Healthy eating and healthy living

Too many persons still do falsely still do think they can eat whatever they want, or do what they want personally and next they will not reap any negative Karma, they will not reap what they had sowed. Dream on! Guess why so many people are next sick now too..

In Canada hundreds of thousands of persons do annually die from heart diseases, cancer, diabetes still and why Is that? is it from smoking cigarettes and their  drinking alcohol too much? or what else?

The reality is that most people are still busy even doing their own thing, the professionals, doctors and nurses included now, they themselves do know very little about healthy food, healthy eating, or what basically causes cancer, heart diseases, diabetes. etc…

And too many persons still ignorant do mainly and wrongfully attribute diabetes solely to sugar consumption neglecting many other essential factors as well. The most common nutrition myth is probably that sugar causes diabetes. The main risk factors for Type 2 diabetes are not eating regularly, not eating smaller portions of food more often, or a diet high in calories, being overweight, and an inactive lifestyle. If you have diabetes, you still do need to watch your sugar and carbohydrate intake, with the help of your Registered Dietitian, to properly manage your blood sugar level. Fortunately, the complications of diabetes can be prevented, delayed, or slowed by controlling blood glucose levels to as close to the normal range as possible and this still does involves eating more regularly, and eating more proper foods as well. For all persons even a diabetic skipping meals is a bad disruption. It is important to not skip meals because it disrupts the blood sugar regulation. Some oral diabetes medications (like Metformin a first-line drug of choice for the treatment of type 2 diabetes ) should always also be taken with meals. Since most oral diabetes medications don’t work immediately (like for example a pain medication), but rather they have a cumulative effect to be therapeutic. It has been shown that keeping blood sugars as near to normal as possible helps reduce the long-term complications of diabetes. As a diabetic, you should not skip meals nut should take the oral diabetes medication everyday at approximately the same time. By skipping one’s medications as well, one is not getting the full benefit of them. Not skipping meals allows the body to achieve a steady blood sugar level in the body. For example, if a diabetic skips a meal their blood sugar could drop, which is called hypoglycemia which can lead to more serious medical aspects too..

In reality Canada’s major personal sicknesses, major causes of personal deaths are still mainly related to even the  basics of one’s bad food intake, or to one’s  lack of sleep, or a lack of exercise and even due to taking  bad drugs and one’s alcohol consumption plus also one’s personal failure to reduce or to deal properly with ones inadequate negative personal stresses that we all do too often encounter in real life.

10 Diet & Nutrition Myths Debunked
1 The most common nutrition myth is probably that sugar that mainly causes diabetes, first look elsewhere rather..
2 Myth- All Fats are bad It’s a long-held nutrition myth that all fats are bad. But the fact is, we all need fat.
3 Myth- Brown Sugar is better than White Sugar. The brown sugar sold at grocery stores is actually white granulated sugar with added molasses.
4 Myth- Brown Eggs are more nutritious than White Eggs Contrary to a widely believed nutrition myth, eggshell color has nothing to do with the quality, flavor, nutritive value, cooking characteristics, or shell thickness of an egg
5 Myth- Avoid seafood to lower blood cholesterol In fact, the dietary cholesterol found in seafood and other meats has little effect on blood cholesterol in most people.
6 Myth- Avoid carbohydrate to lose weight or that the carbohydrates promote insulin production
7 Myth- Avoid nuts as they are fattening, but if you can restrain yourself from overeating them, nuts can be a part of a healthy diet.
8 Myth- Eating for 2 is necessary during pregnancy
9 Myth- Skipping meals can help lose weight. The People who think skipping meals means weight loss do not understand how our bodies work.
A better approach is to eat smaller frequent healthy meals and snacks to keep your blood sugar balanced.
10 Myth- Red meat is bad for health. It is true that some studies have linked red meat with increased risk of heart disease, partly due to the saturated fat content. In fact, even chicken can contain as much saturated fat as lean cuts of beef or pork. Instead of excluding red meats, choose leaner cuts of beef and pork. For beef, choose eye of round, top round roast, top sirloin and flank; for pork, choose tenderloin and loin chops.

Myth 11 Brown sugar is healthier over white sugar.. basicaly they are the same.

Here is another sad truth, if you do not want to listen to the common sense, established health facts you can always find a liar who  will support your views but nevertheless you will reap what you sow in your health now still too

In a new report, a large group of American doctors urge kids and  teens to avoid energy drinks and only consume sports drinks in limited  amount. Florida pediatricians described cases of seizures, delusions, heart problems and kidney or liver damage in people who had drunk one or more  non-alcoholic energy drinks — including brands like Red Bull, Spike Shooter and Redline.

While it is true that all people do need to be energetic and not hyperactive, melancholy rather as well but first when we have learned to help ourselves we next can also help others.

Here are some more  important truths related to being healthy

1 Good food and good eating habits will even let you sleep better, and also help you you get a proper night sleep. Too many persons now do suffer as a result of their lack of sleep which affects negatively their health  and bery serioulsy

2 In the real world and in the ideal world your own mother, and not someone else firstly should have taught you how too even eat the proper food, plus as to what food is good and appropriate for you to eat, and even how to properly prepare it. Unfortunately as it is too often the case if your mother is not a good dietician or a great cook and/or she is also very ignorant on the subject so next will the rest of the family unacceptably be as well.

Now also our general education system itself still often fails to deal with the topic of staying healthy, what is good food, on good eating habits as well adequately. Kind of explains why so many doctors, nurses, professionals themselves do not eat the healthy, or proper food.

And we are next left to governments and big corporations, the big money hungry corporations who too often have hidden agendas and as a result they do present half or distorted truth, health facts and do not tell is all that we personally do need to know.

Ezek 34:4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them. 5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

3 Too many persons also do fail to understand, fail to realize the importance of a proper, adequately working food digestion system now as well. They firstly do fail to realize the importance of basic water consumptions in helping all of our food intake to digest and they do not drink enough water, or wrongfully consume caffeine, alcohol that causes more dehydration even, as well which leads to both digestion and heart, cancer problems often too. Knowing how your digestive system is supposed to work will help you.

