The devil spreads many, many myths about beer, wine, drugs, hangover cures and whether or not they are good for you.

What does alcohol actually do to the human body? How does it affect behaviour and what might be done to lessen, or even prevent, its most harmful effects? Nothing real good comes from any of them, believe it or not.

Canadians need to be  aware of the ongoing and escalating human and economic costs.  More than one alcoholic drink a day could take years off your life. According also to  other researchers, roughly 20 per cent of all violent crime would not have occurred if the perpetrator was not under the influence of or seeking alcohol. Alcohol ‘directly causes’ seven forms of cancer. Alcohol, or ethanol, is a sedative, hypnotic drug, and the intoxicating ingredient present in wine, beer, and spirits.   Although it is classified as a sedative, hypnotic drug, it has a stimulant effect in small amounts. Alcohol is known to be harmful to developing brains (from fetus to adolescence).Intoxication impairs judgment and can result in inappropriate and illegal behaviors such as sexual promiscuity, disorderly conduct, driving while intoxicated and acts of violence. Roughly 1 in 10 deaths among working-age adults results from excessive drinking. The most serious side effect of alcohol consumption is respiratory and central nervous system depression. When the amount of alcohol in the blood exceeds a certain level, or if other depressant-type medications are taken in combination, the respiratory system significantly slows down, resulting in a lack of oxygen to the brain. This can quickly progress to a comatose state and eventual death.

Heavy drinking is a major cause of preventable death in most countries. And alcohol is implicated in about half of fatal traffic accidents. If all drinkers limited themselves to a single drink a day, we probably wouldn’t need as many cardiologists, liver specialists, mental health, medical professionals, and substance abuse counselors.

Heavy drinking will take a toll on the body. It can cause inflammation of the liver (alcoholic hepatitis) and lead to scarring of the liver (cirrhosis), a potentially fatal disease. It has also been linked with several cancers: The World Cancer Research Fund and American Institute for Cancer Research indicate that there is convincing evidence linking alcohol use to cancer of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, esophagus, breast, and colon and rectum in men, and probable evidence that its use contributes to liver cancer and colorectal cancer in women. The risk is multiplied for drinkers who also smoke tobacco. Alcohol can disrupt sleep. Its ability to cloud judgment is legendary. Alcohol interacts in potentially dangerous ways with a variety of medications, including acetaminophen, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, painkillers, and sedatives. It is also addictive, especially for people with a family history of alcoholism.

DRUNK DRIVING

Alcoholism has a price. Depression, homelessness, the break up of the family unit, losing one’s job, losing one’s career, losing one’s house, losing one’s mind, losing one’s life even.

Problem drinking also touches drinkers’ families, friends, and communities. Too many persons meet standard criteria for alcohol abuse or alcoholism. Alcohol plays a big role in one in three cases of violent crime. Many people die each year in automobile accidents in which alcohol is involved. Alcohol abuse is very costly to all.

For a 30-year-old man, the increased risk of alcohol-related accidents outweighs the possible heart-related benefits of moderate alcohol consumption. For a pregnant woman and her unborn child, a recovering alcoholic, a person with liver disease, and people taking one or more medications that interact with alcohol, moderate drinking offers little benefit and substantial risks.

If you don’t drink, do not start. You can get guaranteed positive  benefits with more exercise or healthier eating.

Increased Antisocial behavior including stealing money or lying. Intense anxiety, fear, distrust, or panic are common side effects.

Marijuana also increases a person’s heart rate for up to three hours after use, putting users at risk for heart attack during that period. Secondhand marijuana smoke can do as much damage to the heart and blood vessels as secondhand tobacco smoke. The regular use of marijuana during adolescence is of particular concern, since use by this age group is associated with an increased likelihood of negative consequences such as Addiction (about 9% of adults and 17% of people who started smoking as teens) No medications are currently available to treat marijuana use disorder.

No man should adduce   favour of drinking wine unless he can prove that the wine Jesus  made in the” water-pots” of Cana was just like the wine which he proposes to drink. There are ample Greek literary texts which negate the narrow definition of oinos as denoting only fermented wine as it did not have the taste or the intoxicating effect of ordinary wine, God did not make fermented juice.. John the Baptist did not drink wine or any other form of alcohol because Scripture prophesied that he wouldn’t (Luke 1:15). Most people don’t know where to draw the line between temperance and excess. Such people better abstain totally until they know they can “be temperate in all things.”

And the word used twice  for “good” wine is a Greek word which refers to something or someone morally excellent or intrinsically good, rather It was Christ who in the Old Testament gave the warning to Israel, that “Wine is a mocker,” so why would he make fermented grape juice? by creating alcoholic wine, Jesus would have been promoting drunkenness, which the Bible clearly identifies as sinful.

If Jesus made fermented wine, then the fact that the guests had become”well drunk” would have meant that Jesus endorsed excessive drinking. Therefore,either Jesus endorsed excessive drinking of alcohol or the wine was unfermented grape juice! Obviously, then, the wine that Jesus made was unfermented grape juice.

Exodus 12:15 and 13:7 forbid the very presence of “leaven” anywhere in the homes during Passover. The New Testament–in Matthew 16:12 and I Corinthians 5:7-8–provide the explanation by declaring that leaven is a symbol of evil. Leaven is a yeast, so the leavening process is parallel to the process of fermentation. In the light of these facts,plus Jesus’ statement in the disputed passages that the “fruit of the vine”represented His own saving blood, we must surely conclude that the communion cup did, and should always, contain unfermented (ie., uncorrupted) grape juice. The following Old Testament texts show God’s disapproval of wine, as “yayin:” Genesis 9:21; 19:32; Leviticus10:9-11; Deuteronomy 32:33; Psalm 60:3; Proverbs 4:17; 20:1; 23:20, 29-35;31:4-5; Isaiah 5:11-12; 28:7; Ezekiel 44:21; and Hosea 7:5. Proverbs 23:31-35–Again, the very nature of fermented wine is categorically condemned as a “serpent” and an “adder” that bites and stings.

The Bible condemns the use itself of all alcoholic beverages and highly recommends unfermented grape juice!  The only exception to this consistent rule in Scripture is Proverbs 31: 6-7, which commands that alcoholic beverages be given to those who are dying or cowards.

The assumption made by proponents of the moderate use of alcoholic beverages that the ancient peoples did not know how to preserve the juice of the grape in an unfermented state, and that therefore, virtually every instance of wine mentioned in the Bible must be to fermented wine.This assumption is totally false as the ancient historical records are abundantly clear that there were several major methods of preserving grape juice in its natural, unfermented state.

Scriptures clearly teach that the very nature of alcoholic beverages is that which brings spiritual apostasy and otherwise affects the mind (and body too) of whomever drinks it. In other words, it is not excessive drinking only that the Bible condemns,but the beverage itself and its consumption in any amount. Since most people and Christians do not know or study the Bible today they are easily deceived.

As it is abundantly clear that the Bible condemns the use of alcohol in any amounts, Persons that are simply rationalizing what they want to do regardless of the facts or the consequences to their spiritual, or physical, natures are led to do so by the demons.

