The major news this week..

I am not trying to get your interest with sensationalized one line headers, spin doctoring, or politically correct, pretentious, crowd pleasing  writings, but merely by telling you the undeniable truth as I  see it, others wrote about it too. If you want to be lied to there are many sites who will do that for you but one day you still will have to face the reality, the truth.

According to Statistics Canada, Alberta experienced the largest job losses in the country. The federal agency reported Friday that employment in Alberta decreased by 15,000 last month, pushing the unemployment rate up 0.4 percentage points to 7.5 per cent, up from 7.1 per cent in September and 3.7 per cent a year ago. Since October 2008, Alberta’s employment has fallen by 3.3 per cent, or 68,000 jobs, the steepest rate of decline among all provinces.

OTTAWA – Canada’s economy shed more than 43,000 jobs last month in a clear indication that the struggling economy is still feeling the aftershock of the deep recession that erupted a year ago. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/091106/business/jobs and all the liars continued to say the recession in Canada was officially over, things were getting better, etc

“Canadian officials are taking part in negotiations for a top-secret copyright treaty that could see families barred from the Internet for a year if someone in the household is suspected of illegal downloads.Under the worldwide rules of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA), Internet service providers such as Bell and Rogers in Canada would be required to become copyright police and filter out pirated material from their networks, hand over the identities of customers believed to be infringing copyrights and restrict the use of identity-blocking software.ACTA would employ a three-strikes policy. People believed to be regularly downloading copy-protected material, such as movie and music files, could have their Internet connection severed for up to 12 months and forced to pay a fine. “It’s incredibly disproportionate. Three unproven allegations of infringement will cut off Internet service for a year for an entire family,” said Michael Geist, who holds the Canada Research Chair in Internet and e-commerce Law at the University of Ottawa.”It’s not based on the individual user, it’s based on the connection,” added Geist, who said he has received details of the proposals from people closely associated with drafting the agreement. The treaty, which is being pushed forward by the Office of the United States Trade Representative, closely mimics the controversial Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) that governs copyright issues in the U.S. It puts in place measures that would make it illegal for consumers to make backup copies of DVDs or other media with built-in copy-protection technology. Other provisions could make information on iPods, laptops and other personal electronic devices illegal and force travellers to prove to border officials that the content on such devices was acquired through legal channels.  http://www.calgaryherald.com/business/Canada+talks+over+copyright+laws+with+bite/2189494/story.html

The federal, provincial governments, the CRTC, Conservatives, Liberals  unfairly maintaining  archaic, monopolistic telecommunication firms, that are often   bloated, cost ineffective, incompetent, over staffed, un-competitively managed as well is the main reasons consumer costs falsely keep on going up now.

FIRST DO TELL MY GOVERNMENT, THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA THAT ALL THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA, THE RCMP TOO NOW,  COPYRIGHTS DO ALSO BELONG TO ME, A CITIZEN OF CANADA, ONE OF THE MAY OWNERS OF CANADA NOW TOO, AND THAT AS A RESULT I CAN PASTE, POST ANY OF MY COPYRIGHT MATERIAL  FREELY ON MY WEBS SITE FOR ALL TO SEE.

TORONTO – The office of Canada’s auditor general says it’s perfectly OK – and much appreciated – if websites link to reports on its government site, but warns they should not be hosted elsewhere. Advocates for copyright reform expressed concern Thursday when the auditor general’s office demanded the Globe and Mail newspaper remove a copy of a report that had been attached to one of its online articles. The Globe was displaying the report with a web application called Scribd, which allows large documents to be embedded on a web page without the need for an external program like Adobe Reader. It also keeps readers on the same web page, rather than sending them off to another site to read the document. Beth Stewart, a lawyer for the office of auditor general Sheila Fraser, said the document was ordered off Scribd’s servers because of concerns with the website’s terms of use. It was her understanding that users of Scribd documents are permitted to alter the files and use them in other ways, Stewart said.

An independent analysis of federal stimulus spending shows Conservative ridings received millions more than ridings represented by opposition MPs. Among the cabinet, Heritage Minister James Moore and Minister of State of Foreign Affairs Peter Kent ranked near the top of list due to their share of projects  in their ridings, An interactive look at the latest unemployment data broken down by province and city http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/jobless-rate-jumps-to-86-per-cent/article1353485/#interactive

Is Canada still in recession or in mother of all jobless recoveries?   (CP)  OTTAWA — Canada’s economic recovery is suddenly looking vulnerable after Statistics Canada shocked observers Friday with new data showing the country lost 71,000 jobs last month. The October figure was the third major economic indicator that has surprised well to the downside since the Bank of Canada declared the recession over in July. But the grim jobs data – glossed up by a 27,500-gain in self-employment that brought the net loss to 43,200 – puts into question the previous two months of reported gains. In conjunction with gross domestic product readings of zero growth in July and a 0.1 per cent shrinkage in August, the growth predicted for the third quarter appears to have vanished into thin air. http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadianpress/article/ALeqM5i7F0zSW7kKY265PrP7X0s5pqnb4Q

”If we let Harper put the Conservative logo on EACH dose of H1N1 vaccine – there would be millions in short order.” with absolutely no lack of it…  It would all be very funny if it weren’t so sick.  Ken King, president and CEO of the Calgary Flames, should be embarrassed that he facilitated not only the team’s players, but their families and some executives of the hockey club, to bypass the normal channels to get inoculated ahead of people in the high-risk categories. The City of Calgary has been asking unsuccessfully since mid-October for vaccine units to immunize their police and fire department employees, yet King still sees nothing wrong with jumping the queue. He should do the honourable thing and resign from his position. Albertans and all Canadians deserve nothing less.

