And it can be drugs, booze, sex, or your wife, son , daughter, a persons, car,  self, even your church, your pastor, your denomination, your own doctrines, beliefs, your culture, nationality … for we all had or  have a god shaped vacuum in our life.. but  filling it with extremes or  false substitutes, junk will never be acceptable to God.  I  conclude that God never uses the word chosen to refer to Israel IN THE NEW TESTAMENT and how do you define chosen? chosen for what? The Christians in the New Testament have replaced the chosen Jews of the Old Testament in reality NOW TOO. WHAT SOME THEY STILL  CANNOT UNDERSTAND, SEE THIS AND WHY? .. ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE IN DENIAL WHO CANNOT ADMIT EVEN ANY Jewish WRONG DOINGS, SINS NOW THEY ARE IN A FALSE DENIAL STILL TOO

 

Not just in Churches, amongst the police, politicians, civil and public servants, but I have never seem so many lying, mental people in one place like I have amongst the medical workers I have dealt with this year in  in Hospitals, convalescent, old age homes who really do delude themselves too often about their self importance and the positive role they are functioning in.  When a  professional cannot see what they are doing now is simply  so wrong they themselves do now need real professional help too.

 

The People who lie often, the  professionals now included, they tend to have severe personal,  mental disorders next cause one tends to eventually believe next ones lies as being the truth, and they can no no longer differentiate their own lies from reality, the truth.

  

Narcissistic, selfish, self centered  Mental Disorders too evident now even in many of the so called medical Professionals leads  these persons to  dwell in self-absorption, fantasy, illusion, where she or he has exaggerated claims to talents, importance, or specialness,  manifesting evidence  of a need for constant admiration from others,  a lack of empathy for all others, persistent in this too,  have rigid personality traits and coping styles, clearly  inflexible, do show a  hypersensitivity to any criticism , defeat or  negative realities thus they rather  are pathological in  denial by the their falsity, contrived replacement of the truths which they still must  face eventually .  These SEVERE PERSONALITY disorders are generally personally ongoing too leading to more impaired social and/or occupational functioning and can make it difficult to pinpoint a clear dividing line between their  pathology and their so called normality. Most of these people with their personality disorders may not perceive that there is anything wrong with their behavior and thus they are not motivated to change it. It is important to note that these  personality disorders are considered to have their onset in late adolescence or early adulthood and they alone are responsible for it too.  

 

Denial, it is very very common when many an individual, even amongst so called professionals, even in pastors now included,  are openly confronted with their own wrong doings, that they resort to a false denial. When confronted with the truth the denier they  often respond with a similar personal counter attack remark as   ”you are crazy”.  “I reject your reality… and substitute my own.”  Their false denial, diversion, distortion does not change the negative reality about themselves still though.  Sadly it is a negative natural human tendency to devolve into denial.”    It’s not just a moral compass that’s lacking, but the ability to honest, or to stand apart. Denial often comes out of a false pride, a fear of being openly exposed as being wrong. Denial is a false convenient escape, excuse for inaction  for persons now  facing a situation that requires a decision or action that conflicts with his or her established past policy. Denial too often can be  further disastrous upon themselves and others.. for denial is not seeing data at all or seeing it and coming to an erroneous conclusion within oneself. One’s false denial is often based on a false assumption  of one’s past great success and often precedes their own severe personal failure next due to a personal disconnect with real life. Types of Denial include now the Denial of fact: This form of denial is where someone avoids a fact by lying. This lying can take the form of an outright falsehood (commission), leaving out certain details in order to tailor a story (omission), This form of denial involves avoiding personal responsibility by blaming, minimizing or justifying.   Denial of responsibility:  Denial of impact: avoiding thinking about or understanding the harms their behavior have caused to themselves or others.  Denial of awareness: they do not admit any previous awareness of the negative reality.  Denial of cycle: Denial of cycle is where a person avoids looking at their decisions leading up to an event or does not consider their pattern of decision making and how harmful behavior is repeated. Denial of denial:  This latter form of denial typically overlaps with all of the other forms of denial, but involves more self-delusion. People in a false denial are really nuts, delusional.. 

