WHY I LOST FAITH IN THE CANADIAN NEWS MEDIA

LIES.

,

Do just read the same News stories in different news media and you will find out that the News Media, News  papers often lie, they do not report the news, facts  accurately and too often rather  they often spin their stories to meet a false agenda. No  matter what the topic was, is.. about the Government, issues, or what ever. And they really do often still falsely think we all are so stupid that we will not notice this. Take for example the recent  Mike Duffy, Pamela Wallin  Affairs, where the news media contradict each other  on who is really guilty… they all cannot be right.. Why the different takes too?  The news media falsely is too often  is here to promote itself firstly and  not here merely to tell the truth, it is also here to make money for their bosses, owners,  even to be a self perpetuation job guaranteed services.. and  it generally will thus  do anything to do this .. even lie, distort,  sensationalize.. that is what is too often wrong with them.. News Media mostly a Self service and not a public service   http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2013/10/24/i-am-not-guilty/

So the Conservative Party slams door in media’s face — again.. Sparring between the Prime Minister’s Office and the Parliamentary Press Gallery is hardly new. But the gloves came off on Wednesday when a dispute over access to a government caucus meeting turned into a Conservative fundraising pitch. Most of the media gallery refused to show up for Harper’s speech to caucus members on Wednesday when his office insisted on allowing only photographers and TV cameras to attend — no reporters. Before the day was out, the Conservatives were using the dispute to raise money — a fundraising letter accused the “Ottawa media elite” of sinking to a “new low” — in hopes of turning Canada’s love-hate relationship with its journalists to the party’s political benefit. http://www.theprovince.com/news/Conservative+Party+shuts+media+caucus+meeting/9057669/story.html

Next we know that the news is censored by the Canada governments, the honest information is not being fully provided, Ministers and civil servants, cops are being muzzled too.. censored..

.

OTTAWA – Canada’s information watchdog has been flooded with fresh complaints that the Harper government is too often citing security to withhold documents requested under the Access to Information Act. http://www.calgaryherald.com/news/national/Flood+securityrelated+complaints+overwhelms+staff+info/9089153/story.html

It is an undeniable fact that  a new reporter does not kiss Canada’s  Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s ass he gets sacked.. removed by the RCMP even.. so much for free speech in Canada!

RCMP restrain Chinese reporter. Li, the newspaper’s bureau chief and a former Washington correspondent, says the communications staff initially gave him the indication he would be called upon, but then revoked it just before the prime minister’s availability. The Prime Minister’s Office limits the number of questions during public events and other journalists on the tour offered Li the opportunity to query Harper.  When staff refused to recognize him, Li tried to take the microphone, triggering a tussle involving one of the prime minister’s communication officers that ended with him being hauled to the back of the room by RCMP security staff. Li and another Chinese-language journalist, Xinhua news bureau chief Dacheng Zhang, have complained they were being unfairly kept away from tour events made accessible to Canadian journalists.  Li, an accredited member of the parliamentary press gallery, said he wanted to ask what was Canada’s stand on Chinese investment and foreign takeovers — an issue that has been up in the air since the Conservative government approved the purchase by the state-owned China National Offshore Oil Corporation of Nexen.Three RCMP officers were nearby and grabbed him.   The highly trained unit is deployed wherever the prime minister goes and travels with him in order to protect him, though it is unclear what risk, if any, they believed Li posed.  Li said the RCMP officers “said I couldn’t ask a question. I said why?” Li said he told the Mounties that Canadian journalists had agreed he could ask a question. “It’s not democratic.” It is Harper’s practice to limit the number of questions he takes from reporters —  As is now common practice at Harper news conferences, the number of questions is decided by the prime minister’s staff and announced to members of the media, who determine by consensus which issues need to be addressed and which reporters are best to pose them. Political reporters have long complained about the practice, but Harper’s office for years has refused to do things any other way.  Li Xue Jiang, Canadian bureau chief for the Chinese People’s Daily, is one of 10 reporters travelling with Harper on his tour of the North  denied chance to ask question as he  tried to ask Harper a question during a news conference at a mine in northern Quebec. “The Prime Minister’s Office shouldn’t deprive my right. It’s not democratic,” Li said   ”  Harper did not answer the question because he does not know the answer. He never has known what is going on. He should be accountable for Canadian business being sold overseas. It seems like another sneaky deal by the government. That seems like Harper’s mo. To me Harper is as dishonest as the crocks that are behind bars.”  Read more: http://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/tussle-involving-chinese-reporter-caps-off-harper-s-northern-tour-1.1424081#