A new study suggests Canadians are thirstier than ever as sales of wine, beer  and spirits are on track to setting a record high. Increasing indulgence  has been a trend all year long with Canadians spending close to half a billion  dollars more on alcohol in the first nine months of 2012 than in 2011, and if this growth holds up through the holiday season, that would set the stage for  record retail sales of more than $19 billion in 2012. Whether it is family get-togethers,  holiday parties or just drinking to stay warm, liquor sales typically surge by  over 40 per cent of the monthly average in December, the study  suggests. No taxpayer’s money should ever  be used to buy alcohol  at any federal, provincial, municipal government functions nor encourage any alcoholism too. Really!

This is a dangerous combination . And it’s just a matter of time before new regulations start to surface here too.  Unfortunately, the vast majority of people impaired by these products are young, often those not yet of legal drinking age. They mix it with juices and stimulant drinks that enhance the poisonous effects. According to the American Cancer Society, cancers linked to alcohol use include mouth, throat, voice box, esophagus, liver, colon and rectum, breasts, and even pancreatic cancer. For each of these cancers, the risk increases with the amount of alcohol consumed.

Now besides the negative effect of alcohol in the private sector they do not booze it up as much as our civil and public servants, politicians  have and do for sure. Experts said alcohol scored so high because it is so widely used and has devastating consequences not only for drinkers but for those around them. When drunk in excess, alcohol damages nearly all organ systems. It is also connected to higher death rates and is involved in a greater percentage of crime than most other drugs, including heroin. All governments should consider more education programs and raising the price of alcohol so it isn’t as widely available.

Also a review of B.C. accidents from 1999 to 2003 showed that nearly a third of such impaired drivers faced more drunk driving charges, even after they killed or maimed others in 84 per cent of the initial accidents.“Follow-up over a 4.5 year period indicated that 30.7 per cent of the injured impaired drivers were engaged in subsequent impaired driving, notwithstanding that they injured or killed someone in more than 84 per cent of initial crashes. These studies suggest that our emergency departments may have become safe havens for the worst drinking drivers, those drivers who are involved in fatal or personal injury crashes. They recover, get out of hospital, drive drunk again, and escape prosecution and conviction. It doesn’t take them long which is exactly why the conviction rate has to go up. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers (Luke 12:45, 46).

(1) It leads to debauchery:
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18).
(2) It brings woe, sorrow, strife, complaints, needless bruises and bloodshot eyes:
Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? Those who linger over wine, who go to sample bowls of mixed wine. Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper. Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind imagine confusing things. You will be like one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging. “They hit me,” you will say, “but I’m not hurt! They beat me, but I don’t feel it!  When will I wake up so I can find another drink?” (Prov. 23:29-35)
(3) It reveals those who do get drunk as unwise:
Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise (Prov. 20:1).
(4) It disqualifies a person from spiritual leadership:

(1 Tim 3:1 KJV) This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4  One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

The Bible condemns the use itself of all alcoholic beverages and highly recommends unfermented grape juice!  The only exception to this consistent rule in Scripture is Proverbs 31: 6-7, which commands that alcoholic beverages be given to those who are dying or cowards.

The assumption made by proponents of the moderate use of alcoholic beverages that the ancient peoples did not know how to preserve the juice of the grape in an unfermented state, and that therefore, virtually every instance of wine mentioned in the Bible must be to fermented wine.This assumption is totally false as the ancient historical records are abundantly clear that there were several major methods of preserving grape juice in its natural, unfermented state.

It seems that 70 percent of the adults drink alcohol in Canada too but 100 percent of them claim to be non alcoholics? civil and public servants included, and where do all of the many drunk drivers, alcoholics come from now too? For the civil and public servants all you have to do is look at their expenses accounts, see how much they charged us for booze and that will quickly show us all whether they really are alcoholics or not for a start. Few alcoholics will admit they are alcoholics just as few persons will admit they practice tax evasion as well. Drunk drivers still cause most of the car accidents but the police prefer to go after speeding tickets, it is easier to to get the speeders.. and very profitable, sadly it also ties up our courts with the mostly unnecessary cases too.

Drunk drivers who hurt others.. There’s just no cure for drunks.  I bet he’s a repeat offender.  There is no need to send it to court. Merely Ban the idiot from driving for the next 100 years and throw him in jail for five years. If proven to be impaired, the driver will be without insurance. they also will sue him to recover their losses, garnish his wages and put a lien on his house and anything else he owns. Treasury Board president Stockwell Day said Wednesday that for the first time these kinds of expenses will be made public along with new guidelines about where and when public servants can tipple on the taxpayer’s dime, among other things. “We want to control expenses related to hospitality, conferencing and travelling,” Day told reporters, noting it was Auditor General Sheila Fraser who shone a light on hospitality expenses. “Travel is necessary, hospitality costs are necessary and conferences are necessary, but we want to make sure only the ones that are truly necessary are moving forward,” said Day Now, the purchase of alcohol on the public purse is limited to situations such as those involving diplomats or “appropriate business with outside stakeholders.” The new guidelines will not affect MPs, who can still stick taxpayers with their booze bills under the guise of hospitality.Day said Fraser found examples of a reception that cost $31,500 or more than $100 a head; dinners that cost more than $1,500 for only 10 to 12 people and a farewell for a public servant that cost $7,200 The new cost cutting measures include: Ensuring that department spending on travel, hospitality and conferences is reported each year; Ensuring that annual budgets in these area are approved by deputy ministers; and Restricting all spending on alcohol to situations necessary for protocol, diplomacy or appropriate business with outside stakeholders. Politicains make decisions that affect millions of people, therefore I think it should be zero tolerance for politicians and alcohol. Everyday they do far more damage than some guy in his car or on his motorcycle at .05. Booze rules are needed for the alcoholics called MPs and Senators. This group of officials spends SO MUCH money on alcohol, and this needs to stop. It seems that this line of work attracts a very big number of alcoholics who figure out that they can sustain their addiction with out blowing their salaries on it. Sound like a very good deal except for the suckers called tax payers.  When are we going to stand up and stop the abuse of our money? Why do we continue to allow the government to misuse our hard earned money; after all none of us would get away with this type of behavior in our private lives? Also none of us who work for the private sector would get a way with squandering the company’s money the way the government treasury does.  How can I explain to my teenage son and/or daughter to not squander her/his money on none sense when our government is doing exactly that during these tough economic times. I would like to know how much money does the government, House of Commons and the Senate spends on alcohol, lunches, dinner and receptions? I would like to recommend that for every dollar spent on the above mentioned activities that we the tax payers get a dollar returned to us, and at the end we’ll see if there is a deficit from this exchange.  The government has the audacity to collect taxes from poor people who earn less than $10,000/yr. while they spend all that tax money the collected from the poor person on alcohol, lunches, dinners and receptions and god knows what other luxuries and or immoral activities are they spending it on.

A local taxi driver complained to me how significantly he has seen his taxes go up even on his home in the last 30 years.. he attributes it all to government wastes, thefts, ineffective and wasteful civil and public servants living high on the hog.. it had to stop now a long time ago as well..

Alcohol and drugs can damage a teen’s brain in more ways than people  admit, think.  Their negative Symptoms include loss of consciousness, dizziness, headaches, moodiness, difficulty concentrating and increased sensitivity to light and sounds. Teens who reported having 40 or more drinks in the past year had more than five times the odds of suffering a traumatic brain injury than youths who abstained. Those who smoked pot 10 or more times in the past year were more than three times as likely to report a brain injury. But booze and pot will  also make people dizzy and disoriented and alter their perception of distance and space.  We already do know from adult studies just how devastating the results are from  drinking alcohol  or   the pot use injuries can be on all of the people’s real quality of life, even their ability to hold steady employment, and their relationships,  and mental health.