There are tools and practices that we can implement to overcome the psychological trap of denial. Public exposure and prosecution of the guilty is one of the best approach serving everyone’s best interest too. It is a clearly established fact with good basis as to why our Canadian leaders, politicians, police, military, public and civil servants  who are always to be exemplary are even personally are to held to a higher standard, accountability in reality.

People in leadership office do have to face higher penalties as an example now too. It is clearly established, accepted fact by most people that those in leadership civil and public servants cops, teachers, ministers, politicians included  are always to be exemplary in behavior,  conduct and they do need to maintain their high standards even out of their working hours, thus to do so they are also to be exemplary  judged, prosecuted  for their own wrong doings with a higher standard over those of us ordinary folks.

Israel as we all can know still tends to use Disproportionate force to deal with any aggressor, wrongs.   Israel’s  air strikes,  savagery, Targeting civilians, aimed directly at civilian areas in the Middle East has been one of their most immoral, cruelest, unjustifiable acts too now.

The Israeli military is considering bringing charges against a soldier suspected of shooting dead two women who were waving white flags during the Gaza war, the army said on Wednesday.  If charges are filed, it would be the first prosecution of an Israeli soldier for killing civilians during the 22-day war, which was launched in December 2008 and killed around 1,400 Palestinians and 13 Israelis. The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights said 1,417 Palestinians were killed in the operation, of which 926 were civilians — including 313 children and 116 women.

Israeli human rights group B’tselem, which first reported the killings, said the soldier is believed to have opened fire without provocation on a group of some 30 civilians, killing Riyeh Abu Hajaj, 64, and her daughter Majda Abu Hajaj, 37, from the Juher a-Dik neighbourhood in Gaza City. A UN report heaped condemnation on Israel for the high number of civilian deaths during the operation, which was launched in a bid to stop the almost-daily barrage of rocket fire across the border. It also accused Gaza’s Hamas rulers of committing war crimes during the fighting. Thus for almost the first time since the establishment of Israel in 1948 the Israeli government is facing serious world wide allegations of war crimes from respected public figures throughout the world.

 A Jewish rabbi has issued a book giving Jews permission to murder non-Jews, including babies and children, who may pose an actual or potential threat to Jews or Israel. “It is permissible to kill the Righteous among non-Jews even if they are not responsible for the threatening situation,” Rabbi Yitzhak Shapiro, who heads the Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in the Yitzhar settlement in the occupied West Bank, wrote in his book “The King’s Torah.”

Israel is entering another period of valid international condemnation. 

President Obama pushed Israel to stop settlement construction and signed a resolution calling for Israel to join the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.   Gaza now is one big concentration camp. And criticizing Israel’s policies and practices is not  the same as anti-Semitism. World hostility toward Israel is largely an expression of international exasperation that continued  conflict with the Palestinians  lasts so long. The Israeli President Shimon Peres says the Gaza blockade was put in place to protect the Jewish state from terrorism,  but  in reality it has caused the escalation of more terrorism, Israel’s bad policing have aggravated the Palestinian terrorism and not rather helped to reduce it. Israel’s aggressive policy, collective punishment   that  creates an inhumane situation by the the economic embargo over the last three years on the Gaza Strip has for sure not yielded the results the government expected, Jews have only one goal in mind, to kick out all Palestinians out.  Israel has increased in size 10 times.  And local officials on Tuesday even gave preliminary approval to a plan calling for the demolition of 22 Palestinian homes,   an echo of past  unacceptable Jewish development in East Jerusalem. in Silwan, the mayor wants to build an archaeological park and retail center over the site of 22 Arab homes.  Israel annexed East Jerusalem after the 1967 war, a move that was not even recognized internationally. Palestinians are predominate in the area and claim it as their future capital. They view efforts by Israel to increase the Jewish presence there as hostile acts that thwarts any possible Israel roads to peace.

