New medical studies confirm what I for years have written here..

life (3)

Nearly 40 per cent of hospital infection control experts believe their hospital is not clean enough to prevent spread of the toxic gut infection C. difficile and other potentially lethal organisms, a national survey has found.

About one-quarter million Canadians will be sickened this year with an infection they pick up in hospital, and death rates from highly drug-resistant microbes are rising.

Yet the new survey found that just 62 per cent of lead infection control staff believe their hospital is sufficiently clean.

“We’re just not achieving the results we need,” said the study’s lead author, Dr. Dick Zoutman, an infectious disease specialist and professor in the school of medicine at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ont.

Canada’s negative reality

conser-1

Canada’s negative reality is not solely the self serving pretentious government, leaders at  the federal, provincial municipal levels but it is till also includes the still much too many  bad professionals such as bad Police services and bad medical personnel.

Go to a Hospital  and 30 percent of you shall acquire a serious Hospital acquired, sickness, disease  leading even to death for may of you too..

It will likely include

1: the shit disease, c-difficile, caused by unwashed hands when you got to the toilet and passed on to others.

2: Food poisonings often disguised by another medical term..

3: Medical errors, including wrong prescription pills..

So demand our paid  civil and public servants do a better job of taking care of us..

HOSPITALS OR THE POLICE ARE NOT THE ONLY POORLY MANAGED PLACES.. SO ARE OUR CITY HALLS, PROVINCIAL CORPORATIONS.. The Quebec Charbonneau Commission is putting out a call for public input on stopping corruption in Quebec.

“Well,  the first thing that needs to be done is to make the justice system more effective in discouraging corruption.  At the moment, most of the key players who were involved in the corruption schemes will probably get away with no punishment or, at worst, a tiny penalty representing a modicum of the amount stolen. The current justice system is sending a clear message that, indeed, it pays to be crooked and corrupt!  The law should be, in my view, that those caught, as a given, should be stripped of their assets, including those transferred to spouses and relatives. The guiding criteria should be that the higher the crime the higher the punishment!  We have seen in the last few years a number of public inquiries that cost more than the derived benefits. It seems to me that despite all such enquiries, corruption appears to persist unchecked, simply because the law did not prosecute vigorously the main players to the degree to discourage them from further corruption  or to discourage others from engaging in such corruptive activities. It is a joke, for example, when a main player in the Federal sponsorship scandal was charged 10 years later, after the fact,  when he was in his 80s! The public is not encouraged to do its part, even if it could, unless the public has confidence  in the justice system, and based on the latest poll question on this site, the public clearly does not have confidence in the justice system.  When it was reported in a well respected magazine that Quebec was the most corrupt province,  the public officials at every level denounced the article. The author of the article in question was a French Canadian and member of the public trying do his civic duty to expose something that was not right.  So, why should the public be motivated to help, if the system is screwed up at the very core of a society, the justice system?   Dominic ” Read more: http://montreal.ctvnews.ca/charbonneau-commission-calls-for-public-input-on-halting-corruption-1.1690144#

Catching the liars in the act in Quebec’s Medicare, Hospitals

canada-seniors-abuse1

The Big Lie–

The triage doctor says now do not  worry we will not let your old mother starve to death, or not give her water to drink, we will take good care of her and help to make her better…  TRANSLATION – the nurse next says if your mother  does not want to eat or drink she will die likely within  5 days, cause we will not force feed her, we are not allowed to do so..

The next big lie

WE HAVE AN EXCELLENT PALLIATIVE CARE UNIT FOR SICK SENIORS  AND WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE REALLY  GOOD CARE OF YOUR MOTHER..

TRANSLATION.. IT IS NOT FREE, FREE MEDICARE WILL NOW NOT COVER IT,  RATHER  SHE NOW HAS  TO PAY FOR IT.. SO TELL US HOW MUCH MONEY DOES SHE NOW HAVE.. WHO ADMINSTRATES HER ESTATE?

Private (Residents admitted on or after July 1, 2013 $77.64 $2,361.55
In Quebec Daily Monthly
Standard Room $35.61 $1,083.00
Semi-Private Room $47.87 $1,456.00
Private Room

It is still a criminal act now for any doctor, nurse, hospital  administrators, medical supervisor not to provide medical care to any seniors. How many have been prosecuted for this in the last year?

EVEN TEN NURSES STILL WILL NOT MAKE ONE GOOD DOCTOR

conser-1

I HAVE TO SAY I AM A GREAT FAN OF DOCTORS, PARTICULARLY SINCE I FOUND MOST PEOPLE’S PERSONAL OPINIONS, MEDICAL ADVICE IS CRAP AND TRYING TO DIAGNOSE A MEDICAL SOLUTION TO A SICKNESS ON THE INTERNET TENDS TO BE USELESS AT LEAST 99 PERCENT OF THE TIME STILL TOO..

.

WHEN YOU HAVE A SERIOUS SICKNESS IT TAKES REAL DOCTORS AND REAL MEDICAL TESTING TO HELP YOU.. AND WHATEVER YOUR PROBLEM IS EVEN SUCH AS  INFECTION, GLAND, HEART, SKIN, CANCER  PROBLEMS TOO NOW

.

Now I have been to many doctors, and to many Hospitals, I seem to have tried  half of them in Montreal, especially since I have had  two very senior   parents.. so I have been able to acquire a lot of basic medical knowledge  that I have shared on the net  at   http://stayinhealth.wordpress.com/

.

UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE STILL GOOD AND BAD DOCTORS AND GOOD AND BAD NURSES TOO..

.

I HAVE TO SAY I HAVE TOO OFTEN  MET MOSTLY STILL STUPID NURSES, ESPECIALLY THE BASIC ONES WHO DO NOT HAVE A UNIVERSITY DEGREE.. EVEN TEN NURSES STILL WILL NOT MAKE ONE GOOD DOCTOR. Also the good nurses serve the sick patient, the bad nurses bully them..

.

Millions of persons have diabetes, and many of them  do not even know it.. Now  diabetes is not to be taken lightly for it has serious negative personal side effects. Diabetes is influenced by genes, and the food we eat, exercise as well.

.

NOW  EVEN MOST MEDICAL PERSONAL  MAY KNOW SOMETHING  ABOUT DIABETES, (SOME HOW I REALLY DOUBT IT AS THEY TEND TO TOO OFTEN FALSELY SKIP MEALS, THAT ITSELF IS A CAUSE OF DIABETES EVEN,)  BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY UNDERSTAND NOW HOW TO DEAL WITH IT..

.

Reminds me a University college graduate had boasted to me he had learned all about Computers in University.. so I put him down in front of my computer and said to him show me what you can do.. I was shocked next  when he really could not use a computer still, he said he had learned everything from a textbook.. He lacked real practical experiences.. that is true about diabetes when it comes to many medical personnel,  Doctors and Nurses included.
.
MANY PEOPLE MAKE A VERY  SERIOUS ERROR AND ASSUME THAT DIABETES IS IRREVERSIBLE.. THAT IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE.. AS TYPE 2  DIABETES CAN BE OFTEN  REVERSED IF YOU NEXT DO TAKE PROPER STEPS TO MANAGE IT..
.
BUT MOST PEOPLE ALSO MAKE A SERIOUS ASSUMPTION THAT DOCTORS CAN FULLY TREAT PATIENTS WITH HEART PROBLEMS, AND THE PROBLEM CAN BE REVERSED.. DREAM ON.. ONCE YOU HAVE HEART PROBLEMS YOU TEND TO STILL HAVE THE MANY NEGATIVE SIDE EFFECTS THAT CAN BE PARTIALLY MANAGED BUT NOT ELIMINATED.. YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN LIVE A HEALTHY NORMAL LIFE AS YOU DID BEFORE YOUR HEART PROBLEMS.. YOU HAVE NOW A STILL BROKEN TRANSMISSION SYSTEM.
.
Now I had many a Montreal  CLSC nurse wasting hours of my time by trying to have me  explain everything that  I had learned from the doctors about diabetes..  but that was, is not my Job to teach her.. The CLSC staff and nurses should already know ALL about diabetes and what is the proper nursing care too.. especially when they deal with a lot of seniors..  And  it is not the Nurses Job also now  to act as a Doctor, to question what the Doctor has told me personally to do in regard to my own diabetes control or that of myself or of my  mother.. she can contact the doctor  herself.. and learn from him..
.
Note Insulin recommendations  levels   given by Doctors  given   by needles  are not like Pills where you   just take  time.. Needle based insulin has to be adjusted  by all diabetes patients too according to the persons actual sugar level  and also adjusted according  to how much the patient actually eats.. I follow the Doctors  specific instructions now and not the Nurses here too.
.
A CLSC Nurse was complaining to me she was overworked, but it clearly was very apparent to me she was placing herself in a role of a Doctor, diagnosing  sickness and providing medical advice too  but that is not her role firstly even.
.
Please inform all of the Nurses even in Quebec to mind their own businesses,  and that their Job is to be a Nurse and not try to be  doctors, and/or try to improve on what a doctor says..
.

.
PS: For a start the government says it has 45 days to review my complaint, they will likely wait for the last minute before they whitewash everyone again..
,
Let me be clear to you  again and  you can talk to me freely anytime you want too. But  I had made a simple request  that  I do not want  this bad nurse to be thrust upon us, nor to see ever again this bad nurse that has been falsely acting in a dictatorial manner, fighting with me, trying to be a doctor, demanding that I do things for her in my house, nor  does my  mother. Our own witnesses of her poor nursing services Is undeniable.

We know that the usage of crack cocaine is very serious and costly

Be sure your sins will find you out and the reputation also will suffer .  You bought and used an illegal drug

.

What Toronto Mayor Rob Ford should know..  Now by now we all should be used to the too many expensive liars we do daily encounter in governments, news media, police and even in Churches.. the lying spin doctors are now too often trying to justify their pay and they do lie to us by telling us all that they are all doing a good job in serving us, in looking after all of our good welfare, even while the rich get richer and the poor people get poorer in Canada now too, but still visibly we can clearly see this is not so and real justice too often is an expensive undertaking, a mockery.. it now rarely happens..
.
A good name is worth more over any amount of silver or Gold you can acquire too.
.
(Prov 22:1 KJV)  A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

