoming judge and jury, now taking the law into their own hands  even when they still say ” In most cases, our cops are the best to judge if stunt driving is really stunt driving. Or, is it simply speeding. If that is the case, they should charge accordingly or face more legal challenges.” And them the cops still being continually soft on drunk drivers is cause too many cops do  drink alcohol now too?  https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/09/10/speeding-is-not-the-major-cause-of-car-accidents-still/

Alcoholic Anonymous  helps  alcoholics  AND EVEN HOSPITALS ARE FOR ALL PERSONS. FURTHER MORE WHEN THE TAXPAYER’S MONEY IS ABUSED BY THIEVES, or bad civil and public servants, AND TOO MANY ALCOHOLICS, IT IS THE PROGRAMS, SERVICES TO THE POOR AND NEEDY PERSONS THAT ARE GENERALLY FIRST MADE TO PAY FOR IT. WE NEED BETTER BUDGET CONTROLS AND BETTER PUNISHMENT OF THE BAD GUYS TOO.IN ONE YEAR 60% of fatally injured drivers in Canada had a positive reading for blood alcohol and 160,000 people were convicted of impaired driving .

And   generally alcohol-related driving offences account for approximately 25% of all Criminal Code prosecutions.

If you drink and drive, it’s everybody’s business  still. https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2008/11/11/no-rcmp-alcoholics-it-seems/

This also offers a Canadian window into the state’s overwrought preoccupation with making money at all costs, disregarding the citizens concerns too. Sadly Like too many political parties it seems the citizens mainly do not count, their views or needs, desires. they only count on election days. I was once talking to deputy Minister Ken Kowalski of Alberta about this as to why and he replied cause in Alberta they do not pay the taxes. But rather the real reason is the too often lack of respect for the all of citizens still by our leaders, civil and public servants most political parties Canada wide.. Police, RCMP’s unacceptable, poor attitudes towards most of the citizens now as well

Bit Torrent – P2P sites -network traffic -Network Neutrality

today2

Bell ITSELF NOW WANTS TO MAKE MORE MONEY SELLING MOVIES DIRECTLY TO YOU ON THE NET SO IT READILY WANTS TO ACT LIKE BIG BROTHER POLICE TOO AND FORBID YOU TO DOWNLOAD ANY SUPPOSEDLY PIRATED MATERIAL.. AND WHAT ELSE WILL IT TRY TO CENSOR NOW TOO? BELL THE BIG DIABOLICAL POLICE STATE NOW TOO?

NOW FOR A START TOO LET MY GOVERNMENT OF CANADA RIGHTFULLY LOOK FIRST FULLY AFTER THE CITIZENS BEST INTEREST , CONSUMER PROTECTION AND NOT THE INTEREST OF BIG BUSINESS MAINLY TOO.

“Canadian officials are taking part in negotiations for a top-secret copyright treaty that could see families barred from the Internet for a year if someone in the household is suspected of illegal downloads.Under the worldwide rules of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), Internet service providers such as Bell and Rogers in Canada would be required to become copyright police and filter out pirated material from their networks, hand over the identities of customers believed to be infringing copyrights and restrict the use of identity-blocking software.ACTA would employ a three-strikes policy. People believed to be regularly downloading copy-protected material, such as movie and music files, could have their Internet connection severed for up to 12 months and forced to pay a fine. “It’s incredibly disproportionate. Three unproven allegations of infringement will cut off Internet service for a year for an entire family,” said Michael Geist, who holds the Canada Research Chair in Internet and e-commerce Law at the University of Ottawa.”It’s not based on the individual user, it’s based on the connection,” added Geist, who said he has received details of the proposals from people closely associated with drafting the agreement. The treaty, which is being pushed forward by the Office of the United States Trade Representative, closely mimics the controversial Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that governs copyright issues in the U.S. It puts in place measures that would make it illegal for consumers to make backup copies of DVDs or other media with built-in copy-protection technology. Other provisions could make information on iPods, laptops and other personal electronic devices illegal and force travellers to prove to border officials that the content on such devices was acquired through legal channels.  http://www.calgaryherald.com/business/Canada+talks+over+copyright+laws+with+bite/2189494/story.html

“All of the computer internet P2P growth we’ve seen over the past several months is in the torrent community,” Free Bit Torrent usage still  soars as Bell, Videotron and others have  put caps  against P2P USERS, sites.  Both the music, movie industries  and many of the big Internet Service Providers now all do see P2P file-sharing of movies, films, TV shows,  pictures, wallpapers, music, books, magazines,  games, software, other, etc., as a very real threat to their maximum profitability. Greed and profitability clearly has overtaken them.. Bit Torrent TV Documentaries, History, TV shows themselves are increasingly becoming popular world wide , and are being bundled into multi-episode packs. “Many People are migrating towards three packs, six packs, and even whole seasons,” Bell and Videotron themselves now are in a false conflict of customer interest cause they rent movies, games too.

All of the  governments should now step in given the justified rising anti-competitive, anti monopoly sentiment nation wide, curbing their monopoly sectors from grabbing, gouging  exorbitant profits from the customers,  and preventing these monopoly sectors from taking advantage of their market position to overcharge consumers.  Encouraging real, valid competition, for example, is the ultimate way of breaking up monopolies. But the government some times instead  sticks to price controls or no controls to tackle the monopoly problem. The governments can deal  with monopolized interests only if it gathers adequate political will.

Broadband campaign spurs 20,000 letters to MPs. A public relations and lobbying campaign launched by small internet providers for government intervention in the broadband market has spurred more than 20,000 letters to MPs, the companies say. The Coalition for Competitive Broadband, a group led by Winnipeg-based MTS Allstream and made up of more than 50 small internet providers and the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses, launched a website two weeks ago to muster support against several recent regulatory decisions. I think its time it [the Internet] became a public utility like power and water.” A campaign for government intervention in the telecom market as well… I think most of us is sick of “paying among the highest cellphone bills in the developed world”.  CRTC is not protecting regular Canadian’s interest. http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2009/09/24/broadband-competition-coalition-numbers.html Competitive Broadband website

The United States is moving toward enshrining a free and open internet with six proposed rules designed to prevent telecommunications companies from interfering with how people use their connections. The rules are needed because American internet providers have interfered with internet traffic on a number of occasions and they must be prevented from doing so in the future, said Federal Communications Commission chairman Julius Genachowski.   Long overdue in Canada. The Hydro company does not check what brand of appliance I plug in to determine my power consumption.  Telecoms should not be “packet sniffing” to determine my connection speed. Canada needs some net-neutrality guarantees as well to prevent the telecom oligopoly from their dirty tricks. The CRTC needs to start working for us instead of the big companies. They should also put in some guidelines on acceptable marketing strategies for ISP’s. The “up to 10 Mbps” is really misleading when all you ever see is 500 Kbps. It should be based on the average expected speed and we should be getting a credit if we do not get those speeds. It takes American law to show our government what Canadian people have been asking for years.   http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2009/09/21/fcc-formal-net-neutrality-rules-crtc.html

The peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic is a dominant type of Internet traffic today, consuming up to 30% of all Internet backbone traffic. P2P applications consume a lion share of ISP network capacity, consuming the ISP  bandwidth . The Pirate Bay bragged that after a Danish ISP was forced to block its subscribers from accessing the Swedish site, traffic spiked. TPB attributes the increase from the publicity surrounding the ISP’s action. Those new to P2P seem to be jumping on the BitTorrent bandwagon.  “All of the growth is in the torrent community, which maybe suggests that the audience for traditional P2P is mature.”

Consumers are readily able to access freely any of the many  torrent sites day and night, and totally freely  download at will now too, no  initial or ongoing costs too, even sites like the all free   TV Team, EZTV,  BTARENA TorrentBoxTorrent Reactor,  Torrent Hound,  Summo ,  Your Bittorrent Pirate Bay, http://mightynova.com/ etc..  But you’ll need a free  BitTorrent client like uTorrent before .torrent links on any site would work. Great free torrent download software now has made it all possible.. the software like the free µTorrent which is the world’s most popular BitTorrent client. Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in µTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading and Mainline DHT (compatible with BitComet).

Recently  a press release was issued   suggested something quite startling — HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol, aka Web traffic) had for the first time in four years overtaken P2P. The   WWW web surfing is outpacing file sharing. Ironically, this growing is due the popularization of tools that allow users to share the files via www, tools like YouTube and Flicker. However a new article from Slyck disputes this, and contends that P2P remains the bandwidth heavyweight.   P2P (which is a class of applications, not a specific protocol) was created to deal with huge files)    Another  report based on data from   US and European ISPs claims P2P traffic has mostly dropped to around 20% of all Internet traffic,   down from the 40% two years ago  likely due to continued, widespread ISP P2P capping and MOST CONSUMER HAVE NOT BEEN HAPPY ABOUT THIS NOW AT ALL TOO. .

Do always  check your actual ISP speed http://www.acanac.ca/speedtest/  check for the blatant theft-corruption on a daily basis and ask them to fix it immediately as well..

Today, there are four main ways  to address P2P network traffic growth –

 • ISP Pricing and Policies – modifying subscription plans from unlimited to usage based pricing which is very unpopular too, it seems doubtful that subscribers used to unlimited plans will tolerate new pricing. Competitive disadvantage compared to ISPs offering flat-rate pricing

Purchasing Additional Bandwidth – buying transit bandwidth to accommodate network growth from increased P2P usage unfortunately ISP suppliers are trying to gouge the customers here too

Traffic Shaping – utilizing deep packet inspection devices to throttle or completely discriminately block P2P traffic and rightfully the customers, users see his as harassment, a contract violation and shaping P2P traffic limits future ISP revenue opportunities from more P2P services.

P2P Caching – utilizing P2P caches to cache and serve P2P content- Content caching is a well-known and established technology used by ISPs primarily for acceleration of Web content delivery. It Generates bandwidth without additional backbone investments but an Upfront investment is  required.  P2P caching, similar to Web caching, temporarily stores popular content flowing into the ISP network. If the content requested by a subscriber is available from a cache, cache satisfies the request from its temporary storage, eliminating data transfer through expensive transit line. With estimates of over 75% of P2P content is requested multiple times, P2P content responds well to caching, manifesting high reuse patterns. Once a P2P Cache is established, the network transparently redirects all P2P traffic to a cache which either serves the file directly or passes the request onto a remote P2P user and simultaneously caches that file for the next user. Estimates are that P2P caches have seen an amazing 80% byte hit ratio, meaning that 4 of 5 files requested via P2P can be served by the cache. This is significantly much higher than http/web caching. P2P Caching is the only solution that enables ISPs to fully and affordably embrace P2P on their networks. Instead of growing bandwidth to meet increasing demand, or limiting P2P usage through policies or traffic shaping, P2P Caching lets ISPs simultaneously serve the needs of P2P and non-P2P users without negatively impacting either audience. In fact, P2P Caching provides an improved experience for all subscribers – P2P users whose file sharing is improved through using the cache, and non-P2P users who experience better performance from networks un-congested from P2P traffic. http://www.peerapp.com/docs/ComparingP2P.pdf

The Canadian cellphone and internet speeds, rates are unacceptably among world’s worst, Canadians are being hosed for more and more money for their access still too.   Rogers, Bell, Videotron, Shaw, Telus all only care about one thing.. maximum profits.. motivated by maximum greed.. finding an excuse to charge the customer for more.. and that they have done with their regulating, capping… and no one cares about what the consumer thinks, even the  politicians, governments, the CRTC included.  No companies provide a FULL  service or an adequate  product it seems these days…. all they provide mainly now is more profits for themselves hopefully. And as long as we allow them to do so, by letting companies and industries run roughshod over the governance of the country, then also the corprote bad service, lies, price gouging  will continue. Good Products and good services falsely are a distant second in offerings in relation to corporate profits.

“Canada lags in wireless service …   … and what should be done about it   By Michael Geist, Citizen  August 25, 2009 Where does Canada stand with respect to the cost of wireless services?  the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development released new figures that ranked it as the third most expensive developed country.  Given that consumers have a hard time making sense of the different plans, options, and hidden fees offered by Canada’s big three wireless providers (Rogers, Bell and Telus), it should come as little surprise that comparisons of wireless services across dozens of countries is exceptionally difficult. Some countries charge consumers for both incoming and outgoing calls, while many others do not. Moreover, hidden charges such as Canada’s system access fee — which can add as much as 25 per cent to a monthly bill — are often excluded from cost calculations. While the debate will continue to rage, few currently hold Canada up as a model of wireless leadership.