A second Alberta health-care worker has been fired for allowing 150 people connected with the Calgary Flames hockey team to jump the queue and receive H1N1 vaccinations at a special clinic last week. Alberta Health Services, the board that oversees health care in the province, made the announcement yesterday, two days after it dismissed “the most senior staff member involved” in the Flames flu controversy. “There is no process for authorization of the use of the H1N1 vaccine for this purpose, as it contradicts existing protocols and processes,” the board said in a statement. No other disciplinary action will be taken, the board said, adding that an advisory has been sent to everyone involved in the vaccination campaign to ensure “no exceptions will be made.”

Canada, OTTAWA – The biggest winners of the Conservatives’ stimulus extravaganza include one of the prime minister’s closest friends, a riding the Tories desperately hope to win in a byelection next week, and a longtime party stalwart.Conservatives come out on top in most provinces.. Eastern Ontario MP Scott Reid, the Nova Scotia riding of Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley and British Columbia MP Jim Abbott are three of the clearest winners in the distribution of stimulus spending, a broad analysis by The Canadian Press shows.Reid has deep roots in the party. Before he was elected in 2000, he served as a top adviser to Reform leader Preston Manning during the 1990s. Sharp and loyal, he has often been touted for cabinet, but was sidelined for a while for impolitic comments about bilingualism. He is the deputy House Leader.  Reid recently made the national news by posing with a giant stimulus cheque with his name emblazoned on top.Stimulus has also been relatively generous in the Quebec riding of Montmagny-L’Islet-Kamouraska-Riviere Loup, where the Conservatives hope their candidate can take the seat from the Bloc Quebecois in the byelections next week. The riding has 57 points, which seems low compared with other provinces, but is the fourth-highest in the province where stimulus has been slow to flow.spending programs most susceptible to pork-barrelling dedicate a large amount of money to a national purpose but don’t have specific local goals.. On the West Coast, the clear stimulus winners are longtime Tory MP Jim Abbott in the riding of Kootenay-Columbia..

The news media says that  New Democrat MP Nathan Cullen spent more on travel than any other MP this year, spending $228,603 to fly across Canada and trek around his sprawling British Columbia riding.  At the other extreme was Conservative MP Gordon O’Connor, who spent a mere $6,600 in travel — the least among sitting MPs. While O’Connor’s riding lies just west of Ottawa, his costs pale compared to the $28,553 chocked up by fellow Conservative MP Royal Galipeau, whose riding lies in the east-end of the city.  An analysis by Sun Media of documents tabled in the House of Commons shows a wide discrepancy in the travel costs MPs charged to taxpayers during the past year. And while the figures don’t include many categories of travel such as travel by cabinet ministers related to their jobs, travel by parliamentary committees and international conferences, it does give a glimpse of who is racking up the frequent flyer miles at taxpayers expense. Overall, Conservatives dominated the top 20 list, occupying 11 of the top 20 positions. While many of those who spent the most represent remote and isolated ridings, there were significant cost differences between MPs in far flung ridings. NDP MP Dennis Bevington, who represents the Northwest Territories spent $213,682 while Liberal Larry Bagnell, MP for the Yukon, charged $115,468.

Many senators are decent types trying to make intelligent and constructive contributions to public policy. But Mike Duffy’s only value has become that of poster boy for why the Senate needs, at very least, major reform if not outright abolition. With his wild rant on a CBC national politics show this week, the television icon has accomplished the difficult feat of offending all those in his parliamentary orbit — his former journalistic occupation, the Conservative party, senators, MPs and even the prime minister who appointed him. MP Peter Stoffer noted in passing, Senator Duffy racked up $44,000 in travel costs during just three months of unelected service in the Red Chamber. MPs from all parties have consistently ranked Peter Stoffer as the least partisan and most personable MP in Canada today. This is the same Duffy who, as host of his own politics show, presented himself for decades as journalistically neutral, then accepted Harper’s $130,000 appointment ten months ago and now devotes his energies to shamelessly shilling for the Conservatives.

Our governments and our leaders seem still too ready to allow all of our taxpayer’s monies to be abused and that is unacceptable always. Someone has to be concerned about it, and one of the best ways to deal with the abuses is to expose it and to prosecute fully all the guilty participants. ESPECIALLY THE BAD CIVIL AND PUBLIC SERVANTS.

Firstly It is really a criminal offence to misuse the taxpayers money, to use one’s governmental, job, related resources, time and energy to promote one’s political party too..

Liberals and New Democrats together could unseat Harper   The Prime Minister’s divisive partisan tactics have diminished the public’s respect for politicians in general. In just four years, he has changed the tone of media coverage and public discourse, shifting the mood of the nation toward cynicism and selfishness. http://www.thestar.com/comment/article/719037  The more simple, practical solution is to arrest Prime Minister rightfully on abusing the taxpayer’s money.. many world wide prime ministers have been successfully tried and convicted for their wrong doings  world wide.  It is undeniable that Harper has already now  hired many supporters into governmental jobs : conservative party supporters, organizers, promoters who also are now using their governmental positions, jobs and positions to promote the Conservative party.. so now do not hesitate to arrest and fire all of them too..  Most people still rightfully do blame the governments, politicians, bad cops and bad judges, for the existence of much too many crooked civil and public servants, crooked business persons, crooked persons in Canada.  More Laws that are unenforced also tend to be still mostly useless too.

We can often know too often our civil and public servants, governments. Medicare now are pretentious and none of that is very acceptable still as well, especially when they take their pay from the taxpayer’s money but now show little good for it still too.

Here also is what I do know  also for sure for decades now too. Visiting the local charge card happy medical doctors tends to be totally inadequate when you have a  serious health issue. In fact mainly, rather only hospital emergency facilities can help you, cause they alone tend to have all the expertise, medical equipment needed to do the proper diagnosis, necessary tests still too.