(Eccl 7:1 KJV)  A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth
.
(Isa 26:10 KJV)  Let favour be showed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD.
.
Eccl 7:17 KJV)  Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?
 .
(Lam 2:14 KJV)  Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.
 .
(Eccl 7:8 KJV)  Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
 .
(Eccl 7:9 KJV)  Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.
(Eccl 5:15 KJV)  As he came forth of his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.
  .
(Eccl 12:13 KJV)  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
.
(1 Tim 6:9 KJV)  But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 9  But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10  For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11  But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness
.
Here also is what I know for sure, the older the person is the more extreme, more severe, the more difficult the punishment has  to be on them to cause them to personally to change in their own  negative ways, for they are too set in them now too.   And most bad persons  employ false denial techniques that build more walls between them and others.
.
We all must take any personal addiction seriously because 25% of North Americans die as a result of substance abuse. The average alcoholic dies twenty-six years earlier than he or she would otherwise. Drug users, alcoholics, cheaters, abusers, adulterers affect negatively continually too the lives of at least six others. Establish Boundaries, Set Limits, Set detachement.  One example of setting a boundary is telling a close friend, aloved one  that you prefer they not be around you if they are smoking,  drunk or high. Notice that it is specific deamnd, and you have to sit down and communicate this type of request explicitly with that someone. Setting a boundary like this is difficult because there is this tendency to hurt other’s feelings. But that is part of what is keeping you ineffective– your caring more about this person’s feelings than your own personal well being. Setting boundaries is about putting your own personal well being and even that of others first, and letting that be a guiding example of how to live. You know you are setting effective boundaries when you are taking back control of your own life firstly and starting to regain your own sanity–instead of being all wrapped up in the problems of a struggling smoker, rebel, drug addict or alcoholic.
.
True happiness cannot be in reality achieved without having a continual, personal relationship with Jesus here on earth and us continually knowing and following solely his will of our life too, instead of Idols. Why is Jesus God jealous of …idols before us? well it means he is envious for our own good.. he strives for all things to be our good… What idols? what ever replaces God is an idol.. what ever you falsely worship as substitute for God. And it can be drugs, booze, sex, or your wife, son , daughter, a persons, car, self, even your church, your pastor, your denomination, your own doctrines, beliefs, your culture, nationality … for we all had or have a god shaped vacuum in our life.. but filling it with extremes or false substitutes, junk will never be acceptable to God. Never. If you still do have a God shaped vacuum that is unfilled, then no other things, no relationships or careers, goals, next will satisfy you, not even any personal, social, community relationships, acts.  http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2011/09/14/a-good-name-is-rather-to-be-chosen-over-great-riches/
 .’

While ones’ admission of  alcohol use, marijuana use, dependency on pain killers, or even snorting cocaine maybe, could often be still  ridden out supposedly but not hidden, but still done not without any negative personal consequences, or leads to the usage of more bad drugs even,  even  the usage of crack cocaine which is very serious and costly for all.. .

You do the crime you alone pay the time or the cost of treatment is still a fact of life.  It is naïve to expect others to help you or they will pay the costs of your treatment

.

Crack cocaine is by far the most commonly used street-drug in Canada. It causes incredible physical suffering to those who are dependent. It destroys families and erodes social supports leading to isolation, hopelessness and homelessness. It is linked to criminal activity and violence.

.

There are many thousands of people across Canada who use crack — many on a daily basis, the underclass of Canadian society. Crack cocaine is by far the most commonly used street-drug in Canada. It causes incredible physical suffering to those who are dependent. It destroys families and erodes social supports leading to isolation, hopelessness and homelessness. It is linked to criminal activity and violence. Even among drug users, “crack heads” are considered at the bottom rung of the drug use ladder. The bad crack People are to be avoided and thus are also demonized.

.

Although Crack is cheap, readily available, it is immediately  habit-forming. It is a powerful euphoric agent that can dampen the pain and make troubles disappear.but is short-lived and within minutes the one’s depressions and troubles haven’t disappeared, but there is an intense desire to use crack and do it  over and over again..

The  vast majority of crack smokers in Canada are extremely marginalized, living in poverty, and spend a lot of their time chasing after crack.

.

The treatment of crack is costly and thus for the most part crack usage is very much  untreatable and a serious personal and financial threat to our cities.

.

So  crack users are a menace to society and now  criminal punishment is the only way to curb the problem. The sole response has been to use the criminal justice system to seek out the dealers and the users and to round them up and put them in jail. There is no reasonable  alternative approach towards the who got people started  on crack in the first place.

.

Now we are  not all callous and vindictive, but because of the impractical extremely high for engagement, care, treatment, and crack recovery treatment is unavailable generally

.

Instead of Society now confronting the health and social problems associated with crack use in Canadian cities, we have rightfully  left this to a less costly approach,  to law enforcement that continue to fill up jails with these people who are addicted and mentally ill.

.

It is true that our tools to manage, reduce and eliminate crack use are very limited. Research has shown that the psychological dependency on crack cocaine is very intense and that simply insisting on abstinence rarely works. There are currently no pharmacologic interventions available and programs that offer even the most basic psychotherapy are limited.

.

We also do know that at the very least people who are using crack must get out of the environment where they are using in order to avoid the cues that perpetuate their use. That itself is an unreasonable expectation..

.

A costly new research into alternative approaches to the vast cocaine dependency is not sustainable. No one can suggest that bad drug use can be managed through tough law enforcement but any alternative is financially unfeasible.

.

Because of the costs, lack of money,  our politicians, policy-makers, and even health care professionals, have turned a blind eye to the personal problem of crack cocaine.

.

With crack cocaine and all of its serious health and social consequences, costs  in full public view, what else can the user expect now? Pay the costs for using it.. Yes even  the doctors can lie to you and say they can help you, but not if you do not have the money to pay for their services.

.

One here reaps what one sows.. so what is strange about that?

.

.

