PM Stephen Harper promised in his election campaign to never appoint senators – zero senators. Since his promise, he appointed 59 senators – the likes of Patrick Brazeau, Duffy, and Walin in exchange for political favors. On that one promise alone, he lied 59 times!
.
Don Meredith, appointed to the Senate by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2010, has been kicked out of the Conservative caucus, Meredith, 50, is an ordained minister at a Pentecostal church in Vaughan, Ont. He ran unsuccessfully for the Tories in Toronto Centre in a 2008 by-election. The development comes as the Toronto Star reported Wednesday night that an 18-year-old woman alleged she had an inappropriate sexual relationship with Meredith, which began when she was 16.

Mint chairman Jim Love expensed luxury trips with wife to global conferences. Toronto lawyer Jim Love flew business class with his wife, slept at Hyatt and Four Seasons hotels, and spent a day on a boat trip to the Great Barrier Reef and a night having dinner at a crocodile farm, according to travel receipts and conference programs.. Love, appointed chair of the mint’s board of directors in 2009 by the Conservative government, billed the mint $44,566 for his and his wife’s flights, hotels, taxis and meals for the two trips. His term ended last year. They were joined by the mint’s then-CEO, Ian Bennett, and his wife, who also enrolled in the tour — at a further cost to the Canadian Mint. Two years later, it was more of the same: Love and his wife attended the next Mint Directors Conference, in Vienna in 2012. They again went on the post-conference tour, a voyage by train through the Austrian countryside followed by a couple nights in Salzburg. The total bill for their business-class airfares and hotel stays during the conference: $21,967. Under PM Stephen Harper overstuffed piggies at the public trough. We have a huge deficit that has ballooned under the Harper government. Tax breaks for the wealthy on the backs of the middle classes taxpayer, so cut the outrageous expense accounts of the ‘appointed’ ones. It is the responsibility of government to fill positions. However, a responsible government would select someone who is decent. http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/mint-chairman-jim-love-expensed-luxury-trips-with-wife-to-global-conferences-1.3116573

The RCMP wants to review findings on all 30 senators flagged for questionable expenses should start of with it’s own personnel as well.
.
I am not guilty is what most people say when they are accused of wrong doings.. even convicted felons.. Look undeniably now 2/3 of Canadians think that Wallin, Duffy are also now guilty of abusing the taxpayer’s money in the Senate, of living high on the Hog at the taxpayer’s expenses.. Expense reporting the policy is clear. All fraud, cheating, lying, stealing is wrong.. Nigel Wright and Mike Duffy, etc., acted on their own volition and like it or not, they are alone firstly responsible, guilty, accountable .How much common sense does it now take that Cheating, lying, committing frauds, abusing your expense account is wrong now? Not much..so why cannot some see this? they love the rewards their stealing brings them.
.
What has these people going clearly is their false love of money.. what it can buy for them.. Face it their being threatened with expulsion from the Senate and the related loss of the pay cheques is really what has brought on their false rages.. outbursts, denials.