There are clearly different ways at looking at the  world wide fight against terrorism, depending mostly it seems on your own nationality , personal and  religious beliefs. Is it as some do claim a money pit with no end objective in sight of being accomplished or is it a rightful, action, reaction to the world wide terrorists plots?  We all certainly   have  not “created” the past, present, future Muslim terrorist threats to our own security.

The  world wide fight against terrorism and not tourists  note,  is a real one for  there are still currently even  many, numerous Islamic extremists detained who have sought to  simultaneously detonate bombs on planes over the Atlantic, emulate 7/7 with further simultaneous attacks in London and blow up planes with explosives concealed in shoes.

Part of this war includes the reality that the US President Barack Obama has approved $2,775 billion in military aid to Israel, an overview of the US assistance to Israel shows that the US funding is a significant portion of Israel’s military budget, which amounted to $13.3 billion in 2008. The US used to provide both military and civilian aid, but it has since been merged entirely into military aid at Israel’s request. In addition to military aid, the US also provides $3.15 billion in loan guarantees to Israel.  Obama   continues the decades-old policy of extending unlimited support for Israel. Some say he should pursue a more even-handed approach to the Arab-Israeli conflict. And what does that mean now  men? Give the terrorists more money so they too now can buy more guns? There is a real need to subvert terrorism at every level, but is invading other countries the correct way to do this? or what is the valid alternative available? Some say by this approach we are in danger of becoming them, of being what they the terrorist  wish us to be, as bad as them?  Are we safer as a result of Afghanistan and Iraq ?

In reality  the US and UK were Islamic extremist targets before 9/11 so to that end so the rest of the world too  have not ‘created’ the Muslim terrorists threat we now face. For have many   established and have unfailingly supported Israel, regardless of the barbarity of its also unacceptable  behavior in pursuit of it’s own defense? And is our fighting the Taliban and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan is the main  thing that will prevent any more  terrorist attacks? it seems so?

24 December 1994 – Air France Flight 8969 hijacking in Algiers by 3 members of Armed Islamic Group of Algeria and another terrorist. 7 killed including 4 hijackers.

25 June 1996 – Khobar Towers bombing, 20 killed, 372 wounded.

14 February 1998. The 1998 Coimbatore bombings occurred in the city of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. 46 people were killed and over 200 were injured in 13 bomb attacks within a 12 km radius.

7 August 1998 – 1998 United States embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya. 224 dead. 4000+ injured.

4 September 1999 – A series of bombing attacks in several cities of Russia, kills near 300 people.

12 October 2000 – Attack on the USS cole in the Yemeni port of Aden.

Furthermore is the armed  presence in Iraq and Afghanistan is it a serious a factor which contributed to the radicalization of young Muslims in this country and abroad as well? or where the young Muslims already headed that way even? I  too do tend to get quickly upset about lying pastors, bad Ministers and visible injustice, so much I rightfully to cannot shut up about it.

 I am clearly a Democrat- Liberal Party supporter  over supporting the Conservative Party and I still do rightfully believe in God, but  I gave up supporting the lying, hypocritical, Pharisaical Conservative party. It was also very clear to me that Sarah Palin’s family did not live what she herself had preached to the others too.

  

Historically, Canada’s Jewish voters have stood with the Liberal party, voting for it at a rate 20 per cent higher than the national average during the 1970s. However, that support fell to 8 to 10 per cent above the average in the years leading up to Harper’s first minority government in 2006.

Clearly some people falsely DO DISALLOW THIS RIGHT… the bad persons especially as even I know this for sure. They respond with a personal attack, inquisition, censorship, lies, slanders, diversions, distortions, instead of facing, dealing with the facts, truths being presented. Confirming to many what they still are really like, immoral, abusive bullies.

When I see this kind of unacceptable personal behavior I too do not accept it but do loudly object to it to all and do ask these hate mongrels be immediately fired, put in jail as well. No matter who they are now too.