People in leadership office do have to face higher penalties as an example now too. It is clearly established, accepted fact by most people that those in leadership civil and public servants cops, teachers, ministers, politicians included  are always to be exemplary in behavior,  conduct and they do need to maintain their high standards even out of their working hours, thus to do so they are also to be exemplary  judged, prosecuted  for their own wrong doings with a higher standard over those of us ordinary folks.

.

Toronto mayor Rob . Ford is  a suspected alcoholic too,  and  is also a well-connected person, pals with Stephen Harper and Jim Flaherty, who also like to consume alcohol…

.

Jesus is the only successful treatment for alcohol and bad drug usage.. but no one can force you to use his services..

Misleading advertising

medical
.
Hey I do admit  it  that I do hate outright blatant lying, liars amongst many other things, even  false, misleading advertising,  human rights abuses, crooked pastors, crooked cops and crooked politicians, crooked professionals etc.
.
Now I was sitting in my Doctor’s office recently while he was helping another patient, next door, so I was spending  my time reading his copies of the latest medical journals .. and one issue in particularly  had about 6 articles about how the doctors really cannot treat depression successfully.. Depression now it certainly cannot be treated with drugs because it does  not eliminate the root causes for a start too.
.
There are many causes of depression, a real sense of a significant personal loss… caused by real physical aspects and mental ones too.. even caused by lack of sleep, not eating properly now too…  Unresolved depression lends itself to to thoughts of being abandoned, not loved and leads to bad physical health, thoughts and/or acts of suicides.
.
Some people are even falsely depressed cause they are lazy, unrealistic, control freaks, selfish, self centered.. Some people are depressed cause they are on the wrong path all together and thus are lost but won’t admit it. Denial does not work.. it does not help to solve your sicknesses too..
.
No matter what the symptoms are the cause of heart attacks AND CANCER are the main reasons  are still mostly the  bad food you eat, including too much sugar and fats, or falsely skipping meals, or not sleeping 8 hours of Qualitative sleep, not getting enough exercise, 20  minutes every 3 days, and not handling negative personal stress effectively will affect your health but a serious issue is the  failure to get a proper medical tests. such as an echogram.. The same major bad thing that causes the major sicknesses of  heart disease cause Cancer, Arthritis and diabetes too often.. Most persons now would live much longer  on the average, if they could collectively overcome five unhealthy habits: smoking, excess alcohol consumption, poor diet, sedentary behaviour and stressing out. Doing nothing about it now next will not help you  We all sooner or later develop some form of major sickness that has to be dealt with.. .  Doing nothing about it now next will not help you
.
BUT I STILL DO SERIOUSLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU NOT STAY SICK.. WORK HARD RATHER AT GETTING A PROPER CURE. http://stayinhealth.wordpress.com/
.
(Acts 14:22 KJV)    Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the   faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of   God.
.
(Isa   40:31 KJV)  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;   they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary;   and they shall walk, and not faint.

.
(Luke 18:1 KJV)  And he spake a parable unto them to   this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
.
(Heb 13:5 KJV)  Let your   conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye   have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.6  So   that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man   shall do unto me.
So NEXT  I was really startled when within a month on TV I watch a medical add saying are you suffering from depression? your doctor can help you.. this was an unacceptable clearly a false, misleading add and there is no guarantee that any doctor can help you with your depression..

MONTREAL – The mayoral candidates in Montreal are talking a lot about corruption, taxes and reforming the municipal civil service — but for seniors, there are also other pressing election issues.Try snow-clearing, crosswalks and benches. Toss in social housing, age- and mobility-appropriate transit service, street lighting, public washrooms and more communication from city and borough officials, and you have a range of issues that would help any of the mayoral hopefuls shape a platform that appeals to elderly voters whether the electoral battlefield is Rosemont, St-Michel or Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.The problem is, they’re not trying.

Imagine this our too often useless, immoral politicians get an extra paid 4 week vacation again?

canadav

Stephen Harper to seek prorogation of Parliament

Imagine this our too often useless, immoral  politicians get an extra paid 4 week vacation again? as if Canada has no major problem that needs their attention.. if they cannot see the problems they just need to read my posts here.. We firstly do need to regulate the police as well as all of the bad politicians.. And there is a need to regulate even the type of people we even do let into Canada now for sure.. Thieves, liars, tax evaders, trouble makers, people abusers, children abusers, drug users and pushers, terrorists, religious extremists, sex maniacs, violence prone people should all for a start too be kept out..

Public exposure and prosecution of the major guilty persons serves as the best solution, deterrent to all now still too. Professionals, Politicians, police included now too. Where are the Justice Ministers really when they are needed? Elsewhere? Where? at their happy hour Bars..

And extra  these paid vacations for the Members of Parliament were all brought to you by the same happy hour Prime Minister Stephen Harper who had put his bad friends into power, even into the senate now too..  http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2010/02/23/pm-stephen-harper-needs-his-wings-clipped/

.

Tom Mulcair  NDP leader says Harper is ‘hiding’ behind prorogation as the prime minister is afraid to face questions about the burgeoning Senate expenses scandal.