More Canadians are trying to drink themselves to sleep, Quebec study finds  Canwest News Service ,  Canadians are spending hundreds of millions of dollars every year self-medicating their insomnia with alcohol, a new study suggests. “We were very surprised to see that so many people use alcohol as a way to promote sleep, particularly because it has more detrimental than beneficial effects on sleep,” says Charles Morin, a professor of psychology at Laval University and one of the authors of the study, published this week in the journal Sleep. Overall, eight per cent of the sample reported using alcohol as a sleep aid. Among people with insomnia, 28 per cent reported self-medicating with alcohol.   The study estimates the total annual costs of the sleep disorder in Quebec alone is $6.5 billion. “We know insomnia is a very prevalent problem, it has a very negative impact on people’s quality of life,” Morin says. “If we can show that it’s 10 times more costly not to treat insomnia because of its impact on absenteeism from work and reduced productivity than it is to treat it, why aren’t we treating it more often?” Part of the problem is that so few people seek help. Morin says some people take sleeping pills, “but there are many more who self-medicate with over-the-counter products or, worse, with alcohol.” The research found the money spent on the use of booze as a sleep aid far exceeds costs associated with visits to doctors and the use of prescription pills and over-the-counter products from antihistamines to herbal teas. “The idea that ‘schnapps before your bedtime’ is good for your sleep might have been right about 100 years ago, as long as it was the occasional schnapps,” says Dr. Adam Moscovitch, medical director of the Canadian Sleep Institute and a University of Calgary professor. “When you knock yourself out as a way of dealing with it, if you can’t shut you mind off in any other way, then alcohol has a very negative effect on your sleep. It deprives you of any of the deep stages of sleep and, once it wears off, it has a rebound effect. So your problem becomes much worse.” Of the $6.5 billion estimated annual costs associated with insomnia in Quebec, the biggest indirect cost by far — $5 billion — was reduced productivity. The highest direct cost — $339.8 million — was money spent on alcohol to promote sleep. By comparison, an estimated $16.5 million was spent on prescription drugs, and $1.8 million for over-the-counter products. The study, based on a random sample of 948 adults, distinguished between those people who drink at the end of the day, and those who use booze specifically to help them sleep, meaning they drink before bedtime, or in the middle of the night. Attitudes To Alcohol Must Change. A health Minister  has called for a change in attitudes towards alcohol by both the public and the drinks industry all year now too. Honking, fist-shaking, screaming, obnoxious drivers: the symptoms of road rage.    Insurance Corporation of British Columbia  Psychologist John Vavrik, who studies driving behaviour for ICBC, says road rage can be better understood as “aggressive driving spectrum disorder.” According to Vavrik, road rage can take many forms.  “There’s not a clean definition of it. It’s basically an aggressive act aimed at hurting somebody or sending a message to somebody,” Vavrik said.  “The people most at risk of engaging in these behaviours are the least likely to control their behaviour,” he said. “They have low emotional intelligence. They don’t have the tools or skills or strategy to manage their emotions.  “In those extreme cases, we’re talking about sociopathic issues. The driver’s a walking time bomb.”  According to Vavrik, “road-ragers” are generally underachievers, individuals who lack assertiveness and control, and do not have the status in life they desire.  He said the “depersonalized space” of a vehicle is a trigger to road rage, as is an unexpected traffic delay, such as that caused by a slow driver, or being stuck behind an idle bus.

 Now we know that more people have accident due to road rage, impaired driving, driving under the influence of drugs, alcohol  over speeding too and we still do need to review how much time and resources do the police deal with that speeding and neglect the drunk drivers firstly? “

An Australian study estimates that about half of all traffic accidents in Australia may be due to road rage and most of the others related to alcohol, impaired driving and yet the police falsely tend to pursue revenue generating speeding traffic tickets still and why?   Road rage is a relatively serious act; it can  be seen as a violation of human and property rights , an endangerment of  other’s personal well being, security.

Police say Sheppard, 33, grabbed onto a car following an altercation with the driver. They say the driver Mr. Bryant still drove way with Sheppard hanging on. Why did Bryant not rather stop?  He Sheppard  then next fell and suffered fatal injuries and dies one hour later. But after dozing intermittently, Mr. Sheppard insisted on bicycling back to his own apartment. Leaving Ms. Bailey’s, he was immediately apprehended by Toronto police, who were responding to a call of “unknown trouble” at the building. Mr. Sheppard was placed into the back of the police cruiser.  For Ms. Bailey, this is where she last saw her boyfriend alive. It is also where she wishes he could have stayed, and that the police could have driven him all the way home in one piece. “I asked for the police to give him a ride home,” said Ms. Bailey, 34, adding that her friends also made similar requests. “They said ‘No, he’s going to [take] himself home.”  Shortly afterward, Mr. Sheppard was killed in a collision with a black Saab convertible on Bloor Street West, just east of Avenue Road. Toronto Police are being criticized for their perceived special treatment of Michael Bryant. The former Attorney General was charged with the death of a cyclist and taken into custody Monday night. By the time Bryant held a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, he was wearing a fresh, clean suit that had been dropped off at the station. And he never appeared in bail court. Instead, Bryant was released and will face a judge for the first time on October 19. That sparked prominent defence lawyer Edward Sapiano to say that anyone else, aside from a police officer or politician, would have been forced to show up in bail court unshaven and dishevelled.

Michael Bryant, who once appointed judges and oversaw Crown prosecutors, has now suddenly found himself on the opposite side of the judicial system, accused of criminal negligence causing death and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death in the altercation involving Darcy Allan Sheppard. Now his career and reputation have been severely damaged already as a result too so Bryant is supposedly trying to buy his way out of it by hiring the best PR, lawyers too. Reminds me of the OJ Simpson fiasco.Rich and Powerful  Michael Bryant has hired the best PR, Lawyers, Spin doctors to try to clean up his tarnished image, to falsely deny he killed someone too.

This guy should clearly not be driving, and yes, I would consider him a danger to the public based on the eyewitnesses’ accounts.  Do the police have any proof that Bryant was not drinking?  I have not heard that a breathalyser was administered to Bryant, or about whether there was alcohol purchased at the restaurant where he was celebrating. It sounds as though police are simply taking him at his word. That is insane, given the outrageous manner in which he was allegedly driving.  And if he wasn’t drinking, then there is something seriously wrong with him. He needed to stop his vehicle after allegedly hitting Sheppard, and he needed to stop his vehicle when Sheppard held on to his vehicle. Nobody in their right mind would accelerate under those conditions – particularly when there were bystanders who could help him if he felt he was in danger.  I’m just wondering how Bryant, and his PR firm have spun the story so that the guy who allegedly hit a person on a bike, and used his vehicle as a weapon is now being depicted as a “victim” who was terrorized – I think it is more accurate to say that if you hit a person/cyclist, then try to knock them away when they are trying to stop you from leaving – that is terrorizing someone. I keep reading posts with people saying that if someone held onto their car, they would accelerate (up to 90km/hr into oncoming traffic?) – that’s safe?.( that is  murderous).. I try to imagine someone calm, like my mom yelling at a cyclist, then nudging them with her car and driviing away (hit and run?), then when the person is holding on (after being allegedly assaulted..), driving her vehicle in such a way as to remove the person in any way possible. The “culture of entitlement” at the lottery corporation appears to be a deep-rooted problem that will not be solved by the new procedures put in place by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, said Kevin Gaudet, federal director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