Even before you eat, when you smell a tasty food, see it, or think about it, digestion begins. Saliva (say: suh-lye-vuh), or spit, begins to form in your mouth. Your digestive system started working even before you took the first bite of your food. And the digestive system will be busy at work on your chewed-up lfood  for the next few hours — or sometimes days, depending upon what you’ve eaten. This process, called digestion, allows your body to get the nutrients and energy it needs from the food you eat. So let’s find out what’s happening to that pizza, orange, and milk. When you do eat, the saliva breaks down the chemicals in the food a bit, which helps make the food mushy and easy to swallow.

Now also next we have to understand what products do cause dehydration, such as coffee, alcohol, the products that do affect the stomach juices and one’s ability to properly digest foods and rather which can have a very negative effect on our heart, health.

4 Now add to this the fact that too many people fail to understand what is that it leads to one having diabetes next as well.. and the issue is not just your sugar consumptions. I am shocked as to how ignorant people are when it comes to the aspect of sugar consumption and how overboard they do also go..

Most People also do still fail to see  also still that salt is bad for you since it retains water in the blood  and increases one’s heart stress as a direct result.

5 Next we relatedly too often have the religious inclined discussions, and a lack of understanding on the danger or benefit of fat, meat, good and bad cholesterol.. or vegetarians versus non vegetarians. Here is the reality skinny persons too often die as much as fat people due to the major sicknesses too.. You need fats to survive and be healthy, but you need to choose the right ones.

There are also both good and bad fats and good and bad sugars. Also Sugar alone does not lead to diabetes, but rather one’s poor eating habits, eating meals irregularly or skipping them ..

Fat vs. Sugar – Which Is Worse?

The website for the McKinley Health Center at the University of Illinois states that fat is crucial for “normal growth and development, energy, absorbing certain vitamins, and maintaining cell membranes.” The United States Department of Agriculture now recommends that fat make up 20 percent to 35 percent of daily calorie intake, and some nutritionists encourage an even higher percentage of fat consumption. Heather Fleming, a nutrition consultant for Conscious Nutrition, recommends two servings of healthy fat per meal, for a total of six servings per day. Ms. Fleming says that healthy fats are essential and are like “oil for the body…Our cells are made of phospholipids, and that’s where the healthy fats…go to reenergize the cells.”

Still we all do need to deal personally with all these aspects and to get, have a proper understanding here now still as well and not just absurdly say Any fat or Sugar Is Ruining Your Health or say that one can eat whatever one wants.

also do see my health blog for more info.. or

.. get a healthy life and not a sick one.

Three of the clearly sad aspects of Medicare, medical care in Canada too often are that
1: Too many of the sick patients have spend a lifetime getting sick and they seem next to want an immediate instant, permanent cure, even without any effort, work , inconvenience, pain or fuss on their own parts. Here they do too often unrealistically expect rather the pretentious ambulance doctor to even come to their home and find, and next to deliver an instant medical cure for their major ailment.
2: Also they do all mostly fail to realize that the family doctor he or she cannot basically help them when they develop a major sickness, in the 20 minutes allotted to him or her every 3 months for he or she firstly basically cannot realistically help the patient, they thus really cannot discover their major sickness for he or she does not have the time, resources to do so. Hiring more nurses receptionists helps nothing here
3: Only the overcrowded already major hospitals have the staff, resources, equipment to help people who have a serious sickness and they tend to have their own schedules, priorities. They work weekdays 9-4 only.

And Fourthly even the generally over priced price gouging, often not fully medically competent pharmacist, pharmacies, and the dermatologist included are basically no help in what they recommend, prescribe if you have a major illness to.. for example a major unknown foot disease..

Now with Canada rapidly aging seniors population medical care will certainly only get worse based on how pretentions and our still mostly useless our health ministers, politicians too tend to ne in all this too.
Canada is already known for having bad pretentious civil and public servants that do not care about others good health too.

PS: Doctors are not Gods.  Even the good Doctors are not Gods, they do not  know it all, some are rather still stupid when it comes to effectively  helping  a sick person. The professional quality of a medical doctors lies not just in his university and clinical training but it also lies in the degree of his or her  actual  field experience and   being kept updated with the medical advancements. Kinda of explains while some doctors have not been initially able to  help me with my severe medical problems and thus they have too often wrongfully forced me to seek the expertise of many other doctors next too. Doctors are not Gods, some rather are still  very bad sinners who do for billing purposes now  lie and pretend that they are good doctors still too. Self regulation of the bad doctors too often is still mere masturbations. We need an enforced  federal Bill that will tighten the  regulation of doctors and clarify the obligations of the medical and law-enforcement communities to report, communicate, act upon all of the suspected physician misconduct and patient neglect,  abuse.

Most Canadians get uneven, inadequate diabetes test, care

Millions of persons have diabetes, and many of them people do not even know it.. diabetes is not to be taken lightly for it has serious personal side effects. Diabetes is influenced by genes, and the food we eat, lack of exercise as well. You cannot but help to notice how many people are grossly overweight at a diabetes clinic now too
The number of Canadians   with diabetes will rise dramatically over the next decade..  By 2020, there will be 3.7 million Canadians with diabetes, up from 2.5 million today, and from 1.3 million a decade ago, according to projections prepared by Robin Somerville of the Centre for Spatial Economics in Milton, Ont. The numbers are soaring because of Canada’s changing ethnic makeup (diabetes rates vary by ethnicity), the population is aging (the risk of diabetes increases with age) and due to poor health habits of Canadians (obesity and inactivity raise the risk). The report stresses that while some of those factors cannot be altered, the key is catching diabetes early so it can be controlled and so that harmful, expensive complications can be averted. “If you don’t have coverage, it’s really, really costly.” Starting at 100 per month for diabetes test strips and medication. And diabetes is a precursor to many other severe illnesses. It is a major cause of cardiovascular disease, and the leading cause of kidney disease, blindness and amputation   “About 50 per cent of diabetes complications can be prevented . One of the most important measures,  is regular screening. Diabetes can be detected with a simple test for blood glucose.    About 90 per cent of diabetics have Type 2, which is usually a consequence of obesity, inactivity, poor diet and aging. Diabetes is also strongly associated with poverty. Members of some ethnic groups – notably Southeast Asians, Asians and Hispanics – have much higher rates of diabetes, particularly when they immigrate to countries like Canada and adopt a Western lifestyle. Aboriginal people also have much higher diabetes rates. So do black people