A veteran TV cameraman was next not  allowed to travel to Malaysia with the prime minister this week .Earlier today, Stephen Harper’s office appeared poised to scratch CTV journalist Dave Ellis from the scheduled already trip because he asked an impromptu question during a media event last week in New York. Ellis asked Harper about the charges laid against then-Conservative MP Dean Del Mastro, even though reporters and photographers had been told questions were not allowed . Harper leaves Thursday for a seven-day trip to Malaysia and Indonesia, and CTV had Ellis accredited to work on the assignment as a pool cameraman. But following Ellis’s New York assignment, CTV said it was told by the PMO that Ellis would not be allowed on Harper’s plane, even though he had earlier been approved for the trip. -The TV networks fought back, insisting that they — not the Prime Minister’s Office — should decide who to assign to cover Harper when he travels abroad. Shortly after news of the dispute became public, however, Jason MacDonald, a spokesman for the prime minister, said no accredited journalist would be prevented from boarding Harper’s plane. Access commissioner says government obstructs freedom-of-information law. Canada, once a global leader in freedom-of-information, now is regarded as a laggard, with a badly outdated and poorly administered law born in the pre-Internet era.  http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/canadas-info-czar-warns-against-federal-governments-new-obstructive-tactics/article14563504/

Suzanne Legault, Canada’s Information Commissioner, says federal officials are suppressing freedom of information in Canada. “I am seeing signs of a system in crisis, where departments are unable to fulfill even their most basic obligations under the act,” she told a group of bureaucrats yesterday in a private meeting.    http://www.vancouverobserver.com/world/canada/information-commissioner-canadas-freedom-information-system-crisis

Accountability, for most governments, involves sharing the information they want to share and restricting access to information they find uncomfortable or even threatening.  Accessibility and transparency are expensive in many ways; the actual system can cost taxpayers, and the results can cost politicians personally. That being said, the value of a government that is willing to both take credit for its successes and admit when it has made mistakes should not be underestimated. That sort of government, at least, believes its citizens deserve the fullest and broadest accounting possible — in other words, it treats citizens as equals, able to rationally examine a government’s performance, rather than simpletons who have to be led by the nose with only the best of good news.  It’s an occupational hazard of having a system where the winners at the polls end up believing that they actually own the government, not just hold it in trust for their citizens.  http://www.thetelegram.com/Opinion/Editorials/2013-10-01/article-3412314/Shutting-us-out/1

Prime Minister’s Office tipped on access to information requests in Senate spending scandal  OTTAWA — Federal bureaucrats notified Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s chief of staff in June that they were about to make public that a search of the Privy Council Office had not uncovered a single document related to the scandal involving Sen. Mike Duffy. A briefing note to Ray Novak, released to Postmedia News under the access to information law, shows that Harper’s right-hand man was informed on June 25 about the answer to be sent imminently to an access-to-information request. On the same day, PCO bureaucrats sent the Prime Minister’s Office the “red files” — the term used for flagged requests that could be politically sensitive or damaging to a department or minister. Three days later, a response was sent out to the requester — Liberal MP Ralph Goodale — that the PCO had not found any documents in its “control or custody” related to Duffy, Sen. Pamela Wallin’s expenses, or any emails between Duffy and Harper’s former chief of staff, Nigel Wright. That response was the first of many handed out over the summer as information requests, which any Canadian can file, came back with negative responses. At Public Works and Government Services Canada, according to documents released to Postmedia News, officials asked why there were no records regarding Duffy’s cheque to the Senate that repaid his improper housing expenses, which they called a “hot issue” requiring a response. “Everyone who looked at it is scratching their heads,” Goodale said. “There’s no paper trail here at all. That’s strange credulity that could have been the case at all.”   http://www.canada.com/news/Prime+Minister+Office+tipped+access+information+requests+Senate+spending+scandal/8880105/story.html