Under the new Ontario Government rules revealed this month , employees with unacceptable expense claims such as alcohol for staff functions and personal items must repay the taxpayers. McGuinty’s move follows the revelations employees at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp expensed items such as a $3,713.77 dinner for 38 people that included more than 10 bottles of wine and other alcohol. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.’s 10 highest-paid employees expensed at least $2,533 on alcohol between January, 2007, and December, 2008. A sales and marketing meeting at the Keg resulted in a $260 liquor tab; 38 people at a pre- Sound of Music business dinner drank $885 worth of alcoholic beverages. Any hospitality event at which alcohol was served would have to receive prior approval. The same provincial public-service rules also require written approval before all out-of-province travel, rarely evident in the documents the province made public this week. It all now still reveals a culture of acceptability that is inappropriate in a recession and in any Crown environment. The past provincial directive, which has been in place since 2004, states that “reimbursement of meal costs must not include the reimbursement for any alcoholic beverages.” The Ontario Liberals have also ordered a review of the 600 provincial agencies, boards and commissions to root out spending abuses. New Democrat Leader Andrea Horwath said the added layer of scrutiny doesn’t assuage concerns about widespread illicit spending among government agencies. NOW WHAT ABOUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?

Saskatchewan has introduced the toughest repeat drunk-driving sentencing policy in Canada, just in time for the holiday party season. The loser, the Prime Minister Stephen Harper did next again what he said he would not do before, he appointed 18 Conservatives to the Senate on Monday… Two television journalists, an Olympic hero and a covey of Conservative partisans were named to the Senate in Stephen Harper’s biggest volley of patronage since he became prime minister.  Appointees will receive a $130,400 annual salary indexed to inflation until they retire or reach age 75, followed by a very comfortable pension – and both are indexed to inflation.    Most of those appointed to the Senate   18 Conservatives   were not household names, but well-connected Tories such as defeated candidates, campaign organizers and party fundraisers.  Harper’s timing, just before Christmas when most Canadians are preoccupied with holiday cheer rather than politics, suggests the government wasn’t anxious to showcase the appointments. A common Harper occurance.  Opposition parties questioned whether Harper has the political legitimacy for a patronage spree, having averted the defeat of his minority government only by suspending Parliament until the new year.   They also questioned the timing of the announcement – given the dire state of the economy and public finances. They said filling those 18 seats will cost taxpayers $6 million a year. “This business of stuffing the Senate possibly on his way out the door, it’s obscene. It’s the only word. It’s just obscene.”

It seems that 70 percent of the adults drink alcohol in Canada too but 100  percent of them claim to be non alcoholics? civil and public servants included, and where do all of the many drunk  drivers, alcoholics  come from now too? For the civil and public servants all you have to do is look at their expenses accounts, see how much they charged us for booze and that will quickly show us all whether they really are alcoholics or not for a start.  Few alcoholics will admit they are alcoholics just as few persons will admit they practice tax evasion as well. I trust you all can readily supply us all with the answers. The continual mismanagement, budget deficit, tax payer money abuses and has there been even any changes in all this really? We all  really still do need still a full  review of the waste, fraud, and abuse that has plagued governmental efforts. What is also needed is a enforced, real program to remove public officials from office that take our money and abuse it, spend it on their own false pet projects while many of our people still are not getting the help that they need. You also did notice the cops do too often still  not  practice what they preach to others they themselves still do like to speed, and how many like to drink and drive still too?

Even in our governments, history tends to repeat itself, including thefts, waste and mismanagement, deficits, and they tend not to rather get better and why? There are also plenty of places to try to save the tax payer’s money but starting to save the tax payer’s money at the expense of the poor people and their welfare programs is not the best  way to do this, not at all the way to do it!   The governments firstly should though clearly manage better it’s civil and public servants.. and the capital expenditures. Why? Well I do also know from real  experiences that it is also the services to the poor and needy persons, those who can afford it the least, that are wrongfully cut to make up for the past budget mismanagement by Ministers, managers of the civil and public servants too in Canada’s Provinces, Municipalities too. Rather than cutting back on the governmental aid, programs to  the poor and needy persons even next  because of the government’s own unacceptable past mismanagement we all do now too need to really take another continual look at how effective our tax dollars are always all of being used by the civil and public servants, and their managers, politicians now too. Cutting back on the Corporate welfare also is what the government still does also needs to deal with and not cutting firstly the Social welfare. The Corporations got what Billions  in social welfare from the tax payers? and we do not have money for the poor people? or for proper medical care, or for proper Justice, police, consumer protection  too? It never surprises me anymore when the superiors, Managers even  at City hall as well can also still  find money for new furniture, more staff, larger personal expense accounts but cannot find  the money to help the ordinary, poor and needy people during the good and bad times now too. Harper’s own recent appointment of senators indicates clearly still that Harper  cannot be trusted to work with the opposition parties as a minority government. Harper had once sold himself to Canadians as a different kind of politician, one who’d refrain from using patronage appointments to the Senate. A man who could be trusted to keep that and other promises.. SMOKING, ALCOHOL, BAD DRUGS, BAD FOOD, LACK OF EXERCISE, STRESS & bad cops

Now as usual next the big  liars will try to justify their pot and alcohol sins, addictions.. even by lying and saying that no one died from smoking pot.. but they have had heart attacks as a direct result.. and at least 30 percent of the car accidents are caused by impaired drugs, pot smoking driving.. for a start.. Pot brain damage like alcohol brain damage is also irreversible.. marijuana’s effects from heavy, long-term use have been linked to neuorological problems such as learning difficulty and strokes.. Marijuana can cause the heart beat to increase by 20 to 50 beats per minute, and can increase even more if other drugs are used at the same time. Because of the lower blood pressure and higher heart rate, researchers found that users’ risk for a heart attack is four times higher within the first hour after smoking marijuana, compared to their general risk of heart attack when not smoking.

IN ONE YEAR 60% of fatally injured drivers in Canada had a positive reading for blood alcohol and 160,000 people were convicted of impaired   driving .  IMPAIRED DRIVING CONVICTIONS ARE MAINLY ENFORCED 2 MONTHS OF THE YEAR FIRSTLY, AND ARE NOT DONE THE WHOLE YEAR.  generally alcohol-related driving offences account for approximately 25% of all Criminal Code prosecutions. ” If you drink and drive, it’s everybody’s business” still.

AND in Canada in all provinces now too DRIVING at  supposedly  UNSAFE SPEED, supposedly speeding  ACCOUNTS FOR ABOUT 14.5 PERCENT OF  VEHICLE ACCIDENT’S DEATHS AS OPPOSED TO IMPAIRED DRIVING AT 45 PERCENT!
 
so tell me, do tell us all  again why the police do not go after the drunk drivers more, and when they do it is only 2 months of the year, December and January, when the alcoholics do stay alcoholics all year and likely drive impaired still all year too.. so why does the police fill up the courts with the fast buck, revenue generating traffic tickets, helping the insurance firms to get more money too by increasing the insurance rates??? The cops, RCMP too should really now  spend more time on putting into jail all the alcoholics who drive, but also allof the bad civil and public servants, politicians,  and bad citizens who abuse the taxpayers money rather firstly too. And why are they not doing it? Cause even they abuse the taxpayers monies too? and the likely fact that half of the cops are also drunks..
 