Since the discovery of insulin in 1921, managing diabetes has become more effective than ever. Today, with care, most diabetics can lead productive lives.
Normally, your body changes sugars and starch into glucose (a simple sugar), which serves as fuel. When diabetes develops, the amount of glucose in the blood may become dangerously high because insulin (the substance that controls glucose levels) is in short supply. Diabetics either don’t produce enough insulin or their bodies don’t respond to the insulin as they should; that’s why they have to take insulin by injection or another medication by mouth to help the body secrete more of its own insulin.
To help you recognize the warning signs of diabetes, the American Diabetes Association uses the acronyms DIABETES and CAUTION.
D rowsiness
I tching
A family history of diabetes
B lurred vision
E xcessive weight
T ingling, numbness, or pain in extremities
E asy fatigue
S kin infection, slow healing of cuts and scratches, especially on the feet
Other signs are:
C onstant urination
A bnormal thirst
U nusual hunger
T he rapid loss of weight
I rritability
O bvious weakness and fatigue
N ausea and vomiting
The important explanation of one being diabetic is the reality that either the body doesn’t produce enough insulin or else it can’t employ the actual insulin in an appropriate way. The transformation of glucose into strength in the body is performed through insulin. The key conditions that can result in diabetes are short of activity, fatness, aging, improper diet and, most importantly, heredity. Weariness is the trait of diabetes for the reason that the body doesn’t attain required energy. Eyes is impaired, urination is repeated and need for water gets Unquenchable resulting from it. You are receptive to persistent contagion for example urinary tract diseases, colds and influenza if you are diabetic. Diabetes has further hint moreover like prickling or burning sensitiveness in the hands together with foot. Majority of the time diabetes goes overlooked for these traits look simple. At the time you observe any of the above declared indications get your glucose amount measured. The everlastingness of this health problem demands you perform this way. To correct diabetes  you as well have to make use of perfect diet table and lifestyle changes to make your glucose levels under regulation.
You don’t necessarily have to experience all of these warning signs to be diabetic; only one or two may be present. Some people show no warning signs whatsoever and find out they’re diabetic after a routine blood test. So if you have a family history of diabetes, you should be especially watchful of the signs and symptoms mentioned before. If you notice any of those signs report them to your doctor. Being overweight increases your risk significantly. A diet high in sugar and low in fiber may increase your risk as well. Pregnancy can trigger diabetes in some women.
There are two forms of diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes is more severe and usually shows up before the age of 40. Insulin injections as well as dietary control and excercise are essential.
Type 2 diabetes is less severe and affects people who are older and overweight. This type is most often treated with diet and exercise and sometimes oral medicine. Occasional insulin injections may be required as well.
Like a hurricane with its heavy rains, hail, lightening and high winds is preceded by”calm before the storm,” type 2 diabetes is preceded by a condition known as pre-diabetes. With no usual symptoms and very little hint of what a type 2 diagnosis may mean, many fail to take heed and ignore important warning signs of diabetes. “By the time a patient actually is diagnosed as having diabetes, so much damage can be already done,” The people with pre-diabetes can prevent the development of type 2 diabetes by up to 58 percent through modest lifestyle changes. Those changes, according to the experts, include recommendations to reduce weight by five to 10 percent and perform modest physical activity 30 minutes daily. In a very real sense,
“The individuals with pre-diabetes have a one and one-half fold increased risk of cardiovascular disease as compared to people with normal blood glucose and that individuals with diabetes have a two to four-fold increased cardiovascular risk. Some 60 to 65 percent of those with type 2 diabetes succumb to cardiovascular disease. “
Pre-diabetes is a serious metabolic condition that can reek havoc and do major damage long before the blood sugar (glucose) is elevated enough to diagnose overt type 2 diabetes.  Thus many persons already have complications  involving their heart, brain and extremity arteries—-even before they know officially that they have diabetes.
Pre-diabetes is a term used to distinguish those at increased risk for developing diabetes. Those with pre-diabetes have impaired fasting glucose (IFG) levels between 100 and 125 mg/dL and/or impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) between 140 and 199 milligrams per deciliter or mg/dL. Progression to diabetes is not inevitable, as studies show minor lifestyle changes in diet and exercise can prevent or delay diabetes and may return blood glucose levels to normal.
Not all Canadians with diabetes are receiving recommended tests: study (CP) –  TORONTO – A variety of routine clinical tests should be the norm for Canadians who are living with diabetes, but a new study indicates not everyone is getting these tests and checkups by their health-care providers. All four specific recommended clinical tests are being done for fewer than one-third of patients, says the research released Thursday by the Canadian Institute for Health Information. “It’s a wake-up call,” says Dr. Alan Katz, research director in the department of family medicine at the University of Manitoba. “It’s pointing out that we’re not doing a good enough job for our diabetic patients. And it challenges us as physicians and health system planners and decision-makers to say ‘how can we improve this?”‘ he said in an interview from Winnipeg. Greg Webster, director of primary health-care information at CIHI, said better control of diabetes can help prevent serious health complications and prolong life for people with the disease. “These tests can provide signals to the patients and their health-care providers in terms of the need for intervention to better manage their condition,” he said. “And that’s important because if they don’t do that, they’re at much greater risk of developing complications such as blindness, lower limb amputations, kidney failure and heart disease.”
The study is mostly based on 2007 data from Statistics Canada’s Canadian Community Health Survey, but CIHI provided funding to ensure that all provinces would be included in the analysis. The figures show that 81 per cent of Canadians with diabetes received a hemoglobin A1c test in the previous year. The test is used to measure blood glucose levels over a period of time. Seventy-four per cent had received a urine protein test to measure kidney function in the year prior to the survey, and 51 per cent had their feet checked for sores or irritations. And 66 per cent had received a dilated eye exam in the two-year period prior to the data being collected. But overall, only 32 per cent of diabetics surveyed had all four clinical tests in the recommended period of time. Those who used insulin were more likely to have had all four tests..”
The prevalence of diabetes was highest among adults with a household income of less than $20,000, at eight per cent, and lower among adults with incomes of $60,000 and over, at four per cent, the report said.
People with higher household incomes were more likely to receive the four clinical tests. Katz said people living in poverty often struggle to attend appointments and keep to their diets.
Webster said British Columbia and Saskatchewan had the highest rates for people getting all four tests, at about 40 per cent. Newfoundland and Labrador was below the average, at just over 20 per cent, he said.
The report says 5.1 per cent of Canadians 12 and over reported a diagnosis of diabetes in 2007. More than two million Canadians have the disease, and the number is expected to grow as the population ages, Webster said.
In Canada, over two million Canadians have confirmed diabetes and that number is expected to reach three million by 2010. Based on a U.S. study, a North American child born in 2000 stands a one in three chance of being diagnosed with diabetes in his or her lifetime. In Canada,
I was talking to a clearly over weight  McGill medical doctor this week, who loves good food, and  who was dangerously skipping meals  and who did not know the reasons for the likely causes of diabetes. I had to tellhim the facts. Many Professionals even are unaware of this need until they get it.  I am always amazed that many professionals even not just the seniors have not yet learned about eating properly as well. Most people do not know still how to eat healthy, which foods are good and which ones are bad for you, nor do they know that cancer, diabetes, heart attacks, diabetes is caused mainly by what you eat..  Secondly unresolved Stress, lack of physical exercise as well leads to more heart problems.. and it seems that unresolved heart problems will also lead to diabetes too..
If you have been diagnosed with diabetes and just aren’t sure of what you should and should not be eating, it’s time you found out!
Get your doctor’s recommendation of a diabetes educator or dietician specializing in diabetes who you can go to see. Many hospitals hold classes to help diabetics make the right food choices since that is so critical to the management of diabetes. While these classes may be intended for those newly diagnosed with diabetes, they will provide useful information for all diabetics.
Heart problems and Diabetes, Cancer seem to be partially related as well.. by our personally bad eating habits, meaning eating food that is hard to digest as well.. Most people do need to have a better discipline for what they are eating.. and when too. Too many people still are consumers of too much sugar, and using rather artificial sweeteners, and eating regularly is a good advice here too.   Most people also do not even know how to eat proper foods, even professionals included.. thus next a lot of people do have related health problems..
Let’s first be fair to ourselves and others and note that no one thing specifically causes all the cancers, diabetic sick persons, heart problems in the world, rather it is a combination of several different factors starting with our personal ignorance, and the false neglect of the our Bodies.
While clearly the medical advances against even the more serious sickness have taken gigantic leaps now these days, I sadly too often these  days have to tell the truth to the sick persons that next the patients themselves are now more often to blame for their sudden deaths,  their illness degenerating mostly too even by reaping what they sowed, by their own neglect of basic laws reaping relating to the to human anatomy too, a) by their own failure to insure  healthy eating, b) their own  failure to get  proper sleep, c) and their own failure to handle, resolve unbeneficial stress adequately.
Majority of patients still lie to themselves when they do now falsely think they will not reap what they have personally sowed and thus they are committing personal suicide as a result. Lack of sleep is still a killer.. so is not eating properly.. so is unresolved stress….
Approximately 80% of people with diabetes will die as a result of heart disease or stroke. People with heart problems tend to have diabetes problem eventually and vice versa too..