If not pricing, what should policy makers and politicians be focusing on? Four main issues come to mind.
-The first is competition, particularly among GSM providers. While this will change later this year, for the moment Rogers is the only GSM provider in the country. Since GSM has emerged as the dominant global wireless technology, this has had big consequences for consumer choice and marketplace competition. Most new devices, such as the popular Apple iPhone, are available only for GSM providers, meaning that Rogers has enjoyed a virtual monopoly on the hottest devices.  There is another spectrum auction on the horizon that holds the possibility of opening the door to further competitors, particularly if Industry Minister Tony Clement is willing to revisit foreign ownership restrictions.
-The auction also provides an opportunity to address the second issue — wireless net neutrality. The current “walled garden” approach adopted by Canadian carriers, in which they frequently control the applications that run on their networks, has already attracted the attention of the CRTC. It has ruled that new regulatory requirements are needed to counter the resulting competition concerns.
-Transparency in pricing should also be addressed. Canadian carriers continue to levy system access fees as a separate charge, despite the fact that they are nothing more than an additional cost to consumers. Moreover, carriers often bury significant usage restrictions in the fine print, leaving consumers without a true sense of the cost of their mobile phones. Clear guidelines on disclosures would enable consumers to better choose among providers.
-Fourth, the length of consumer contracts further stymies competition. Canadian wireless carriers attempt to lock consumers into contracts for far longer than virtually any other developed country, with three-year contracts considered the norm. Several years ago, Canada instituted wireless number portability that allows consumers to keep their numbers when switching providers. While designed to fuel greater competition, the policy has largely failed, owing to the combined effect of a single GSM provider (meaning consumers often lose their device when switching providers) and long-term contracts.
Canadians should be focused on competition, walled gardens, pricing transparency, and a cap on contractual terms. “
Michael Geist holds the Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-commerce Law at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. He can reached at mgeist@uottawa.ca or online at www.michaelgeist.cahttp://www.canada.com/technology/Canada+lags+wireless+service/1926050/story.html

On Monday, the US FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski  outlinined  plans to turn the agency’s principles for open Internet access into official regulation.  In addition to making sure that network operators cannot prevent users from accessing lawful Internet content, applications, and services of their choice, or attaching unharmful devices to the network, Genachowski wants to add two more rules.   The first would prevent Internet access providers from discriminating against particular Internet content or applications, while allowing for reasonable network management. The second principle would ensure that Internet access providers are transparent about the network management practices they implement. But the regulation that Genachowski is proposing will not apply to just wireline broadband networks, such as DSL and cable modem service. It will also apply to wireless services. Wireless carriers shouldn’t be allowed to block certain types of Internet traffic flowing over their networks.

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said wireless carriers should be subject to the same “open Internet” principles that the agency has begun to apply to home broadband providers. The FCC is already investigating the state of competition in the wireless market. Even though there are four major nationwide carriers–AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel, and T-Mobile USA–the majority of the market is controlled by two carriers. And their dominance is increasing.  And the US President Obama’s anti-trust cop Christine Varney is now also  reviewing, a Bottleneck Monopoly,   the Telecom  wireless companies’ exclusive handset deals–most notably AT&T’s monopoly control over Apple’s iPhone. The US  Congress is starting to wonder whether it’s fair business.  It’s the first step in what could be a regulatory road; one that could result in major shake-ups inside the cell industry. Congress is bringing this up now because rural cell phone companies have complained that exclusivity agreements are unfair to small carriers. When the national bullies have exclusive rights to a phone, the rural cousins do also  have to peddle inferior devices. The Justice Department may also review whether telecom carriers are unduly restricting the types of services other companies can offer on their networks.  The Australian government raised pressure on Australia’s largest telecommunications company Telstra Corp.  to surrender its market domination by splitting its wholesale and retail businesses and what is Canada, the CRTC doing as well? Nothing good!

WHAT SPIN DOCTOR BELL ALSO DOES NOT TELL ALL OF IT’S CUSTOMERS .Canadian cell phone carrier, DAVE Wireless, announced  that it had signed a licensing agreement with Bell Mobility, allowing it to attach wireless transmitters to Bell’s existing cell sites. What most citizens do not realize is that wireless phones are digital based too, operating on Bell’s internet services too  AND IT FURTHER EXPLAINS WHY BELL HAS TO CAP IT INTERNET CUSTOMERS’ USAGES, DOWNLOADS OFTEN TOO, TO MAKE THE ROOM FOR THE WIRELESS PHONES AS WELL . BELL REALLY DOES NOT HAVE EXISTING ADEQUATE CAPACITY FOR BOTH, NOT EVEN FOR THE HIGH SPEED INTERNET SERVICES IN ALL AREAS OF CANADA. IT IS CLEARLY TOO CHEAP TO SPEND CAPITAL TO DO THIS?

It has always confounded me as to why the liars, crooks, deceivers, abusers in governments, churches,   institutions, corporations   too often do still do think they can get away with now, next and forever.

FOR WE TEND TO KNOW THAT THEY THE CROOKS, ABUSERS TOO,  NOW ARE NOT ABOUT TO STOP THEIR WRONG DOINGS. RATHER THEY WILL NEXT EVEN ESCALATE, CONTINUE IN THEM. AND THAT IS ANOTHER VALID REASON  THEY DO NEED TO BE EXPOSED, PROSECUTED AND STOPPED. EVEN FOR THE GOOD OF US ALL.

While the pretentious Canadian Liberal and Conservatives governments, are presently engulfed in the  Quebec mafia scandals too, while they  clearly do not care about the average citizens, about their consumer protection, yes the ordinary citizens  concerns too, but they all  wrongfully it seems to care only about big businesses making  more money at any costs, the reality of this is all  evident by the fact this  page has become the ALL TIME most read post of mine..
https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/07/07/crtc-farcical-hearings-on-internet-speed-control/
The federal, provincial governments, the CRTC, Conservatives, Liberals  unfairly maintaining  archaic, monopolistic telecommunication firms, that are often   bloated, cost ineffective, incompetent, over staffed, un-competitively managed as well is the main reasons consumer costs falsely keep on going up now.

FIRST DO TELL MY GOVERNMENT, THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA THAT ALL THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA, THE RCMP TOO NOW,  COPYRIGHTS DO ALSO BELONG TO ME, A CITIZEN OF CANADA, ONE OF THE MAY OWNERS OF CANADA NOW TOO, AND THAT AS A RESULT I CAN PASTE, POST ANY OF MY COPYRIGHT MATERIAL  FREELY ON MY WEBS SITE FOR ALL TO SEE.

TORONTO – The office of Canada’s auditor general says it’s perfectly OK – and much appreciated – if websites link to reports on its government site, but warns they should not be hosted elsewhere. Advocates for copyright reform expressed concern Thursday when the auditor general’s office demanded the Globe and Mail newspaper remove a copy of a report that had been attached to one of its online articles. The Globe was displaying the report with a web application called Scribd, which allows large documents to be embedded on a web page without the need for an external program like Adobe Reader. It also keeps readers on the same web page, rather than sending them off to another site to read the document. Beth Stewart, a lawyer for the office of auditor general Sheila Fraser, said the document was ordered off Scribd’s servers because of concerns with the website’s terms of use. It was her understanding that users of Scribd documents are permitted to alter the files and use them in other ways, Stewart said.

Speeding is not the major cause of car accidents still

gm

“Studies talk about how distracted driving is the number-one cause of accidents,”
.
We all can easily see how perverse the Justice systems are in Canada, Canada wide,  and the related judges, Politicians  now as well.  For example  the Winnipeg Police Service boasts a record-breaking $14 million in photo-radar fines for 2014,  merely the latest mark of an other  city gone mad with revenue generating traffic tickets,  and it  represents a dramatic increase of 25% over 2013, and is the equivalent of a $22 ticket issued to every man, woman and child in Winnipeg..
.

Too many Canadian medical experts say the goverments do not address a major public-health problem: the overprescribing of opioids that has led to an epidemic of drug abuse and overdose deaths. Canada ranks as the world’s second-highest per capita consumer of opioids. In Ontario alone, more than 500 people die each year from opioids, exceeding motor vehicle deaths, according to the provincial coroner’s office.

While Automobile traffic accidents are the number one cause of death for Americans, Canadians  ages 3 to 33 and while Automobile traffic accidents are the most common source of personal injury the reality is that  NOT ONLY IS SPEEDING NOT THE MAIN CAUSE OF ACCIDENTS, RATHER ROAD RAGE AND  IMPAIRED DRIVING ARE. but the  statistics also still indicate that hospital deaths now due to hospital acquired sickness, medical errors, medical negligence exceedingly surpass all of these deaths, numbers. And yet here not enough is being done about this and why is that?
 .
Too many people Canada wide do now often complain about still being harassed, bullied by Traffic cops and getting unnecessary traffic tickets, especialy it seems in Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba too. the Cops are no angels themselves for sure.  https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2008/06/12/speed-related-highway-fatalities/

Drink Alcohol and Die « The non conformer’s Canadian Weblog   Drink Alcohol and Die or Kill is fast becoming Canada’s preoccupation, main goal, slogan.. Alcohol and alcoholics the unacceptable main cause of vehicular  accidents, domestic violence, and so many other ills… DRUNK DRIVING  KILLS AT LEAST 5 TIMES MORE PERSONS OVER SPEEDING FIRSTLY  https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/01/02/alcohol/
About the bad drivers.. Now Speed-related highway fatalities are down some 42 per cent in Ontario supposedly  this year, and much of that has to do with the new laws enacted last spring, Ontario Provincial Police commissioner Julian Fantino said.  But since speeding causes apparently less than 15 percent of the overall accidents, and bad cars, bad vehicles, road rage, drunk drivers, impaired drivers, talking on the phone causes the majority of the accidents still so how much did the police help now to  reduce these more important statistics? Nothing again? and why not? and why is it too often unacceptably the bad cops are never found guilty as well?

Alberta drug and alcohol deaths have doubled in the past decade  Edmonton Sun  CALGARY — The number of recorded drug and alcohol deaths in Alberta has more than doubled in the past decade, says the province’s chief medical examiner. From 1998 to 2008, Alberta’s population has grown by only 13% while the annual number of non-suicide deaths attributable to intoxicants has leaped to 437 from 210. Kim Borden, research officer with the chief medical examiner’s office, was at a loss to explain why the number would so far exceed the province’s population increase. “But I do know drugs and drug-related deaths are a huge problem — it’s right up there with car crash fatalities,” she said. “It’s growing every year.” , the figures for deaths caused by drugs are likely much higher because the number of autopsies are so limited.
So vehicular  speeding is not the major cause of accidents, deaths but impaired driving and yet the police like to go after speeders, over the drunk drivers still and why was that?
The Cops becoming judge and jury, now taking the law into their own hands  even when they still say “ In most cases, our cops are the best to judge if stunt driving is really stunt driving. Or, is it simply speeding. If that is the case, they should charge accordingly or face more legal challenges.” And them the cops still being continually soft on drunk drivers is cause too many cops do  drink alcohol now too?  https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/09/10/speeding-is-not-the-major-cause-of-car-accidents-still/
VICTORIA — Alcohol consumption has increased almost twice as much in British Columbia as it has in the rest of the country, according to a new study. Researchers at the University of Victoria Centre for Addictions Research say British Columbians’ alcohol consumption has risen 16 per cent since 1998. That’s almost twice the nine per cent increase seen in the rest of Canada. http://www.vancouversun.com/health/Drinking+rises+faster+than+rest+Canada/2322114/story.html
 .
and if that is true now there should be twice as much arrests for drunk driving and twice as much prison incarceration for drunk driving too? is there or why not?

Saskatchewan has introduced the toughest repeat drunk-driving sentencing policy in Canada, just in time for the holiday party season. As of Friday in Saskatchewan, there will be a minimum mandatory 30-day jail sentence for repeat offenders who have had one prior conviction in the past five years or two convictions in the past ten years.  Further, if a convicted drunk driver has two convictions in the past five years or three in the past ten years, the mandatory jail sentence will be 120 days.  These sentences will be more severe if the drunk driving offences have caused bodily harm or if the offender is found to be driving while disqualified. http://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2009/12/09/12098391.html

Yet  ex Ontario OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino called it “the Lord’s work arresting anyone except the cops for speeding, thus ” “Saving lives“. The devil disguised as an angel of light again. He said his officers will “make no apologies” for continuing to enforce a law that gives police the power to impound vehicles, suspend licences, and slap high fines against drivers before the driver has a chance to appear in court. After all it is a profitable revenue generating law too.
.
False image of racing.. On Sept. 4, 2009 Ontario Justice G. J. Griffin overturned an earlier guilty verdict on a grandmother caught doing more than 50 km/h over the posted limit of 80 km/h on a stretch of Highway 7 near Kaladar. At the time, Jane Raham, 62, was overtaking a truck. Among many other opinions, Justice Griffin said Raham certainly didn’t conjure up the image of a stunt driver. Griffin’s ruling means convicting someone on excessive speeding alone under the street racing law is now considered unconstitutional.  That makes some common sense. And it doesn’t mean reckless street racers who swerve in and out of lanes endangering others won’t face the strict penalties under the street racing law. Those penalties include having your car impounded as soon as you’re charged and a $2,000 to $10,000 fine. Some may say driving more than 50 kilometres over the posted speed limit is dangerous so it should fall under the stunt driving law. But there are already sufficient fines and penalties, not to mention insurance ramifications, to deter driving at such a high speed. Impounding someone’s car at the scene in a simple case of speeding does seem somewhat onerous. Jailing them – although up to the discretion of a judge – would still be outrageous.

It’s all very simple: obey the laws.  You broke the law, accept the consequences, and if that hypocritical, absurd, extreme statement was the reality, the truth, everyone would next be in jail, all of the politicians, civil and public servants, cops firstly..