Meanwhile British Prime Minister Gordon Brown threatens to end Afghan mission unless corruption is tackled.   In a clear policy shift, the Prime Minister cautioned President Karzai that unless he quashes endemic corruption he will have “forfeited” his right to international support. “I am not prepared to put the lives of British men and women in harm’s way for a government that does not stand up against corruption,” he said. “But let me also be clear. People are right to ask whether our soldiers should be placed in harm’s way, if the government of Afghanistan is unable or unwilling to meet its obligations to the Afghan people.  A poll last night showed that opposition to the war has risen markedly in the last fortnight. Only 33 per cent of the British public think that the war can be won, while 57 per cent think that victory is no longer possible.. and what does Stephen Harper Prime Minister of Canada say?

Heads roll in Alberta

A senior staff member within Alberta Health Services has been turfed after members of the Calgary Flames were able to jump the queue and receive H1N1 vaccines. In a statement released today, AHS officials said they only learned of the situation on Monday. An investigation was launched. “Disciplinary action has been taken, resulting in the dismissal today of the most senior staff member involved,” says the statement. “An investigation is continuing and may result in further disciplinary action.” The statement was signed by Ken Hughes, chairman of the Alberta Health Services Board and Dr. Stephen Duckett, president and chief executive officer.

‘The special treatment … is unacceptable to us and contrary to all of our existing protocols and processes. I apologize for this breach of our duty to Albertans.’—Stephen Duckett, Alberta Health Services “I think it sends the message that this will not be tolerated,” said Alberta Health Minister Ron Liepert, adding that he does not know who the dismissed worker is, or why he or she decided to approve the clinic — held on Friday at an unnamed health centre — for the hockey team.   Top officials said they did not know about the arrangements for the Flames organization until Monday. “The decision to allow preferential access to the Flames and their families was a serious error in judgment on the part of the staff involved,” said Stephen Duckett, president and CEO of the board, in the statement

This is a perfect picture of what two tier health care systems look like. The rich get richer and those with money can buy their health care coverage/care. The Flames should be ashamed. Alberta Health Services should be investigated. How did the money/vaccine exchange happen and who’s pocket was filled. I am disgusted.Albertans have let there government get far to comfortable. 30 years in power says, we can do anything and you sheep will continue to vote for us. The governments should fear its people and yours does not. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/story/2009/11/04/alberta-h1n1-flu-shot-calgary-flames-investigation.html

UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT -SELFISHNESS

Ont. minister says she’s outraged at reports that celebrity athletes got H1N1 vaccine  TORONTO – Ontario Health Minister Deb Matthews vowed Thursday to investigate whether celebrity athletes jumped the queue for the swine flu shot while other groups are being forced to wait as the province’s supply dwindles. Minister slams H1N1 shots for Leafs, Raptors.  She said she shares the outrage sparked by reports that professional hockey and basketball players in Toronto got the shot even though the province doesn’t have enough yet to vaccinate school-age children.

Toronto hospital board got H1N1 shots early CBC.ca - Members of the board of directors at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital were given H1N1 shots last Monday, at a time when many people in priority groups had yet to be immunized. Shortage or not they used their position to beat the system. If you’re rich, famous or connected it seems you don’t have to wait.  Everyone else though…be patient.  Anyone but me tired of hearing ” we jumped to the front of the line because we did not know there was going to be a shortage? ” In whose world does that make it right when pregnant woman and small children spend hours standing in line? Not fair! These people should have had the decency to let the high-risk groups go first.  Sounds like the bureaucrats are looking after themselves again. Buffalo Jump said: “In Alberta they fired the person who made special arrangements for the Flames.   What is going to happen in Ontario?”  Nothing. This is Ontario

AND THEY ARE STILL ALLOWED TO HOLD THEIR JOBS?

More Canadians are trying to drink themselves to sleep, Quebec study finds  Canwest News Service ,  Canadians are spending hundreds of millions of dollars every year self-medicating their insomnia with alcohol, a new study suggests. “We were very surprised to see that so many people use alcohol as a way to promote sleep, particularly because it has more detrimental than beneficial effects on sleep,” says Charles Morin, a professor of psychology at Laval University and one of the authors of the study, published this week in the journal Sleep. Overall, eight per cent of the sample reported using alcohol as a sleep aid. Among people with insomnia, 28 per cent reported self-medicating with alcohol.   The study estimates the total annual costs of the sleep disorder in Quebec alone is $6.5 billion. “We know insomnia is a very prevalent problem, it has a very negative impact on people’s quality of life,” Morin says. “If we can show that it’s 10 times more costly not to treat insomnia because of its impact on absenteeism from work and reduced productivity than it is to treat it, why aren’t we treating it more often?” Part of the problem is that so few people seek help. Morin says some people take sleeping pills, “but there are many more who self-medicate with over-the-counter products or, worse, with alcohol.” The research found the money spent on the use of booze as a sleep aid far exceeds costs associated with visits to doctors and the use of prescription pills and over-the-counter products from antihistamines to herbal teas. “The idea that ’schnapps before your bedtime’ is good for your sleep might have been right about 100 years ago, as long as it was the occasional schnapps,” says Dr. Adam Moscovitch, medical director of the Canadian Sleep Institute and a University of Calgary professor. “When you knock yourself out as a way of dealing with it, if you can’t shut you mind off in any other way, then alcohol has a very negative effect on your sleep. It deprives you of any of the deep stages of sleep and, once it wears off, it has a rebound effect. So your problem becomes much worse.” Of the $6.5 billion estimated annual costs associated with insomnia in Quebec, the biggest indirect cost by far — $5 billion — was reduced productivity. The highest direct cost — $339.8 million — was money spent on alcohol to promote sleep. By comparison, an estimated $16.5 million was spent on prescription drugs, and $1.8 million for over-the-counter products. The study, based on a random sample of 948 adults, distinguished between those people who drink at the end of the day, and those who use booze specifically to help them sleep, meaning they drink before bedtime, or in the middle of the night. Canadians today live in a stressed society with multiple pressures balancing work and family responsibilities. “One of the things we cut corners on is our sleep,” Moscovitch says. http://www.canada.com/theprovince/news/story.html?id=bbff0ea3-d36d-45bd-ac3b-773697d5442f