It is ironic that Prime Minister Stephen Harper well known for his own past dislike of the sensate and it’s members next appointed some of the worst senators himself.. Wallin is being investigated by the RCMP . Stephen Harper campaigned on reforming the senate and promised not to appoint any senators. Once he achieved power, he has done the opposite. He has appointed more senators than any other prime minister in our history. Harper has made 59 appointments (including Nancy Greene Raine) – here’s a list: http://www.parl.gc.ca/parlinfo/compilations/senate/Senate_NominationByPM.aspx
Mike Duffy, a partisan Conservative operative, facing Mr. Duffy himself is facing alleged accusations embezzlements relating to expense accounts and Of course, it’s the morality, the integrity of the Conservative Party hierarchy, that is now also on trial. With the pay, perks and pensions of a Senate appointment, one would think that Pamela Wallin, Mike Duffy, et al would be satisfied too…
.
.
Harper appointed Duffy to the Senate in late 2008, despite the fact Duffy had lived in the Ottawa area for decades. Duffy was a well-known former TV broadcaster who went on to be featured prominently at Conservative events and in promotional materials. Prime Minister Stephen Harper distanced his party from Sen. Pamela Wallin — who was once a top Conservative fundraiser — after the RCMP alleged in court documents that she defrauded taxpayers for at least one partisan fundraiser.
.
Court documents made public showed one of the 150 expense claims that caught the RCMP’s attention included a trip to Burlington, Ont., on Sept. 16, 2010, for an event for Conservative MP Mike Wallace. When asked by Deloitte auditors whether it was a fundraiser, Wallin allegedly replied that “she assumed ‘people paid for dinner,’” RCMP Cpl. Rudy Exantus wrote in the court documents, adding that the event was a fundraiser to “amass funds for the next election.” The RCMP allege this claim, along with 24 others, are evidence of fraud and breach of trust. The RCMP alleged Wallin charged the Senate for travel related to her work on the board of directors for Porter Airlines and wealth management firm Gluskin Sheff & Associates. The Mounties also allege that on some trips to Toronto, Wallin took care of her personal affairs, pointing to notes in her calendar for medical and dental appointments, birthday parties, a book launch, hair appointments, dry cleaning, and “picking up candle holders.”
.
The RCMP also alleged that Wallin “misrepresented” some of her events to Deloitte auditors. In once case, Wallin told auditors she met with Barrick Gold founder Peter Munk in March 2010. Munk told the RCMP he was in Switzerland at the time. “Upon discovering that (Wallin’s expenses) were not proper and correct, this party has taken the appropriate action,” Harper said. “Ms. Wallin has not been a member of this caucus for two years and she is going to face full accountability for her actions.” Wallin remains suspended without pay from the Senate, and was booted from the Conservative caucus in May 2013, one day after Sen. Mike Duffy left the Tory fold
.
Mr. Harper could try to claim he is not responsible for any of their actions, but he cannot denied he appointed them.. “More serious for the Conservatives is that the Senate scandal might reopen the vault on the larger abuse-of-power narrative that has dogged the Harper government. It may be seen as a microcosm of the serial breaches of the public trust: the undercover dirty tricks, the smear campaigns against opponents, the altering of official documents, the democracy-shredding omnibus bills. If you wanted to go into detail, you could fill an entire page of news print with the ethical transgressions of this government that have undermined the democratic process. They’ve become so common they hardly make news any more.” On the moral bankruptcy charts, this same Party government is leagues ahead of its forerunners. had promised to be different than all the others even. https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2013/10/24/i-am-not-guilty/

So go ahead Mike AND Pamela, ETC. continue to make yourself Canada’s biggest laughing stock.. a big joke, a con, and do find out some more the hard way that a good name is worth more over all the money one can steal..
.
Now we had the cases of the clear breach of trust and fraud investigation in Quebec City halls that and mostly still all those bad people had refused to admit they had stolen taxpayers money, yes even all those crooked Montreal City hall workers, and the city of Laval, leaders now too. And there now are too many more persons like that now..
.
“Going all the way back to the 1950s, ethics has been a major player in the fate of our governments. A prime reason for the defeat of the Liberals in 1957 was the defiant invoking of closure by the Louis St. Laurent government in the TransCanada Pipeline debate. A series of scandals involving his Quebec ministers were instrumental in preventing Lester Pearson from ever winning a majority. In 1984, Pierre Trudeau saddled successor John Turner with a tawdry list of patronage appointments. They hung over Mr. Turner like a dead skunk in his subsequent demolition at the hands of Brian Mulroney.
The Mulroney government’s reputation was then damaged by ministerial scandals. Sleaze, real or imagined, tarred Mr. Mulroney’s own reputation, contributing to his decision to step down in 1993 when his popularity was below sea level. And we all know the impact of the sponsorship scandal on the Liberals of Mr. Chrétien and Paul Martin.”
.
Also “For the Conservatives, the danger is in evidence that suggests the government was trying to protect a political asset. Mr. Duffy was a valuable celebrity fundraiser who raked in cash for the party through recorded messages and events, and played host to the Prime Minister for fake interviews at what the Tories like to call “message events.” And when Mr. Duffy’s expense scandal first blew up, when allegations emerged that he claimed a housing allowance for his home in Ottawa although he had lived in the city for decades, the Conservatives’ first instinct was to protect him. Mr. Duffy has in the past said his partisan work is relevant: he asked the Conservative Party to pay his questioned Senate expenses, saying he incurred them doing party business. The PMO responded by trying to get Mr. Duffy out of trouble.”
.
In spite of past promises Harper unleashes flood of patronage Stephen Harper once said he had no plans to stack the Senate with unelected representatives, suggesting it was “a dumping ground for the favoured cronies of the prime minister.” Next when he’s actually a prime minister, he’s done exactly what he said he wouldn’t do. The Harper cabinet unleashes flood of patronage The rush of appointments followed a little-noticed series of judicial appointments to superior courts across the country in July. That round brought the total number of superior court judges appointed by the Harper government to 201 since 2006. It also further fuelled opposition claims that the prime minister has abandoned election promises of transparency and merit-based public-service and judicial appointments. Conservative appointments to courts, boards, quasi-judicial tribunals and Crown corporations now total an estimated 3,000 since Harper became prime minister. The Tories are also closing in on the Liberals in the Senate after Harper’s appointment of nine senators Thursday, including at least two close advisers. Several of the earlier judicial posts went to lawyers with Tory connections.