3: Medicare   http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2011/10/18/how-to-deal-with-the-bad-doctors/
“Medication errors led to severe harm or death in 36 Ontario patients:    In the first year of mandatory reporting, Ontario hospitals disclosed that 36 patients had suffered severe adverse events – 10 of them fatal – because of medication errors. Those errors included patients being given an excess dose of a drug or given it too often; having the wrong drug administered; or experiencing an unanticipated adverse reaction to a medicine. Medication mistakes led to the deaths of 10 patients and severely jeopardized the health of 26 others, leading to longer hospital stays and in some cases disability, says the report compiled for the Ontario government by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices” and just a tip of the giant iceberg of medical inadequacies..
4: Federal government http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2012/08/02/the-conservatives-are-realy-now-no-better-over-the-liberals-in-canada/

One has to be ignorant not to know that Canada faces  too often a Youth unemployment Problem.. the federal Minister of Education should be aware of that but we do not have one.. While in Canada many people go to University  in Germany most people go to a trade school instead, so Germany has the less youth unemployment and is one of the most prosperous country  too.
.
What really peeves me off about this pretentious Conservative Government is just me waking up in my old age  and seeing that  they do not really work,  as they  have not done nothing good about it most of this list yet too. http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/about-2/
.
“By our count, there were more than a dozen major things left hanging in the air when parliamentarians last warmed their benches. What really went on behind the scenes between Senator Mike Duffy and former PMO chief Nigel Wright remains a mystery. No one has identified the person or people behind the fraudulent robocalls that misdirected voters during the last federal election. The fate of Senator Pamela Wallin, whose improperly claimed expenses have been sent to the Mounties, is unclear. The relative happiness of backbench Conservative MPs is anybody’s guess, though apparently the PM’s new chief of staff has played diplomat over the summer. The government’s next move on Senate reform is in the air, pending the Supreme Court’s consideration of six questions the government asked about how to actually reform the chamber. The next Parliamentary Budget Officer has not been hired. The future of the Canada Job Grant, touted by the feds as a solution to the country’s skills gap, is in the air. The airplane that replaces the CF-18 fighter jet has not been identified. Europeans and Canadians still haven’t figured out how to trade freely. U.S. President Barack Obama still hasn’t made a decision about the future of the Keystone XL pipeline. A Canadian regulator hasn’t made its decision about the Northern Gateway pipeline through British Columbia’s interior. The government still hasn’t set emissions regulations for oil and gas producers. The government hasn’t entirely addressed how it will meet aboriginal Canadian demands that emerged from the Idle No More movement. And the prime minister hasn’t called byelections in a number of ridings that stand vacant. “