A  survey of Ontario policing  found that, on average, a police officer laid 2.5 drinking driving charges per year. The study suggests several reasons for low enforcement rates:
not enough personnel (small towns only have one patrol unit that has to be available for emergencies and cannot be sidetracked by an impaired driving situation)
– time-consuming arrest proceedings (including the availability of a technician for BAC  testing)
-attitudes of officers and administrators (not a serious crime, too time-consuming)
– the court system (many forms to process the charge, mistakes lead to acquittals)
-amount of paperwork required (2 hour average to do paperwork) (Vingilis, 1991, 202)

Research ALSO found a significant divergence in the punishments given to impaired drivers BY THE POLICE AND THE COURTS, locally and Canada wide too.

In an average year in Canada, impaired driving killed 1,212 persons, injured 71,532, and caused damage to 236,375 vehicles, translating into 1,010 fatal crashes, 48,890 injury-only crashes and 155,510 property-damage only (PDO) crashes, totaling an average of 205,410 crashes in all. In turn, on average, this cost Canadians between $1.90 billion (Real Dollar Estimate model) and $11.28 billion (Willingness to Pay model) dollars, depending on the costing model and assumptions used. To put this another way, that represents a cost of between about $59.00 and $341.00 per Canadian. EXCLUDING THE EXTRA COSTS FOR INSURANCE NOW TOO..

In 2006, it was estimated that about 368,396 individuals were injured in motor vehicle crashes. MADD Canada estimates that approximately 75,374 of these individuals were injured in impaired driving crashes (207 per day). It is very interesting that when most of the news reporters, governments tend to write about heart attacks, or car accidents they seem to downplay, omit alcohol’s effect and why is that?

On the surface, at least, Canadians  appear to be among the healthiest in the country when it comes to cardiovascular disease.  But the realties  are deceiving and paint a much different picture once you look into them. Twenty-two per cent of them smoke, 60 percent of them drink alcohol, 50 per cent are overweight or obese and 67 per cent do not eat a healthy diet. Many persons have often, continually unresolved negative personal stress   All of these factors contribute to high blood pressure — and they are entirely preventable, or deal able with.  A lot of what we perceive to be healthy eating and doing actually isn’t.  For starters, all persons people should shake their addiction to salty, packaged meals. reduce their red meat consumptions, reduce their meal sizes, eat more regularly too, One of the biggest problems is the high amount of sodium in our food,” This salt encourages water in the blood to remain, and gives more work for the heart to pump. Everyone does have  responsibilities, parents, spouses, food distributors as do governments and food manufacturers. Now  it’s about all of us doing a better job to increase public awareness and promoting more lifestyle changes around being healthy. According to the World Health Association, high blood pressure is the leading risk for death in the world.  Hypertension is the leading cause of heart and stroke disease, but there are no obvious symptoms.  Now  regular Doctor checkups,  with a competent and not too often a pretentious doctor too, to screen for hypertension, Diabetes as well  are required since studies suggest will affect half of all Canadians by the time they turn 60.  Over time, high blood pressure can damage blood vessel walls causing scarring that promotes the buildup of plaque deposits, which narrow and eventually block blood flow. Increased blood pressure can lead to heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure and other diseases that many persons next do die from. One in five Canadians has high blood pressure — and many  Canadians are among the least likely in the country to take measures to lower it. Only  80 per cent of the 4.6 million Canadians with hypertension take medication to control it, according to new findings from Statistics Canada. Doing things like having a  healthy diet high in fruits and vegetables and low in saturated fat is very effective, as is regular physical activity and maintaining a healthy body weight.  The prevalence of high blood pressure was about the same in men as in women, but men were less likely to be aware of their condition. The numbers should give all cause for concern.

Hypertension another  leading personal cause of heart attacks, strokes and other major medical problems. For most North Americans even if you don’t have high blood pressure now, you need to make a serious lifestyle, food  adjustments now to avoid personal health problems, especially Cancer and Heart diseases next  in one’s future.   A person is considered hypertensive with a blood-pressure reading of 140/90 millimetres of mercury (mmHg) or higher. Healthy adults should have a blood pressure in the range of 120/80 mmHg, although that target varies with age and other health conditions. There are many DIFFERENT factors that contribute to high blood pressure, including first the type of one’s food consumption, too much read meat, not enough fruit and vegetables,  being overweight, a lack of physical activity, excessive sodium consumption and aging. Hypertension, while it has few obvious symptoms, is a leading risk factor for heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease. TORONTO, ONTARIO Facing pressure to release more details about alleged fraud or wrongdoing investigated by the auditor-general, the city revealed that it had fired three staff and suspended 10 others without pay. But the city would not say for which among a list of allegations in the report, including theft and improperly cancelled parking tickets, the employees were punished. Meanwhile, in a separate case of alleged fraud, the city announced it had fired nine staff it had sent home with pay last month for allegedly filing false health-benefit claims and pocketing the cash. However, the mayor and city officials would not say how much, saying it could jeopardize a police probe into the allegations, uncovered by the company that administers the city’s benefits, Manulife Financial. The report includes allegations that employees improperly cancelled parking tickets, worked $50,000 in “excessive overtime,” viewed pornography on city computers, wrongly recommended private contractors to homeowners and rented their own apartments to social-services recipients. Pressed by reporters, Mr. Miller said three of the employees facing allegations in the auditor-general’s report were terminated, one resigned, and another 10 were suspended without pay. Mr. Ford, like other members of the audit committee, received a confidential briefing on the punishments behind closed doors but was “severely warned” not to share what he learned. He accused the mayor of trying to keep a lid on the allegations and the city of being too soft on the accused employees: “It’s coming from the top.”

Known alcoholics on the job

  
The continual mismanagement, budget deficit, tax payer money abuses and has there been even any changes in all this really? We all  really still do need still a full  review of the waste, fraud, and abuse that has plagued governmental efforts. What is also needed is a enforced, real program to remove public officials from office that take our money and abuse it, spend it on their own false pet projects while many of our people still are not getting the help that they need. You also did notice the cops do too often still  not  practice what they preach to others they themselves still do like to speed, and how many like to drink and drive still too?
 

 
January 2004 was the start of my recent rash of my written correspondences mainly on the unacceptable  tax payers money abuses, injustices at the federal, provincial municipal levels too, as well, and it all  has specifically initially started because I had strongly, rightfully objected to anyone in the province of BC being kicked of social welfare, even if they are alcoholics, drug users… I still do rightfully and loudly  object to anyone being kicked of social welfare even in BC or elsewhere and this is still never acceptable. They all Civil and public servants, politicians, need to be regularly supervised too. That is why we need and have the auditors, News media, Opposition parties, concerned citizens to do this too.. and it still generally is not enough as we can see.
  