To date there is no proven way to prevent type 1 diabetes. The onset of type 2 diabetes may be prevented or delayed, through increased physical activity, healthy eating and weight loss. Taking these steps now can lead to a healthier future. In a large study, people at risk of type 2 diabetes were able to reduce their risk by 58% by exercising moderately for 30 minutes a day and by losing 5 to 7% of their body weight. In people age 60 and older, the risk was cut by almost 71%. Other large studies have shown similar results in reducing risk.
Many weight loss products like pills, herbs and some private clinics fail to deliver on their promises and governments should be regulating scientifically unproven therapies, obesity doctors say. I said the same thing in writing to the federal government, health ministers the last 2 decades too.
I know for a fact that both the internet and non doctors were unable to help me with my medical conditions many times.. it took real doctors and real diagnostic equipment rather In reality even Ten Nurses cannot replace a decent doctor, never mind the health food quacks, liars now as well… nor can the internet if you are serious ill.. I had 4 separate major illness that no one was able to diagnose without a real, proper medical test. A friend of mine who ran a health food store totally misdiagnosed my ailments as well to prescribe tonnes of expensive unneeded products.. nurses at  the emergency clinics were unable  to diagnose my problems as well.. My problems included gland problems, diabetes, blocked arteries, kidney stones.
In addition to a doctor the second best thing I discovered was a dietician.. Many Hospital delays are unessential, they are mere bureaucratic ploys, blackmail to get more money, raises, funding.. they are still very poorly managed. The Health Council now claims that contrary to popular belief, aging and population growth are not the major causes of increased health care spending. Instead, Canadians are using the system more than ever. PART OF THE REASONS IS THAT THE TOO OFTEN CHARGE CARD HAPPY DOCTORS ARE NOT DOING IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.. when many patients have to have repeat visits even visits to other doctors to get a second opinion this clearly show we can we improve the system without cutbacks or service reductions.
Just cause a Doctor has a medicinal degree it still even does not mean all doctors are similarly competent now as well. “We can account for how money is spent, but not, in any precise way, for what it achieves,” We must figure out a way to make our money go further without compromising the quality of care Canadians have come to expect and need. To do that we for sure do need to have better Hospital, medical supervisors for a start.
About the political Health Council of Canada. It was created by the 2003 First Ministers’ Accord on Health Care Renewal, The Health Council of Canada is mandated to monitor and report on the progress of health care renewal in Canada. The Councillors were appointed by the participating provinces, territories and the Government of Canada which does not honestly disclose it’s full agenda..
Sadly most peopled do not realize the main causes of Heart attacks, diabetes, cancers. You can start by looking at the type of food you eat. I made a study for years of the reasons many people get heart attacks .. it is often a family disease, meaning related family bad habits.. such as the lack of physical exercise, how one handles the stressful situations, how well you sleep included.. and the type of food eaten and how it is prepared… steamed food and plenty of vegetables are advisable and often thus too.. and also don’t forget about the teeth and gum diseases.. The quality of sleep is more important than the Quantity too. Heart stress and food digestion are also related, related even to cancer, having heart attacks now as well and so is gum diseases.. Jesus will do his part, heal us after we do our part first. Call upon Him for help firstly.
PS Unhappily married women are more likely than unhappily married men to suffer high blood pressure, obesity and high blood sugar, putting them at greater risk for heart disease, stroke and diabetes, say U.S. researchers.
While both genders are just as likely to feel depressed in strained marriages, the similarity appears to end there. And yet next many women foolishly still do think a quick divorce will bring them next riches and happiness next, and significantly more women file for a divorce over men, but it almost all of the cases does not go the way they had expected it to go and in many ways.. they next rather cannot overcome Karma, the fact that they are reaping what they themselves had sowed, for they had initially made a bad choice of a mate firstly, or were too lazy, and/or had an unrealistic expectation of what marriage was, is. Marriage it is not just living together, sex.. but a lot of hard work for both now too. Blaming others mainly over personal accountability is the typical crook’s way.