It likely has a lot to do with Calgary’s past history and cultural non mixing population make up.. Mormons, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Evangelicals, Mennonites, Germans, Ukrainians.. Calgary’s history includes wild west rustlers.  Most people in Alberta are eastern arrivals for only the natives are the originals.. who mow still wrongfully often are despised too. Vey few Black  or Asian people – Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.,  in the first place in Alberta as well.. Most people do not have main relatives, senior parents in Alberta.. and the only part of the town I found was friendly was Calgary NW… Most Calgarian churches are not mixed now as well.. segregated rather.. First RCMP post too. 1/4 of hate crimes in Canada  at least  are directed at Aboriginal people and Calgary is no exception here ..

As a professional, University graduate I now  was always solely responsible for my work output, no one told me how to do it too, I had always worked on my own with minimum supervision. I step into a church, in many or most churches I am treated as if I am now in pre school generally, I am immediately given a whole bunch of rules, even as to where I can sit, what I can wear, how much money I should give to the church, what I can do and cannot do etc.. mostly a totally demonic, controlling, dominating environment, so much so that  I rightfully often think that  the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ themselves are not allowed to express themselves, not given freedom to manifest themselves too. The church’s moderator, Rev. David Giuliano,   noted once they have been brought forward by one of the church’s 13 regions, they must be debated.  “We’re a church that debates these things in the open  ,” Giuliano said. Giuliano acknowledged the proposals “at face value, are quite offensive to some people in the Jewish community because of the implications for Israel  “  So is Jesus Christ! I did not even know that the church is doing something morally respectful like this. I am proud to be member of a courageous church like this. If the church back down because of the threat from Jewish then all who are at the meeting should question their own soul if they are messenger of god or cowards who can be bullied to save their self-interest. Nobody should tell them what to do if they believe it is the right thing to do then they have to do it. I recently watched a clip where Palestinians evicted from a house they were living in since before the creation of Israel and the house given to Jews. What did Hitler do to the Jews…confiscate their property and made them homeless. They are doing the same to Palestinians. It is not just the right thing for the church to stand up against injustice and unpopular actions but there will be a day they will be questioned as we are questioning today; why the Catholic church stood by and let Hitler do all those injustices.  Yes, God was ready to give them the land that he promised to Abraham,  Isaac, and Jacob (Deut. 9:5), but it was conditional upon the people’s obeying God.  Even to Abraham and his seed was given the condition of obedience   (Gen 17:9 KJV)  And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.

 

Joshua 1:1-9 concerning this, and in verse 4, he was told the extent of the land:  From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river,     the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great   sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

 

The readers should also take note of the condition given in verse 3 of this  passage:  Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have  I given you, as I said unto Moses. Joshua 1:7-9. Note especially  verse 8:  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou   shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: FOR THEN THOU SHALT  MAKE  THY  WAY  PROSPEROUS,  AND  THEN  THOU  SHALT  HAVE GOOD SUCCESS,  Joshua’s conquests continued in chapter 11, and in verse 23 we are told  “Joshua took the whole land.”  Some would cite this as showing that nothing  was left that needed to be conquered.  However, in context, the term “whole  land” refers to that land which Joshua had done battle against.  thus the “whole land” included only those lands conquered to this point, which accord- ing to Joshua 12:7 stretched from Lebanon to Edom.  At this time, they  rested from war and divided the land. ( Josh. 13:6). In  Joshua’s final charge to the people, he reminded them of the condition for  possession:

As Judges 1 shows, the children of Israel did not conquer all their possessions.  Judges 2:1-5 explains why.  Note the following:  And an angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and  said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never  break my covenant with you.  And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: BUT YE     HAVE NOT OBEYED MY VOICE: why have ye done this?  Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.

It is obvious that the Israelites made leagues with these people and quit fighting.  Thus, they violated all conditions set forth by God: (1) they quit  “walking” (Josh. 1:3), (2) they made pacts with the enemy (Deut. 7:2), and  (3) they disobeyed God’s commands (Deut. 8:1).  Therefore, these people  could not fulfill all of what God wanted done. “

 People also do still lie when they say the land was given unconditionally to Israel.. God said he would not break his promises, but the people had to live up to their part still.