What you should know about C. diff, the shit disease

.
MY MOTHER RECENTLY WENT TO THE HOSPITAL FOR ONE PROBLEM  AND CAME HOME WITH THE SHIT DISEASE FROM THE MONTREAL ST LUC HOSPITAL..
.
Too many Canadian professionals, workers next  become too lax when they do think they have attained some kind of job security and fail to do their duties fully too, towards all others.   http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/12/11/hospital-deaths-account-for-half-of-deaths-annually/
.
IMAGINE THIS TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE STILL DYING FROM THIS DECADES OLD  C. diff, the shit disease  where  contracting the superbug C. difficile in the hospital often is fatal or at least increases a patient’s stay by an average of six days, putting serious financial strain on Canada’s health-care system. A study by Quebec’s public health research institute (INSPQ) shows deaths related to clostridium difficile infections in 2010-2011 were the highest they’ve been since 2004. A total of 619 Quebecers died from C. difficile over the course of 2010 and 2011. And one death is always still one too many here too.. C. difficile is most often acquired in hospital, and  the disease is highly contagious.
.
We do not live in the dark ages for shit Disease is caused by poor cleanliness, poor hygiene, poor sanitation at the Hospital, who have been hiring NOT ONLY LAZY BAD employees but they have FOR AN UNACCEPTABLE DECADE NOW TOO   MANY THEY been cutting back on their MAINTENANCE COSTS and this has been unacceptable CLEARLY LEADING TO their criminal murderous acts OF THE CITIZENS.
.
Do take ALL OF THE HEALTH MINISTERS KNOW BEFORE A FIRING SQUAD AND SHOOT THEM, for THAT WOULD BE A RIGHT START TOO. http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2012/09/01/shit-disease-c-difficile-or-what-ever/
.
Seniors and Children are more seriously affected, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
.
AND FOR DECADES EVEN IN QUEBEC, CANADA, AND NO ONE IS JAILED FOR IT.. NOT EVEN THE HEALTH MINISTERS.
.
Like most C. diff patients symptoms began with severe diarrhea as the  intestines were shutting down and the colon becomes swollen that it pushed pressure up to the lungs, making it difficult to breathe.  In serious cases a  fecal transplant can often be used successfully here..
.
“ A USA TODAY investigation shows that is far more prevalent than federal reports suggest. The bacteria is linked in hospital records to more than 30,000 deaths a year in the United States— about twice federal estimates and rivaling the 32,000 killed in traffic accidents.  It strikes about a half-million Americans a year. Yet despite a decade of rising C. diff rates, health care providers and the government agencies that oversee them have been slow to adopt proven strategies to reduce the infections, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths and illnesses that could have been prevented, the investigation shows. Far more could be done to stop the deadly bacteria C. diff .  “I wish doctors were more forthcoming. … You don’t learn about it until after it’s too late.” The big challenge in curbing C. diff is getting everyone  to work together — from health care administrators and the government regulators  to doctors and nurses and the housekeeping staffs . “
.
“Hospital billing data collected by the US federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality shows that more than 9% of C. diff-related hospitalizations end in death — nearly five times the rate for other hospital stays.   Hundreds of Thousands more of unnumbered patients are treated in nursing homes, clinics and doctors’ offices.”  http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/news/health/story/2012-08-16/deadly-bacteria-hospital-infections/57079514/1
.
C. diff is “a big concern. And  C. diff infection can also now strike individuals at any age. The use of certain antibiotics can further  allow C. diff to thrive  Most medical staff and even citizens do not yet know,m realize how serious the diseases, prblme is cause they have not even been told about any of it.  Too many People are thus now dying needlessly. Deaths and illnesses are much higher than those disclosed also  since the bad doctors on their death certificates,  often don’t list the infection when patients die from complications, C. diff ,   kidney failure. It’s unacceptable and outrageous that C. diff hovers at all-time highs and the barrier is often cover ups and hospital costs plus  unacceptable medical practices. The news media and studies show that emergency rooms, patients’ rooms, washrooms, operating rooms too still often aren’t cleaned sufficiently.
.
In 2009, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched an “action plan” to reduce six high-priority Hopsital, seniors, old age homes infections, including C. diff. Infection rates for five of those have dropped significantly, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA but not  C. diff infections
.
In 2003 the  US Environmental Protection Agency, which regulates hospital disinfectants, learned that none of its approved products actually killed C. diff spores — though many claimed on their labels that they were effective against the bacteria so  the agency ordered manufacturers to remove the claims and began to identify new disinfectants that work.
.
Steps have already been taken in Canada in major hospitals to try to reduce C. Diff infections. Much more needs still to be done ti insure better quality medical care and patient safety. Nurses, doctors,  pharmacists , therapists that provide hands-on treatment, cleaning technicians  still all do  need to be out there and do much more to keep all rooms clean and  hospital infection rates down  The government should require all hospitals to mandatorily and not optional  report all C. diff cases.
.
They must also meet targets for reducing C. diff.. in hospitals, nursing homes and other care settings, 30% reduction per year, and there must  be a real penalty under Medicare and Medicaid for facilities that have allowed high C. diff rates. All nursing homes  hospitals must publically publicly report their rates of infections, qne include C. diff.
.
Standing in the way to reduce C. Diff infections still  are the false Hospital, old age homes concerns about the costs, staffing and the complexity of creating and implementing new procedures that require interdisciplinary teams to work together as even many homes,  Hospitals have cut housekeeping budgets in recent years, so many hospitals spend too little minutes cleaning all the rooms room.
.
As hospitals and nursing homes struggle with tight budgets and limited staffing, patient advocates say its critical that the public become more engaged in minimizing infection risks. Not all Hospitals don’t want to tell others,  patients the hospital  might be contaminated,” or to tell  the patients too the steps patients can take to minimize infection risks. Old age homes, Healthcare facilities  often lie, do not disclose the truth cause the “care about their reputation.”
.
Most hospitals still are slow to admit that they have infection related problems because admitting those problems, opens them up to lawsuits, and is admitting guilt prior to going to trial. It’s all about insurance (money) and lawyers. Things which should have nothing to do with keeping us healthy.
.
There is also limited tracking of antibiotics usages. In 2010, about 42% of infection control specialists nationwide said their facility had no antibiotic stewardship program, based on a survey by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. Such programs typically track the use of antibiotics to ensure proper use, which can reduce opportunities for infection.
.
The challenge of reducing C. Diff is also now still needed in nursing homes, where antibiotics are prolific, staffing often is too  thin and it’s tougher to isolate patients.
.
“How to attack the problem. There’s no mystery to cutting C. diff rates. The spore-forming bacteria exists throughout the environment: water, soil, human and animal feces. It typically sickens people taking certain stomach medicines or antibiotics, which diminish healthy bacteria in the gut as they attack infections. When levels of healthy bacteria get low, C. diff can take over, producing toxins that cause intense diarrhea, often with grave complications. The germ thrives in settings where antibiotics are in wide use, and its proliferation has accelerated as a new, hyper-virulent strain has emerged over the past decade. C. diff spores spread through fecal contamination: They get on people’s hands, often from bathroom fixtures, and move to other surfaces by touch, from light switches to bed rails to tables and trays. The tough-to-kill spores resist many disinfectants and can survive for months. Once they’re on patients’ hands, it’s a short trip to their mouths — and their intestines.”
.
The challenge is twofold:
 .
Control the use of antibiotics that allow C. diff to flourish,
.
and prevent the bacteria’s spread from infected patients via dirty hands, dirty rooms or dirty equipment.”
.
The British experience “has shown that substantial C. diff reductions are possible,” including changes in room-cleaning procedures, antibiotic controls and testing protocols for patients showing C. diff symptoms.
.
Many other health care infections have been stemmed by ensuring that certain medical procedures are done properly. That the Catheter-related infections were eliminated by getting doctors to change protocols for installing the devices. Infections linked to surgical incisions and ventilators can be reduced by getting doctors and nurses to alter practices and  more staff are  needed.
.
Many US hospitals also  have confronted those challenges head-on:
.
“•In Cincinnati, The Jewish Hospital-Mercy Health slashed its high C. diff rate by half in less than a year by adopting stricter antibiotic controls and new room-cleaning protocols. The program costs the 209-bed hospital about $10,000 a year.
•In Pittsburgh, the 792-bed UPMC Presbyterian cut C. diff 71% from 2000 to 2006 with new cleaning protocols, better identification and isolation of infected patients, and antibiotic controls.
•In Oak Lawn, Ill., the 695-bed Advocate Christ Medical Center reduced C. diff cases 55% by retraining housekeepers, coordinating care with infection prevention specialists, and adopting new disinfection standards for high-touch areas.”
But if you’re having one case of any health care infections a year, that’s still a problem and all unacceptable.