In regard also to the  Quebec bill to amend the Highway Safety Code and the Regulation respecting demerit points which was adopted on December 19, 2007.  The rules and measures adopted mainly concern drinking and driving, speeding, photo radars and red-light cameras, driving courses, the use of cell phones while driving, and over-speed governors for certain heavy vehicles. This legislation introduces more severe penalties for repeat offenders of impaired driving and excessive speeding. It allows for the implementation of a photo radar and red-light camera pilot project providing for three photo radar locations and the installation of red-light cameras at two intersections in each of the three pilot regions. These fifteen locations will be announced at a later date. The law also provides for the institution of mandatory driving courses for new drivers and imposes probationary driver’s licenses on all new drivers, including new drivers of 25+ years of age, as well as gradual access to demerit points for new drivers under 25. A driving course will also be mandatory for mopeds. it will henceforth be forbidden for drivers to use a hand-held cell phone while driving but the person can still do text messaging, and what an contradictory absurdity too.. The activation of over-speed governors is now mandatory for certain heavy vehicles, and the maximum speed for these vehicles must be set at 105 km/h.  The law also provides for the obligation to equip vehicles with winter tires from November 15 to April 1, greater latitude for municipalities that regulate speed limits on their territory and the possibility to carry out pilot projects, in particular for new types of vehicles. New road safety measures come into force in Québec on April 1, 2008: The use of hand-held cell phones will be banned from then on .Tougher penalties will be imposed on drivers guilty of excessive speeding  Some of the motives for the false, partial restive applications, implantation of these laws can certainly now still be questioned as well. Some of the motives for the false, partial restive applications, implantation of these laws can certainly now still be questioned as well.
.
The oppressive police enforcement of revenue generating speeding tickets enforcement is still  basically economically beneficial   to a very small, isolated segment of society, the related cops, judges, lawyers, and it is false  job security approach for them even in Alberta. While the government of Alberta fails to often still to  deal with the still much too many bad managers, bad civil and public servants abusing tax payers money, even stealing,  not doing their jobs properly, unnecessarily taking out of town trips and charging it to the job still, Alberta today  is putting 15 new sheriffs on the road in Alberta. Alberta for decades, and the police  has been falsely preoccupied with putting every person in jail in Calgary, and Edmonton, all of  Alberta for speeding,  it seems and was another main reasons they spent so much money on building new court facilities in Alberta too… this is even all being done while statistics, experiences confirms that speeding does not kill, or cause the majority of accidents, but only drunk or drug impaired drivers, bad drivers, and road rage cause the majority of the accidents the government still wants to purse now mostly  the speeders more aggressively in Alberta.
.
Police often do calls for tougher rules on others but not upon themselves. Such real hypocrites now still too. .   Do what I say over do what I do is part of the hypocrisy now existing too often too at all levels, federal, provincial, municipal, in cops as well and not just in many preacher’s lives now as well..
 .
Wrongful inactions, Cover ups, False denial of bad politicians, bad cops, bad persons, false pastors, false priests are much too common in Canada too.
.
As a citizen I too find it very dangerous when drivers do not stop at the stop signs, run through read lights, speed in residential areas, use a phone in a car and do their drive cars rather now now as well.. so we should ban now all car drivers firstly, practically now.  This is no more absurd than the New Project that hopes to slash the  actual  Edmonton residential car speed limits .  The speed limit will plunge as low as 30 km/h in some Edmonton neighborhoods next year as the city continues to wage its war on all lead-footed drivers.  A committee of council members  gave administration the green light to get to work on the pilot project. It will see the top speed hopefully lowered to between 30 km/h and 40 km/h on residential streets in three to five neighborhoods for a period of six months  for some people  the current 50 km/h top speed is too high for their neighborhood streets, It’s a mostly a quality of life issue for the people. The People want to feel safe.  A quality of life issue mostly  and not really a safety issue. It is cheaper to buy then some medical pills to help them to feel better though.   The reduced speed would not apply to major arterial roadways for now ?.
.
And them the cops still being continually soft on drunk drivers is cause too many cops do  drink alcohol now too?
 .
Note AGAIN this important  brief introduction to road safety .. Yes  you always do have to drive safely, in control, not impaired as well and yes there are many, many different factors that now can cause a vehicular, automotive  accident, including but not limited to the actual daily road conditions, even the type of tires you have .. for  it is a fact that good tires lead to a safer drive, and so does a 4 wheel drive.  Next when you start to first drive at any day do first immediately test the road condition by coming to a planned sudden stop at a slow speed too, and see firsthand how your car reacts accordingly.. then next do use this experience to set how you will drive the rest of the day too. And no matter what car, or tires you have, or who is the driver, if you do hit a patch of black ice, due clearly to the failure of others to apply salt and gravel on the icy / snowy road,  it can be very, very hazardous now too. Give them a fine, ticket, they firstly do deserve it too.  And  hypothetical if you do not drive at all you are less likely   to have an   accident, assuming another driver does not hit you while walking.. SEE ALSO https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/04/24/research-on-real-world-behavior-crash-factors
  .
The insurance industry itself too  often sleeps with legislators, cops because it wants to make loads of money by finding out reasons not to pay out as well.. they support traffic tickets even though they do not reduce the car accidents significantly cause it gives more money to the insurance firms,  this is immoral gouging of consumers too often rather too.. now what about having some honest watchdogs and legislators rather. Go after the drunk drivers, raise the price of the booze firstly..
 .
Even so, snow tires are still a wise choice for motorists in southern Ontario too. However, a snow tire is no surety against the repercussions of reckless or dangerous driving. And that’s the key thing.   More often than not, vehicular collisions on winter roads aren’t caused by the lack of snow tires on a vehicle. It’s (ALSO NOT ) caused by motorists who are driving too fast or not accordingly to the conditions.  This is also what Ontario Provincial Police Commissioner Julian Fantino (FALSELY) touched upon this week when he urged the government to increase fines and demerit points for drivers speeding in bad weather conditions – whether it’s snow, heavy rain or thick fog.  Fantino’s pitch came on the heels of a weekend that saw provincial police officers respond to more than 3,000 collisions as large swaths of the province were walloped by two snowstorms. At least 40% of crashes are caused by speeding in poor conditions and not paying attention, Fantino said. (His  unofficial, unreliable statistics, remark NOW  refers to a small period of accidents and not RATHER  the  true statistics for the whole year firstly  since most accidents are caused by rage, impaired driving, poor drivers, vehciles and driver errors). The Highway Traffic Act already has provisions and penalties for speeding and careless driving. Do we really need another section in the Act that specifically addresses bad driving in poor weather?  No, we don’t.  What we do need is the strict enforcement of existing traffic laws – not just about speeding but also signaling turns and taking the proper precautions before changing lanes.”  http://www.tirereview.com/default.aspxtype=wm&module=4&id=2&state=DisplayFullText&item=13392
 .
“CP TORONTO – The head of the Ontario Provincial Police says drivers who crash in bad weather because of their own negligence should have to pay the bill.  Commissioner Julian Fantino will propose absolute liability legislation today under the Highway Traffic Act to hold irresponsible drivers accountable. This essentially means making drivers pay for accidents in which they were driving aggressively in poor weather, not insurance companies  Fantino says at least 40 per cent of crashes are caused because people are going too fast in poor conditions and not paying attention.  He says his proposal targets people “who could care less” about how they are driving when the roads are bad.   Fantino says his proposal mirrors laws currently on the books in almost every state in the U.S.” The fact that many of these road accidents had occurred in reality, honesty due to the cutbacks of the snow cleaning, removal  services is ommitted wrongfully.. https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2008/12/22/cops-lie-too/
.
The current top speed is unacceptable to some local people, especially when the  police generally don’t start issuing tickets until a motorist is driving at least 10 km/h above the posted limit.  “We need to do something to catch people’s attention,”  But  still the upfront cost of lowering the limit on all neighborhood streets would be in the millions of dollars, yes “a staggering amount.” That would include the cost of new signs, photo enforcement equipment, municipal, court overheads.  Most if not all of the costs may be offset by increased ticket revenue. Don’t forget the freebie, the increase of profits for the insurance firms with every police traffic ticket now issued as well. These  desired residential speed reductions are not effective unless they are enforced. Edmonton Police Chief Mike Boyd recently vowed to devote all possible resources to crack down on excessive speeding in the city after officers issued an average of almost one ticket per minute in their latest 24-hour speeding blitz. Generating thousands of dollars. It is still better and cheaper to buy the complaining residents some medical pills to help them to “feel better” though.

Most accidents are caused by drunk driving and the doctor does not mention this still?? what was that? he was paid by the liquor industry not to? or was PAID BY MONEY MAKING REVENUE COPS TO SAY SPEED ALONE MAINLY KILLS.. HOW ABSURD.. THIS Canadian doctor.. and not a Canadian Traffic engineer uses now US statistics ONLY to say speed alone kills? and he what HE THUS HAD considered also the number of drunk, impaired, road rage  drivers, that seem to increase very year as a fact for most of the deaths NO MATTER WHAT THE SPEED?  or what this did not bother him.. only the number of people who speed?  SPEED IS A MAIN FACTOR IN 5 TO 15 PERCENT OF THE ACCIDENTS.. AND WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THE ACCIDENTS? THE 85 PERCENT.. it SEEMS THE DOCTORS IN UNITED KINGDOM CONTRADICT THIS CANADIAN DOCTOR IN THEIR TRAFFIC ACCIDENT STUDIES TOO.. SO WHAT ELSE IS NEW?  Preposterous COOKED results.. NOW get real..
 .
Majority of accidents are caused by the drunk drivers firstly still. Police do not regularly, actively, year around purse them and why?  More people die from alcohol, drugs, hospital neglect, and yet more money is being paid on catching mainly the  speeders.. Police do not mind harassing still the ordinary folks with revenue generating  traffic, parking, speeding tickets though  https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2010/06/25/we-need-more-red-light-cameras-elsewhere-too/

The federal justice minister is considering a new law that would allow police to conduct random breathalyzer tests on drivers, regardless of whether they suspect motorists have been drinking. http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/story/2009/10/05/random-breathalyzer-drunk-driving-test-law.html
I total agree with this law on condition the same test be administered also to all working civil and public servants, senators, politicians in the house of commons as well..
If you can’t drive effectively while impaired, drunk neither can you do your job effectively  as well.
Look at this, due to the undeniable Recession, budget and tax cuts,  Municipalities across Canada have  been cutting back even on their services, snow clearing now too, which has been leading up to more car accidents, and cause the police cannot tell the truth about their employers, the police now lie, and divert the truth, saying that speeding vehicles were the cause of most of the accidents. In reality now also  speeding also still is not the main reasons for accidents but driving while impaired is.. http://postedat.wordpress.com/2009/01/08/drivers-will-face-significant-insurance-rates/

The average, Illiterate computer users are taking a great risk

I am also still amazed as to how much maintenance time you have to give to one’s computer system, spyware, viruses, security system now as well. It seems we now  also  have to spend much more time on computer maintenance too then over when computers had first come out in the 1980’s too.. http://postedat.wordpress.com/2009/01/12/viruses-trojan-agents/ Microsoft Antivirus is a new rogue anti-spyware program – a fake spyware remover, which uses trojans, such as Zlob or Vundo, to enter the system. This parasite appears to have been made by Microsoft, which is completely untrue. Microsoft Antivirus uses disinformation to trick the user into purchasing it’s “licensed version”. Once inside and active, Microsoft Antivirus will flood the user with popups and fake system notifications, supposedly to inform him of an infection or multiple infections present on the system. While this may coincidentally be true, Microsoft Antivirus has neither the ability to detect nor remove any of the threats. To remove these fake threats, the user will be asked to purchase the parasite’s full version. Microsoft Antivirus is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and block it’s homepage using your HOSTS file.  Microsoft Antivirus is Extremely dangerous http://www.2-viruses.com/remove-microsoft-antivirus

laptop
Spybot has to be one of the all time favourites which many users still haven’t got around to installing. Spybot Search & Destroy is a free program which detects and removes spyware which is not covered by antivirus programs.  This includes many of the new rogue antivirus programs which install silently in the background  I too have  used Spybot for years. I usually combine its services with CCleaner, Glary Utilities   and Hijack  for a squeaky clean computer.

RogueKiller is an anti-malware able to detect and remove generic malware and advanced threats like rootkits, rogues, worms. It also detects controversial programs (PUPs) as well as possible bad system modifications/corruptions (PUMs). For Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10. 32/64 bits  A suitable free version is available as well  Detect unknown threats, and eliminate them.