 

But this is a matter of Israel’s individual salvation and  a matter of them still converting to the inclusive  Gentile  brand of Christendom,  not is it a matter of God’s activity in  history when the nation of Israel distinctly shall once again, as in the days of  blessing in the past, experience the fill blessing and joy of God  spiritually, materially, geographically, and politically.  There is no he promise of the land to the  nation of Israel here..

Athanasios Hadjis ruled Wednesday that section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act violates Charter protections. While this decision doesn’t throw out the law – that’s something for the courts – it did let accused hatemonger Marc Lemire off the hook, because Hadjis refused to penalize him or order him to stop posting his messages on the net. on his site.   Lemire was accused of posting anti-Semitic and anti-gay material on web sites in a complaint brought by Ottawa lawyer Richard Warman. Warman has become an Internet watchdog for such material and the main section 13 complainant before the tribunal. He had asked for a cease-and-desist order against Lemire and a $7,500 fine. Canadian Jewish Congress was quick to call for an appeal of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal member   Hadjis ruling. “We strongly disagree with his decision not to impose a cease-and-desist order,” said Joel Richler, an honorary legal counsel to the congress.  The congress said other tribunal members have found the section to be constitutional and the courts should be asked to clarify the matter.

The Ruling from a Canadian Human Rights Tribunal member says a controversial law banning Internet hate messages is unconstitutional because it violates free speech protections. Refrence the human rights act section 13.1, which says it is a violation to disseminate material on the Internet that is “likely to expose a person or persons to hatred or contempt”  If the example is followed by other tribunal members, it could mean an end to section 13 cases.  In a special report issued in June, the commission asked Parliament to change the law to eliminate the fines and provide a clear, legal definition of what constitutes prohibited hatred. The section has been controversial, with some claiming it spreads too wide a net. The Supreme Court of Canada has said legal action should be reserved only for the most extreme forms of hate.   None of this in any way affects the hate-speech provisions of the Canadian Criminal Code which is completely different legislation, with higher standards of proof and evidence .  Hate accusations can be also  filed with the Canadian Human Rights Commission. If it finds them valid, they are then taken before the tribunal, which can order people to stop posting material on the web or impose fines of up to $10,000.

The great Apostle Paul now had much to say about this in his letters to the early church. Have you firstly been Baptized with the Holy Spirit as evidenced by you now also personally in speaking in tongues, otherwise you are not even a real Christian to start of with. Rejecting any of the Gifts of the Holy Spiirt, especially the Gift of speaking in national languages (Grk: 1 Cor. 12: 10) is at the least a subconscious or conscious rejection of God’s daily communications system to you.

Through Christ Jesus and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit God has made provision that each born again person can be Baptized with the same Holy Spirit that Jesus was and operate in the gifts of the Spirit just like Jesus did!