Diabetes is a very serious, life changing disease can be very simply treat in most cases but most doctors do not do the necessary test of all of their patients, not even a simple blood sugar level test.
People need to take control of their health rather than outsource it solely to the experts. The emphasis ought to be PREVENTION first, and treatment. Eat less and exercise more. The problem with diabetes, and some other disorders is that patients want the doctor to make them better, but are not prepared to do anything themselves. Many people with cardiovascular disease think that taking aspirin and a satin is all they need to do, while many will continue their old life, bad habits too even after a heart attack or stroke. Dream on.

KARMA MAY NOT HIT YOU RIGHT AWAY BUT IT LIKLEY WILL EVENTUALLY. When you are young you may falsely tend to act like an ostrich, falsely believe you can do, eat  anything, anyway you want and it will not affect you, but as you get older the body does start  to pay the price for the younger days abuses, neglect still. There is another correlation that is undeniable in seniors that many of  persons who do  tend to have diabetes tend also next to have heart problems or vice versa, and not just some of these persons also becoming lactose intolerant.  Diabetes while it is partially hereditary it is certainly brought on by inappropriate sugar consumption, and also by one not eating meals regularly, rather even ill advisably skipping meals. Heart problems and Diabetes as well itself are not without any negative consequences.  Denial will not change the facts or consequences too. On ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, Vital body  part once damaged can never be fully restored to their healthy original state too.

The unlawful use of taxpayer’s money.

A good election issue for the Opposition.
Ex-Alberta MP Jaffer’s drug, Impaired driving  charges dropped..
The main rightful speculation today is that our new Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his cabinet, colleagues already are doing it, and will continue use taxpayer’s money to promote their own reelection and that of their party members, which brings me to my basic rightful complaint, that our elected representatives they all should stop using the tax payers resources, their staff, their offices to promote themselves, to have a good time for themselves too,  and now really start to offer real, decent governmental helps,  services to all Canadians solely. Really!
Ignatieff won’t bend on $3-billion ‘slush fund’ despite election threat  CP OTTAWA — Michael Ignatieff says he won’t give the government a blank cheque to spend $3 billion to stimulate the flagging economy, even though his refusal could plunge the country into an election.  The Liberal leader says he will not support creation of a special immediate-stimulus fund unless Prime Minister Stephen Harper agrees to provide some accountability for how the money is spent. Harper has warned that the special fund is a matter of confidence and opposition parties will find themselves in an election if they won’t support it. But Ignatieff dismisses such threats as “junk” and says Harper must talk to Liberals and work out some resolution to the matter rather than drive Parliament “off the cliff” as he nearly did last fall. Opposition parties were surprised last week to find provision for the special $3-billion fund in a spending estimates bill.

Last week, Harper warned that opposition refusal to approve creation of the fund would constitute defeat of his minority government. “These are confidence measures. We are not messing around with this,” the prime minister said. “If the opposition doesn’t like it, they will find themselves in an election.”  Ignatieff scoffed at Harper’s threat, calling his sudden return to “aggressive partisanship” in the midst of an economic crisis “ridiculous.”  Ignatieff reminded Harper that his ruthless partisanship nearly “drove this Parliament off the cliff” last December, when the three opposition parties forged an agreement to replace the government with a coalition. The prime minister staved off certain defeat only by suspending Parliament.  “We’re now in an economic crisis in which he’s got to walk back down the hill and talk to me. I am not writing a blank cheque on $3 billion. No Canadian would respect me if I did,” Ignatieff said.

The Canadian Press   OTTAWA – Contrary to earlier claims, the subject of Listeria was broached by federal officials and Maple Leaf Foods prior to a deadly outbreak last summer that was linked to tainted meat products, documents show.  Handwritten notes from a July 24, 2008, meeting indicate officials from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Maple Leaf discussed “food safety in relation to Listeria,” although no details about the substance of the talks were available.  The discussion took place roughly two weeks before tests linked the company’s luncheon meats to the outbreak.  Both sides had previously denied that the subject of Listeria came up at the meeting. On Tuesday, they acknowledged that it did come up, but said earlier denials were made in reference to discussion of the listeriosis outbreak itself.  Initially, they said CFIA executive vice-president Brian Evans and Maple Leaf executive Rory McAlpine discussed only the company’s hog and pork operations and trade issues.  But notes from the July meeting, obtained by The Canadian Press under the Access to Information Act, show that while Evans and McAlpine did talk about hog and pork operations, they also discussed “food safety in relation to Listeria.”  Further information is blanked out in the documents released by the CFIA.

Carney Considers Steps as Depth of Canada Slump Defies Forecast  The Bank of Canada’s decision to cut interest rates to almost zero and consider extraordinary steps to boost credit raises new concerns that the country’s recession won’t be as mild and short as policy makers predicted.  Governor Mark Carney yesterday lowered the rate on overnight loans between commercial banks to 0.5 percent from 1 percent and said he may reduce it again. “Carney and his team admitted that the recession in Canada and elsewhere is worse than they were predicting just a month ago,”