At least in some cases there is Justice

“Now we have the developing case of another Harper appointment that raises questions about the PM’s judgment. The PM appointed Porter to health advisory boards and then, oddly, recommended to the Privy Council Office that Porter be named to the Security and Intelligence Review Committee (SIRC). Harper’s record for associating with  undesireables just keeps getting better and better. Now we have the developing case of another Harper appointment that raises questions about the PM’s judgment.  The PM appointed Porter to health advisory boards and then, oddly, recommended to the Privy Council Office that Porter be named to the Security and Intelligence Review Committee (SIRC).Less than two years later, Porter found himself chair of our spy services oversight committee, a position in which he had access to all of Canada’s intelligence secrets. He was appointed to the Board of Air Canada and made a Queen’s Privy Councillor.  Porter also was connected to self-described arms-dealer and former (alleged) Israeli intelligence officer Ari Ben-Menashe. The two were involved in a dubious business deal involving a $120 million investment by Russia in “port development” in Africa.  It turned out that Porter was also claiming to be ambassador plenipotentiary of Sierra Leone, one of the most corrupt countries on earth — an obvious conflict with his SIRC role.”
.

Quebec’s anti-corruption task force suspects Porter and four high-profile  executives involved in the construction of the McGill University Superhospital  were part of a massive fraud conspiracy.UPAC issued arrest warrants Wednesday morning for Arthur Porter, Pierre  Duhaime, Riadh Ben Aissa, Yanai Elbaz , Jeremy Morris. UPAC confirmed  Wednesday that Elbaz – the former associate director general of the MUHC – is in  custody and will be charged Thursday. Duhaime — the former CEO of SNC-Lavalin – will turn himself in to Surete du  Quebec headquarters Thursday morning, He has already been charged with fraud. Ben  Aissa — another former executive at SNC-Lavalin — has already been arrested  and questioned by police for his possible role in other plots. All five are wanted for fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud, and related charges.   http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2013/02/27/high-profile-executives-involved-in-the-construction-of-the-mcgill-university-superhospital-are-charged/

.

Quebec’s police task force on corruption is probing the billion-dollar contract for McGill Montreal mega-hospital awarded to a consortium led by Montreal engineering giant SNC Lavalin Group Inc. SNC-led consortium had won the McGill University Health Centre contract. Police raid the McGill University Health Centre . Up until six months ago, the hospital project had been overseen by Riadh Ben Aissa, a former head of SNC’s construction division, and also a central figure in an ongoing scandal. One of SNC’s original subcontractors in the project was a company controlled by construction magnate Antonio (Tony) Accurso – a controversial figure who now is also facing fraud and corruption charges. The hospital deal was put together under the watch of the previous chief executive of the health centre, Arthur Porter who left his own job under a cloud late last year. Arthur Porter had been appointed chair of the federal government’s security-intelligence watchdog agency, when his African business dealings with an arms dealer were revealed. Dr. Porter stepped down from both jobs. The Quebec government has earmarked $2.35-billion for an effort to reconstruct Montreal hospitals, the lion’s share going to the McGill University Health Centre campus. “Quebec’s anti-corruption unit has put several high-profile figures in its crosshairs since being established last year. It has arrested construction magnates such as Mr. Accurso and Paolo Catania, as well as Frank Zampino, a former city councillor who was the right-hand man of Montreal Mayor Gérald Tremblay.”

.

Not much of a surprise? The tip of the iceberg is being revealed only as  the overall depth of corruption will take much more time apparently to uncover, corruptions that likley permeates the whole project. Birds of feathers tend to flock together. And no one should tell us that  these initial suspected persons, now  were even  just isolated individuals acting on their own without the vast help and knowledge of any others now too. Higher education never insures one’s good moral standings.

Former CSIS watchdog Arthur Porter arrested in Panama .Arthur Porter, the well-connected oncologist and hospital administer whom Prime Minister Stephen Harper appointed three years ago to oversee Canada’s spy agency, was arrested with his wife in Panama on charges including fraud against the Quebec government relating to his alleged role in the handling of a $1.3-billion Montreal hospital construction and maintenance contract, awarded three years ago to scandal-plagued engineering giant SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. The head of Quebec’s anti-corruption task force made the announcement Monday evening. In a written statement, Robert Lafreniere said the arrest was conducted after an investigation — code name Project Lauréat — by the Sureté du Québec, the RCMP and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).Dr. Porter and his wife, Pamela Porter, are in police custody. Mrs. Porter is accused of handling the products of crime and con   Efforts are being made to extradite the couple to Canada, according to the statement.  http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/05/27/arthur-porter-arrested-in-panama/

CLSC

.
The CLSC’s are an integral part of the Quebec  health and social service centres  (CSSSs).
.
They provide Free health and social services on their premises, but also in schools, at work and at home. The Quebec CLSC services for the people within the CLSC’s territory include:
  • routine health and social services (nursing care, blood tests, vaccinations, morning-after contraception, etc.);
  • preventive or medical services (medical consultations with or without an appointment) ;
  • rehabilitation and reintegration services; and
  • public health activities.

Sadly not all the CLSC’s are managed the same, as there are some that are very poorly managed and very inadequate still.  That is the same fact with the Hospitals in Montreal too.