A former cop with an exemplary record is going public about what he calls corruption in Edmonton police ranks, after he tried internally to expose what he believes is organized brutality, but got no results.”I stood up for what’s right, and I just got run out of the police service,” said Derek Huff, 37.  “I still can’t even really believe it.” Huff is a 10-year-veteran who resigned in February, three years after he said he and his partner watched — stunned — as three plainclothes officers viciously beat a handcuffed man while he was down. “They basically had their knees on his back and were just punching and kicking him just as hard as they could …six fists just pummelling this guy … I could hear him screaming,” said Huff. He reported what he saw   but he said until recently the alleged assault was kept quiet.  http://ca.news.yahoo.com/former-cop-blows-whistle-brutality-corruption-090720342.html

Admittedly it is sad, but still the truth that Most people still are not in total touch with reality.. cause they are being lied to or cause they lie and start to believe their own lies.  Most people are also still Ostriches in denial, they have  glamorous versions of the reality, a distorted one, a spin, one they use to force  themselves not to deal with the reality  or to have to  think about the reality  negatively.. for not surprisingly since  the average person now  lies 3 times every 10 minutes.. and too  too often  even the news reporters, politicians, professionals  falsely object to the telling of the negative truths, realties  as it  would be bad for their business, careers  http://postedat.wordpress.com/2010/08/06/but-you-know-that-already /

The Bible also lists this sin of lying as one that can lead us to hell along with some other grievous ones. (Rev 21:7 KJV) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. (Rev 21:8 KJV) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. http://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2009/03/06/people-need-to-stop-lying-to-others-themselves/

Most  Jewish Americans say they have ‘no religion’ showing a trend towards secular Jewish identity in the U.S., the report finds. In the total U.S. adult population, people who describe themselves as Jewish when asked about their religion account for just 2 per cent.   religious and more likely to marry a person of a different faith than someone from within their community None-religious Jews are far more likely to marry outside of their Jewish culture – 79 per cent. A growing proportion of American Jews are unlikely to raise their children Jewish or connect with Jewish institutions. The proportion of Jews who say they have no religion and are Jewish only on the basis of ancestry, ethnicity or culture is growing rapidly, and two-thirds of them are not raising their children Jewish at all.   The emotional attachment to Israel has held steady over the last decade, with 69 percent of respondents saying they feel attached or very attached to Israel. While most of those surveyed by Pew said they felt a strong connection to Israel, and 23 percent reported having visited the Jewish state more than once, the respondents expressed significant reservations about the current Israeli government’s policies vis-a-vis the Palestinians.  Forty-four percent said West Bank settlement construction hurts Israel’s security interests, and only 17 percent said continued settlement construction is helpful to Israeli security. Thirty-eight percent of respondents said the Israeli government is making a sincere peace effort with the Palestinians. The survey was conducted among 3,475 U.S. Jews between February and June, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Now look at how the Jewish spin doctors do even spin this story..

next Notice the Canadian media downplayed these stories and why?

A free speech  ad campaign on Vancouver’s transit system showing the territory of Palestine shrinking into the state of Israel will run in other Canadian cities this fall, has  the Canadian Jews falsely up in arms.. of course they can play their Racists, or Slander approach against it..  the images, which went up in Vancouver  show the steady occupation of Palestinian territory by Israel. “We wanted to draw attention to and shed light on the ongoing human rights violations … against Palestinians,” they are what  Anti-Israel  or  pro-Palestine ads depends on your bias??  http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2013/08/29/canadian-jews-falsey-object-to-the-truth-being-displayed/

A pair of suicide bombers blew themselves up outside a 130-year-old church in Pakistan after Sunday Mass, killing at least 81 people in the deadliest attack on Christians in the predominantly Muslim South Asian country.  http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/22/us-pakistan-blast-idUSBRE98L02K20130922

The attack on the All Saints Church in the city of Peshawar, which also wounded over 140 people, occurred as worshippers were leaving after services to get a free meal of rice offered on the front lawn. A wing of the Pakistani Taliban quickly claimed responsibility for the bombing, Angry Christians   demanded government protection for the members of the Christian minority. Christians are a minority in Pakistan, where roughly 96 per cent of the country’s 180 million people is Muslim. The rest belong to other religions, including Christianity. Christians have often been attacked by Sunni Muslim militants, who view them as enemies of Islam because of their faith. Christians are also in a precarious position in Pakistan. While many Pakistanis condemned the Sunday bombings, Christians have often faced discrimination across the country. They often find it difficult to get access to education or better jobs and are known for having to contend with menial labour such as garbage collecting or street cleaning. . http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/angry-pakistani-christians-protest-church-attack-as-death-toll-rises-to-81/article14460407/