Once really falsely proud Alberta is a state of sufferings now.. …
Booze, gambling revenues was  worth more than gas royalties even to the Stelmach government   PM Stephen Harper’s province…
Prime Minister Stephen Harper has shut down the House of Commons repeatedly, jammed dozens of pieces of legislation into a few massive take-it-or-leave-it omnibus bills, fired public watchdogs, refused to allow parliamentarians to scrutinize government spending, withheld public information, gagged federal scientists and replaced Canada’s detailed census with an unreliable household survey. Under Harper, Ottawa has become increasingly opaque, inaccessible and unaccountable.  With the Oil price bottom dropping out the supposed  masterful economic manager, with  his skewed self-image and his unwillingness to adjust to events stifle any one  feeling sympathy for Harper outside Alberta.  Under Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s  harsh leadership style  the price of oil has  dropped by 57 per cent since last June,  hydraulic fracking has  become commercially viable in the U.S undercutting the demand for Canadian oil and gas, and  nine years after Prime Minister Stephen Harper took power Alberta’s liquid gold, Tar Sands is  landlocked. Pipeline building  in Canada has become  a major problem . Harper falsely showed overt favouritism toward Alberta. His government subsidized the oilsands while dismissing Ontario’s efforts to develop green energy. He treated central Canada’s manufacturing woes as an unfortunate, but unpreventable, byproduct of globalization. His ministers hunted down employment insurance recipients in the job-scarce Maritimes to ensure they were actively looking for work. He changed Canada’s equalization formula when Ontario became a have-not province. he chose his style of leadership. He picked his tactics. He assumed the goodwill of the people was expendable
” Alberta’s oilsands produce more greenhouse gas emissions than some European countries right now and will produce more than all of the world’s volcanoes in just 11 years if the pace of development continues, a new report says.  People will post 1001 excuses justifying this disaster.  until it is too late to do anything about it.. Remember Chernobyl”

SADLY ECONOMICS DO CONTROL THE VIABILITY OF CANADA’S OIL SANDS PROJECTS.  Economics alone   SHOULD NOT now  control the direct oil sand extraction  process, engineering as well and also now not all firms are equally environmentally conscious, concerned so they all do now need to be better managed here, something that has falsely not been adequately done for sure so far.. and yes neither by the provincial or the federal governments HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB HERE. GREED AND PROFIT CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO OVER RULE SAFETY,  THE ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES, etc.,

Do see

In their false pride they have done many stupid things in Alberta, the leaders now as well.. they despised the poor people, they abuse the ordinary citizens too.. they lied, slandered others… so it should come as no surprise they too are now reaping what they sow.. facing an unexpected big recession.. many still lie as to how long this recesion will last too..
Anyone who thinks he has a free will, a free choice even to do wrong is stupid if he also believes he or she will not reap what they sow.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7

EDMONTON – Once the golden goose of the Canadian economy, Alberta is now shedding jobs like feathers, Albertans were hit last week with new Statistics Canada numbers that revealed the province lost 5,700 jobs in January and another 23,700 in February, most of them in the resource sector. THE HIGH COST OF LIVING STILL MAKES ALBERT AN UNDESIRABLE PLACE TO GO TO.
The saddest thing with all those continual lies and spins of thus a mostly crooked past leaders in  in Alberta the last 50 years is that Alberta still is and always will be a one horse town.. mainly centered on oil.. and the very same incompetents have never ever been able to effectively diversify to other industries, products even cause the population base is still too small, and the cost of electricity is too high.. that all makes Alberta just a nice place to visit.
I REMEMBER WHEN MANY ARROGANT ALBERTANS, POLITICIANS  USED TO FALSELY BOAST ON THE NET ABOUT THEIR PROSPERITY.. and I would reply they need to be really now more considerate of the poor people and the rest of Canada for they too will ONE DAY  be on social aid, EVEN asking other Canadians to help them.. it is funny how reality  comes to pass with time even in Alberta.
THE ALBERTA NEWS MEDIA AND THE GOVERNMENTS OF ALBERTA DO NOT LIKE TO DISCLOSE THE REALITY OF THE MANY HIDDEN TAXES, HIDDEN EXTRA COSTS  IN ALBERTA. Yes you do not pay any provincial taxes there.. but that is where the economic benefit of living there stops.. the costs of land, homes, apartments, food, ELECTRICTY, maintenace, services, education etc., are much higher than in Quebec for a start but the  average salaries in Alberta generally are not any signifcantly higher,  OR ADEQUATE TO PAY THE EXTRA COSTS..
38 years, and running, in power (with barely ever having to worry about so much as a bad dream of losing power to another party to force them to moderate their “vision” and be pragmatic) and the PCs still haven’t managed to develop enough economic durability to weather a recession better than the “have-not” provinces. Have enough of the blind voters yet realized that this gang of inept twits needs to be thrown out of office with their insane pandering to big business in favour of a government that actually believes in, and delivers, some leadership and governance in favour of the actual people of the province, and provides effective public services for them as well?

Subject: Speed-on-green cameras in Calgary, Edmonton today – all getting to be really ludicrous, absurd..
It’s all very simple: obey the laws.  You broke the law, accept the consequences, and if that hypocritical, absurd, extreme statement was the reality, the truth, everyone would next be in jail, all of the politicians, civil and public servants, cops firstly..“We’re all for anything that can reduce the amount and severity of car crashes,”  and next will increase the amount of revenue to the insurance companies, after all each traffic  ticket helps to raise their insurance costs..  to make the insurance companies richer and their shareholders, but we may get a severe backlash when the citizens car  insurance rates rise dramatically next though. This is also still simply not acceptable. There is a direct link between DRIVING and collisions. The MORE you drive, the more likely you are to be involved in a collision and the more likely you are to get seriously hurt . So the police will now give tickets to all drivers .The police TRAFFIC program brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars but the police, city runs the program as revenue neutral. Profits are put back into more supposedly good  traffic safety initiatives,  but mainly into the police  empire building, so it really IS NOT THE CITIZENS GOOD WELFARE THEY FIRSTLY DO ALL CARE ABOUT.

Now in 2008, according to police statistics, there were 3,019 injury accidents in Calgary and 38 traffic fatalities.

And why is it also no one will answer the question? How many people are now are actually injured due to speeding over how many persons now are injured due to drunk drivers? 15 percent are injured due to speeding? and 45 percent due to drunk drivers? so how much resources are proportional giving by the police overall  to catching drunk drivers over the car speeders? proportionally?

The intersection cameras are being applauded by Alberta Health Services because “there is no doubt that collisions impact our health services,” said Nancy Staniland, manager of Injury Prevention & Control Services for Alberta Health.

“This is not only an obvious cash grab but they are putting our safety at risk to increase their revenues. For it is a known fact that the City of Calgary had  shortened the amount of time lights stay at yellow when they brought in red light cameras. In many cases you have no choice but to floor it to beat a red light. But now your choice will be between speeding up to avoid going through a red light or getting rear ended. If you get rear ended there’s a good chance you get end up with whiplash. Really makes you wonder just how far those in power will go to rob us.”