Attitudes To Alcohol Must Change. A health Minister  has called for a change in attitudes towards alcohol by both the public and the drinks industry all year now too. Statistics which show an increase of in the number of people   binge drinking, getting drunk  and that the statistics also show that we still have a long way to deal with this major problem. 81% of people who choose to drink are still exceeding the recommended daily limits. The cost of alcohol misuse to our society is very real. In just over 10 years, there has been a startling 86% increase in the numbers of people dying due to alcohol related harm. “Now, more than ever, we should all be working together to really tackle this issue head on and I believe the drinks industry has a key role to play. Supermarkets in particular sell alcohol far too cheaply. I am extremely disappointed that despite having met with each of the major supermarkets, and received their personal assurances that they take this matter extremely seriously, those words have not as yet translated into meaningful action. ”On the contrary, they are flooded with festive drinks promotions that will only encourage people to indulge further in binge drinking. This, in my view, is totally unacceptable.   Action speaks louder than words. On this occasion, profit is being put before public health.”  “The harsh reality is that although alcohol misuse is known to be damaging and harmful to health and well-being, many people still drink to excess. This must change, and in this respect we all have a collective responsibility in tackling this issue – individuals, society, government and the drinks industry alike.”    http://www.emaxhealth.com/2/63/27952/attitudes-alcohol-must-change.html  http://www.emaxhealth.com/2/63/27943/northern-ireland-reports-adult-drinking-patterns.html

As a person who has regularly followed the related Canadian news stores, issues in regard to drunk driving, speeding, accidents, driver error it is  VERY CLEAR TO ME THAT THE NEWS MEDIA SPIN for the major causes of the accidents, and also for the hidden tax, the need for more revenue generating traffic tickets, THEIR TRUTH  VARIES FROM DAY TODAY AND CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AS BEING ANYTHING CLOSE TO THE TRUTH. Not even in Alberta. Why? Poor Journalism for a start, lying, incompetent politicians, policemen’s views too.

Honking, fist-shaking, screaming, obnoxious drivers: the symptoms of road rage.    Insurance Corporation of British Columbia  Psychologist John Vavrik, who studies driving behaviour for ICBC, says road rage can be better understood as “aggressive driving spectrum disorder.” According to Vavrik, road rage can take many forms.  “There’s not a clean definition of it. It’s basically an aggressive act aimed at hurting somebody or sending a message to somebody,” Vavrik said.  “The people most at risk of engaging in these behaviours are the least likely to control their behaviour,” he said. “They have low emotional intelligence. They don’t have the tools or skills or strategy to manage their emotions.  “In those extreme cases, we’re talking about sociopathic issues. The driver’s a walking time bomb.”  According to Vavrik, “road-ragers” are generally underachievers, individuals who lack assertiveness and control, and do not have the status in life they desire.  He said the “depersonalized space” of a vehicle is a trigger to road rage, as is an unexpected traffic delay, such as that caused by a slow driver, or being stuck behind an idle bus.
 http://www.timescolonist.com/Road+ragers+generally+underachievers+psychologist/1443637/story.html

Now we know that more people have accident due to road rage, impaired driving, driving under the influence of drugs, alcohol  over speeding too and we still do need to review how much time and resources do the police deal with that firstly? “

In 2006, 232 Ontarians were killed in traffic accidents in which alcohol was a factor.  “We’ve had an increased number of impaired driving fatalities in Ontario though we’re still seeing a downward trend in Ontario,” is still not enough policing here.

An Australian study estimates that about half of all traffic accidents in Australia may be due to road rage and most of the others related to alcohol, impaired driving and yet the police falsely tend to pursue revenue generating speeding traffic tickets still and why?   Road rage is a relatively serious act; it can  be seen as a violation of human and property rights , an endangerment of  other’s personal well being, security.

Now I have said it for over 3 decades in writing to all too so now call it what you want but police services generally  it is not about public safety, for it is  a self employment, empire  building, a false money grab, revenue generation, hidden taxes..  for if  the cops, the mad RCMP  were now really worried about public safety THEY WOULD FIRSTLY ARREST THEIR OWN KIND, THE BAD COPS WHO OFTEN DRIVE HOME DRUNK AFTER WORK, COMING HOME FROM THE POLICE TAVERN, and they would ALSO FIRSTLY  go after the people who drive reckless, who  fail to stop at the stop signs, or the  traffic stop lights, and go seriously after the impaired drunken drivers, deal with the unsafe cars whose brakes are squealing cause they need to be repaired.. etc. Cops , civil and public servants too often become perverse persons, unacceptable bullies still too. You and I still do not have to accept such crap.

Ironically I had even written recently that the Conservatives clearly are basically no different than the Liberals, and both have much too many alcoholics now as well..”

70 percent of Canadians drink alcohol, 15 percent Canadians are alcoholic, binge drinkers so of course alcohol is associated now with politics, Christian politicians as well..

Drinking alcohol cause permanent brain damage, it also causes a significant deterioration of one’s mental capabilities, deterioration of one’s inter personal relationship skills, it also causes more car accidents than speeding or not having adequate winter tires, it also reduces significantly one’s work productivity as well undeniably too. It has ruined many families as well. So do please tell us all now:

“when will mayor get serious with aggressive drivers and cyclists? ” Toronto mayor refuses comment on Bryant

Toronto police said Tuesday that a “magnitude” of charges were being considered following an apparent altercation that left a cyclist dead and a former high-profile Ontario cabinet minister reportedly in custody…. some witnesses also said the driver appeared to try to remove the cyclist by brushing up against trees and poles.