Self serving sadly seems to describe too many of our politicians, ministers, civil and public servants https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2015/04/02/self-serving-sadly-seems-to-desribe-too-many-of-our-politicians-ministers-civil-and-public-servants/

A professing Canadian Christian, of the bad Christian Missionary Alliance church, a loser, the Prime Minister Stephen Harper did next again what he said he would not do before, he appointed 18 Conservatives to the Senate had even lied to us, he next did not keep his promises of full transparency, or full accountability, and even that he would stop the perverse patronage hiring system, deal adequately with a bad lobbying system, and what else? After insisting he would never appoint people to an un-elected Senate, the prime minister sent a staggering 18 curly-tailed snorters to the Red Room, confirming his election pledges aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. Harper talks a good talk when it comes to populace issues like balancing the books, Senate reform and fixed election dates. But when it comes time to stand up and defend those principles in the real world of governing, Harper turns into a mashed potato.
.
Harper’s own recent appointment of senators indicates clearly still that Harper cannot be trusted to work with the opposition parties as a minority government. Harper had once sold himself to Canadians as a different kind of politician, one who’d refrain from using patronage appointments to the Senate. A man who could be trusted to keep that and other promises.. Instead, Harper has fast become the kind of governing politician he once professed to abhor — one who routinely breaks his word.
.
“Other examples include the $300-million fall election call, which broke Harper’s promise to stick to his own fixed election law and failed to deliver the majority he’d gambled on; Harper also reneged on his pledge not to impose new taxes on income trusts and his vow to exclude nonrenewable natural resources like oil and natural gas from the equalization formula — a decision critics say has cost Saskatchewan $800 million a year. All Canadians saw again now was yet another prime minister rewarding mostly partisan party loyalists with a plum $130,000-a-year job and lavish perks.
.
Yes Stephen Harper the Prime Minister he too now has showed us all he really was a liar, no better than the rest, and he has continued wrongfully too to hire more of his conservative friends into good government jobs.. so now do rightfully fire him. http://thenonconformer.blogspot.com/2008/01/canadian-citizens-point-of-view.html

The New Conservatives are just as disgusting as the bad Liberals they had replaced.. MONTREAL — A little more than a year ago, Saulie Zajdel joined Stephen Harper for a happy-hour pub stop in Montreal as perhaps the Conservatives’ best hope to win their first seat in this city in a quarter-century. Today, Zajdel is under arrest.

Politicians, civil and Public servants Pigging out, living high on the hog, or getting drunk and patronistic hiring practices, are clearly an unacceptable abuse. A Liberal alcoholic politician is now just as bad as a Conservative alcoholic politician firstly.. and lies just as much..

.
The whole truth comes out why you hired bad people or about the drunk drivers, poor now removal, road accidents, recession, Stephen Harper, city halls corruptions.. but first can you tell me why the poor managers allow all these civil bad public servants, senators, aides, MPs, MLA’s, MPP’s in municipalities, provinces, Canada wide, fly all over the country, world wide, eat fine food, drink alcohol, in fine restaurants at taxpayer’s expense while the country is in a big recession? The sad Unacceptable taxpayer’s money abuses.

.
The continual mismanagement, budget deficit, tax payer money abuses and has there been even any changes in all this really? We all really still do need still a full review of the waste, fraud, and abuse that has plagued governmental efforts. What is also needed is a enforced, real program to remove public officials from office that take our money and abuse it, spend it on their own false pet projects while many of our people still are not getting the help that they need. You also did notice the cops do too often still not practice what they preach to others they themselves still do like to speed, and how many like to drink and drive still too?
https://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/02/11/the-whole-truth-comes-out/
.
People in leadership office do have to face higher penalties as an example now too. It is clearly established, accepted fact by most people that those in leadership civil and public servants cops, teachers, ministers, politicians included are always to be exemplary in behavior, conduct and they do need to maintain their high standards even out of their working hours, thus to do so they are also to be exemplary judged, prosecuted for their own wrong doings with a higher standard over those of us ordinary folks. So where is it?