 
TWO OF MY PAST NEIGHBORS, MANAGERS,  WHO WORKED FOR CITY HALL OPENLY BOASTED TO ME, AND DEMONSTRATED TO ME FOR YEARS THE COMMON CORRUPTION IN THE LOCAL CITY HALL, DONE BY THEM AND MANY OF THEIR COLLEAGUES. This included their unnecessary out of town trips, their taking stuff, computer accessories,  home from the office for their own personal use, boasted of  their lavish expense accounts, of their doing personal work at the office, and much more. Why did they think that me a tax payer would approve any of such wrong doings was their error. I reported their wrong doings rightfully rather. OTHER MANAGERS OF CROWN CORORATIONS HAD ALSO OFTEN BOASTED TO ME OF THEM DOING SIMILAR THEFTS  AS WELL..
 
Now we had elected the new Conservatives , a new government and a leader that was supposed to be much better, different from all the so called past bad governments. A government that would be reliable, , it will be open, transparent, accountable, better managed, honest, and it would keep it’s pre-election  promises,  would not lie to us too, And next was that so in reality? NO!!! Unacceptable
 
The fish stinks from the head but many cut the tail of first..  Reducing, cutting of the programs to the poor and needy persons for  that seems how the governments wrongfully still do wrongfully  respond to budget cut backs,  defecits, and to the poor and needy people too now, rather than dealing still firstly with the major crooks, tax payer’s money abusers too in the government and elsewhere… 
Patrick Brazeau must have thought he had hit the jackpot last December when Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed him to the Senate. The young native leader (he is just 34) could conceivably draw a Senate salary (currently $130,000) for four decades. But with the appointment came a raft of unwanted publicity, including stories about: a charge of sexual harassment against him; questionable expense claims by the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples, of which he was national chief; drinking in the office; his flashy lifestyle, including a Porsche SUV; and, this week, his occasional failure to make child-support payments. In his first Senate speech this week, Brazeau said the media stories prove he has “powerful enemies” in the “native establishment.” Maybe so. Still, one wonders whether Brazeau was the most exemplary native leader Harper could have named to the Senate. Perhaps Harper was impressed by the fact that Brazeau is a card-carrying Conservative and sided with the government against the “native establishment” in the trashing of the 2005 Kelowna accord. How many people in reality even in the civil, public services governments now  have been arrested all together  for tax evasions and tax payers money abuse now last year? How many? Anyone care to answer the question?
  
And speaking of the related  federal review as well, who are the high spenders last year in the federal government.. who ate at the best restaurants, traveled the most at the tax payers restaurants.. who were the drunks now too..  Politicians, and civil and public servants now included too..  (Luke 6:43 KJV)  For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
 
Even in our governments, history tends to repeat itself, including thefts, waste and mismanagement, deficits, and they tend not to rather get better and why?
 
There are also plenty of places to try to save the tax payer’s money but starting to save the tax payer’s money at the expense of the poor people and their welfare programs is not the best  way to do this, not at all the way to do it!   The governments firstly should though clearly manage better it’s civil and public servants.. and the capital expenditures. Why? Well I do also know from real  experiences that it is also the services to the poor and needy persons, those who can afford it the least, that are wrongfully cut to make up for the past budget mismanagement by Ministers, managers of the civil and public servants too in Canada’s Provinces, Municipalities too. Rather than cutting back on the governmental aid, programs to  the poor and needy persons even next  because of the government’s own unacceptable past mismanagement we all do now too need to really take another continual look at how effective our tax dollars are always all of being used by the civil and public servants, and their managers, politicians now too. Cutting back on the Corporate welfare also is what the government still does also needs to deal with and not cutting firstly the Social welfare. The Corporations got what Billions  in social welfare from the tax payers? and we do not have money for the poor people? or for proper medical care, or for proper Justice, police, consumer protection  too? It never surprises me anymore when the superiors, Managers even  at City hall as well can also still  find money for new furniture, more staff, larger personal expense accounts but cannot find  the money to help the ordinary, poor and needy people during the good and bad times now too. Unacceptable.
  
The past “Sponsorship manager suffered from alcoholism, inquiry told   Jim Brown Canadian Press   October 19, 2004   OTTAWA — The role of a key player in the federal sponsorship program has been called into question with the disclosure that he suffered from alcoholism.  Pierre Tremblay served as chief of staff to former public works minister Alfonso Gagliano in the early years of the program. He later moved to the civil service where he took charge of bureaucratic operations related to sponsorship projects.  But colleague Isabelle Roy confirmed at a public inquiry Tuesday that, through it all, Tremblay had a serious drinking problem and often couldn’t function after lunch. ” and how many more are there unacceptably like him still, alcoholics  in the government, MP’s Cabinet Ministers, managers, civil and public servants too?
 
By now you too should have found out too the New Conservatives are mostly just as disgusting as the bad Liberals they had replaced..

How many times have we now experienced he fact that the selected leaders, cabinet was not like what they had promised they would be, certainly now not like we had expected them rightfully to be as well? Clearly many many  Canadians are still often now really angry at, or disappointed with   the results of the various governments acts,    the selected candidates,  but  now when will we all deal with the root  issue that is the cause of the problems firstly and it is the immoral type of candidates being firstly nominated?  the liars and alcoholics mostly it seems.. and these type of brain damaged people will never do us much good even now as well. 

We all need to care about the unemployed and the poor people, Elected officials now included. It also  seems even  the governments and it’s managers are too often rather still just for sale to the highest bidder… and it doesn’t care who they are involved with or what they are up to or what it looks like as long as they are rewarding themselves or  their friends, and thus they wrongfully and too tend  not too  really look after all of the good ordinary citizens welfare..  this is still never acceptable. They all Civil and public servants, politicians, need to be regularly supervised too. That is why we need and have the auditors, News media, Opposition parties, concerned citizens to do this too.. and it still generally is not enough as we can see.

It should be very clear to the honest New Testament Bible scholars that the Church of the New Testament was seriously concerned about the poor persons in their midst and helped them, and so should we all as well today.,, but many Evangelical churches in Canada wrongfully also still do not..
 
Making all of the poor people, social welfare recipients, those who can afford it the least, to pay for the sins of others is an immoral and  criminal act still. 
 
Furthermore here are thee, 3 things I know for sure in Canada the last 35 years
 
– It is not the poor people who have  mismanaged the majority of the tax payer’s money… but they do pay for it the most, those who can afford it the least
 
– if the public and civil servants had better managed the tax payer’s money there still would not  have been likely more money for the poor people cause the rich people would still try to steal it for themselves. I have met even covetous, greedy middle class and rich persons now too.
 
Thirdly  if all persons paid their taxes, and did not commit tax evasions, an ongoing major unacceptable sin that still do needs to be prosecuted there would be plenty of money for the poor people  assuming it could get to them without being stolen, intercepted again.

Fundamental evangelical pastors preach it is a sin for any Christian to drink alcohol, Liberal Christians such as Catholics or Eastern Orthodox church say it is not. But one thing no one can deny is how harmful drinking alcohol is.. in Russia 60 percent of men and women die due to drinking alcohol..

I was also very sad to note as to how many evangelical, Christian  pastors, politicians still do falsely approve of drinking alcohol even though their real Christian colleagues preach against it..