Now was alcohol now involved as well? was a Police breath analyzer used on Mr Bryant ?

An illustration sadly of what can happen when tempers escalate beyond the point of reason? Some say Take a brief moment to consider these events to determine what you will do if faced with a similar circumstance. Yes but what about a supposedly mature persons who has even a justice Minister. who clearly should have known much better and lead a more exemplary life now too..  Could he have done anything different? or did alcohol have a devious negative effect here too? Drug impaired driving, drunk driving, road age, driving incompetence, and car racing are still the main cause of the majority of all vehicle.. we already do know alcohol and road age is associated with over 40 percent of vehicular accidents..

Police say Sheppard, 33, grabbed onto a car following an altercation with the driver. They say the driver Mr. Bryant still drove way with Sheppard hanging on. Why did Bryant not rather stop?  He Sheppard  then next fell and suffered fatal injuries and dies one hour later. Sheppard’s girlfriend says he had been  drinking the night he died.  Misty Bailey said Sheppard was drunk when he visited her and he rested and slept, then insisted on going home.  Bailey said she didn’t ask him to leave and would have loved for him to stay where she knew he’d be safe.  Sheppard, at one point, was in the back of a police cruiser and she asked police to drive him home, but instead they let Sheppard go, she said.  Police have said they responded to a call about Sheppard barely an hour before his death, but added there were no allegations of criminal activity.  http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/090902/national/bryant_cyclist_killed

Apparently alcohol was involved in Shepherd’s rage, acts, otherwise why would the girlfriend want the police to drive him home?  likely confirms what I have said.. that we already do know alcohol and road age is associated with over 40 percent of vehicular accidents..

Two days after the Bloor Street collision that left a bike messenger dead, the girlfriend of Darcy Allan Sheppard is questioning why police allowed him to bicycle home in the first place. But after dozing intermittently, Mr. Sheppard insisted on bicycling back to his own apartment. Leaving Ms. Bailey’s, he was immediately apprehended by Toronto police, who were responding to a call of “unknown trouble” at the building. Mr. Sheppard was placed into the back of the police cruiser.  For Ms. Bailey, this is where she last saw her boyfriend alive. It is also where she wishes he could have stayed, and that the police could have driven him all the way home in one piece. “I asked for the police to give him a ride home,” said Ms. Bailey, 34, adding that her friends also made similar requests. “They said ‘No, he’s going to [take] himself home.”  Shortly afterward, Mr. Sheppard was killed in a collision with a black Saab convertible on Bloor Street West, just east of Avenue Road. Former attorney-general Michael Bryant has been charged in connection with the death.  http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/toronto/girlfriend-of-dead-cyclist-questions-police-refusal-to-drive-him-home/article1273891/

The police themselves are not off the hook in these matters…  and are caught between the devil and the deep blue sea as well.. DAMMED IF THEY DO AND DAMMED IF THEY DO NOT CHARGE BRYANT

Toronto Police are being criticized for their perceived special treatment of Michael Bryant. The former Attorney General was charged with the death of a cyclist and taken into custody Monday night. By the time Bryant held a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, he was wearing a fresh, clean suit that had been dropped off at the station. And he never appeared in bail court. Instead, Bryant was released and will face a judge for the first time on October 19. That sparked prominent defence lawyer Edward Sapiano to say that anyone else, aside from a police officer or politician, would have been forced to show up in bail court unshaven and dishevelled.   http://www.citytv.com/toronto/citynews/news/local/article/56895–cops-criticized-for-perceived-special-treatment-of-michael-bryant

Michael Bryant, who once appointed judges and oversaw Crown prosecutors, has now suddenly found himself on the opposite side of the judicial system, accused of criminal negligence causing death and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death in the altercation involving Darcy Allan Sheppard. Now his career and reputation have been severely damaged already as a result too so Bryant is supposedly trying to buy his way out of it by hiring the best PR, lawyers too. Reminds me of the OJ Simpson fiasco.Rich and Powerful  Michael Bryant has hired the best PR, Lawyers, Spin doctors to try to clean up his tarnished image, to falsely deny he killed someone too.

This guy should clearly not be driving, and yes, I would consider him a danger to the public based on the eyewitnesses’ accounts.  Do the police have any proof that Bryant was not drinking?  I have not heard that a breathalyser was administered to Bryant, or about whether there was alcohol purchased at the restaurant where he was celebrating. It sounds as though police are simply taking him at his word. That is insane, given the outrageous manner in which he was allegedly driving.  And if he wasn’t drinking, then there is something seriously wrong with him. He needed to stop his vehicle after allegedly hitting Sheppard, and he needed to stop his vehicle when Sheppard held on to his vehicle. Nobody in their right mind would accelerate under those conditions – particularly when there were bystanders who could help him if he felt he was in danger.  I’m just wondering how Bryant, and his PR firm have spun the story so that the guy who allegedly hit a person on a bike, and used his vehicle as a weapon is now being depicted as a “victim” who was terrorized – I think it is more accurate to say that if you hit a person/cyclist, then try to knock them away when they are trying to stop you from leaving – that is terrorizing someone. I keep reading posts with people saying that if someone held onto their car, they would accelerate (up to 90km/hr into oncoming traffic?) – that’s safe?.( that is  murderous).. I try to imagine someone calm, like my mom yelling at a cyclist, then nudging them with her car and driviing away (hit and run?), then when the person is holding on (after being allegedly assaulted..), driving her vehicle in such a way as to remove the person in any way possible. It’s just not reasonable.  Apply the brake, apologize for hitting the person while on their bike, and say sorry. http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2009/09/04/bryant-conditions.html#

Now  also we have more  revelation in Sept 2009 of alcohol abuse in Ontario too  And why did it take so long to investigate and take action when this was brought out before in the past?