A  separate back up computer also   seems to be an essential  reality these days too.Not only have the software programs also  become too often more complicated, often not user friendly as well, they now take a massive hard disk space and seem to also require a computer system upgrade too, so one now basically needs plenty of time, even  a degree in computer science if you really want to use your computer for much more then just browsing the internet.  Thanks to this imperfect world, viruses, bad people, the continually need of a reliable computer  data back up software even due to  the short comings of Windows Back up and  restore is another serious problem now as well.  It is thus now a very well-known fact that most computers are  very susceptible to failures still,  hard drive crashes or virus attacks.  The average, Illiterate computer users are taking a great risk  these days in using a computer on the net...  see first http://wittnessed.wordpress.com/2009/01/19/windows-computers-backup/

The  security engineers were cleaning up on   following a series of worm attacks  including at least two credited to a bored 17-year-old.  And the company would take legal action against the worms’ creators.  The worms exploits a common vulnerability in Web applications called cross-site scripting which allows someone to inject code into Web pages others are viewing. In this instance,  the  users who clicked on the name or image of anyone sending the worm messages would get infected and then send the message on to all that person’s followers. Anyone viewing an infected user’s profile would also get infected and pass the worm on. To avoid such Javascript-based attacks, you can turn off Javascript in your browser. Instructions for doing this are here.  As is frequently the case with XSS-based attacks, the worm was unable to prey on those using the NoScript add-on for the Firefox browser. “Media darling Twitter was hit with a series of worms this weekend, a scam that was the brainchild of a bored 17-year-old Brooklyn resident. The micro-blogging site fell prey to four worm attacks between 2 AM Saturday Pacific time and early Monday morning, according to Twitter. “We believe things are now under control; we’ll be continuing to monitor the Mikeyy situation,” the company said Monday via its @spam feed. Mikeyy is the Internet handle used by the worm’s creator.  PCMag.com received an e-mail from an individual identifying himself as Mikeyy – or Michael Mooney – a 17-year-old high school student from Brooklyn and creator of StalkDaily.com.”Yeah, I am the coder of the worm this weekend,” Mooney wrote. “The worm spread through multiple XSS exploits, which then reposted data with AJAX after getting their auth token. I did this … through infuriation with Twitter’s lack of security and popularity.  Mooney acknowledged that he hoped the stunt would result in a job, “but I doubt I’ll get any job offers,” he said.He has not been in contact with anyone from Twitter or law enforcement. Mooney is a “little bit” concerned about prosecution, but said he hopes he can “get out” of it since he did not cause any actual damage. Should we expect any more Twitter attacks from Mikeyy?”    ” In 2005, Samy Kamkar exploited a bug in MySpace to add as a “friend” anyone who viewed his account profile. He then copied a snippet of JavaScript to that user’s profile to continue the hack. Within 24 hours, he had accumulated over a million friends. MySpace sued, and in January 2007 Kamkar pleaded guilty to a single felony count. He was sentenced to three years probation and 90 days of community service. “
.
But if you or a well-meaning helper has turned off JavaScript and you want to turn it back on (or if you’ve decided, for whatever reason, you really want to turn it off), you’ll find instructions below for doing so in the four most popular web browsers. http://www.tucows.com/article/1690 You can also use utilities such as NoScript open source Firefox extension, “The latest and greatest sites on the web–including this one–require JavaScript to be enabled in your web browser to give you the best experience. If you’ve got JavaScript turned off, read on for instructions on how to turn it back on (or, if you really want, the other way around) in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, or Safari. Once little more than a novelty, JavaScript has become one of the main technologies driving innovation on the web. JavaScript (not to be confused with Java, a mostly unrelated technology) lets web designers make their sites more interactive, more visually appealing, and more useful. JavaScript isn’t all good–it enables pop-up ads, for example–but modern web browsers eliminate those nastier aspects, and browsing with  JavaScript turned off, in  excludes one from experiencing the best of what the web has to offer–including much of the functionality of this site–without offering much benefit.”
.
“There’s no hope for you and no point in looking for security enhancements, while you keep using an unsafe wannabe web browser… Get a real browser first!  There’s a browser safer than Firefox… …it is Firefox, with NoScript! The NoScript Firefox extension provides extra protection for Firefox, Flock, Seamonkey and other mozilla-based browsers: this free, open source add-on allows JavaScript, Java and Flash and other plugins to be executed only by trusted web sites of your choice (e.g. your online bank), and provides the most powerful Anti-XSS protection available in a browser.  NoScript’s unique whitelist based pre-emptive script blocking approach prevents exploitation of security vulnerabilities (known and even not known yet!) with no loss of functionality…  You can enable JavaScript, Java and plugin execution for sites you trust with a simple left-click on the NoScript status bar icon (look at the picture), or using the contextual menu, for easier operation in popup statusbar-less windows. Staying safe has never been so easy! Firefox is really safer with NoScript!http://noscript.net/ PC World‘s Ten Steps Security features using NoScript as step #6. (cite bite)

If you have about an hour each month at least, you can batten down your machine’s hatches against Net threats new and old. Here’s how. Each new wave of computer viruses, spies, and spam may have you ready to dust off your typewriter, but PC security can be effective without being a chore. To keep your computing safe from current and future threats, we’ve distilled our security advice down to the basics. These ten quick and easy tips will help protect your hardware, software, and data.

1. Patch automatically: Ensure Windows is set to update itself. In XP, click Start, Control Panel, Security Settings (if you’re in Category view), Automatic Updates. In 2000, choose Start, Settings, Control Panel, Automatic Updates. In both versions, verify that ‘Automatic (recommended)’ is selected. You can also have Windows notify you before it downloads an update, or you can install the update manually. (The steps and options are only slightly different in Windows 98 and Me.)

2. Don’t wait for Windows: If your PC has been off for more than a few days, don’t wait for Windows’ automatic update to kick in. Make the Windows Update site your first Internet stop. Also, there may be a lag between when a patch is available and when Windows Update pushes it to you. Microsoft releases Windows patches on the second Tuesday of each month, so to be safe check for updates manually every couple of weeks. And don’t forget to set your antivirus and anti-spyware tools to update automatically (or check weekly for updates yourself).

3. Use XP’s security monitor: Windows XP Service Pack 2’s most welcome addition is the Windows Security Center, which alerts you when your PC’s firewall and antivirus protection are disabled or out of date. Still, XP’s own firewall protects you only from inbound pests; it doesn’t alert you to suspicious outbound traffic (see “Tweak Windows XP SP2 Security to Your Advantage” for more). We recommend that you disable the XP firewall and instead use Zone Labs’ (ZoneAlarm) or another third-party firewall program that protects both ways.

4. Make your file extensions visible: Some viruses masquerade as harmless file types by adding a bogus extension near the end of their name, as in “funnycartoon.jpg.exe,” in hopes your system is set to hide such extensions (the default in Windows XP and 2000)–you see ‘.jpg’ but not ‘.exe’. To make these troublemakers easier to spot, open Windows Explorer or any folder window and click Tools, Folder Options, View. Ensure that the option ‘Hide file extensions for known file types’ is unchecked.

Bonus Tip 1: To get the most complete picture of your Windows setup, check Show hidden files and folders and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).

Bonus Tip 2: Click here to play Microsoft’s video guide to Windows XP security settings.

5. Keep Internet Explorer safe: Many people find IE 6’s Medium security level too obliging to ActiveX controls and other small programs, or scripts, that the browser runs on your PC. ActiveX and JavaScript enable such useful Web features as order forms and security scans, but they also may run malicious code and give attackers access to your system. To make IE safer, click Tools, Internet Options, Security, Custom Level, select High from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the Security Settings dialog box, and click Reset, Yes, OK.

Unfortunately, setting IE to the High security setting can lead to the browser’s unleashing a fusillade of warnings and permission pop-ups every time you visit a site. The solution is to add the sites that you access often to IE’s Trusted Sites list: Choose Tools, Internet Options, Security, click the Trusted Sites icon, and then click the Sites button. Enter the Web address, click Add, and repeat as necessary (see the Trusted Sites screen below). Be sure to uncheck Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone. When you’re finished, click OK twice.

6. Make Firefox more secure: The only way to block JavaScripts on a site-by-site basis in the Mozilla Foundation’s free Firefox browser is to download and install the NoScript add-in that was created by Giorgio Maone. NoScript places a warning bar at the bottom of all the Web pages you visit that use JavaScript. Click the bar to see options for allowing scripts on the site (permanently or temporarily), blocking scripts, and other operations (see the NoScript screen below). The program can also stifle Flash animations and other Firefox plug-ins, but keep in mind that going Flash-less means you’ll be missing out on some of the Web’s richest content (along with all of those great dancing ads). Although NoScript is freeware, the author does accept donations at www.noscript.net.

7. Handle e-mail links with care: If a virus infects your PC, chances are good it arrived piggybacked on e-mail. To reduce your risk of an e-mail-borne infection, don’t click links in suspicious messages (the text in the message may mask the actual Web address). Instead, enter the URL in your browser’s address bar manually, or go to the site’s home page and then navigate to the page in question.

8. Scan attachments for viruses: Run each of the e-mail attachments you receive through your antivirus software before you open them. Rather than double-clicking the attachment to open it instantly, save the file to a drive on your PC, open Windows Explorer, right-click the file, and choose the option to scan it for viruses. (Better yet, set your antivirus software to scan incoming and outgoing e-mail automatically.)

9. Close the preview pane: Some maleficent messages need only be opened in your e-mail program’s preview window to do their dirty work. That’s why we recommend that you close the preview pane in all of your inboxes. In Microsoft Outlook 2003, click View, Reading pane, Off. In Outlook Express 6, click View, Layout and verify that ‘Show Preview Pane’ is unchecked. In Mozilla Thunderbird, click View, Layout and confirm that ‘Message pane’ is unchecked (or press <F8> to toggle the preview pane on and off).

10. Read your mail in plain text: Since many e-mail pests rely on HTML code to achieve their nefarious goals, you can stop them in their tracks by viewing your messages as plain text. In Outlook 2003, click Tools, Options, Preferences, E-mail Options and check Read all standard mail in plain text. In Outlook Express 6, choose Tools, Options, Read and click Read all messages in plain text. In Mozilla Thunderbird, select View, Message Body As, Plain Text.

Wireless Safety

Encrypt your Wi-Fi network: When you install a wireless network, it’s tempting to keep the vendor’s default network name and leave the network unencrypted. But doing so is an open invitation to your neighbors and anyone else within range to help themselves to your Internet connection. Open your network’s configuration program to rename your network and apply Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) encryption. And check the maker’s Web site regularly for driver and security updates.” http://www.pcworld.com/article/122500/10step_security.html

.
Now the top 20 threats encountered by computer users in the recent time, four out of five of them were NOT Conficker.  It is still true that the makers of the Conficker, the worm virus  that has infected millions of PCs, it also downloads several new malicious files to the infected system  has begun now to do what all botnet owners hope to do — make loads of money — security researchers said today . And the PCs that are infected with the Trojan horse — are now also rented out to spammers. Conficker.e is downloading and installing fake security software. Often called “scareware” for its habit of trying to spook users with bogus infection warnings — then dumping them with endless pop-ups until they fork over up to $50 to buy the useless program — sadly such rogue antivirus software has become a huge business.. It makes no sense to protect yourself or your business from Conficker and forget the other threats.

As many users are aware there is an epidemic of fraudulent anti-malware products which are targeting all internet users.  . They are delivered through various website links, pop-ups, drive-by downloads, email links etc, and in many cases, once the fake program has started to scan your machine you are infected, then it is a battle to get rid of this scourge. The trend of rogue software sites is increasing all of the time, changing names every few days once users realise that they have been snared which reduces the chances of claiming refunds for those who have actually purchased these fake programs in the belief that they will help them.  Fake anti-malware software, marketed under hundreds of different names, scares users by giving false spyware alarms and then tries to deceive them into paying for removal of non-existing malware. The goal of these criminal software makers is to make people pay for the “full” version of their bogus anti-malware product and to collect financial information that can be used for phishing. The fake security product often installs malicious software to download itself or executes other unwanted actions. The user is shown fake messages such as, “Warning! Your computer is infected with spyware”, followed by a promise that the chargeable version of the tool will remove this non-existing threat. These tools are promoted using hundreds of different names, such as XP Antivirus 2008 and XP Antivirus 2009.  http://freepcsecurity.co.uk/2008/09/19/epidemic-of-fake-anti-malware-products-threaten-internet-users/

How to tell if your PC has been infected by a Rogue Anti-Spyware such as Microsoft Antivirus?

Numerous undesirable and annoying pop-ups: A typical Rogue Anti-Spyware parasite keeps track of your internet browsing habits, sending your browsing history data to remote servers, owned by third party companies that use this information to advertise their products via numerous pop-ups, toolbars, hijacked homepages and spam letters. All these undesirable advertising methods are used on the victims of Rogue Anti-Spyware.
Changed or new icons: Sometimes, Rogue Anti-Spyware installs unwanted software to a victim’s PC without user’s knowledge and consent. This may lead to slower PC performance and stability, as well as more unwanted programs you can’t remove.

If you think you might have rogue security software on your computer:

Scan your computer. Use your antivirus software or do a free scan with Windows Live OneCare safety scanner. The safety scanner checks for and removes viruses, eliminates junk on your hard drive, and improves your PC’s performance.

Additional precautions you can take to protect your computer system: http://billmullins.wordpress.com/2008/08/31/get-rid-of-ie-antivirus-four-removal-solutions/

When surfing the web – Stop. Think. Click

Don’t open unknown email attachments

Don’t run programs of unknown origin

Disable hidden filename extensions

Keep all applications (including your operating system) patched

Turn off your computer or disconnect from the network when not in use

Disable Java, JavaScript, and ActiveX if possible

Disable scripting features in email programs

Make regular backups of critical data

Make a boot disk in case your computer is damaged or compromised

Turn off file and printer sharing on the computer.

Install a personal firewall on the computer.

Install anti-virus/anti-spyware software and ensure it is configured to automatically update when you are connected to the Internet

Ensure the anti-virus software scans all e-mail attachments

How does rogue security software get on my computer?

Rogue security software designers create legitimate looking pop-up windows that advertise security update software. These windows might appear on your screen while you surf the Web.

The “updates” or “alerts” in the pop-up windows call for you to take some sort of action, such as clicking to install the software, accept recommended updates, or remove unwanted viruses or spyware. When you click, the rogue security software downloads to your computer.

Rogue security software might also appear in the list of search results when you are searching for trustworthy antispyware software, so it is important to protect your computer.

Alcoholic consumption entertainment at taxpayer’s expenses

Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Finance Minister Jim Flaherty joined   brewery manager Colin O’Brien, and supply director Paul Armstrong at the Guinness brew house. http://www.canada.com/Stephen+Harper+Irish+adventures/8532787/story.html

harper_guiness

Our Canadian Christian evangelical Prime Minister Stephen Harper makes an essential stop at the Irish Guinness brewery, he sure has fooled all those fundamental western Christians who voted from him cause they had been lied to that he was an Christian evangelical abstainer    http://www.irishtimes.com/news/canada-pm-arrives-in-dublin-ahead-of-g8-summit-1.1430527
http://kambulow.blogspot.ca/2013/06/the-possession.html

.