I still would rightfully rather see pastor first live a sermon instead of too often now merely preach it to others and I really do think it is so farcical how some sinfully, proud evangelical pastors are ready to condemn others, to gossip about, to now preach about the other person’s  sins but someone how they can’t seem to deal with their own false abuse of others, their own sins, and their own false pride. Sadly I have often been in bad Christian churches where the clearly crooked pastor to turn off attention off himself would bash some other churches, some other denominations and some other persons, but all that bashing of his now did not still deny his own sins and his own wrong doings though now. The Bad preacher are not the only ones who can preach about other people’s sins and demand others to repent, so can I, bad pastors now included and I rightfuly  do often as well.

 I have often also met in evangelical circles the despotic foremen,  dictatorial types, bully, jungle fighter   leaders, the same persons who think they are supreme over all others, they can take the law into their own hands, and even do what they want over any others, physically now as well. I have not totally now understood how these unacceptable, abusive slave drivers got to this personality stage or why they falsely think in their abusive pride they will get away with it forever now as well. Ironically the wolves in sheep clothing exist Canada wide, even in evangelical churches, political circles too now, and I guess for me telling the truth that is why so many of them hate me, do not hesitate to ban me or kick me out of their often also  bad churches now too..

  I had attended a recent comical church service,  New Beginnings Ministry 9412 Rue Clement Lasalle, QC H8R1T5 Phone: (514) 363-1080., a farcical circus, not the first time now too,  where Stéphane Chauvette Associate Pastor was preaching about everything, bashing everyone else, but somehow he could not keep his own promises, his  own word, or stay on a specific valid subject. And he made it clear if you  rock his boat he will next also kick you off the ship..  The  hypocritical, pretentious fundamental right winged evangelical pastor of this New Life Beginnings in LaSalle, Quebec  Preaches next openly  now  for us not to believe any of the news media and for us not to  have anything to do with any person who drinks wine, and to stand up against all of the people who do any wrong, to even openly speak to them, ( as long as it is not the pastor himself  for sure) and yet he lied and says come and talk to me your pastor after church. I am always really interested to hear from you about all of your concerns but  in reality when you do try to talk to him.. for next  I thus told him that our PM stephen Harper the supposedly good Christian now drinks beer/wine.. Tom Flanagan, a political scientist at the University of Calgary and Harper’s former campaign director and chief of staff said that Prime Minister Stephen Harper was his regularly beer drinking buddy. Others confirmed that Harper drinks wine and Beer such as even George Bush..   well  next the pastor really got upset at me..  since he himself cannot handle negative truths, he the ostrich no good pastor refused to further talk with me  and said  he was tired now, he  refuses to hear any of that, he refuses to believe any of that, for that is all gossip,  slanders, and also we do not allow anyone who causes disturbance, problems, gives any criticism in our church, so please leave now. So much for this supposedly Christ like church and their false professing Christian love, false brotherly love, their supposed openness now, and one’s free speech too..

Freedom of speech to many of these despotic, self centered, agenda oriented  preacher  is generally one way, they alone are allowed to do all of the talking, and no one else, everyone else is only allowed to listen is also what I have directly experienced here too. If you challenge what they say they falsely do immediately divorce you, even physically assault you and kick you out of the church now too.  The same pastor says he does not believe anything the news media writes at all. So who does he believe? only himself it seems and anyone else like minded. So what truth is he really now peddling, a distorted ones clearly. For the record, Stephen Harper Prime Minister of Canada himself now did  not even deny to me that he drinks beers and/or alcohol, or that he even gives presents of alcohol to others as well. So why do any of the others? Why did this pastor? One of the things I have found also so confounding is how many preachers can be filled with both truths and lies, falsehood, errors and how come? Why is that?   I was passing through the city of Chicago on the way to Winnipeg and I had decided to stop in a Pentecostal church, that I had read about in Christians magazines, books now too, this Church had regular Sunday services casting out demons out of Christians too. I was dismayed to  hear the preacher at a Sunday morning service also preach that the Russians had an army of tanks on the US border in Canada ready too invade the US, and most people there had next accepted this as the truth. Funny or sad  how so many people seem to be ready to believe gross lies over the truth, reality  from their leaders now even  in churches as well. For certainty I next saw no Russians tanks at the Canadian border when I drove on to Calgary Alberta as well.

Please do have the local LaSalle police remind the pastors, elders, members, adherents of this Pentecostal church that is is still illegal for the pastor or anyone else now there too to physically assault anyone, even if it is in their church. They may have a right to ask anyone to leave their premises, but as I have witnessed myself now they do not have a right to physically grab, lay hands, assault any person in their church even now too especially when he did nothing wrong.. That right is only for the police and is limited for them as well.. If someone next after being asked refuses to leave the church when asked they can call the police. I told them that I was glad to leave this church on my own free will and will be just as glad not to come back too.

In reality too the Cops themselves, RCMP included, now   are not the only one who resort to violence when their authority is threatened, so do some clearly bad, hot tempered evangelical  pastors now too..  I too before have already experienced in Canada  a  direct physical assault of me by  a rogue Pentecostal pastor who had punched me, physically assaulted me, with no provocation too,, in front of a witness, backed up with a police report , cause I had refused to go to his church. An another Pentecostal pastor and even a church elder,  were  attempting to physically abuse me to stop my public revelations of his unacceptable acts, thefts of money too. and the same thing had happened to my own brother on another occasion and he too had called the police and reported the matter who also had experience physical assault attempt  by a Plymouth Brethren pastor. But none of this should be a surprise when a pastor’s authority, financial security is threatened ehh..

Stephen Harper was elected based on his past promises of a new and better form of governing, openness, transparency and accountability.. none of these promises were kept next as well. Now if he  PM Stephen Harper now was  was so smart in the first place then  how come he could not even see the recession coming? or the coalition threat? Conservative Governments also tend to never spend wisely in the first place. Can they even be trusted firstly to next even keep their promises? So now can we even really trust the PM Stephen Harper and his Conservative government for sure next even when their budget  motivation is done in panic — due to Harper’s   near-death political experience forced on him by the opposition. Harper originally came into government promising to make it smaller and more efficient and is clearly willing to sell all of his principles to stay in power at all costs. Foolishly Merely Giving away money, or going into a large deficit,  themselves are  not a sure way to revive the economy.

McGuinty’s move follows the revelations employees at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp expensed items such as a $3,713.77 dinner for 38 people that included more than 10 bottles of wine and other alcohol. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.’s 10 highest-paid employees expensed at least $2,533 on alcohol between January, 2007, and December, 2008. A sales and marketing meeting at the Keg resulted in a $260 liquor tab; 38 people at a pre- Sound of Music business dinner drank $885 worth of alcoholic beverages. Any hospitality event at which alcohol was served would have to receive prior approval. The same provincial public-service rules also require written approval before all out-of-province travel, rarely evident in the documents the province made public this week. It all now still reveals a culture of acceptability that is inappropriate in a recession and in any Crown environment. The past provincial directive, which has been in place since 2004, states that “reimbursement of meal costs must not include the reimbursement for any alcoholic beverages.” The Ontario Liberals have also ordered a review of the 600 provincial agencies, boards and commissions to root out spending abuses. New Democrat Leader Andrea Horwath said the added layer of scrutiny doesn’t assuage concerns about widespread illicit spending among government agencies. NOW WHAT ABOUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?