The “culture of entitlement” at the lottery corporation appears to be a deep-rooted problem that will not be solved by the new procedures put in place by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, said Kevin Gaudet, federal director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

Under the new Ontario Government rules revealed this month , employees with unacceptable expense claims such as alcohol for staff functions and personal items must repay the taxpayers. McGuinty’s move follows the revelations employees at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp expensed items such as a $3,713.77 dinner for 38 people that included more than 10 bottles of wine and other alcohol. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.’s 10 highest-paid employees expensed at least $2,533 on alcohol between January, 2007, and December, 2008. A sales and marketing meeting at the Keg resulted in a $260 liquor tab; 38 people at a pre- Sound of Music business dinner drank $885 worth of alcoholic beverages. Any hospitality event at which alcohol was served would have to receive prior approval. The same provincial public-service rules also require written approval before all out-of-province travel, rarely evident in the documents the province made public this week. It all now still reveals a culture of acceptability that is inappropriate in a recession and in any Crown environment. The past provincial directive, which has been in place since 2004, states that “reimbursement of meal costs must not include the reimbursement for any alcoholic beverages.” The Ontario Liberals have also ordered a review of the 600 provincial agencies, boards and commissions to root out spending abuses. New Democrat Leader Andrea Horwath said the added layer of scrutiny doesn’t assuage concerns about widespread illicit spending among government agencies. NOW WHAT ABOUT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?

(Gal 5:19 KJV)  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20   Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21   Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  (Col 3:5 KJV)  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6   For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

It has always confounded me as to why the liars, crooks, deceivers, abusers, alcolholics, drug addicts   too often do still do think they can get away with now, next and forever.

FOR WE TEND TO KNOW THAT THEY THE CROOKS, ABUSERS TOO,  NOW ARE NOT ABOUT TO STOP THEIR WRONG DOINGS. RATHER THEY WILL NEXT EVEN ESCALATE, CONTINUE IN THEM. AND THAT IS ANOTHER VALID REASON  THEY DO NEED TO BE EXPOSED, PROSECUTED AND STOPPED. EVEN FOR THE GOOD OF US ALL.

A toll-free number to help QUEBEC businesses

  quebec-canada-logo

“And as of April 1, 2009, a new toll-free number is being introduced to help businesses. Quebec Employers will get special attention through what’s described as “regional intervention teams.” They will bring together several government departments which will work together to provide support for a business or a manufacturer.  “The idea here is to have a special team if a business requires some help,” Jean Charest said.  The Quebec premier also promised to invest more money in the program if the demand increases.  ”

I trust that this support services including sales, marketing consultants, helping to target new products, product, services diversifications, and help in finding new sales areas, opportunity  as well?

Quebec  Premier Jean Charest also says Ottawa is finally doing something to help workers and companies in Quebec weather the tough economic times.  Charest confirmed on Monday the federal government is providing 80 per cent of the funding for a $518-million provincial job-support program. The goal of the two-year plan, which was announced in last Thursday’s Quebec budget, is to retrain workers and help companies that may be running into problems staying afloat.

Canada’s economic health worsens: Mr Harper note this.

Canada’s economic health worsens: report  Financial Post March 23, 2009 9:02 AM Statistics Canada said Monday its composite leading index fell 1.1% — the biggest monthly decline since 1981 — following a revised 0.9% drop in January, with nine of the 10 sector components losing ground. Most economists had expected a 0.9% drop in February. OTTAWA — Key indicators of Canada’s economic health fell more than expected February, as activity continued to weaken in the housing and auto sectors as the economic downturn deepened and stock prices tumbled. Statistics Canada said Monday its composite leading index fell 1.1% — the biggest monthly decline since 1981 — following a revised 0.9% drop in January, with nine of the 10 sector components losing ground.  Most economists had expected a 0.9% drop in February. “The housing and stock markets continued to post the largest declines, while losses in manufacturing steepened as the auto industry began to implement extensive shutdowns at the turn of the year,” the federal agency said. The biggest decline was in the housing index, which dropped 8% as “as an upturn in home sales was outweighed by fewer housing starts in February,” it said. The stock prices indicator fell 7.5% and durable goods were down 1.4%.  “The three manufacturing indicators declined in unison,” the agency said. “New orders fell 4.8%, with the weakness in autos intensifying and spreading to other industries like iron and steel. Inventories fell for a seventh straight month, but not as fast as sales, reducing the ratio of shipments to stocks.” Statistics Canada said money supply was the only component to rise, rising 1.8% in February from the previous month. “The stimulus from monetary policy also was a major factor behind the slower rate of decline in the leading index for the United States,” it said. Ian Pollick, economics strategist at TD Securities, said “this is undoubtedly a weak report.” “We know that there exists a good correlation between the level of this index and real GDP in the same month, as such, we see further evidence that February GDP will be quite soft,” he said.