For all the fundamental evangelical Christians who say that PM Stephen Harper DOES NOT DRINK ALCOHOL.. HERE IS THE REALITY “VANCOUVER, B.C. – It seems U.S. President Barack Obama owes Prime Minister Stephen Harper a few cold ones. The two leaders had a friendly bet on the outcome of Sunday’s gold-medal Olympic hockey game.   Team Canada came out on top, so Obama will have to pick up a 24-pack of Molson Canadian for the prime minister. Harper would have had to buy Obama a case of Yuengling beer if the U.S. had taken the top honour at the tournament. Team USA beat Team Canada in the first match-up between the two countries in the preliminary rounds, but Canada came out on top in a heart-stopping overtime round on Sunday. Harper was at the game in Vancouver but Obama did not make an appearance at the Olympics. The prime minister met with the gold medal winners in the locker room after the game to congratulate them. ”
http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/canada/breakingnews/obama-owes-harper-a-few-brews-after-canada-takes-us-in-olympic-hockey-85784877.html
.
I ALSO REMEMBER WHEN THE LYING US PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OBAMA SUPPORTER HAD SAID THAT CHRISTIAN OBAMA DOES NOT DRINK ALCOHOL..

.

And how much major hurt and damage does alcohol drinking still cause in Canada? and how much money does it costs the taxpayers now too? Much too much too. https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/01/02/alcohol/

The Police in Canada also should Maintain efforts on drunk driving,   paying close attention to detect and charge drunk drivers,  all year and not just during the holidays

 .
Quebec bill to lower blood-alcohol level. The new law would permit zero alcohol for drivers younger than 21 and introduces a new sanction for anyone caught between 0.05 and the current legal limit  Under the proposed legislation introduced last December, police could suspend the licence of drivers with a blood-alcohol level between 0.05 and 0.08 for a 24-hour period.
.

It seems that 70 percent of the adults drink alcohol in Canada too but 100  percent of them claim to be non alcoholics? civil and public servants included, and where do all of the many drunk  drivers, alcoholics  come from now too? For the civil and public servants all you have to do is look at their expenses accounts, see how much they charged us for booze and that will quickly show us all whether they really are alcoholics or not for a start.  Few alcoholics will admit they are alcoholics just as few persons will admit they practice tax evasion as well. Drunk drivers still cause most of the car accidents but the police prefer to go after speeding tickets, it is easier to to get the speeders.. and very profitable, sadly it also ties up our courts with the mostly unnecessary cases too. If you drink 2 martinis at lunch time or supper time  for a start  you are definitely an alcoholic.. andf if you are an alcoholic you should be fired from your job as well.
.

Drinking alcohol cause permanent brain damage, it also causes a significant deterioration of one’s mental capabilities, deterioration of one’s inter personal relationship skills, it also causes more car accidents than speeding or not having adequate winter tires, it also reduces significantly one’s work productivity as well undeniably too.  So  tell us all now:
– How much money did the Prime Minister, the Premiers themselves now spend on Alcoholic consumption entertainment last year,
– How Much money did the federal, provincial cabinet ministers now spend on Alcoholic consumption entertainment last year
– How much money did the civil and public servants now spend on Alcoholic consumption entertainment last year
I trust you all can readily supply us all with the answers
.

Fundamental evangelical pastors preach it is a sin for any Christian to drink alcohol, Liberal Christians such as Catholics or Eastern Orthodox church say it is not. But one thing no one can deny is how harmful drinking alcohol is.. in Russia 60 percent of men and women die due to drinking alcohol..

.

I was also very sad to note as to how many evangelical, Christian  pastors, politicians still do falsely approve of drinking alcohol even though their real Christian colleagues preach against it..

.

I still would rightfully rather see pastor first live a sermon instead of too often now merely preach it to others and I really do think it is so farcical how some sinfully, proud evangelical pastors are ready to condemn others, to gossip about, to now preach about the other person’s  sins but someone how they can’t seem to deal with their own false abuse of others, their own sins, and their own false pride. Sadly I have often been in bad Christian churches where the clearly crooked pastor to turn off attention off himself would bash some other churches, some other denominations and some other persons, but all that bashing of his now did not still deny his own sins and his own wrong doings though now. The Bad preacher are not the only ones who can preach about other people’s sins and demand others to repent, so can I, bad pastors now included and I rightfuly  do often as well.

.

(Gal 6:1 KJV)  Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2  Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3  For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceived himself. 4  But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5  For every man shall bear his own burden.
.

Now as I was reflecting about my many past posts on the net  in the last few years I was really saddened to note that too many of them were about bad , greedy people trying to steal , trying to get other people’s money for themselves, stealing the money, or getting  it under false pretences. The love of more money is still the basis of what many of the wrong doings is, was all about..(Eccl 8:11 KJV)  Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
 .
I have often also met in evangelical circles the despotic foremen,  dictatorial types, bully, jungle fighter   leaders, the same persons who think they are supreme over all others, they can take the law into their own hands, and even do what they want over any others, physically now as well. I have not totally now understood how these unacceptable, abusive slave drivers got to this personality stage or why they falsely think in their abusive pride they will get away with it forever now as well. Ironically the wolves in sheep clothing exist Canada wide, even in evangelical churches, political circles too now, and I guess for me telling the truth that is why so many of them hate me, do not hesitate to ban me or kick me out of their often also  bad churches now too..
 .
I had attended a recent comical church service,  New Beginnings Ministry 9412 Rue Clement Lasalle, QC H8R1T5 Phone: (514) 363-1080., a farcical circus, not the first time now too,  where Stéphane Chauvette Associate Pastor was preaching about everything, bashing everyone else, but somehow he could not keep his own promises, his  own word, or stay on a specific valid subject. And he made it clear if you  rock his boat he will next also kick you off the ship..  The  hypocritical, pretentious fundamental right winged evangelical pastor of this New Life Beginnings in LaSalle, Quebec  Preaches next openly  now  for us not to believe any of the news media and for us not to  have anything to do with any person who drinks wine, and to stand up against all of the people who do any wrong, to even openly speak to them, ( as long as it is not the pastor himself  for sure) and yet he lied and says come and talk to me your pastor after church. I am always really interested to hear from you about all of your concerns but  in reality when you do try to talk to him.. for next  I thus told him that our PM stephen Harper the supposedly good Christian now drinks beer/wine.. Tom Flanagan, a political scientist at the University of Calgary and Harper’s former campaign director and chief of staff said that Prime Minister Stephen Harper was his regularly beer drinking buddy. Others confirmed that Harper drinks wine and Beer such as even George Bush..   well  next the pastor really got upset at me..  since he himself cannot handle negative truths, he the ostrich no good pastor refused to further talk with me  and said  he was tired now, he  refuses to hear any of that, he refuses to believe any of that, for that is all gossip,  slanders, and also we do not allow anyone who causes disturbance, problems, gives any criticism in our church, so please leave now. So much for this supposedly Christ like church and their false professing Christian love, false brotherly love, their supposed openness now, and one’s free speech too..
 .
Freedom of speech to many of these despotic, self centered, agenda oriented  preacher  is generally one way, they alone are allowed to do all of the talking, and no one else, everyone else is only allowed to listen is also what I have directly experienced here too. If you challenge what they say they falsely do immediately divorce you, even physically assault you and kick you out of the church now too.  The same pastor says he does not believe anything the news media writes at all. So who does he believe? only himself it seems and anyone else like minded. So what truth is he really now peddling, a distorted ones clearly. For the record, Stephen Harper Prime Minister of Canada himself now did  not even deny to me that he drinks beers and/or alcohol, or that he even gives presents of alcohol to others as well. So why do any of the others? Why did this pastor? They can only face the negative reality from a distance… Not  the first time I do now meet such fundamental ostriches.. https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/01/23/alcoholic/
.
One of the things I have found also so confounding is how many preachers can be filled with both truths and lies, falsehood, errors and how come? Why is that?   I was passing through the city of Chicago on the way to Winnipeg and I had decided to stop in a Pentecostal church, that I had read about in Christians magazines, books now too, this Church had regular Sunday services casting out demons out of Christians too. I was dismayed to  hear the preacher at a Sunday morning service also preach that the Russians had an army of tanks on the US border in Canada ready too invade the US, and most people there had next accepted this as the truth. Funny or sad  how so many people seem to be ready to believe gross lies over the truth, reality  from their leaders now even  in churches as well. For certainty I next saw no Russians tanks at the Canadian border when I drove on to Calgary Alberta as well.
  .

(Gal 3:26 KJV)  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
 .
(Job 13:4 KJV)  But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.
 .
(1 Cor 14:29 KJV)  Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
 .
(1 Cor 14:31 KJV)  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
.

Please do have the local LaSalle police remind the pastors, elders, members, adherents of this Pentecostal church that is is still illegal for the pastor or anyone else now there too to physically assault anyone, even if it is in their church. They may have a right to ask anyone to leave their premises, but as I have witnessed myself now they do not have a right to physically grab, lay hands, assault any person in their church even now too especially when he did nothing wrong.. That right is only for the police and is limited for them as well.. If someone next after being asked refuses to leave the church when asked they can call the police. I told them that I was glad to leave this church on my own free will and will be just as glad not to come back too.

.

Honor Killings, Violence. In reality too the Cops themselves, RCMP included, now   are not the only one who resort to violence when their authority is threatened, so do some clearly bad, hot tempered evangelical  pastors now too..  I too before have already experienced in Canada  a  direct physical assault of me by  a rogue Pentecostal pastor who had punched me, physically assaulted me, with no provocation too,, in front of a witness, backed up with a police report , cause I had refused to go to his church. An another Pentecostal pastor and even a church elder,  were  attempting to physically abuse me to stop my public revelations of his unacceptable acts, thefts of money too. and the same thing had happened to my own brother on another occasion and he too had called the police and reported the matter who also had experience physical assault attempt  by a Plymouth Brethren pastor. But none of this should be a surprise when a pastor’s authority, financial security is threatened ehh..
.
“Opposition parties are threatening to vote down this week’s much-anticipated Conservative budget because it contains a potentially contentious proposal to permanently slash taxes for middle-class Canadians. While the Conservatives say the tax cuts will help working families during a challenging economic era, the Liberals say the rollback is ill-advised and will do little to stimulate the economy. “If the permanent tax cuts were very large, we would be very concerned, partly because it would saddle future generations with a big debt and a permanent deficit,” Liberal finance critic John McCallum told CTV’s Question Period Sunday. McCallum added that the tax reductions will be an ineffectual stimulus because people are more likely to save extra money during recessionary periods. And if the Tory budget fails to deliver what’s best for Canada, McCallum said the Liberals will have little option than to vote it down. ” Harper’s budget seems to be more of his political buying toys over rally kick starting the economy. Something he Harper had promised he would not do as well. Canadians should be skeptical of any new spending announcements by Harper’s administration. The moves are an attempt to cement public support for Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s minority government .  “Their track record when it comes to putting shovels in the ground is the worst of any recent government at any level in terms of actually getting things built and money spent,” ,  Liberal MP Gerard Kennedy also lamented that Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Conservative government has spent only 20 percent of previously announced infrastructure funding.
.

When it suits him only PM Stephen Harper is willing to leak information to the citizens, news media.. Stephen Harper was elected based on his past promises of a new and better form of governing, openness, transparency and accountability.. none of these promises were kept next as well. Canada’s Conservative government’s own cult of secrecy. It now under Stephen Harper is Harder than ever to get information from the federal government  Harper clearly himself has penchant for secrecy. “Not since the advent of the Access to Information Act (ATIA) in 1983, has it been so difficult to get timely information from the Canadian government.  Delays routinely extend seven months past the 30-day requirement to release records; complaints can take over two years for a response. A two-year backlog of complaints to the commissioner “permits several federal institutions to enjoy a two-year amnesty (extension) to release records..  and the long delays in responding “encourages many institutions to claim a range of exemptions, exclusions or exaggerated fees which would not otherwise be permitted under the act, knowing . . . it will take the commissioner no less than two years to adjudicate the complaint.”   In 2007-2008, of 29,000 Freedom of Information requests received, 1,381 investigations were completed, leaving 2,387 to be carried over. The lesson ..”that the mere existence of an access statute does not, in itself, guarantee access to information.”  The Harper government has increased “exclusions, exceptions and prohibitions” in disclosing information, thus “government institutions are still operating under a cult of secrecy.”

 .
Harper’s turnarounds include:

The Senate. He was adamant he would not resort to the old politics of stacking the upper chamber with party cronies. But faced with the possible defeat of his minority government, Harper moved fast before Christmas to fill 18 vacancies with loyal Conservatives, many failed candidates or with party ties.• Fixed election date. In May 2006, Harper proposed fixed election date legislation that would set the next election date in October 2009, to stop political leaders from “trying to manipulate the calendar.”
 .
Instead, Harper called an election last September, saying that Parliament had reached an “impasse.” But he was also hoping to capitalize on his own promising poll numbers and a weak official Opposition before the economy worsened.
 .
Now if he  PM Stephen Harper now was  was so smart in the first place then  how come he could not even see the recession coming? or the coalition threat? Conservative Governments also tend to never spend wisely in the first place. Can they even be trusted firstly to next even keep their promises? So now can we even really trust the PM Stephen Harper and his Conservative government for sure next even when their budget  motivation is done in panic — due to Harper’s   near-death political experience forced on him by the opposition. Harper originally came into government promising to make it smaller and more efficient and is clearly willing to sell all of his principles to stay in power at all costs. Foolishly Merely Giving away money, or going into a large deficit,  themselves are  not a sure way to revive the economy.

AND WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THEM?

Now we have revelaltion in Sept 2009 of alcohol abuse in Ontario too

And why did it take so long to investigate and take action when this was brought out before in the past?