“As Alberta grows, drivers are causing more problems, he said: “A lot of people are impatient, there’s road rage like never before, an increase of vehicles on our roadways, With booming populations, there’s an increase in collisions.” wow those are smart observations, such as traffic tickets are good cash cows too,

and what all the people who speed are guilty of road rage? or is there a separate ticket being issued to road ragers? just as there is to drunk drivers?

“This is simply not acceptable. There is a direct link between speed and collisions. The faster you drive, the more likely you are to be involved in a collision and the more likely you are to get seriously hurt,” said Staff Sgt. Brett Marklund of the traffic section.

“In my perfect world, we are out of work. We’re not going to 80 or 90 injury collisions a year. We’re not investigating 30 or 40 fatalities a year, I’m not seeing thousands of (cases of) impaired driving a year. What we’re seeing is people driving safely and my guys writing zero tickets,”said Marklund.

A lot of our intersection crashes are related to speed. There’s in-deed a problem here at some locations, and now we can address both,” said acting Sgt. Aubrey Zalaski of Edmonton’s specialized traffic unit. The police can get promoted for getting more cash, giving out more tickets too.. self serving or really serving the public interest?

So why are Calgary drivers such chronic lead-foots? or is the question why is it the Calgary city fathers are so money hungry? The  police services are  implementing the   speed cameras as a way of adding to their coffers..

In busy Toronto, police say  Drunk driving and careless turning are the main culprits for serious accidents in intersections and red light cameras are not used because of the fear of public backlash..

‘Speed on green’ cameras linked to rear-end crashes.  Arizona cities, one of the first cities to bring in such technology says the cameras decrease speeding and dangerous collisions, but can increase the number of rear-end crashes. But of course the money hungry police of Calgary had denied this.

ANOTHER CASH GRAB.. The Calgary Parking Authority is expanding its hold on the inner city by starting to charge for parking on more than 20 blocks of the Beltline.

Anyone who thinks the cops here are being honest, serving the public is a fool..

Here is what I found amazing and worth while examining now  in much more detail.. insurance companies in Canada do not mind gouging Canadian consumers in their greed to make more profits..  and we all know that accumulating speeding , traffic infractions, will cause your car insurance costs to go up significantly…   and yet here is what I find surprising, neither the insurance companies, the provincial government, nor the federal government, the police have real, valid detailed statistics on the causes of traffic accidents: such as how many were caused my alcoholic drivers, how many were caused by speeding, how many were caused by poor road conditions, lousy snow clearing as well, etc not even in Ontario, Alberta, Quebec, BC as well.. …. so what do the insurance companies do with all the extra money they collect, certainly they of all persons should have firstly the best statistics on traffic accidents now in the first place, or how do they determine their rates??? Even Canada’s police chiefs have to rely on accident statistics from other countries, such as Australia, Great Britain, the US..

No  matter how that dirty RCMP weasel spins the facts, tries to weasel out of the truth, the RCMP was clearly wrong on many counts in the Taser death of a polish immigrant at the Vancouver airport.. they were uncompassionate, inconsiderate, used more restraining force than was necessary, and they next also clearly lied to cover-up their own immoral acts, and many times as well, They slander a good man in the process as well.. and so none of this was, is acceptable or forgivable.. none  of it.

The Exemplary Public exposure and prosecution of the unrepentant  guilty persons serves everyone’s best interest

So still now  what really is needed  firstly is not more CHEAP, PRETENTIOUS  self regulations,   the supposed discipline of their members , or even their ensuring their education, but real INSPECTIONS, EFFECTIVENESS , competency testing.

For it is a fact that anything that will put a self regulating body or a Ministry into a negative light will have a built in  tendency still to be denied,   suppressed, minimized in reality, to be ineffective .

There in reality is the main  one important step that all consumers can take to protect themselves from any unscrupulous persons  and that is enforced, exemplary public exposure and prosecution of the supposedly guilty persons by a recognized judicial public body,  and so now how many such bad persons now have really been exposed, prosecuted in the last few years in reality too by the responsible Ministers as well?  None? and why not?
Exemplary Public exposure and prosecution of the guilty serves very ones best interest… too often still missing in the PROFESSIONAL BODIES, EVEN IN THE RCMP, police   forces, churches, ALL GOVERNMENTS  as well it seems too.

Still   “about the DRUNKS, LIARS, THIEVES, ABUSERS, bullies, thugs, proud oppressors, war mongers “

First you merely ask the guilty, bad persons personally to repent twice, the first time without a witness, the second time with witnesses THAT you have asked them to repent.. and   proof, substantiation is NOT required.. after you have done that you can next post it openly on the net, tell all the others.
Next God is fully free to deal with the unrepentant guilty offenders and believe me he will.. I have now been doing for decades too..I SIMPLY SEND AN EMAIL, I PUT IT INTO CLEARLY WRITING, SO THE GUILTY PARTY CANNOT SAY I DID NOT ASK HIM OR HER TO REPENT.

We ALSO do  still need to understand, define what UNACCEPTABLE abuse and what UNACCEPTABLE hate is, and unacceptable abuse is to  deny a person’s legal, human rights, and hate is the clear opposite of love, meaning an unloving act.. Hate and  Verbal abuse unrestrained often next do lead to physical abuse in reality too.  And both hate and verbal, physical abuses are  all unacceptable at all times too no matter who you are or who you think you are too. .
but honestly critiquing  NOW certain individuals for their own unacceptable bad act is not always HATE. .
It is a false statement that if one makes any negative statement about anyone, Jews, Muslims, Arabs, white or black, Asian people, natives , etc., that one is  a racist or promoting hatred.. maybe one is merely exercising one’s appropriate right of free speech, thought..
Now I had witnessed a Person committing immoral, illegal acts many times and when I rightfully reported it next to to the proper authorities, the clearly  guilty  person next  had distorted the truths and lying had said I was promoting hatred towards him and his family, which clearly now was not so. I was a witness of the immoral acts still, unacceptable wrong doings.
Also I do not believe that everyone sets out to be a deliberate racist, it seems to be often merely a poorly thought out stupid mistake for 70 percent of the persons who do it, and many people once they realize what they have done next do even admit their errors and stop it, unfortunately there are the remaining few hate mongers who still do get carried away with their hatred, sins, who need to be incarcerated for their crimes so they can stop and learn not to do it..
(Rev 2:4 KJV)  Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
(Rev 3:19 KJV)  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
and  thou shall  love thy nieghbour as thyself always..