.

This CLSC in Rosemount, Montreal has undeniably been the best, they have provided excellent services for my aged mother and many others for many years too

I  had posted here  my views of the Rosemount CLSC   nurses..

Subsequent to this one of the CLSC  nurses in my home had asked me to lobby to get more money for the Nurses.. This is not a normal request and not a rightful   demand by any CLSC nurse.  Let her stay with her job solely. And  it is not the Nurses Job also now  to act as a Doctor, to question what the Doctor has told me personally to do in regard to my own diabetes control or that of myself or of my  mother.. she can contact the doctor herself.. and learn from him..
.
Note Insulin recommendations levels   given by Doctors  given   by needles are not like Pills where you make just tem. Needle based insulin has to be adjusted  by all diabetes patients too according to the persons sugar level and also adjusted  to how the patient   actually eats.. I follow the Doctors specific instructions now and not the Nurses..
.
Please note the same nurse  had often complained to me she is overworked and understaffed.. so what have I do do with that? Maybe she is trying to be a doctor and not a Nurse

Quebec French Hospital CHUM also under review for money abuse

.
The Treasury wants to end an “allowance of attraction” Annual nearly $ 100 000 paid to the Director General of the Hospital of the University of Montreal (CHUM), Christian Paire.  This additional recurring compensation granted by the Board of Directors of the CHUM, was negotiated in 2009, when the CEO came to office. The Treasury now wants to abolish the term of office in June 2013, as told to the La Presse Newspaper.

“In June 2009, Treasury Board authorized the Board of CHUM to pay additional recurring remuneration up to $ 101,000 to its CEO,” says Jo-Annie Larocque, Press Secretary of the President of the Treasury Board, Stéphane Bédard.

Recently, the Treasury Board has, however, indicated the administration of CHUM they do  not want this allocation   renewed after the agreement in June 2013. This additional compensation varied years since it was included in the total compensation of Mr. Pair, whose ceiling was set at $ 350,000 by the government. In 2011, it reached  $ 294, 100 while it was $ 93,196 this year.

Secret salary

This is the first time that the veil was  lifted on the wage conditions of Christian Paire. To date, the CHUM has always falsely refused to disclose the content of the contract between the director general, even under the Law on Access to Information.

The head of communications at the CHUM, Isabelle Lavigne, has also refused to comment on the compensation of Mr. Pair and allocation of attraction that is paid.
It was finally  thanks to  the Ministry of Health and Social Services, it was possible to learn that the total compensation fixed at $ 350,000, excluding the compensation from third parties.

This salary includes a premium of 7% because the Director General shall be available at all times, as well as allocation of school management to academic vocation and an additional remuneration (allocation of attraction) requested by the CHUM.
In the past, the CHUM has already sent to the Ministry of Health for an “additional lump sum”, which was refused.

By comparison, the former CEO of CHUM, Dr. Denis Roy, for his part received a fee of $ 189,000 with paid   $56 .700.

In Ontario, the salary of CEOs is higher, as the remuneration of doctors and nurses, and it is not uncommon that exceeds $ 350,000.

Additional income

La Presse has also learned that the Director General of the CHUM, Christian Paire, also received a salary as an annual lump sum from the University of Montreal (UdeM) without having worked there. This additional compensation was paid in 2010 and 2011 and added to the $ 350,000 received from the CHUM .

Following an agreement with the University, Mr. Pair was hired as an assistant clinical professor at the end of 2009, confirms spokesman UdeM, Mathieu Filion.

A review of the contracts was made in summer 2011. “It was noted that the contract was problematic. There was no provision of work, “says Filion acknowledging that” the case

Mr. Pair is quite unique. “

A letter was sent to Mr. Pair in November 2011, telling her that the contract was broken. After this mailing, eight hours of work have been completed.

According to various sources, this compensation reached $ 80,000 annually. A share of $ 50,000 was paid by the University. The remaining amount of $ 30,000, came from the Fondation du CHUM, which is illegal, according to the Ministry of Health.

Québec solidaire has asked the permanent corruption Unit (UPAC) to investigate the awarding of the construction contract under a public-private partnership (PPP) of the Hospital of the University of Montreal (CHUM) and the Centre for Research CHUM Monday.”One wonders what the Liberal government interest served by keeping the PPP mode. Certainly not those of the taxpayers, “said the president of Québec solidaire, Andres Fontecilla, outside the offices of the UPAC.”Lack of competition”, “involvement of companies in the past known collusion, corruption and unethical practices,” “deficient cost control,” “proximity between the different actors of the project” and “irrational choice of embodiment PPP to the advantage of private “these five reasons should push the UPAC to put his nose in the back, according to QS.   http://journalmetro.com/actualites/montreal/321488/quebec-solidaire-demande-une-enquete-de-lupac-sur-le-chum/

The Permanent Anti-Corruption Unit (UPAC) must address the issue of CHUM believes Québec solidaire (QS). The spokesman QS, Françoise David, and the member for Mercier, Amir Khadir, surrendered Monday morning at the offices of the UPAC to file a request to investigate the awarding of contracts for the implementation of the CHUM and its research center.

According to QS, these records contain many elements that raise doubts and justify an inquiry.
During a press conference Monday morning, Françoise David and Amir Khadir noted the lack of competition in the bidding process leading to the award of the contract CHUM formed consortium of Dalkia, Innisfree and OHL and contract research Center (CHUM Research Centre) Access to Health consortium CHUM.