The “culture of entitlement” at the lottery corporation appears to be a deep-rooted problem that will not be solved by the new procedures put in place by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, said Kevin Gaudet, federal director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

Under the new Ontario Government rules revealed this month , employees with unacceptable expense claims such as alcohol for staff functions and personal items must repay the taxpayers. McGuinty’s move follows the revelations employees at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp expensed items such as a $3,713.77 dinner for 38 people that included more than 10 bottles of wine and other alcohol. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.’s 10 highest-paid employees expensed at least $2,533 on alcohol between January, 2007, and December, 2008. A sales and marketing meeting at the Keg resulted in a $260 liquor tab; 38 people at a pre- Sound of Music business dinner drank $885 worth of alcoholic beverages. Any hospitality event at which alcohol was served would have to receive prior approval. The same provincial public-service rules also require written approval before all out-of-province travel, rarely evident in the documents the province made public this week. It all now still reveals a culture of acceptability that is inappropriate in a recession and in any Crown environment. The past provincial directive, which has been in place since 2004, states that “reimbursement of meal costs must not include the reimbursement for any alcoholic beverages.” The Ontario Liberals have also ordered a review of the 600 provincial agencies, boards and commissions to root out spending abuses. New Democrat Leader Andrea Horwath said the added layer of scrutiny doesn’t assuage concerns about widespread illicit spending among government agencies. NOW WHAT ABOUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?

I am also now outraged over Conservatives travel expenses. “We should be outraged over travel expenses.. Toronto Star published a story on Nov. 22 detailing what appeared to be exorbitant travel expenses for federal government cabinet ministers and some public servants. Firstly Considering the state of the economy at this time and the fact the federal government will be returning to deficit financing, it should not only be encouraging federal travellers to fly economy class but insist on it.  The Star said its investigation found spending by ministers, political staff and bureaucrats to be far from the frugal image of the Harper government. “Some federal travellers can’t seem to get to London, England, for less than $6,000, even though economy seats were available for $1,000 to $2,000,” the Star said. “In our analysis of 60,000 travel records over four years, we found $18,000 flights to Australia, $7,000 flights to Paris, $11,000 flights to Indonesia and $8,000 flights to Switzerland.  The Alberta environment minister and an aide spent $3,200 each to fly to Bali for a United Nations conference on climate change. Former federal environment minister John Baird spent $10,920 for a flight to the same conference. Add in three political aides and two bureaucrats at similar rates and the total airfare cost to the Canadian taxpayer was $61,000.  The Star said it found that Harper’s ministers often travel with a large entourage at high cost.   The Star said it found that while both had been big spenders, “most Conservative ministers spent slightly more than the Liberals they once accused of being lavish spenders.”  However, Tony Clement wasn’t one of them. The then-Conservative health minister travelled economy to Kenya and Tanzania to visit health clinics and deliver a $150,000 government cheque. However, the whole trip wasn’t done on the cheap. For some unexplained reason Clement allowed two aides to sit up front in executive class at $11,000 a pop, bringing the total cost to $30,000 to deliver a $150,000 aid cheque.”  http://www.saultstar.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1402617 .

The federal government should take immediate action to control interest rates and fees on consumer credit cards because those climbing costs are choking consumers and businesses amid the deepening recession, says Senator Pierrette Ringuette. Ringuette, a Liberal from New Brunswick, argues the upcoming federal budget is a golden opportunity for Conservative Finance Minister Jim Flaherty to tackle the controversial issue of regulation.  Caps on interest and other fees are firmly on the political agenda in other countries. But with no clear sign that such measures are in the works here, Ringuette is urging members of the upper chamber to champion the cause. As Flaherty unveils his budget in the lower house on Tuesday, Ringuette will lay the groundwork to revive a motion for the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce to probe Canada’s credit card and debit card systems. In addition to scrutinizing consumer rates, she wants to examine other behind-the-scenes charges including interchange and merchant discount rates. “Canadians must be boiling mad right now because nobody is paying attention to the consumer,” Ringuette said. She questions how the economy can rebound if consumers and businesses must absorb higher costs on “Canadians must be boiling mad right now because nobody is paying attention to the consumer,” Ringuette said. She questions how the economy can rebound if consumers and businesses must absorb higher costs on credit cards at a time when many are struggling to stay afloat.  Other countries, meanwhile, have bolstered regulations. In December, American regulators announced sweeping changes, including a new rule to protect consumers from interest-rate increases on existing account balances. Taking effect in 2010, that change means credit card companies can only raise interest rates on new cards, future purchases and advances.  http://www.thestar.com/business/article/576545

Tom Flanagan, a former Harper campaign organizer and strategist, said Harper has transformed from a conservative ideologue to a political survivor, but remains a victim of his own dark side. “Both sides are real … but what you see more and more is the political Harper,” said Flanagan, author of the acclaimed Harper’s Team: Behind the Scenes in the Conservative Rise to Power.

Tom Flanagan, a political scientist at the University of Calgary and Harper’s former campaign director and chief of staff said that the Conservative  strategists before the 2006 federal election. Conservatives wanted to attract Roman Catholics, visible minorities and married women with children.  By cutting taxes, particularly the GST, Harper has simply starved the centre-left of the fiscal room for new, big-ticket social programs he also said.. Gerry Nicholls of the conservative online portal Libertas Post says Harper caters to “populist conservative” values such the family, the military and criminal justice – but avoids the issues of individual freedom, smaller government and balanced books.

Flanagan said the “Machiavellian” side is far more troubling than his political transformation, given that it almost cost him his government. “He lost the initiative by provoking the other parties into this potential coalition against him … and now he finds himself having to put together a budget which is really a coalition budget … the government’s hand is fairly weak right now.”” Toronto Star

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has made tax cuts a top priority since he was first elected as the leader of the Conservative party but has he rather made things worse now?

Harper also accused of ditching principles to keep power. The same person  who revered his conservative ideology is clearly now he’s sacrificing it for political expediency. From the Senate to fixed-date elections , government appointments, defecits,  Prime Minister Stephen Harper has sent  his political principles into the waste bin.  “”We will not be running a deficit. We will keep our spending within our means. It is that simple. The alternative is not a plan. It is just the consequence of complete panic, and this government will not panic at a time of uncertainty,” Harper told a Toronto audience on Oct. 7. Times change quickly and, with them, the politicians who rule .”Absolutely he has abandoned his principles … I don’t even recognize this person who is the Prime Minister of Canada,” said Gerry Nicholls, who worked with Harper at the National Citizens Coalition. Harper is a one-time head of the coalition, a non-partisan organization for the “defence and promotion of free enterprise, free speech” and accountable government. “He was a principled small-c conservative who believed that … conservative politicians should stick by their principles,” Nicholls said. “I think he began to care more about public-opinion polls than his principles.”

Prime Minister Stephen Harper also has broken with traditional budget secrecy, revealing nearly $6-billion in spending plans over the past three days…     This from a prime minister who just months ago vowed there would be no deficit. The Tories are planning to run deficits totalling $64-billion over the next two fiscal years, including $34-billion in the first year and $30-billion in the second. Other spending announced in recent days:
$1.5-billion in funding to boost training for laid-off workers including even those who are ineligible for Employment Insurance
$500-million in targeted support for older workers
$1-billion in funding for renovating social housing
$600-million for on-reserve aboriginal housing
$400-million for seniors’ housing
$75-million for housing for people with disabilities
$1-billion community adjustment fund for single-industry and resource towns hardest hit by this economic crisis (forestry, mining and agriculture communities). This national fund would have flexible criteria for applicants in order to help their communities adjust to the changing economic climate
$160-million for new investments in arts and culture
$150-million in forestry industry aid, including more than $100-million to develop new uses for forest products and $50-million to help promote the industry abroad as environmentally responsible
$550-million for farmers, including half a billion to help adjust to tough times and $50-million to expand slaughterhouse capacity
I have often heard it said that most Canadians Canada wide now are still like fearful sheep they are too ready to be fleeced, sadly it also seems they must have ostrich genes in them for when you present negative truths they tend to often rather bury their heads in the sand as well it  seems.. especially in in too many of the evangelical churches.. or  the ostrich sheep in Alberta who also now too often seem to think no Conservative politician can ever do any wrong rather it has to be the other bad guys, you know the liberals. Or the BQ separatists, the communist NDP… Ironically the wolves in sheep clothing exist Canada wide, in evangelical churches, political circles too now, and I guess for me telling the truth that is why so many of them hate me, do not hesitate to ban me or kick me out of their often also  bad churches now too.. http://postedat.wordpress.com/2009/08/31/get-real-now/

Gal 5:19 KJV)  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20   Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21   Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  (Col 3:5 KJV)  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6   For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

(1 Cor 5:11 KJV)  But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12   For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13   But them that are without God judgeth. ** The Pastor had said that God does not let us to talk to anyone who drinks wine, but this is a rather distorted, extreme interpretation of the Bible, The Bible clearly says WE ARE NOT TO FELLOWSHIP WITH A CHRISTIAN PERSONS WHO GETS DRUNK.. now that is really different from not talking to any of the people who drink wine.. and why is this pastor so ready not to talk with others now too? so ready to smite them, to kick them out of church? If you have love for someone you are willing to talk with them, but if you do not have love for them, especially if, when you know they do not support you, do not agree with your presentation, do not agree  with your point of view, you as a pastor too no can personally can instead  refuse to love them, you refuse to talk to them, you find any excuse to reject, ostracize, divorce them basically to deny, to cover up the unacceptable reality that you yourself the pastor actually do not have any love for them.

• Supreme Court appointments. In December, Harper appointed Thomas Cromwell of the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal to the Supreme Court, bypassing a parliamentary hearing process he championed to more openly scrutinize nominees.

• Government appointments. The Prime Minister had promised to implement a public appointments commission to eliminate cronyism in such appointments. It was to be part of the government’s much-vaunted Accountability Act. It never happened and, since winning its first minority government in January 2006, the Tory government has made some 1,500 appointments, many based on political pedigree.

Only the US cops drive drunk now?

An off-duty cop slammed his car into the front of Tiffany’s flagship Fifth Avenue store at 3 a.m.  in a crash that investigators suspect may have been alcohol related, police sources said.  The car – with the officer behind the wheel – plowed into a garbage truck at the corner of 57th St. and Fifth Ave. before careening onto the sidewalk at 3 a.m.,   The impact was strong enough that the three occupants had to be cut out of the vehicle. All were hospitalized. DWI charges are likely. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/cop_crashes_into_tiffany_booze_suspected_7GIcYrovjcWQis8PAaDtsK

.
While there is no way of knowing exactly the real number of drunk drivers on the road every day — police can’t be catching them  at all times, if they are certainly not trying too but instead are wrongfully spending their time and energy on revenue generating speeding tickets. Yes impaired driving is everyone’s business and  all citizens who see erratic, unsafe and suspected impaired driving need to call police on the 911 line. Police can’t be everywhere at all times, but they should respond  fast and effectively when alerted. And simply lower the allowed blood alcohol limit to the chosen point at which drivers are deemed no longer any danger and showing no tolerance for drunk drivers
 .
Not only are so many of our civil and public servants bad examples, even alcoholics now too, but the Governments, Police are too soft on alcoholics too. 6 times more persons are killed by drunk driving over speeding at least. Many drunk drivers are only prosecuted by the police npw still only mainly two months of the year, December, January and those who drunls who have lost their license to drive a car next the majority of them keep driving without a license next anyway.
.

Provincial governments in Canada are making record breaking profits by encouraging the citizens to consume even more  alcohol, beer and are making even  more even by the  taxation of these products. They should not be  encouraging the citizens to do so.

(Prov 21:9 KJV)  It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

Bullies, abusers, liars, slanderers tend to be clearly immoral persons who try to enslave others uancceptably even if they profess to be Christian or what ever,,

>>My ex-husband smokes pot and drinks a lot, and I am told, so does his girlfriend. He once told me that I am too righteous because I don’t drink or do drugs, and I attend church.

and that was a verbal abuse if I have ever seen one..

so do thank God daily that he has now removed your from this  abusive relationship..

and do ask Him, God  to take all the tears away and he will.

(Psa 4:8 KJV)  I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

(Rev 21:4 KJV)  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

and there still can be a good life after divorce with God’s help…

Truly any type of abuse is unacceptable and anywhere too

and exposing it loudly in public as well as calling the police is the best way to deal with it for everyone’s benefit, the abuser included.

God himself clearly does not accept verbal, physical, or human rights abuses

(Mat 18:6 KJV) But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

(Mat 18:7 KJV) Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

(Mat 18:8 KJV) Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

No we ALL cannot STOP, take the ostrich approach under the guise of love to the definite bad acts of others, we as Christians are still called to be fruit inspectors of those who profess to be Christians ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY RARELY QUOTE IT in actual context OR LIVE THE BIBLE THEY CLAIM THEY BELIEVE IN-

(Gen 31:42 KJV) Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.

(Lev 19:17 KJV) Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

(Neh 5:7 KJV) Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.

(Psa 119:21 KJV) Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.

(Prov 24:25 KJV) But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

(Prov 27:5 KJV) Open rebuke is better than secret love.