Calgary has the highest rate of hate-motivated crime in the country, according to a new study released by Statistics Canada

In 2006, 92 hate crimes were reported in Calgary — about nine incidents for every 100,000 people in the city, or three times higher than the national average of three per 100,000, said the agency Monday.

Hate crimes per 100,000 population

Ottawa 6.6
London, Ont. 5.9
Toronto 5.5

Calgary was one of five cities that reported data higher than the national average. The other four cities were all in Ontario.  I m not surprised. People in Calgary treat colored people like a 2nd class citizen. I don’t know about Ontario, but the conditions here are atrocious.Canadians have this misconcept that they are tolarant people I can tell you about Calgarians, majority are racist. Everyone saying “I’ve been here for a million years and have seen no sign of any sort of hate crime!” must walk around with their eyes closed. I never thought so much racism, homophobia and just plain ANGER could exist. It’s really sad “I liked the comment about attributing the high number of hate crimes in Calgary to new arrivals from the East. I believe this is what psychologists refer to as “deflecting” or projecting one’s own character failings onto others.   If newly arrived Easterners are truly responsible for all the hate crime, then what attracted them to Calgary in the first place?”

Edmonton’s slow slide into poverty Metro Canada – Edmonton –

In spite of a growing, deepening Albertan  recession the most recent  growth makes Calgary , 1/3 the size of Montreal, is the third-largest municipality in Canada ?  Now according to the latest statistics   Toronto (2,631,725 people in 2007) and Montreal (1,620,693 in 2006) had more people. Ottawa (898,150 in 2008) and Edmonton (782,439 in 2009) rounded out the top five.  However, if one uses census estimates from 2008 for metropolitan areas — which rightfully do include the immediate  surrounding suburbs — then the Calgary Region falls to fifth, behind Toronto (5,531,263), Montreal (3,750,540), Vancouver (2,271,224) and Ottawa (1,198,668).  Calgary (1,182,446) is unique  for having the vast majority of its population live in the actual municipality, and not in surrounding suburbs. It has no suburbs because it is a mostly new city basically. That is why it is also costly as the roads, sewers, are mostly new too. Calgary only has 60,000 more residents than Edmonton (1,124,163) and it makes a lot of false noise in that fact too cause it wants to attract much needed capital investors for non existing industrial, commercial aspects.. There basically are only 2 large cities in Alberta, Calgary and Alberta, and a handful of smaller towns.. Alberta has some of the biggest liars, spin doctors in Canada for the main cities are desperately seeking more  revenues, and capital investors and anyway they can get them now too even by lies, distortions. There is not much industrial, Manufacturing business in Alberta due to the shortage of labor and skilled persons, and high operating costs. People in Calgary and Alberta do often dream of becoming rich ,  but it is a far away dream when you consider the high costs of living there and the uncertainty of holding onto a job too. And they wonder why they cannot get low coast workers to Alberta these days too.. when the average price of a Calgary home in 1980 was $93,977 and that has jumped to $380,489 this year, an increase of 304.9 per cent.

Doctors call for regulation

Many weight loss products like pills, herbs and some private clinics fail to deliver on their promises and governments should be regulating scientifically unproven therapies, obesity doctors say.  I said the same thing in writing to the federal government, health ministers the last 2 decades too.

In reality even Ten Nurses  cannot replace a decent doctor, never mind the health food quacks, liars now as well… nor can the pharmacists,  internet if you are serious ill..

I had 4  separate major illness that no one was able to diagnose without a proper medical test. A friend of mine who ran a health food store totally misdiagnosed the ailments as well to prescribe tones of expensive unneeded  products.. nurses at  the emergency clinics were unable  to diagnose my problems as well.. My problems included gland problems, diabetes, blocked arteries, kidney stones.
In addition to a doctor the second best thing I discovered was a dietician.. But idiotic dieticians who start to give medical advice need to be terminated..

Juices may wash out drug effects London Free Press –   Consuming apple, orange or grapefruit juice can wipe out the benefits of some critical drugs, including cancer- fighting and heart medications, London scientists have discovered.  The groundbreaking research, presented at an international conference in Philadelphia yesterday, also found the common juices may block the transplant drug cyclosporine, possibly leading to organ rejection in patients.  “This is the tip of the iceberg,” said David Bailey, a professor of clinical pharmacology at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry and the lead researcher.  Bailey said further research will find other classes of drugs that are neutralized by the consumption of juices.  Unless it’s known to be a problem, people should take medications only with water, preferably on an empty stomach, Bailey recommends.   Working with fellow Lawson Health Research Institute scientists Richard Kim and George Dresser, Bailey found the juices markedly depressed the absorption of certain drugs into the blood stream.  “The consequence of this is that the effect of the drug may be markedly reduced in its effectiveness and this can be a particular problem with some medications that are essential for the treatment of serious medical conditions,” Bailey said at the national meeting of the American Chemical Society.  The research did not look at juices beyond grapefruit, apple and orange, but it’s likely others will be found to have a similar effect, Bailey said.  He said he expects consuming the raw fruit itself will have the same effect as drinking the fruit juice.  For people who like to drink juices, the good news from the research is the depressing effect is relatively short-lived, allowing one to drink juice if they wait four hours before taking their medication with water.  “If you want to consume orange juice or apple juice or grapefruit juice, that’s fine. You just have to allow sufficient space between when you take your drug and when you drink the juice,” Bailey said.  The London research involved testing groups of 12 to 15 healthy volunteers with the antihistamine drug fexofenadine, used to fight allergies.  The volunteers were given the drug with either a glass of grapefruit juice or a glass of water.  When fexofenadine was given with the juice, only half the drug was absorbed.  Losing half the drugs taken into the body can be critical with some drugs, Bailey said.  In grapefruit juice, the researchers pinpointed the active ingredient naringin as the culprit in blocking the uptake of drugs.  In oranges, the chemical has been identified as hesperidin. The chemical in apples still hasn’t been identified.  While this research shows juices can reduce drug absorption, 20 years ago Bailey discovered grapefruit juice could boost a high blood pressure drug to dangerous levels, even if the juice was consumed a day earlier.  Yesterday, he said his finding that food could adversely interact with drugs was initially met with skepticism from many.  Other scientists have since identified 50 other medications that have a similar risk if consumed with grapefruit juice.  Some prescription drugs now carry warning labels against taking grapefruit juice.