Food prices eating in to Canadians’ pockets.  Rising gas and food prices made 2008 a tough year for Canadians and their wallets, according to a new report from Statistics Canada. The year saw consumer prices as a whole rise slightly faster than the year before, the agency says, but that gradual increase “masked” big fluctuations at the pumps and in grocery stores.  Overall, consumer prices rose an average of 2.3% in 2008, slightly faster than the average increase of 2.2% the year before.  Within that, gas prices climbed by 12.7% on average over 2008, producing the largest annual increase since hurricanes Katrina and Rita wreaked havoc on the oil market in 2005. However, there is good news. Gas prices dropped as the year went on. Pump prices in December 2008 were 25.8% lower than in December 2007, Statistics Canada says, marking the largest year-over-year drop since the gasoline price index debuted in 1949. But in the aisles of their grocery stores, Canadians faced the opposite trend. Store prices on food rose 3.9% in 2008 and the annual increase in prices has been accelerating over the last five years.  In particular, the price of staples such as bread, rice, flour, milk and eggs rose “sharply” in 2008, due in part to higher transportation costs, rising commodity prices and increased demand for food in emerging markets abroad. http://www.calgaryherald.com/Business/Food+prices+eating+Canadians+pockets/1418807/story.html

With this very serious downturn in Alberta too I next do not expect as many Albertans to vote for you Mr Stephen Harper. It is very evident on the Alberta net that many, many  Conservatives are not happy with Mr Harper.

3 F’s STEPHEN HARPER

0sh3fsa1

STEPHEN HARPER’S false DEFINITION OF A CONSERVATIVE PERSON IS ONE WHO HAS FAITH, A FAMILY, AND SUPPORTS FREEDOM

WOW! FUNNY THAT WAS ALSO WHAT THE LAST CONSERVATIVE PREMIER OF ONTARIO WAS LIKE THAT NOW TOO. A NON PRACTISING CONSERVATIVE, HE USED HIS FREEDOM TO DO HIS OWN THING.

Harper’s  definition of freedom seems to be a religious police state,  and it does not matter if you cheat, lie, steal, abuse others, are an alcoholic as long as you are married. It also it seems does not matter if you practice your religion too, as long as you have one..

>most libertarians, upset with Harper for calling out libertarians, insisting that Harper-style conservatism is significantly different from libertarianism, .. tells us is that the government ought to be small, and its functions severely limited…. it’s surprising that Harper would categorize his conservatism as an amalgamation of three fundamental “pillars” — Freedom, Faith, and Family.  Is Harper under the impression that individual liberty will lead to a mass abandonment of churches, a mass disintegration of society, the end of the nuclear family?  Libertarians are angry with Harper because he hasn’t made the government smaller, hasn’t cut taxes aggressively enough, and has seen fit to spend a boatload of money on a “stimulus” package that conservatives in the U.S. are decrying. Libertarians have been angry with Harper for the same reasons that fiscal conservatives have been angry with Harper. Why single out the libertarians? And it has more to do with insisting that Harper live up to what he used to say he believed  that he considered himself a “classical liberal,” which is just a synonym for libertarian). Andrew Coyne was right. We have very good reason to despise politics, and to hate what it does to people who become politicians. Stephen Harper used to be a libertarian. But, without explanation, he’s decided he isn’t one any longer, and he’s decided to pick a fight with libertarians.  http://westernstandard.blogs.com/shotgun/2009/03/stephen-harper-vs-libertarians-the-continuing-saga.html

The  past Ontario  premier he slept with a women who was not yet divorced from her husband.. not exactly exemplary family living.. then he called the police to suppress my freedom of speech on the matter.. and what religion did he really practice too now?

STEPHEN HARPER’S false DEFINITION OF A CONSERVATIVE PERSON IS EXACTLY THE DEFINITION I WOULD EXPECT FROM RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALISTS WHO WANT FREEDOM OF RELIGION ENSURED. Harper is clearly trying to win back the support of the relgious right who feel he has led them down.. Harper for them he has not worked hard enough to oppose abortion, gays, all of the bad guys and gals, or to adequately promote religion as a professing Christian Evangelical..

I am surprised that the religious fundamentalists are not loudly objecting to this still Harper distortion too…

The biggest threat to families in Canada does not come from gay marriage, or abortion, or any of the other traditional social-conservative hobby-horses. It comes from divorce, since in Alberta there is no legal separation.. note this fact 30 percent of evangelical Christians practice divorce even cause many  pastors counsel it often, they are sex maniacs who like to keep their sex options open, even though God hates divorce. http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/01/02/divorce-and-remarriage-in-the-christian-church/

OTTAWA – Canadians are losing their jobs at the rate of one every 30 seconds but Prime Minister Stephen Harper is incapable of feeling their pain, NDP Leader Jack Layton said yesterday. After speaking to the NDP federal council, Layton said that while hundreds are losing their jobs daily, Harper would rather talk about how the country is doing relatively well. “You don’t get a sense from this government that Canadians are suffering. In fact, he’s out there trying to say everything is rosy or just about to be rosy … and I have said, `Take off the rose-coloured glasses and talk to some of the people who have been thrown out of work,’” Layton told reporters. “They don’t seem to get it,” said the NDP leader, reminding reporters that Harper’s human resources minister, Diane Finley, recently said she wasn’t about to make Employment Insurance “lucrative for (the unemployed) to stay home and get paid for it.” In his speech, he accused Harper of making Canada’s economic downturn even worse by not acknowledging earlier that the country was headed into a recession.  Layton noted that since the October federal election, more than 300,000 Canadians have been thrown out of work, unemployment climbed to 7.7 per cent in February and the trade deficit has ballooned to $900 million. “Our economic straits are dire, but as we know we didn’t get here overnight … In September Stephen Harper was still claiming `the fundamentals of the Canadian economy are sound’ – yet another example that Stephen Harper is out of touch,” he said.  “By denying the problem, he has delayed our economic recovery.” http://www.thestar.com/News/Canada/article/606565

PRIME MINISTER STEPHEN HARPER WRONGFULLY AND CLEARLY IS STILL BUSY SHORING UP SUPPORT FOR HIS CONSERVATIVE PARTY AND NOT RATHER WORKING HARD ENOUGH TO HELP ALL OF THE TROUBLED CANADIANS.