I am also now outraged over Conservatives travel expenses. “We should be outraged over travel expenses.. Toronto Star published a story on Nov. 22 detailing what appeared to be exorbitant travel expenses for federal government cabinet ministers and some public servants. Firstly Considering the state of the economy at this time and the fact the federal government will be returning to deficit financing, it should not only be encouraging federal travellers to fly economy class but insist on it.  The Star said its investigation found spending by ministers, political staff and bureaucrats to be far from the frugal image of the Harper government. “Some federal travellers can’t seem to get to London, England, for less than $6,000, even though economy seats were available for $1,000 to $2,000,” the Star said. “In our analysis of 60,000 travel records over four years, we found $18,000 flights to Australia, $7,000 flights to Paris, $11,000 flights to Indonesia and $8,000 flights to Switzerland.  The Alberta environment minister and an aide spent $3,200 each to fly to Bali for a United Nations conference on climate change. Former federal environment minister John Baird spent $10,920 for a flight to the same conference. Add in three political aides and two bureaucrats at similar rates and the total airfare cost to the Canadian taxpayer was $61,000.  The Star said it found that Harper’s ministers often travel with a large entourage at high cost.   The Star said it found that while both had been big spenders, “most Conservative ministers spent slightly more than the Liberals they once accused of being lavish spenders.”  However, Tony Clement wasn’t one of them. The then-Conservative health minister travelled economy to Kenya and Tanzania to visit health clinics and deliver a $150,000 government cheque. However, the whole trip wasn’t done on the cheap. The federal government should take immediate action to control interest rates and fees on consumer credit cards because those climbing costs are choking consumers and businesses amid the deepening recession, says Senator Pierrette Ringuette. Ringuette, a Liberal from New Brunswick, argues the upcoming federal budget is a golden opportunity for Conservative Finance Minister Jim Flaherty to tackle the controversial issue of regulation.  Caps on interest and other fees are firmly on the political agenda in other countries. But with no clear sign that such measures are in the works here, Ringuette is urging members of the upper chamber to champion the cause. As Flaherty unveils his budget in the lower house on Tuesday, Ringuette will lay the groundwork to revive a motion for the Standing Senate Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce to probe Canada’s credit card and debit card systems. In addition to scrutinizing consumer rates, she wants to examine other behind-the-scenes charges including interchange and merchant discount rates. “Canadians must be boiling mad right now because nobody is paying attention to the consumer,” Ringuette said. Tom Flanagan, a former Harper campaign organizer and strategist, said Harper has transformed from a conservative ideologue to a political survivor, but remains a victim of his own dark side. “Both sides are real … but what you see more and more is the political Harper,” said Flanagan, author of the acclaimed Harper’s Team: Behind the Scenes in the Conservative Rise to Power.

Gerry Nicholls of the conservative online portal Libertas Post says Harper caters to “populist conservative” values such the family, the military and criminal justice – but avoids the issues of individual freedom, smaller government and balanced books.

Flanagan said the “Machiavellian” side is far more troubling than his political transformation, given that it almost cost him his government. “He lost the initiative by provoking the other parties into this potential coalition against him … and now he finds himself having to put together a budget which is really a coalition budget … the government’s hand is fairly weak right now.”” Toronto Star

Harper also accused of ditching principles to keep power. The same person  who revered his conservative ideology is clearly now he’s sacrificing it for political expediency. From the Senate to fixed-date elections , government appointments, defecits,  Prime Minister Stephen Harper has sent  his political principles into the waste bin.  “”We will not be running a deficit. Prime Minister Stephen Harper also has broken with traditional budget secrecy, revealing nearly $6-billion in spending plans over the past three days…     This from a prime minister who just months ago vowed there would be no deficit. The Tories are planning to run deficits totalling $64-billion over the next two fiscal years, including $34-billion in the first year and $30-billion in the second. Other spending announced in recent days:
$1.5-billion in funding to boost training for laid-off workers including even those who are ineligible for Employment Insurance
$500-million in targeted support for older workers
$1-billion in funding for renovating social housing
$600-million for on-reserve aboriginal housing
$400-million for seniors’ housing
$75-million for housing for people with disabilities
$1-billion community adjustment fund for single-industry and resource towns hardest hit by this economic crisis (forestry, mining and agriculture communities). This national fund would have flexible criteria for applicants in order to help their communities adjust to the changing economic climate
$160-million for new investments in arts and culture
$150-million in forestry industry aid, including more than $100-million to develop new uses for forest products and $50-million to help promote the industry abroad as environmentally responsible
$550-million for farmers, including half a billion to help adjust to tough times and $50-million to expand slaughterhouse capacity
I have often heard it said that most Canadians Canada wide now are still like fearful sheep they are too ready to be fleeced, sadly it also seems they must have ostrich genes in them for when you present negative truths they tend to often rather bury their heads in the sand as well it  seems.. especially in in too many of the evangelical churches.. or  the ostrich sheep in Alberta who also now too often seem to think no Conservative politician can ever do any wrong rather it has to be the other bad guys, you know the liberals. ** The Pastor had said that God does not let us to talk to anyone who drinks wine, but this is a rather distorted, extreme interpretation of the Bible, The Bible clearly says WE ARE NOT TO FELLOWSHIP WITH A CHRISTIAN PERSONS WHO GETS DRUNK.. now that is really different from not talking to any of the people who drink wine.. and why is this pastor so ready not to talk with others now too? so ready to smite them, to kick them out of church? If you have love for someone you are willing to talk with them, but if you do not have love for them, especially if, when you know they do not support you, do not agree with your presentation, do not agree  with your point of view, you as a pastor too no can personally can instead  refuse to love them, you refuse to talk to them, you find any excuse to reject, ostracize, divorce them basically to deny, to cover up the unacceptable reality that you yourself the pastor actually do not have any love for them.

Only the US cops drive drunk now?

An off-duty cop slammed his car into the front of Tiffany’s flagship Fifth Avenue store at 3 a.m.  in a crash that investigators suspect may have been alcohol related, police sources said.  The car – with the officer behind the wheel – plowed into a garbage truck at the corner of 57th St. and Fifth Ave. before careening onto the sidewalk at 3 a.m.,   The impact was strong enough that the three occupants had to be cut out of the vehicle. While there is no way of knowing exactly the real number of drunk drivers on the road every day — police can’t be catching them  at all times, if they are certainly not trying too but instead are wrongfully spending their time and energy on revenue generating speeding tickets. Yes impaired driving is everyone’s business and  all citizens who see erratic, unsafe and suspected impaired driving need to call police on the 911 line. Police can’t be everywhere at all times, but they should respond  fast and effectively when alerted. And simply lower the allowed blood alcohol limit to the chosen point at which drivers are deemed no longer any danger and showing no tolerance for drunk drivers

Not only are so many of our civil and public servants bad examples, even alcoholics now too, but the Governments, Police are too soft on alcoholics too. 6 times more persons are killed by drunk driving over speeding at least. Many drunk drivers are only prosecuted by the police npw still only mainly two months of the year, December, January and those who drunls who have lost their license to drive a car next the majority of them keep driving without a license next anyway.

Provincial governments in Canada are making record breaking profits by encouraging the citizens to consume even more  alcohol, beer and are making even  more even by the  taxation of these products. They should not be  encouraging the citizens to do so.