‘The most moral army in the world’ killed civilians without cause’ JERUSALEM–Israeli soldiers killed unarmed Palestinian civilians without provocation or warning and vandalized their property during this country’s January offensive in Gaza, say some of the soldiers who fought there. In one incident, Israeli soldiers apparently herded a Palestinian family into a single room of their house and left them there, while the troops took positions upstairs and also set up a sniper’s post on the roof. Several days later, soldiers instructed the family to leave the house, directing them to depart the area by heading to the right. They neglected to inform the sharpshooter on the roof what they were doing. One mother and her two children mistakenly turned to the left and were promptly shot dead by the rooftop sniper. “He shot them straight away,” the squad leader said during the college discussion. “I don’t think he felt too bad about it, because, after all, as far as he was concerned, he did his job according to the orders he was given.” The same squad leader reported a general attitude of contempt for Palestinian civilians, a mindset that enabled Israeli soldiers to engage in callous or sometimes lethal behaviour. “I don’t know how to describe it,” he said. “The lives of Palestinians, let’s say, is something very, very less important than the lives of our soldiers.  “So, as far as they are concerned, they can justify it that way.”  In another incident, a company commander is said to have ordered his troops to shoot and kill an elderly woman walking past them at a distance of about 100 metres.  You do not get the impression from the officers that there is any logic to it – to write `Death to the Arabs’ on the walls, to take family pictures and spit on them, just because you can,” said a squad leader who opposed the order.  Oher soldiers described widespread abuses of property. “We would throw everything out the windows to make room and order,” said one soldier.  Everything in the house was tossed out the windows – refrigerators, plates, furniture. The order was to throw all of the house’s contents outside.” Human rights groups have harshly criticized the Israeli military for its conduct of the war in Gaza – including the use of white phosphorus, a chemical harmful to humans – but the reports published here yesterday were the first documented accounts by Israeli soldiers themselves about widespread abuses. According to the most recent Palestinian figures, 1,417 Gazans died during the three-week conflict, more than 920 of them civilians.  At least one Israeli organization, the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism, puts the civilian death toll much lower. The Palestinian Center for Human Rights, which conducted a survey of casualties, says a total of 1,417 people were killed, including 926 civilians during the 22-day offensive. “Shoot and don’t worry about the consequences,” was the message from the top commanders, he said. Speaking of a lieutenant colonel who briefed the troops, Mr. Marmor said, “His whole demeanor was extremely gung ho. This is very, very different from my usual experience. I have been doing reserve duty for 12 years, and it was always an issue how to avoid causing civilian injuries. He said in this operation we are not taking any chances. Morality aside, we have to do our job. a squad commander was quoted as saying: “What’s great about Gaza — you see a person on a path, he doesn’t have to be armed, you can simply shoot him. In our case it was an old woman on whom I did not see any weapon when I looked. The order was to take down the person, this woman, the minute you see her. The Exemplary Public exposure and prosecution of the unrepentant  guilty persons serves everyone’s best interest

So still now  what really is needed  firstly is not more CHEAP, PRETENTIOUS  self regulations,   the supposed discipline of their members , or even their ensuring their education, but real INSPECTIONS, EFFECTIVENESS , competency testing. 

 For it is a fact that anything that will put a self regulating body or a Ministry into a negative light will have a built in  tendency still to be denied,   suppressed, minimized in reality, to be ineffective .  

 There in reality is the main  one important step that all consumers can take to protect themselves from any unscrupulous persons  and that is enforced, exemplary public exposure and prosecution of the supposedly guilty persons by a recognized judicial public body,  and so now how many such bad persons now have really been exposed, prosecuted in the last few years in reality too by the responsible Ministers as well?  None? and why not?   

 

Exemplary Public exposure and prosecution of the guilty serves very ones best interest… too often still missing in the PROFESSIONAL BODIES, EVEN IN THE RCMP, police   forces, churches, ALL GOVERNMENTS  as well it seems too.

First you merely ask the guilty, bad persons personally to repent twice, the first time without a witness, the second time with witnesses THAT you have asked them to repent.. and   proof, substantiation is NOT required.. after you have done that you can next post it openly on the net, tell all the others.

 

Next God is fully free to deal with the unrepentant guilty offenders and believe me he will.. I have now been doing for decades too..

We ALSO do  still need to understand, define what UNACCEPTABLE abuse and what UNACCEPTABLE hate is, and unacceptable abuse is to  deny a person’s legal, human rights, and hate is the clear opposite of love, meaning an unloving act.. Hate and  Verbal abuse unrestrained often next do lead to physical abuse in reality too.  And both hate and verbal, physical abuses are  all unacceptable at all times too no matter who you are or who you think you are too. .

 

but honestly critiquing  NOW certain individuals for their own unacceptable bad act is not always HATE. .

 

It is a false statement that if one makes any negative statement about anyone, Jews, Muslims, Arabs, white or black, Asian people, natives , etc., that one is  a racist or promoting hatred.. maybe one is merely exercising one’s appropriate right of free speech, thought..