(Eccl 7:5 KJV) It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

(Mat 17:18 KJV) And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

(Mark 1:25 KJV) And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

(Mark 4:39 KJV) And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

(Mark 8:33 KJV) But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

(1 Tim 5:20 KJV) Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

(2 Tim 4:2 KJV) Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

(Titus 1:13 KJV) This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

(Titus 2:15 KJV) These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

(Heb 12:5 KJV) And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

(Rev 3:19 KJV) As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

“This is from the book by Patricia Evans http://andthenshecried.wordpress.com/2008/02/05/the-verbally-abusive-relationship-how-to-recognize-it-and-how-to-respond

Verbal abuse is a kind of battering which doesn’t leave evidence like physical abuse does. However, it can be just as painful, and recovery can take much longer. The victim of abuse lives in a gradually more confusing realm. In public she is with one man, in private he becomes another. Often, for the verbally abused woman (man), there is no witness to her reality and no one to understand her experiences. Friends and family continue to see her ex, the abuser, as a really good guy and, certainly, he agrees with them. The verbal abuser, while maintaining his charm with others, always takes his abuse behind closed doors. It is a means of holding power over his wife( husband) /partner.. Many women and some men leave a marriage and come back into the singles’ world with the diminished self-esteem that comes from a verbally abusive relationship. The fact that many of these women (men) have never even realized that they were being abused, makes it easy for them to enter another abusive relationship. A verbal abuser is an insecure person and immature person who is looking for power and control over another. In order to help you recognize abuse, remember that all forms of verbal abuse are methods of manipulating you for the purpose of establishing power over you. The following are some of the forms of verbal abuse the author helps you recognize.

  1. Withholding: a purposeful, silent treatment.
  2. Countering: a countering of your ideas, feelings, and perceptions, even going so far as to refute what he misconstrues you to have said.
  3. Discounting–a putdown of you or something you hold dear.
  4. Blocking and diverting–this is a sneaky, covert way of violating your dignity.
  5. Accusation and blame: generally involves lies about the partner’s intentions, attitudes, and motives. The author states that accusation and blame is present in all verbally abusive relationships.
  6. Judging and criticizing: lies about your personal qualities and performance.
  7. Trivializing and undermining: abusive behavior which makes light of your work, your efforts, your interests, or your concerns. The abuser attempts to dilute meaning and value in your life. Undermining might occur when your partner laughs at you, for example, when you burn yourself cooking. It is also jokes at your expense. Undermining is occurring when you feel a “so-called joke” is mean rather than funny.
  8. Name calling: no one has a right to call you degrading names. Name calling is verbal abuse.
  9. Ordering: Telling you to do something, rather than asking, or making decisions for you or for the two of you without your input.
  10. Forgetting and denial: the trickiest form of denial is forgetting. Become aware that forgetting is a form of denial that shifts all responsibility from the abuser to some “weakness of mind.”
  11. Abusive anger: this seems to be closely linked to the need to “blow up,” to dominate, to control, to go one up, and to put down. Any time you are snapped at or yelled at, you are being abused.
Threatening: Physical threats and sexual threats aside, verbal threats are an effort at manipulation. For example, a threat to leave, stay out all night, or take you home immediately is a manipulation for power. The threat of “pending disaster” is designed to shatter the partner’s serenity as well as her boundaries.

If you counter the abuser or attempt to explain yourself, you will probably be met with such statements as, “I don’t want to hear it, get out of my face” or “Woman you don’t have the brains“, “BYou shouldn’t have said that to me“.

If you are in a brand-new relationship and see warning signs of verbal abuse, the author suggests you might be wise to let the relationship go. It is not likely that a man (woman) who needs to dominate and control will change easily, if at all. It is also likely that when the newness of the relationship wears off, he will become more abusive. Verbal abuse can become physical in time and physical abuse is always preceded by verbal abuse, according to Evans. If you are in a long-term relationship, you can respond to the abuser as the book suggests and soon discover for yourself whether or not your mate is willing to change and stop his abusive behavior.

“If you have been verbally abused in your relationship, you may have discovered that explaining and trying to understand have not improved your relationship. Therefore, I recommend that you respond in a new way–a way that will make an emotional, psychological, and intellectual impact upon your mate.”

The abuser in your relationship may change when he finds that you do know when you are being abused, that you have set limits, that you mean what you say, and that you will not take behavior you don’t like.

If the man ( or sadly too often now a women) in your relationship remains abusive, it is not only not your fault,” it is  your responsibility to deal with it, make it public, call the police too.

Any person cannot still fight with you of you leave his or her presences, even forever.. and there is still a good life after a failed marriage now too. I practise what I preach and often now too.

The first spouse, love seems  is always the best one in our false pride.. and I know what that is like too.. WE SEEM ALL TO REPEAT OUR BAD TASTE, VALUES.. When they let a person out a prison they generally have a rule not to let them return to his old environment, past home, for five years.. otherwise they will be under the same old bad habits, dispositions too..

NOTE I lost once everything I had owned.. still next I replaced it all with the same things, even though I never used most of them, old habits and bad tastes DO die hard still too for almost all of us..

Now still reporting publically the abusers, and calling the POLICE TOO most often solves the abuse problem the best.. for if the evil persons do not feel real negative personal consequences, REAL negative public exposures, they really have no reasons to change their bad habits next and likely then never will.

I rightfully too tend to openly expose all abusers, all bad people, all bad churches, all bad politicians, all bad corporations that I come across, and  often and I  also do do call the police, regulating authorities  often and demand they all be fired,   be put in jail too.

I was also still surprised how popular this post now is too.

To be fair the judge should first go after the major pornography watchers on the net, for what now the  Hollywood movie piracy is more of an immoral act over watching pornography? or will the judges do that next and get a list of the  porno users too? and what next? Home and more privacy invasions too!! Unbelieveable

There are yes too many  false sheep who worship those crooked leaders, shepherds, pastors dressed in nice suits. Not trying to impress anyone, or showing off I next went to a new church dressed in my clean, regular daily clothes. I next too was surprised when now one said hello to me nor did they great me, and a few services later this continued to happen. So I prayed about it and to my surprise God said they were harlots, prostitutes. Embarrassed at this revelation I decided I would fully proof for myself this was true. So next Sunday I put on a white shirt, tie, nice black pants, and a white sports jacket and most everyone said hello  to me. Incidentally the same thing happens to me on the bus as well.. Why?  Also the very same pastor of this professing Christian church dressed there in a nice suit who also did not talk to me as well was next charged with abuse, slander, lying, misappropriation of church funds, and was eventually fired. Now these days when I see these peacock members, deacons, ushers  strutting around church in their fancy suits trying to impress the others , it causes me to be sick to my stomach still. It would be better if they used the money rather to help the poor and needy in their own church.

Big bad bullies have too often threathen to take me to court, bad cops now too, I often tell them next to go ahead  for we all do need the publicity, public exposure and they tend to back off.

It is still up to the courts or the Human Rights commissions  firstly to confirm, to define what is actually libelous, slanderous, a hate email message..  and someone’s else’s  statement and opinions  on the subject does not count. But to be on the safe side if you want to avoid court costs, ligation, if you are unsure if what you write is libel, slanderous, prosecutable better not post it on the net. Wrongfully accusing someone of posting a hate message or being a racists clearly can  be challenged in courts as a hate message itself and prosecutable.

Canada’s  Supreme Court throws out libel case against outspoken B.C. talk show host   VANCOUVER — The country’s top court has absolved former Vancouver radio personality Rafe Mair of defamation for a commentary.   The Supreme Court of Canada decision in the defamation suit also broadened a key defence often used by journalists to ward off libel actions. In a 9-0 judgment Friday, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that Mair was engaging in fair comment in the 1999 radio editorial that was critical of Kari Simpson, a high-profile player in a campaign opposing the use of teaching materials about gay lifestyles in local schools. In the course of the editorial, the controversial former radio commentator made references to the Klan, Hitler and skinheads, although he claimed he wasn’t saying that Simpson actually advocated violence against gays. The judge went on, however, to say that Mair wasn’t liable for damages because he held an honest belief in the views he expressed – one of the traditional elements in the legal defence long known as fair comment. The Supreme Court, in Friday’s judgment   went on to rewrite the legal test for such a defence.  There was no proof that Mair’s dominant motive was personal malice,   and thus “his expression of opinion, however, exaggerated, was protected by the law. “We live in a free country where people have as much right to express outrageous and ridiculous opinions as moderate ones.” A key component of the fair comment defence has long been that the person making the comment must sincerely believe in it. In the course of the ruling, however, the high court modified that test. Commentary must still have a factual basis, be made without malice and be in the public interest, said Binnie. But the test of honest belief is not whether the specific person holding the opinion believed it. The yardstick is whether any person might honestly hold the view based on the facts at issue. Binnie acknowledged that is “not a high threshold” for any defendant to met. But neither is it appropriate to rule out “a piece of devil’s advocacy” in any debate on a matter of public importance.  Mair, who no longer works at the station, said he’s glad they took the case to the high court. “This could be a enormous benefit to the journalism industry and therefore, to the people that read and watch it,” Mair said in Vancouver. http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5jdP5CRF6hm0H_fuYFL_m6d_jI7GQ

Too many people  still do believe in their own sole right of free speech still but they  do next try to deny these same right of others by even threatening to sue them for libel, slander.. sound Familiar Mr Stephen Harper PM of Canada? or Bell Sympatico? or the Toronto Airport Fellowship Church pastors? Benny Hynn? etc.,

Now in Canada even  I am very used to people the much too many Bullies who  try to falsely dominate you, and these bullies go overboard in their reactions when you expose the truth about them and others  especially when their pet idols, or careers are threatened.  Me I am still rightfully actively resistant  to all of the  abusers, bullies, liars, even to the Church, GOVERNMENTAL, CORPORATE, POLICE  oppressions still too. Even those persons who falsely try to send lawyers or the police to my home to harass me, to try to intimidate me, to shut me up...

Reality! These days it is too hard to tell the difference even between secular persons and even evangelical pastors, they seem to do the same things too. http://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2008/06/29/hard-to-tell-the-difference/

The pastors of the Toronto airport fellowship Church and many other pastors, Christians groups on the net  had asked me in writing not to write to them, and what they can preach about the sins of others but I can’t do that to them? What hypocrisy on their parts now still too.  Even in the churches, evangelical pastoral sections there are much too many really bad unacceptable apples still out there. Too often now our personal rights in this country are now slowly being forcibly demanded to ne sidetracked to accommodate others wishes … Imagine what Canada would be like if any of the church pastors, government forcibly told the citizens, the columnists, editors, commentators what they could and could not publish. Imagine if we had something like a Ministry of Truth, a Ministry of the Media, a Ministry of Thought. If that doesn’t scare you then you rightfully  scare me. These bullying groups appear to be using any angle within the law, courts,  or their influence to try and become our ’superiors’ in some way. It’s about time that truths that are unpalatable to certain sections of our society be allowed to be expressed. We live in a free country, with the right to freedom of expression and speech. Telling the facts does not constitute a ‘hate’ crime now as well. Only those people who want to curtail or own freedoms while they use theirs  would call this a hate crime. If these various groups or people cannot tolerate anyone’s free speech, or debate, why in the world are they living in the west?  If you don’t like the freedoms that are enjoyed by ALL citizens here, then go live in a country where theirs and your freedom  now is denied.  Without freedom of speech, and the freedom of the press we can no longer claim to be a democratic country. No one has the right to stifle the free dispensing of valuable information. Not even Evangelical pastors.  We must all be be vigilant against any attempts of demonic enslavement of us and the  false hindrances of our own rights.  “Those that try to silence honest, open, and free speech are a danger to this country. I hold that to be true. “

I clearly do believe in the right of everyone to speak, to speak out as well,  and to be equally heard by all, so we can all judge what has been said if it is appropriate and we can next corresponding act upon it, even in the church, in the government, on the Internet now too. Clearly some people falsely DO DISALLOW THIS RIGHT… the bad persons especially as even I know this for sure. They respond with a personal attack, inquisition, censorship, lies, slanders, diversions, distortions, instead of facing, dealing with the facts, truths being presented. Confirming to many what they still are really like, immoral, abusive bullies.
..
I KNOW FROM DECADES OF FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCES IN MY ENCOUNTERS WITH COPS, LAWYERS, PASTORS, SO CALLED PROFESSIONALS,  OTHERS TOO, that most often now in reality the very same people who do tend to preach to others that we all must not steal, tell lies, drive drunk, that we must respect other person’s rights, all the laws…  those very  same persons who so readily  tend to preach the rules to others, those very same persons  who  expect all of the others to falsely obey  the rules even now  all the while they most often tend to be the firstly the  very same persons to break most of  the rules themselves, they themselves they do not keep them, and they still also  falsely believe they personally are exempt from living the rules cause  they do preach them  to others. What you had never encountered crooked cops, crooked pastors, crooked lawyers, crooked managers, bad executives, lying no good politicians too?  These same persons  who too  readily judge others, and who demand, want to enforce the rules upon the others, they  cannot see the truth as to who they are firstly, they themselves are now the lying hypocrites.  Even the Insurance companies do love excessive rules, and next have people break them so that way they can make more money next too.  Seems you cannot trust anyone, any group, and yes  they all have to regulated, reviewed, and that is why too many OF THE BAD PERSONS THERE they seem not to love our free speech and try falsely to oppress it.

Another great example was big brother Bell Sympatico originally done  in secret capping of the internet downloads which as you still can read about   in full too in many places on the net was apparently caused by their  very questionable motives, even a distorted, false excuse to charge more money to customers, a greedy  attempt to make internet users buy and download rather  Bell movies, an attempt to put Bell’s  sub ISPs out of business, and much more.. so Bell Sympatico rightfully  is now even facing a class action  lawsuit in this regard too… and bad negative publicity, exposure too.

Law and order enforcement  starts firstly in the leaders own life. Exemplary Public exposure and prosecution of these real bad guys serves as a best deterrent to all too. Free speech and whistle blowers hell to make this happen too and bad guys wrongfully do not like this.. to bad for the bad guys.. and doing nothing about bad guys helps to makes it all worse.. so do something, write to the news editors, elected officials now too even if the bad guys do not like this. I am not only transparently honest, straight forward, and rightfully too,  but I rightfully do still judge any of our leaders. civil and public servants, PROFESSIONALS. managers, executives too  NOW  not only per their past words, promises, acts,  but also by a higher exemplary standard, BEHAVIOR now as well especially when they profess to be Christians, or rather as often in reality so called “Christian alcoholics”, or hypocrites .. which is rather an UNACCEPTABLE oxymoron.