Harper and Tory disclose how much party funding was used to

un2
Attention News/Assignment/Education/Parliament Hill/Queen’s Park Editors:

Students call on Harper and Tory to disclose how much party funding was used to undermine students’ unions      TORONTO, March 18 /CNW/ – Recordings leaked from a workshop hosted by the Ontario Progressive Conservative Campus Association and the Manning Centre for Building Democracy reveal a plan to undermine democratic decision-making on Canadian campuses.     At the February 7, 2009 Conservative training session for students in Waterloo, a workshop called “Campaign Strategies and Tactics for Keeping the CFS off Campus” was presented by Aaron Lee-Wudrick, Campaign Manager for Member of Parliament Peter Braid, and Ryan O’Connor, Ninth Vice-President of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario. Braid and other Conservative politicians participated training workshops in Waterloo and elsewhere in the country.

“Students’ unions provide an independent democratic voice for students and it is alarming that the Conservative Party of Canada is devoting resources to undermine that voice,” said Shelley Melanson, Chairperson of the Canadian Federation of Students-Ontario. “Students have a right to hear directly from Stephen Harper and John Tory about whether it is official party policy to interfere with democratic student unions.”     The Canadian Federation of Students represents over 300,000 college and university students in Ontario, and more than 500,000 across Canada. The mandate of the Federation is to advocate for accessible and high-quality post-secondary education. Other student groups, such as campus Public Interest Research Groups, that advocate for environmental sustainability, human rights, and social justice were targeted by Conservative Party presenters.     The leaked materials, available at Wikileaks.org, include session agendas and audio recordings that feature instructions on how to run Conservative Party candidates in student elections to promote the partisan agenda of the Conservative Party. Presenters are heard advising Conservative students to set up “front organisations” to receive student clubs funding under false pretenses in order to funnel money to the Conservative Party.

“Students deserve to know how much the Conservative Party has spent and who has received funding and training,” said Melanson. “I certainly hope that the federal and provincial Conservative parties aren’t using taxpayer dollars for these purposes.”

Hey we have loads of example of how ruthless, crooked the cops are now in Canada.. their self regulation does not work, and Canada wide now  too. None of this is acceptable. and the overall justice system, Justice Ministers are already known world wide to be really bad too.

Monday June 15,2009 Canadian Press  VANCOUVER — A judge has decided the inquiry into the death of Robert Dziekanski will be allowed to make findings of misconduct against the four RCMP officers involved. The officers who stunned Dziekanski with a Taser at Vancouver’s airport challenged Commissioner Thomas Braidwood’s authority to make findings of misconduct against them. Braidwood had warned the officers he would consider allegations made at the inquiry — that they acted improperly and then lied to cover up their actions. The officers claimed those allegations amount to criminal offences, which public inquiries can’t do. They also argued that federal police officers are outside the jurisdiction of a provincial inquiry. But Justice Arne Silverman rejected those arguments, which means the inquiry can resume as scheduled this Friday with closing submissions.

Actions, real concrete type, speak louder over cheap words, lies, spins..

Rightfully the creation of real, permanent manufacturing jobs that make and sell goods at home or abroad, export goods  is the only valid job stimulus I basically uphold, support, and the rest for me is mere wastes, throwing out good money or  mostly  makes the rich get richer, IT DOES NOT HELP THE POOR, UNEMPLOYED now REALLY….

Now Eighty-five per cent of the autos and parts produced in Canada flow to the U.S., where demand for vehicles has plummeted by 50 per cent, so new goods and new markets also do have to be developed now. It’s what American consumers do and buy, not just what Canadians do and buy that counts now too. Job Stimulas means valid  sales, marketing, manufacturing developments and so Mr Harper where is it really seen now? Where???????

cartoon-20

So Canada’s PM Stephen Harper’s Throne speech targets economy, but is short on real detail. Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper only gives cheap words, talks big and says a  US recovery is first  necessary for a Canadian rebound, and next  Canada will emerge from slump stronger,  , or  Canada to emerge from global crisis before others and stronger  too or Canada’s PM is upbeat about the future economy  now still are all more mere lies for me and not the truth, realities. Harper has a known long history of being a big liar already too

According to the pastor Harper was a good christian. The  hypocritical, pretentious fundamental right winged evangelical pastor of New Life Beginings in LaSalle, Quebec  Preaches next openly today now  for us not to have anything to do with a person who drinks wine, and to stand up against all people who do any wrong, to openly speak to them, and lies and says come and talk to me your pastor after church. I am always really interested to hear from you about all of your concerns but  in reality when you do try to talk to him..  I thus told him Harper drinks beer.. but since he himself cannot handle negative truths, he the ostrich no good pastor refuses to talk with me  and  says I am tired now, I refuse to hear any of that, I refuse to believe any of that, that is all gossip,  slanders, and we do not allow anyone who causes disturbance, problems, gives any criticism in our church, so please leave now. So much for their false professing Christian love, brotherly love, their openness now, free speech too.. The same pastor says he does not believe anything the news media writes at all. So who does he believe? only himself it seems.

For the record, Stephen Harper Prime Minister of Canada himself now did  not even deny to me that he drinks beers and/or alcohol, or that he even gives presents of alcohol to others as well. So why do any of the others?

http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/01/23/alcoholic/

too many Conservatives still also lie and say you can be a good family man and be an alcoholic as well..

the sad reality contradicts it often..  the broken next  homes..

and no man can serve two masters, for he will love one and hate the other..

PS anyone who is naive to say that professing Christians do not drink alcohol, get drunk just should read all the letters I often do get from professing Christian pastors acknowledging they drink wine, alcohol and trying to justify it.. I have often written about this too http://postedat.wordpress.com/2008/11/04/politics-political-corruptions-inducements-christians-alcoholics/