 

Now I had witnessed a Person committing immoral, illegal acts many times and when I rightfully reported it next to to the proper authorities, the clearly  guilty  person next  had distorted the truths and lying had said I was promoting hatred towards him and his family, which clearly now was not so. I was a witness of the immoral acts still, unacceptable wrong doings. 

 

Also I do not believe that everyone sets out to be a deliberate racist, it seems to be often merely a poorly thought out stupid mistake for 70 percent of the persons who do it, and many people once they realize what they have done next do even admit their errors and stop it, unfortunately there are the remaining few hate mongers who still do get carried away with their hatred, sins, who need to be incarcerated for their crimes so they can stop and learn not to do it..

“Canadian leaders back Israel as Harper stays silent on Gaza By Shadi Elien

In the nearly two weeks since Israel began its latest air strikes in Gaza, humanitarian groups and activists around the world have condemned Israel’s actions and called for a ceasefire. Meanwhile, many Canadian politicians appear to condone the offensive route being taken by Israel.

Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon has spoken on behalf of the Conservative government in regards to Canada’s position on the conflict. In a statement released on December 27, Cannon said: “Israel has a clear right to defend itself against the continued rocket attacks by Palestinian militant groups which have deliberately targeted civilians.” He urged both sides to create conditions that would allow humanitarian aide to be accessed by those who need it in Gaza but insisted that “first and foremost those rocket attacks must stop”.

Israel’s attacks on the densely populated Gaza Strip began on December 26, and escalated into a ground offensive on January 3. The number of Palestinians killed and injured continues to grow each day. According to BBC News, at least 683 have been killed and more than 3,085 injured.

Forty people were killed and 55 were injured yesterday (January 6) when Israeli mortar fire struck the UN-run al-Fakhura school in the Jabaliya refugee camp.

Canada’s junior foreign minister, Peter Kent, commented on the strike in an interview this week with the Globe and Mail, stating that Hamas “bears the full responsibility for the deepening humanitarian tragedy”. Despite the lack of information available from Gaza, due to an Israeli ban on journalists entering the war-torn territory, Kent insisted that Hamas is the root cause of the civilian fatalities.

“We really don’t have complete details yet, other than the fact that we know that Hamas has made a habit of using civilians and civilian infrastructure as shields for their terrorist activities, and that would seem to be the case again today,” he said.

Some members of Parliament have not been as quick to blame Hamas for the deaths. In an open letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper dated yesterday, Vancouver East MP Libby Davies urged the Canadian government to condemn the attacks and demand an immediate ceasefire.

“The lack of leadership from the Canadian government is shameful in the face of such events,” Davies stated.

Davies said she has received many messages from her constituents who were “outraged that Canada has done nothing”.

The Foreign Affairs Department had tried to help 36 Canadians leave the region on January 5, but the Israeli Defence Force, which controls movement in the area, stopped the operation. Speaking after a government caucus meeting, Cannon stated that security measures prevented them from helping those who wanted to return to Canada safely, according to the Canadian Press.

Today, Canada donated $4 million toward the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, giving $3 million to the United Nations relief effort and another $1 million to the Red Cross, according to CP.

The leader of the Opposition, Michael Ignatieff, also released a statement concurring with the view of the Conservatives and the majority of western politicians.

“The Liberal Party of Canada unequivocally condemns the rocket attacks launched by Hamas against Israeli civilians and calls for an immediate end to their attacks,” Ignatieff stated on December 29.

He called for Canada to provide humanitarian aid but held firm on his stance that Israel has the right to defend itself against the attacks.

As of today, no official statements have been made by Harper on the matter, who has remained quiet on the conflict in Gaza.

Many true evangelicals do now support a two-state solution and creation of a new Palestinian state that includes the vast majority of the West Bank.  They support justice for both Israelis and Palestinians.  If all of the  learned men are going to be truly historically honest, surely they must admit that the Jews have every right to inhabit the land of their fathers, the covenant land given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob by none other than God himself and admit that right was the same God who took them next away from that land now twice too… THE NEW TESTAMENT DOES NOT talk about the Jews return next to it too. But God still wants the Jews and Palestinians brothers to live in peace together.