If you took 2 martinis or 2 beers a day you are an alcoholic. Alcoholism is a crime and not a disease, it is a crime, it is just as lethal, bad, and it is really unacceptable as selling or taking bad drugs too. Canada’s bad drug problem, drunk driving, alcoholism is increasing not just amongst the teens, but also in the work place, in the government now as well even amongst the civil and public servants. Most major home violence, car or truck accidents are still associated with alcohol now too and not speeding. It’s a fact that drinking alcohol can seriously damage one’s health and cause permanent brain damage as well .Alcohol may lead to liver problems, a variety of cancers as well as forms of osteoporosis and depression, and studies are showing, too, that women are more susceptible to the ill effects of alcohol than are men. We know that being an alcoholic is a terrible sin that now damages the person’s brain, affects their ability to work, to drive a car, and negatively affects their own behavior and affects many others too. The same reality is true of one taking now bad drugs as well.

Blinked? Canadian Human Rights Commission Dismisses Complaint Against Maclean’s

[CNW, Press Release] Maclean’s magazine is pleased that the Canadian Human Rights Commission has dismissed the complaint brought against it by the Canadian Islamic Congress. The decision is in k… more »

Mind you the same radio station did not like all the bad publicity they got and the radio personality next lost his job anyway.

Anyway all Christians are governed by higher laws even that of showing  love to others, meekness too, humility and purity too… not just whether they can be sued for libel, slander..

Now too often I myself also do not agree with the comments,  free speech, but I merely  tend to disregard it it next..

but what I do rightfully oppose still any and all free speech  especially on the so called Christian Churches Internet sites, that is   lying, slanderous, insulting, abusive, bullying, bashing.. such as the false bash of Pentecostals by the Brethren, Baptists, Reformed, etc., haters. Or the supposedly evangelical Baptist pastor who had said in the pulpit that he could not understand what Hitler did that was so bad, I helped to fire him , he now sells life insurance instead..

( I heard a Muslim recently say the same thing to me, and so I asked him what he thought next if I will post a cartoon with the picture of his so called prophet saying the same thing.. he next quickly got red and objected to it..)

and even here now we all do still have 2 alternatives.. we can post our rebuttal, objections on their Internet site our ours

or next even take the matter  further to the news media, or  before the provincial Human Right Commissions, and others too..

not all justice is handled in the courts of Law or by a lawsuit.

When most a person tries to enforce any rule upon me I immediate rightfully do next often do ask them who they think they are that they think I now have to respect the  man made rules firstly? What makes them think I have to be now their false slave too? And why do they think I am their false slave and that they are any kind of boss over me in these matters?

For  just cause  someone, a lawyer now too even,  some one made up some set of rules it still does  not mean they are all valid, or legitimately  enforceable now too!  I still have even my right of free speech and I still can say what I want, write what I want too.. even about them now too. Not all man made rules, regulations even in writing are rightfully valid still in reality, and just ask any decent judge on the court of the Queen’s judge and he or she can tell you the same thing too.

Here’s great example of bullying Hypocrisy now too. CALGARY – An employee with the Calgary Police Service has been arrested in a drug trafficking operation and a Calgary Policeman was arrested for drunk driving that caused an accident.. I rightfully do see cops mostly as bullies.. not as professionals.

Employee shot and killed a supervisor..

“An employee shot and killed a supervisor and four others after an argument at a western Kentucky plastics plant, then turned the gun on himself, police and a company official said Wednesday.”

And if we delude ourselves to think that we Canadians are not so violent, gun crazy too, yes we too have had our share of revenge killings in Canada, even employers, killing some of some of the bad persons who likely asked for it no matter how tragic basically now their deaths are.

I do not believe in violence, for  me the pen still is really mightier than the sword, and a good reputation is worth more than silver and God.

I can relatedly say that too me the federal public and civil services, cops, RCMP inluded, related commissions  are all mostly or merely a farce,  pretentious  now still  for the most parts from my many past many dealings with them now too. Just do  Log a complaint about misleading advertising, sales and service abuses  by a corporation, or an abuse by your employer,  or about being falsely discriminated, or you being abused on an internet site, or someone  threatening to kill you for being a whistle blower or what ever, etc., and most of the time you will get back in reply rather lies, distortions, falsehoods and no valid actions..  But next that certainly does not stop me from pursing justice.

Now for many years I have done my share of blogging and I encountered too many abusers, bullies, liars on the net in secular and religious sites, some detailed at http://postedat.wordpress.com/, and I rightfully did not put up with them quietly even if they were from Alberta, or anywhere else too.

So if I do next want to rightfully get back against a really abusive, unrepentant person  even now  I merely deal with them in writing eventually telling even to all about his or her actual deeds, acts, reputation, image, and I do this very effectively too. Most persons,  Canadians tend not to support the crooks, the bad guys, the visible losers once publicly exposed still nor should they now too. Nor does the news media generally  next too.  I do thus first clearly write to him and to the others next about him, and I do not shoot him. That might haven been kindlier.  Rather I let the whole world know what he is really like, and what he did,  as I had witnessed it myself, and I cannot be sued  now for slander if I am telling the truth too,  and the lawsuit would even bring more bad publicity on the bad guys still too.

I have seen many persons next in shock, depression, ill even once next fully exposed too.. Church pastors and their wives especially, as well as many Professionals now too.  They had many chances before to stop their wrong doings, to repent already too. But they had  liked to gamble that they can next still get away with it.. and sooner or later that approach backfires, it even makes matters worse. I have even the news media on my speed dial too. So should we all.

Honest public exposure and prosecution of the major guilty persons serves everyone’s best interest..

Prov 24:25 KJV)  But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

(Prov 27:5 KJV)  Open rebuke is better than secret love.

(Eccl 7:5 KJV)  It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

(Rev 3:19 KJV)  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

(Luke 17:3 KJV)  Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.4  And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Hanging Up on Early-Exit Fees

One of the most common Questions I still do get from nay persons is how do I break a contract for breach of services.. https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2008/04/27/basic-contract-law/

“Hanging Up on Early-Exit Fees Regulators and courts are taking aim at early-cancellation penalties charged by carriers such as AT&T, Verizon, and DirecTV

There may be 50 ways to leave your wireless carrier. Just don’t do it before your contract is up—or you’ll be forced to pay a fat early-termination fee. That’s the lot facing most U.S. consumers of communications services, from mobile calling to cable TV to high-speed Internet access.  Consider the subscriber who wants to end a DirecTV (DTV) service contract and has to pay $20 a month for the remainder of the term. Breaking a wireless services contract can cost as much as $175. It’s a big reason why few people switch communications providers. At satellite TV company DirecTV, only 1.42% of customers close their accounts each month. Even Sprint Nextel (S), with one of the highest customer defection rates in the wireless industry, loses a mere 2.45% of its customer base in a month.

A prorated approach? But in a move that could make it easier for customers to drop phone or satellite providers, early termination penalties are coming under new fire from federal regulators, legislators, and courts. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has scheduled a hearing for June 12 to consider potential restrictions on the penalties. And even if the FCC doesn’t act to rein them in, Congress is mulling legislation that would.

Cable and phone companies, which spend hundreds of dollars on advertising and promotions to sign up each new subscriber, fear they’ll have a harder time recouping that investment if the penalties are diminished too far. And exit penalties exist worldwide: European telco Vodafone (VOD) requires subscribers to pay their monthly fees for the duration of wireless contracts, even if they don’t use the phone.
FCC Chairman Kevin Martin has suggested that the commission may require service providers to prorate penalties through the life of a contract, so that the longer a customer stays, the lower the fee. The agency may also require that buyers be allowed to drop a service such as a new cell phone contract without penalty within 30 days of purchase. “Certainly carriers may be able to recover legitimate out-of-pocket expenses and costs,” says FCC spokesman Robert Kenny. “On the other hand, we want to make sure this isn’t being used as an artificial means of locking consumers into a particular service provider.” A ruling to alter the allowed penalty structure could come as early as this fall, says Carol Mattey, a former FCC official who is now a managing director for consultancy Deloitte & Touche.

“Enormous Pressure” Congress, meanwhile, is considering several bills backed by powerful supporters, including Edward Markey (D-Mass.), chairman of the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications & the Internet, and Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-Va.). The measures, proposing conditions for wireless contracts similar to those being considered by the FCC, are already going through revisions in Congressional committees and could be passed in early 2009.  But while the FCC and Congress may impose restrictions, it’s the legal system that threatens to scratch early termination fees altogether. Courthouses from California to New York are flooded with class actions claiming that early termination fees, especially those on wireless contracts, are unfair to consumers. In a landmark ruling on May 27, the Supreme Court refused T-Mobile USA’s request to dismiss one class action based on the cellular company’s contract stipulations that all customer disputes be settled through arbitration. The decision means that all similar suits can proceed—some state courts are expected to decide cases within days—and may open the floodgates to new class actions. “I just see an explosion of lawsuits,” says Mattey. “Every week, every carrier is getting sued. It’s going to create enormous pressure.”

To preempt state court rulings, T-Mobile and Sprint Nextel have already announced they will start reducing early termination fees as the time remaining on a contract declines. Exact details haven’t been disclosed, though the changes are expected to take effect this year. Just two days before the Supreme Court decision, AT&T (T) announced it would reduce its $175 early termination fee by $5 per month through the life of a new contract. That matched a policy implemented last year by Verizon Wireless, which has also introduced a 30-day risk-free service trial and now allows customers to switch calling plans without starting a new contract.

Sprint’s Vulnerability The industry would rather make the changes on its own. “Early termination fees are changing based on consumer demand,” says Joe Farren, spokesperson for CTIA, The Wireless Industry Association, noting that consumers can always opt for pre-paid wireless services that don’t require contractual commitments.

But carriers’ moves may prove too little too late. Lawsuits alone could result in billions of dollars in costs and settlements, and may prompt providers to axe early termination fees altogether. “Pandora’s box is going to open up,” says Jessica Zufolo, senior policy director for telecommunications, media, and technology at Medley Global Advisors.

For an industry that has long used contracts to keep subscribers on board, elimination of termination fees could spell massive changes, such as higher churn and slimmer margins. A satellite TV company typically spends around $700 to recruit a consumer. For wireless companies, the cost of acquiring customers, including marketing and handset subsidies, is closer to $400, and it typically takes more than a year to recoup. Higher rates of switching could be especially nettlesome for Sprint Nextel, which regularly finishes near the bottom of customer satisfaction rankings. “The biggest loser, unfortunately, in this space is Sprint,” says Serge Matta, senior vice-president at ComScore (SCOR).

A Dash of Kindness An industrywide, free 30-day trial period would provide cold comfort to wireless providers. The provision would make it easier for a certain percentage of subscribers to start hopping from one provider to another to get free service. Back when long-distance companies abolished contracts, a material percentage of consumers began switching without paying their last bill, says Rich Nespola, CEO of consultancy TMNG (TMNG).

To keep subscribers, more wireless carriers might follow Verizon Wireless’s lead and begin allowing subscribers to switch to lower-priced plans without having to extend contracts. A recent survey of more than 2,000 users by ComScore showed that 19% of Americans switched to their current carrier for a better price. Carriers may also offer users more free content and other incentives to encourage them to stay. “They’d do sweet things instead of barbs,” says Richard Doherty, director at consultancy Envisioneering Group. But these treats are likely to eat into revenue and margins.

One potential beneficiary of lower termination costs: equipment manufacturers. Today, an average American replaces a cell phone every 17.7 months, vs. every 16.6 months in 2006, according to consultancy J.D. Power. That lengthening replacement cycle spells trouble for handset makers Nokia (NOK), LG, and Motorola (MOT). If early termination fees go away completely, handset sales could jump 25% in the first six months, Doherty estimates.

A downside: To preserve their margins, service providers may not subsidize the equipment as much as they do today. Sure, subsidies are becoming less common, and less of a draw for consumers willing to splash out upwards of $500 for a razzle-dazzle smart phone. But, unable to charge termination penalties, service providers may simply pass the cost to consumers as other fees.

Having your ISP or others instead cancelling your services is easy.. Just continue to post on the net the truth as to what they are like.. and your services won’t be worth anything to them next, they will disconnect you gladly..”

” The ISP suppliers, Canadian corporations  now even such as Bell, or Acanac Inc. http://www.acanac.ca 1-866-281-3538  still are big unacceptable Liars who undeniably too are  clearly  guilty also of misleading, false advertising too now.. Accanac had mentioned on their internet  site that they do not cap their downloads.. but they conveniently had forgot to also say to all of the potential customers on their site that they lease their services from Bell and   that Bell itself  still regularly between 4 pm to 2 am caps their downloads.. when confronted with this they  Acanac Inc do reply  that  they do not cap their downloads but Bell does.. what an absurd misleading play on words. Mind you Acanac headquartered in Toronto did also claims that  they do provide a solution to this Capping software by means of a Putty software but unfortunately this  Acanac Inc approach is unreliable, requires continual monitoring, and is presently   more problems then what it is worth. Acanac’s support services are also non basically existent in fact, or very very inadequate, slow…So why does our pretentious , inadequate Minister of industry, Jim Prentice MP and his   useless consumer affairs department fail over and over again to look after the good interest of the consumers, but looks mainly after Big business good welfare?”
